Phones › Re: Can Service Providers Tell The Kind Of Handset You Are 'currently' Using? by ifyalways(f): 10:31am On Jan 25, 2011
duintes:
Operators are able to tell categorically what phone type and model you are using. But the question here should be at what point do they drill down to the level of knowing your phone type? So the frontline reps may not have the need to see your phone type before attending to you while if you are in for something serious (God forbid), such applications might be called up. Don't forget that each phone has IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). You see this by dialling *#06# - irrespective of your phone type and network operator. The IMEI is unique to every phone. So this presupposes that each OEM would have a code in the IMEI that would identify them as the manufacturer.

Just think of the magnificent, intelligent and supreme owls that are ruthlessly slaughtered in nigeria in the name of witchcraft.

Ignorance breeds fear and fear is living dead.
redsun:
They are stealth and nocturnal predator, design to kill in silence and in the dark. There is nothing to be afraid of them fo,unless one sees himself as a prey and fortunately, they don't prey on humans.
I quite agree with u on that.
We are all told that owls are bad omen, when they hoot at ur roof, someone is bound to die,bla bla.

ogugua88:
One's name is like their identity. I don't know how old your wife is. I'll use a figure like 33. I can understand where she is coming from as one's name is their identity. For some, it's easy and exciting to change their surname. For some it's difficult and they may not want to do so. I'm so used to my own surname that I wonder if I'll be able to change it easily when and if I, too, should marry. I say you should leave her alone with the matter. If she'll come around, she'll do so when she's ready. Although I must say after seven years, is there still much reason for you to fight it? How is this making you lose confidence your marriage? If this is the only problem in your relationship, then I think you're being hard on her.
@Bolded,so u are saying that as a married woman, she is ashamed of being identified with the hubby's name or  huh

Bossman:
I read somewhere in this forum that some carriers (MTN I think they said is one of them) is now blocking opera mini. It did not make sense to me since, using this browser compresses data, and if anything it helps throughput, plus I always use MTN whenever I am in Naija and I ONLY use opera mini on my phones. So, if true, it must be a very recent thing, or may be some versions of opera mini. It would help if someone can shed more light on it. As I plan on visiting Naija in march, and plan on using my MTN sim with opera mini.
Oh i see,thank you.
I was beginning to wonder if i have become a super-duper-tech overnight, considering most peeps are having problem with installing common Opera-mini.

Islam › Re: Curious About Islam, facts About Islam. by ifyalways(op): 6:04pm On Jan 24, 2011
Lagosboy:
Apologies for the late reply.

Someone could be blessed with some ability to see some things and it is called "True dreams". The prophet said true dreams is 1/40 of prophethood. Having true dreams is one aspect and then blessed with the ability to inteprete them is another blessing. The science of dream intepretation exists in islam and one of the notable classical scholar in that realm was Ibn sireen and his books are still available till today.

Any kind of "prophecy" that falls short of true dreams or natural intuition (in yoruba we call it ifura logun agba) is something else and most likely there is a jinn connection.

The difference between a fortune teller and what i explained above is that a fortune teller delibreately consults to know a specific thing about someone but a true dreamer does not plan it and Allah just chooses to reveal some things of the future to such person. Also, there are some people that walk pass you and start to say somethings about you without planning, this is also handiwork of the jinns and part of fortune telling.

In summary , only God knows the future and even if we dream about something we still have to pray and pesevere to make that dream a reality if it is a good thing as the ultimate power lies with Allah. Also, if someone like a prophet of doom predicts something bad about you ignore it and pray to Allah against any calamity. The rule and guide is to never listen to any fortune teller and if someone wants to predict shut him up and tell him off. If fortune tellers were worth it no marriage would be broken and no one would work.

And God knows best.
Thank you so much.
Salams.

Any person thinking of communicating with Nwankwo Kanu (Papilo) and John Utaka Chukwudi on one of the world leaders in social networking websites online such as facebook should think twice, as the pairs Portsmouth coach Steve Cotterill has prohibited all players to chat on PCs or mobile telephones. The word Fratton Park is that Cotterill is the conversations on the Internet a distraction and that it would be better to keep his players from browsing or chatting to maintain their focus on their difficulties in finding a place in the Premier League English.
Details of the report of Queensland said Coterill had taken the lead to show his players he was serious about the ban, warning that they would be fined one thousand quid a word, if they were captured do. “I told the guys not to go on Twitter and Facebook Connect and to write something about Portsmouth Football Club or what happens here. “This is a load of junk. If they spent less time on the computer and more time football game, we would have a better set of players. “I told them that if they do, then I fine them 1000 pounds per word, ” confirmed Cotterill.
