ChinenyeN: Igbo people, check his out. . . http://ig.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ih%C3%BC_Mbu . . . raises some questions though, the most pressing one being where the(se) writers are getting their terms from. Obia? Science? What is Ovuru? What is Nzu? Ilunilu? etc. etc. I wonder who is writing all this, and am I the only one who finds this Igbo wiki somewhat difficult to read? as in, I can't really make sense of most of what I read. I sometimes feel like I need a translator. I visited that site,i couldn't make anything from most of their translations,I wonder how they came abt it cos i truly don't agree that was "Igbo Izugbe" |

Food › Re: Why Do People Prefer Igbo And Calabar/akwaibom Kitchen/food Than Other Tribes? by ifyalways(f): 11:56am On Jan 15, 2011 |
Kulas: Believe it or not,its hundred percent true that majority of people prefer eating in an Igbo,Calabar/Akwaibom kitchen/restaurant than Yoruba or Hausa kitchen. Here in lagos,if there are three restaurants situated close to one another with Calabar/Akwaibom,Igbo and Yoruba being the cooks respectively, people will be trooping in,in the calabar/akwaibom,igbo kitchen, including the yorubas themselves, other tribes and foreignerl eaving the Yoruba/Hausa own. Many of them confirmed truly that food prepared with this ethnic groups mentioned are better than theirs.Besides, they are neater.I think credits should be given to these people and also advised other tribes to learn how to prepare delicious food to emulate their counterparts as well as being neat.Hope its true or any objection?. If this is ur personal observation, cool but if u are saying its a Fact . . .dat one na lie. Im a proper Igbo girl but anytime i travel out of Igboland/country,God in heaven knows that its only Yoruba food that i crave for.Im not alone,i know quite alot of ppl that wud climb the highest mountain for a plate of ewedu and amala I only eat Igbo foods at home, when eating out,its either Yoruba,Itsekiri or Ghanaian dishes for me. |

blank: It is very sad dat d poster will say its not their tradition. This is what happens when u leave your country n stay in another man's country. U will start 2 forget your traditions. If I was a member of his family, I will refuse 2 go 2 d wife's place 4 d white wedding. It brings a very bad name 2 d man's family in Igboland. His wife has hidden his balls n now wears d pants in d house.
The wife herself is Igbo, why is she insisting on what she knows is very wrong? Seems like she has underhand reasons. If his dad is still alive, can he insist on bringing shame 2 his father's name? Yet, he has d guts 2 say his mum is jealous. Na wa 4 some men. lmao but its kind of true . . .In igboland white weddings are normally held at the grooms place, trad. at brides place. Some times cos of distance, its held at a neutral ground. I don't think the wife is insisting on having it at her place,or did she |

uplawal: Also wanna ask my muslim brothers and sisters,
Why do some muslimas particularly the ones that wear flowing black gown, always dnt care about inpurities/dirty getting in the clothes, simply based on a hadiths that says, women gown can be so long, even if it sweeps ground if it can. How do we get rid of dog wee,and other disgusting inpurity off thier clothes, cos to me the hadith is contradictory to the Quran, cos the Quran says about wearing purified garment and not spiritual garment o,pls can you shed more light pls. If one must wear long gowns that sweep the ground then she should have atleast 3 of it so she can interchange frequently and wash often. BTWn,i dont wear long overflowing gowns that sweep the ground,ankle-length is my style. |

The evil of TV is undoubtedly more than its gains, especially for the young children. To some, it seem to be a necessary evil, something one can't do without. I've not had a Tv set in my home for the past six years, and I'm yet to feel the disadvantage of it. wow, The first time my husband talked to me abt movies and TV programmes i watch,i was like wtf is wrong with this man.He went to Hajj and brought me lots of audios and dvd's and im loving it and asking for more. I have in my collection :life of the last prophet,Paradise found,30 days as a muslim,The Hajj: One American's Pilgrimage to Mecca etc.My boys have and enjoy "Muhammad: The Last Prophet" cartoon. I still do watch the normal TV . |

Did u promise her that u wud see her through school?I mean, if she is as poor as u paint her,why or what made her write jamb knowing she has no money for fees?if i were her,i wud work and save for a year before going on to write jamb.its better she learn how to fend for herself, just incase u are not there.Enter our Unis and see babez and guys hustling. You can pay the fees, there is nothing wrong with it but encourage her to do something for herself eg vacation job, selling stuffs in school. It wud help both of u and in future if things don't work,You wont feel used and dumped and she guilty and in debt. |

jennykadry: LMAO ify nne haba, na so the thing sweet you reach
Ify I agree with you here , some women have lost good men and are now crying fowl because they wanted to guy to wait for them until they've finished school before marriage, some guys will wait but some wanna start having a family and can't afford to wait for another couple of years or more to achieve that.
I made that decision some years ago and have never regretted it, I wanted to call off the relationship at some point because I just could not understand why a man kept ringing marriage bells in my ears even when I told him I want to finish school first, BTW ify I was not up to 23 yrs then .
My father was way beside himself,". . . . . . getting married gini" , he asked me, if the man had a gun, MRJK would have had an orange tree growing on his grave by now.
Look it did not stop me from finishing school, I was discussing with MR JK recently and told him how I would love to go for another undergraduate course(because of my degree and experience I am going to get some credit transfers i.e alot of units taken off the course) so it was not going to be another long course you know and believe me ever since I told this dude these, he has been on my behind forcing me to check out schools online and when I told him next year the dude went on the internet and did some researches got me a few schools and asked me to pick one. Its all about having someone that is supportive.
[s]I would have kept quiet sef, with the rate the dude is going I might be starting in august [/s] LOL. I was 23 when i married,no regrets whatsoever. |
