If Jonathan and iwe haram would be brilliant enough to allow him. It is actually not a bad idea. |
Remii: I don't know how this could have effect in far away Lagos. Scientifically, hurricanes that hit US gulf coast starts like small whirl winds in West African and gather speed as they move towards the Americas. Winds are one way traffic including there effects such as ocean surge and the rest, so it will be difficult to expect backlash at the source. For tsunamis that occur as a result of underwater earthquakes, it is understandable if effect is felt in all direction around the source depending on magnitude. Maybe LASG can elaborate further on explanation of their warning.Aburo, ori e pe jare. A very sensible explanation. Soki l'obe oge, kii dun ko po rara. You hammered the isho on the head precisely. |
Elueme: It is a term in psychology.. Prof Freudian was one of the greatest psychologists who made great contributions to the study of psychology.. Freudian ( Frodian) slip is the inadvertent expression of the subconscious mind in place of the real situation. It's a common phenomenon in speech making.. Olodo! There was no Professor Freudian, but Sigmund Freud, the father of Psychology. |
Altruist: i will nt lyk 2 vote an atheist because of some fundanmental xracter he might(not) posses.dey r certain moral value dat is needed in leadership dat a 'proper' average christian possese.an atheist dos nt ve any angle,so he acts only base on his intuition nd dat is very risky,nd u all agree wit me dat certain situatn need som1 wit a gud religious value.dats my opinion.Intuition you say? I doubt! Atheists are guided more by LOGIC rather than irrational intuition. The people that are more likely to act on intuition are the religious people. And do we have examples en mass on Nairaland? Oh yes we do. |
semid4lyfe: That's like asking if I'll vote for Wole Soyinka in an election being contested by him, Andy Uba, Dimeji Bankole and Farouk LawanSoyinka is not an Atheist. He professes Sango and other Yoruba Deities. Solarin on the other hand was a convinced Non-believer. |
obo_man: Another senseless post..... You can't use a handful of minority(KKK), to judge a whole race.....And the fact that the lad resides in a white's man land and having never to have visited his ancestral land makes this utterance even more disturbing. |
esere826: @ OPOn the contrary, there are Ilaje people on the fishing trawlers in Spain I suppose. There are a lot of them in that part of Europe doing what they learn to do from infancy - fishing fishes. Ilaje and Ijaw people are not water scared folks. The ones that fear water are mostly " awon Ara-oke". On the air thing, I believe the service orientation of an average Nigerian, especially those ones not exposed to what is called "service" could explain why they are less considered for the job aside security concerns. Stewarding / hosting requires profesional friendly manners. If you have experienced service in Nigeria and some other places of the world, you would know that on average, you do not get quality for your money in Nigeria. Nigeria is a desert place regarding professional occupational politeness. Thats my view! |
COMMONWEALTHbeing denied. This is to say, no wealth is common in the COMMONWEALTH |
Herr uncle is against it, so are her parents. If anything goes wrong, the blame is gonna lie squarely at your feet. If you dont buy and she eventually find an Aristo that did for her at the college, her "family" will blame themselves. Experience of the crazy Nigerian society, teaches that one should not unnecessarily show more concern than the concerned. Else, you will be the sole scapegoat if anything goes wrong. Atleast you have convinced your oga... |
Ninapha: u are d evidence we need. Report urself to d appropriate authorities for thinkn this way.If he is the evidence you need, then the jungle that is Nigeria is a whole long way far from being civilized. If you say you have witnessed it, what have you done about it? Have you reported it? I hope you know it is part of your duties and obligation to report such illegalities. |

Meedu: SOURCE PLS. DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ. I HOPE ITS TRUE, BUT WE NEED CONFIRMATION BEFORE WE GIVE CREDIT TO THIS FORUM.If you are in Lagos, what does it take you to confirm the news? Take a transport to the place and confirm with your korokoro oju. |
baqina: It depends on how you look at it.I love Nigeria, but it is really very difficult to be proud of that country. How can I be proud of FAILURE? I hope this sleepy GIANT wakes up from it deep slumber. I am less optimistic in this regard though, because the young ones that are calling the elderly thieves are even more kleptomanic than the old ones. For they would like to ride HUMMER JEEP, FERARRI, LAMBOGHINI, MASERATI etc. without SWEATING. Nigeria a highly disorganized and corrupt country, and it not only the politicians that are so even though a lot of people blame them for that. We need a revolution in that den of thieves. |
SlyIg: If we were to take everything about this country so serious, that means most of us would have high blood pressure. Its better we take things so light and free ridiculously. You are absolutely RIGHT!!! The problem is, I cant afford not to give a damm like the president of Nigeria. |
Joeadamu86: I am crazy about my country Nigeria Jo,anybody wey no dey proud, may him go Syria,Iraq or Somalia......Naija for live...Dont let anybody deceive you, those 2 countries a far more developed than Nigeria. You can not compare Alepo the biggest city in Syria to Lagos and neither their capital city Damascus to Abuja. It is a WORLD apart. BTW, Syria is not an OPEC country. The advantages they have over Nigeria is that they are a very OLD country and their population is ca. ten times less than that of Nigeria. Besides, they are not as diverse ethnically as Nigeria. As a matter of fact, Damascus, Bagdad, Alepo etc. are some of the oldest places continously inhabited by human beings in the world. Igimu jina sori o jare. |
emmysenior: God bless Nigeria! If we don't pray for our country, then, who will pray in our stead? It's better to pray for a scintillating turn around instead of ridiculling her. GOD bless Nigeria! We dont need to pray for Nigeria. If we put in our efort for Nigeria to work, it would surprise you that that will be more effective than wasting our times praying. A lot of people in Nigeria without bias or favour need to be taken to the firing range and summarily executed. |
I just dont understand why it is difficult for a lot of people here to comprehend the term "fatally injured". As Okija RIGHTLY said, the 3 people DIED like in kpeme, kapput, gone with the wind etc. pp. |
FSU: Have you ever seen an Hausa-Fulani Artisan?Have you been to Hausaland and not seen them repair their honda cars themselves? Or is it your people that help them to build and maintain their houses? I think you should travel to Kano, Bauchi, Sakoto, Daura, Kaura Namoda, Malumfashi etc. to deepen your research. |
Never argue with an i.diot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. |
Ko s'ogbon to le da Ko s'ona to le gba, to le fi te aiye l'orun o... Aahhhh, orin awa agba iwoyi, omode ano niyen o. Dapo, orin e yi ko baje, sugbon ko jelenkious, ko tun milikious fun awa baba miliki. Sibesibe, ko di wa l'owo lati ba yin se ewe. Carry over. Oops, carry go. |
Ntom: Does FRSC do a background check or test on how competent a driver is before issuing the drivers licence or is it still business as usual, issuing to every tom and harry?Dont mind them jare. They have to test the practical and theoretical capability to use the roads. |
maimalari: In addition, the Nigerian government knows those throwing those bombs here and there; the intelligent agencies know them, but they believe that touching them would cause problems, so no one is doing any thing, as long as they are bombing human beings and not pipelines. Any day these terrorists touches an oil pipeline, that would be the end of the group and their bombs. In Nigeria, a drop of oil is worth more than five liters of blood, because blood does not swell bank accounts of our corrupt politicians, who happened to steal themselves to power. If MEND changes plans today and starts bombing human beings instead of pipelines, JTF would die a natural death. Nigeria is not a country, it is a theater of macabre dance, where there are no rules, every body displays his/her skills in any style or form he/she is comfortable with. No restrictions no regulations. This is a very intelligent disection of the Nigerian "malade". Godfatherism or the politics of Untouchables is part of what is causing the Nigerian sickness. |

Danka7777: Can you upload a google earth view of the Presidential Villa, close-up view? Don't ask me why; just do it. He does not need to do it. You can do that yourself. Google will help you with your browser and a fast internet connection. Just go to http://maps.google.com and navigate to Nigeria, zoom in on Abuja and change from topographic to satellite view and voila, you can see Aso villa. I have to warn you though that Nigeria hasn't got a very detailed map, therefore, dont expect the same detailed resolution you would get in the developed countries. |
@All who are getting too excited and yabbing Yorubas because of a sectional satellite views of Ibadan and Akure should please use their intelligence. Many Towns in Yorubaland have been populated before the colonialists came around. The planning of Enugu and Aba were done during the colonial time. There are well planned areas in Ibadan too. If you want to see more detailed map of Nigeria, you really dont need the google earth standalone program, you can do it with your browser. Just navigate to http://maps.google.com/. Scroll to the map of Nigeria and change to "satellite view". You can see detail maps of major Nigerian settlements. |
Kobojunkie: Lagos was also not as populated as you have it today. Pre-third mainland bridge, the population was still in the 1-3 million range. And not a lot of motorists on the roads as we had LSTC, way for efficient than what you have today, back then. Molues gained popularity in the late 80's/early 90's when LSTC developed serious issues due mostly to the change in regimes and lack of effective funding and maintenance.During the time of LSTC or before during LMTS, there was BOLEKAJA for the poor folks. MOLUE ushered in the demise of the BOLEKAJA. We also had AKOYOYO (Ware transporters). As had been said, there were fewer people, less vehicles, and most especially, there was some ORDERliness. Babangida changed all that!] |
salakobaba: IF help had come early, the over140 persons, who died in the Dana commercial air plane crash at Iju, Lagos, yesterday might have saved, residents have said.I think it is about time NIGERIANS start using their sense. Ahahaaa! Does this story appear logical? Haa, wahala Naijiriya sese bere! No sense, no break, no jam... jorojarajoro. afrobaby: 20 minutes, why didnt the pilot open d door or even window for passengers to jump out since it was already on a building, why didnt the residents of the building run, oh my God, what a country we areHear yourself, does it make sense to you? |
