Realist12: The Yoruba's have to be wiser now and not watch the history repeat itself, this just happens to be exactly like Awolowo and Ladoke again. If we are to look at antecedents and weigh them Osinbajo can't be compared to Tinubu. Will you stop Yorubas have to be wiser nonsense. What did you gain when Obj was a president? What did common Ijaw get when Jonathan was a president? What did the poor Hausas get with Buhari in power? So everyone should vote about their interest and stop this nonsensical Yoruba thing. |

perambulator: Osinbajo’s candidacy is dead on arrival. He may not even declare, forget what you read in the papers by his sychophants urging him to run, I know for a fact that he knows he cannot win a primary unless he is a consensus candidate. He will be embarrassed in a primary contest with Tinubu and Amaechi. Consensus can tear the party apart, why would Buhari risk tearing the party apart for someone who has not earned the right to contest and contributed nothing to the formation of the party? Common sense would tell people that If Buhari is not supporting Tinubu, he will not add further humiliation by suppprting his protégée. If Buhari is picking a consensus candidate, it will be Amaechi or Fayemi!
The writing is in the wall for Osinbajo, his political naivety has put him in no man’s land. Fayemi wants to be president but you don’t see him encouraging his supporters or creating proxy support groups because he has been in politics long enough to know when the odds are stacked against you, you keep quiet. I can give you this guarantee. If Tinubu doesn’t get the ticket and Amaechi doesn’t get the ticket, Osinbajo will not be the compromise candidate. It will likely go to the man who just kept quiet….Fayemi. This is a trend in Nigerian politics, Fayemi is a political scientist a ph.D holder in political science, he knows the game as a student of Nigerian politics, he knows all leading aspirants tend to knock themselves out and the eventual winner is selected be it Balewa, shagari, Obasanjo, Yaradua Buhari. If Tinubu/Amaechi don’t get the ticket and for some reason the they insist the ticket must come to SW, it will fall on Fayemi not Osinbajo because Osinbajo would have created too much bad blood!!!! The Tinubu camp will never suppprt Osinbajo after his betrayal and like it or not APC need the Tinubu camp onboard. APC needs Tinubu, APC needs Amaechi, APc needs Fayemi, APC don’t need Osinbajo…..he is the most dispensable of the contenders, I.e the one you least need to keep happy!!!!
Personally, I would prefer Amaechi but I cannot see new PDP getting the chairmanship and the presidency. Apc was a merger between AD, PDP and CPC. CPC has been president and as I said New PDP has been selected as Chairman by CPC. The logical move is for the ticket to go to AD. If it is going to The AD faction it will not go to Osinbajo for reasons mentioned above, if Tinubu is deemed unsuitable then it will be Fayemi. Could you list the leading candidates during Tafawa, Shagari, OBJ, Yar'dua, Buhari respectively. Let's start from there before I deconstruct your epistle. |

QuotaSystem: Lies and misrepresentation.
Amaechi's proposal wasn't rejected just because of the brand (or lack thereof), but mainly due to a conflict of interest and lack of capacity.
So Amaechi wanted to entrust our railway security to a Papa, Mama & Pikin company with neither the capital nor track record for delivering such a critical project. The jackals even wanted the payment upfront
Osibanjo was indeed a good steward of leadership when he was in acting capacity as President in Buhari's absence. His eagle eyes spotted the irregularities when he presided over the FEC meeting and rejected the proposal accordingly.
No wonder Amaechi was so quick to point fingers and pass blame immediately after the incident. If he had done the right thing in the first place and presented a proposal from a reputable & capable company that wouldn't raise red flags of "conflict of interest", could the unfortunate railway tragedy of last Sunday have been averted? Maybe. Just maybe.
Let us soberly reflect, make amends & give reverence to the innocent departed, and Amaechi's handlers should stop playing petty politics with an avoidable national tragedy . Hmmm! How do we know the papa, mama and pikin company didn't collude with the attackers because of the rejection? Anything is possible in Naija. |

DrGoodman: It's the same sentiments uniting Nigeria since 1970. If there is no Igbos to hate together, Nigeria would have scattered.
Buharri got elected because the Yorubas felt that Jonathan must go, because it was said he was favoring Igbos. An Ijaw man for that matter. Forget the corruption tag he got.
Nnamdi Hero Kanu would have got a standing ovation for his messages of warnings for fulani attrocities on the south, but he is Igbo, so everyone had to love Buharri than listen to the voice of reason.
But their hate is already eating them up, it's one young Igbo doctor today and countless northerners gone. Everyone hates Igbo, yet Hausa worked with them or should say hausas allowed igbo to work with them. An Igbo man, Azikiwe, was second in position in first republic after Balewa. An Igbo man, Ekuweme, was VP of Shagari, yet everyone hates you. These are the lies and hatred they have been passing to you guys from generation to generation. And that's what your politicians use to get votes from you. But at the top, there's no tribal division when they still money. You are a lazy and tribal bigot. Tribalism is the only thing you see as a reason for Jonathan's loss. Jonathan regime was bad, corruption was order of the day. Luckily for him, oil price was $100 average. He didnt save for the raining days. OBJ wiped our debts, while Jonatha allowed the reserved to be looted. He had to go. Didn't the west vote for him in 2011? How come you didnt complain about that? Economy was bad, people wanted changes. Even Saraki and Atiku and many more including some SE and SS left PDP. Even in 2015, SW didn't vote for APC massively. It was 51-49% split to APC-PDP. Jonathan through Mimiko destroyed PDP in Ondo state else PDP would have won easily. The aggrieved people they neglected joined APC. He basically made APC stronger. It was the rest of the south and north that massive rigging took place. Both countered each other. Most Nigerians always vote along the party line irrespective of the candidate depending on the party they belong to. I can assure you that had it been Jonathan crossed to APC in 2015 and Buhari to PDP, SE and SS would voted PDP and see Jonathan as a traitor. SS and SE always vote for PDP irrespective of the candidate. I don't know the right word for it. But it is myopic not to see what you guys are doing wrong but critize a region where true elections(to some extent) always take place. All southwest states have moved btw PDP and other parties except Lagos which has remained AD/ACN since inception. That being said, Jonathan govt was bad. Buhari's worse for sure. It is true that Jonathan neglected southwest, he had bad advisers around him. When it was dawn on him that he would lose the election, he postponed it by 2 weeks, and pumped massive money to SW kings and OPC guys. But it was too late because APC already won many people over. PDP is strong in SW, if he had carried his party member along, he would have won easily. Obj, Saraki, Atiku, Amaechi, Orji Uzor Kalu and so many more left the party....and you still blame the west for Jonathan's weaknesses of surrounding himself with myopic people and bad adviser like you that always see things through ethnic prism. Gani Fawehinmi and other SW were the ones that championed his course to be installed as president when Yar'dua was on a sick bed. Sowore ran the story of how canals are ruling etc. How come you didn't castigate the SW for fighting for Jonathan? The next president that will come will be worse than Buhari until we get our fundamentals right, which are industrialization and make everyone accountable for his or her action. I'm sure during Jona, it was said Obj govt was the best. But I remember we complained during ObJ even saying Abacha's regime was better. During Abacha, we said we shd have continued with IBB that he was way better than Abacha. IBB that we even supported the coup of 1990 just to take him out. We said IBB should have left Buhari to continue that he was doing a good job. But the same Buhari was chased out that heis govt was too hash compare to Shehu Shagari. But during Shagari, it was said that corruption was other of the day that wanted military to take over. I hope you see a pattern. Without going to the building blocks to get it right, in 2023 people will be praising Buhari too. Eventually, stop having a lazy analysis of seeing things through ethnic prism and get ride of yourself of tribal bigotry. Until you get ride of that everyone hates you, you can never have peace. Peace. |

JEWELofHELL666: This is an unpopular opinion, but it's the truth. Chinelo caused her own death.
As a medical doctor, she should know better that a gunshot wound is a medical emergency that requires basic first aid applications like stopping the bleeding, using hand, cloth, etc.
But what did she do? She decided to chase clout by opening her Twitter application and going through the stress of typing "I'm in the train. I have been shot, please pray for me."
This is a bad first aid practice. It changed a lot. The hand she should have used to stop the bleeding was used to call for prayers on Twitter. To her, her followers' superstitious prayers are more effective than first aid.
May her soul rest in peace. Thunder fire you. |

The country is in chaos. There's a terrorist attack, yet the President and Governor of that state haven't addressed the nation. There was a terrorist attacks 'on' Kaduna airport few days earlier, government didn't do Jack. Life continues as usual. Hence the more the terrorists believe they can attack and get away with it. In a sensible country, there would have been a state of emergency after the attack on kaduna airport. These guys called politicians are busy perfecting who will be allowed to steal money in 2023 instead of provide security for the citizens.
There are people like Gumi are known to be terrorist sympathizers, govt of Buhari has done Jack about it. Our border is so porus that people from Niger Republic and non Nigeria fulanis have turned Nigeria to their father land, bringing insecurity, killing unchallenged. Unfortunately the President sees his job to protect his cousins first before protecting Nigerians who (s)elected him.

They voted for OBJ. With Shehu Shagari, Igbo man was the VP. I repeat, Nigerians vote along party line not because of integrity or whatsoever.
