Why must it be Madonna or caritas university and whose idea is it ?

The parents or whoever his guardian is, is a joker. He stays at home partying, 2going, facebooking and cruising around town, who provides the funds?who is the 'enabler, the main culprit?

Ekaro.

The face matters a lot to me. That face is too chubby and. . . Pretty.

Fulaman198: What if he has muscular body, is he still too feminine?
Culture › Re: Cultural Exchanges by ifyalways(f): 9:02pm On Aug 16, 2012
I have a problem with people that look down on or feel superior to others just because we think their culture "does not make sense" .

I have an AA pal who believes that 'kneeling to greet an elder' is crude and self demeaning. No explanation is good enough for her but then she expects me to feel cool, sort of coerce me to see giving high5 and chopping knuckles as a form of greeting.

Accept and respect each culture as it comes so long as it does not affect you, directly and negatively.

I used it then. Chewing stick and ground charcoal.twas good.

Not so keen on using that again. The one huge limitation it has is tongue cleaning. Is charcoal even good for the teeth/gums?

Johnny, you and I know I live in a ghetto, that's no news anymore. My reply was in tune with the OP's story. Apparently, wherever the OP lived, he was able to see and hear what was happening in his neighbours room, apartment or condo.

@kobo,I would love to see people with your mindset on Nigerian streets. I've seen a lot on the internet and honestly, they don't impress me anymore.
Family › Re: Why Do I Always Feel Helpless, whenever I Come Across A Man Beating His Wife? by ifyalways(f): 10:59pm On Aug 15, 2012
@kobo, nothing is wrong with collecting blow or bottle meant for another in the cause of being empathetic. I didn't say anything was wrong in that.
I never knew empathy translates to throwing away common sense and putting your life on the line for another person. How "real" can we get ? How do one deal with having a permanent scar all because s/he was acting goody-two-shoes and worst of it, come to realize that the couple made up that same day and were rolling in bed while s/he is still being stiched.
There are better ways to show empathy without endangering your own life, especially in a lawless community like ours.

Amish women=deeper life women.
Culture › Re: Who Is More Hard Working? African Or Western Women by ifyalways(f): 8:36pm On Aug 15, 2012
Lol. Are we talking about todays Amish women? This site says otherwise

http://www.google.com/gwt/x?hl=en&u=http://pittsburgh.about.com/cs/pennsylvania/a/amish_2.htm&client=ms-rim&q=amish+women&sa=X&ei=lvcrUOLLNYnM0QXcwIG4BA&ved=0CC8QFjAF

Btw, what's the grounds of comparison? The amish women chose certain lifestyle Cos of their religious inclinations.
They are just a tiny set and does not represent the phrase "western women". All the things you listed up there and more is a daily norm for women in villages/rural settings in Africa and its not their choice(unlike the Amish, who are doing so Cos of their religious beliefs)

Todays Amish woman uses phone and some other gadgets, they just don't fancy owning one personally.

Check the website.

Sighs.

I'm interested in the concluding part of your story.break your reply into say 4 paragraphs of 5 sentences per post. It should work. The bot hides long posts. It happened to me last night.

You no try OP and you know it.You could have atleast taking the little child, wiped her tears and carry him or her home or something.

I'm living in Nigeria and I know that keeping a child safe and away from fighting parents NEVER backfires.Trying to seperate the couple might. undecided
you can end up collecting a slap/blow/bottle meant for another pesin and all you'll get is "sorry" cheesy
Family › Re: Share Your Most Effective Conflict Resolution Skill With Us ! by ifyalways(f): 9:44am On Aug 15, 2012
This thing called marriage, no size fits all.
What works for me is erhm, rather somehow.

When I'm mad with my husband and I think I'm right,I initiate conflict resolving by kpekus-ing him madly. After the show, we normally have a long laugh at ourselves then talk through whatever issue we had earlier with a calmer head and saner soul.

My husband on the other hand, when I nag,get into those bad foul moods or just spoiling for a fight gives me the silent treatment.that always shuts me up.
Family › Re: Spanking Your Child In Public by ifyalways(f): 9:28am On Aug 15, 2012
What could a 9 years old child do to deserve :
Being spanked with a possibly rough tree branch.
Spanked on the road.

The mom failed to nip whatever bad trait the boy had in the bud and now is trying a tad to late to correct it, and going about it in the wrong way.
I won't be caught dead shouting at or spanking @ my child on the road. It depicits a picture of a mad, failed mom and a poorly trained child. I can correct my child on the road sha.
