Lemme try and explain the law around armed robbery to you. The penalty for robbery is 5-25years depending on its degree....but armed robbery is either life in jail or death depending on degree also. Robbery is stealing without a deadly weapon....eg pick pocket, breaking and entering, bulgary, etc all these you get less than 10yrs in jail....but if during the commission of the robbery you injured someone, you get 10yrs+.....if you kill its 25yrs+ could even be life in jail.
But armed robbery is stealing with a weapon dat can kill. If you have anything dat can kill with you while stealing it becomes armed robbery....even if the weapon is a nail, blade, knife, axe, gun etc....for that you get life in jail no questions asked....if you happen to kill or injure anybody during the commission of the crime....you get death straight.
That's the law.
Offenses that can get you life imprisonment or death in Nigeria are the following; Armed robbery (regardless of weapon used) Treason (coup plotting) Kidnapping Terrorism Etc

In 2021, I came across a young lady. She is beautiful and she has the right curves in appropriate dimensions. I liked her instantly. We exchanged contacts and we started talking.

I wired her the money and I relocated from the town in May. I waited till June and she never called to dicsuss the money. I started calling her two weeks ago and she wouldn't pick my calls. After series of unanswered calls, she picked and told me to send my account details.
She did not send the money and has not returned my calls since then.
How do I get the money back?

To the matter.... I need legal & other advice on how to handle a situation that's causing me a lot of mental stress. I loaned 280,000 Naira to my cousin's husband around January for his business. There was no written agreement (I blame myself for this) because I felt it would be awkward to ask a family member to sign papers before I help him. Although I have other proofs like recorded calls and conversations where I asked for my money and he kept on begging for more time. The agreement we had was for him to payback by March. I had plans to purchase a fairly used Keke-napep with this 280k (plus some money I had reserved in my account).
When it was time to pay, I called him a lot to ask for my money. Sometimes, he'll pick and beg for more time. Sometimes, he'll pick and just leave me saying "hello hello hello" without a word from him. Most of the time he won't even pick my calls. He once asked me to send my account number but he didn't send anything (I felt like a joke). This went on from March, April & May. During this period, I had spent, on feeding & other bills, all the money I was supposed to add to the 280k in order to purchase the Keke-napep. This Keke-napep would have generated money for this bills if I had bought it then.
I've been staying at his place since beginning on this month because I don't have any money to fend for myself. When I came here, he told me that his customers promise to send the money before 15th of this month but they didn't. Now he said they promise to send it by the end of this month. All these while I have been patient and tolerant with everything, including the treatment I've been receiving since I came here (I don't even want to go into these treatments). I've been staying indoor since I came here because I don't know anywhere in this area. Just sitting one place and waiting for time to run makes me think about a lot of things and it's depressing.
I can't take this anymore. Even if I have a soft spot for family members, I also need to think of myself by taking necessary measures to get my money back before they ruin my plan of purchasing something that will help me survive daily. I need advice, please

A Fuel Attendant has allegedly been shot dead by a soldier duing a scuffle in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The Incident happened at Shafa filling station located near Obasanjo Complex on Monday, June 20.
According to a Facebook user, Mohammed Usman, the soldier shot the attendant after the deceased allegedly threatened him with a cutlass.
"It was reported that the soldier had a spat with the fuel attendant which escalated to a fight with the Fuel Station Manager, that resulted in them exchanging slaps," Usman narrated.
"Angered by the soldier's behavior, the young fuel attendant slapped him and threatened him with his cutlass. The soldier pulled out his gun and shot the fuel attendant, who was rushed to the hospital. Subsequently, were were informed that the Fuel Station had been closed down." he added.
Abdulkareem, an eyewitness, who spoke to Punch , said the soldier was engaged in a scuffle with the fuel station manager which led to both parties slapping each other.
"The soldier and the manager were having a misunderstanding. Though I don’t know who slapped first but they both slapped each other and people started trying to intervene,” Abdulkareem said.
He also said that as a result of the scuffle, one of the station attendants, who was said to be the brother of the manager, brought out a cutlass and stabbed the soldier who in turn shot him.
"As people were trying to settle the misunderstanding, one of the attendants, who is the younger brother of the manager, came to support his brother in the fight by bringing out a cutlass and stabbing the soldier”.
He added that the soldier in turn brought out his gun and shot the boy who was then rushed to the hospital.
Another eyewitness said the boy didn’t stab the soldier but brought out his cutlass to threaten him before the soldier pulled out his gun and shot the boy.
He added that the boy did not make it to the hospital as he died before they got to the general hospital.
