PhonesRe: Windows Phone 8 Users Review. by Ilaje44(m): 8:02am On May 18, 2013
TrebleChamp: Hello nairalanders, pls can we get (users) review on d features of windows phone 8 OS?
1. How good is d multitasking e.g how many apps can i run at the same time?
2. Can i transfer and receive files through blutooth?
3. Can i play HD games like Temple Run 2, Shadow Gun, GTA, etc
4. Does the OS allow apps to run at the background like Android does (those running apps consume alot of data and its really annoying)?
5. Do we get some of the features of windows 8 like microsoft office and all?
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
Windows Phone 8 (wp8) does not allow Multitasking like you have in Android, but it does allow some level of multi tasking.

Yes you can transfer data through bluetooth, but due to security reason, not all file formats are allowed.

The game you can play depends on availability and your own hardware. In theory, you can play all games on all WP8 devices. However, in some very rare cases, games do require a minimum of 1gb of RAM. That would mean devices like Nokia Lumia 52x, 62x, 72x; HTC 8S, Huawei W1 are left out of the action. Generally, games do play very smoothly on all WP devices, even better than on equivalent Android devices.

Some apps do work in the background, but you can control which app is allowed to work in the background, except the essential ones that the OS requires. It is advisable to limit the amount of background apps, so as to avoid quicker battery drain. If you are a Skype user, you would like how it works on wp8.

Microsoft Office is never a feature of Windows. It is an independent programme by itself. However, mobile office is bundled with wp8 @ no extra cost. You have WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and ONE NOTE bundled with wp8 and Windows RT only. For all other Windows, you have to purchase Office separately.

The majority of the people misinterpreting the article can not be said to have enjoyed FREE EDUCATION. English is a foreign language, and this incident here gives wings to my argument that we should promote our languages. Education and research in the mother tongue is the key to sound knowledge.
PoliticsRe: Will NTA Ever Improve Their Pictures? by Ilaje44(m): 9:43am On May 16, 2013
Afam4eva: NTA is still living in the past. Their pictures of 2013 looks like something that was filmed before NIgeria gained independence. That's what you get when you employ federal character in an industry that is supposed to be managed by technocrats. If we want to move forward as a Nation, we must do away with this disease called "Federal character".
There is nothing wrong with federal character if the people were properly trained. The system is not bad in itself, it's just the abuse of it that has flawed it.

Your argument is very valid. The victim was said to have been strangled. There must be more than one person involved, but the whole could not have committed the murder. One or more persons were definitely involved, while some just might have aided the actual murderers.

IslamRe: Girls Face Jail For Mixing Islamic Prayer With Dancing To Pop Song by Ilaje44(m): 5:08am On May 16, 2013
Mozehh: A lot of people seem to be missing the point here. The basic problem is that of mixing beliefs (on which none has conclusive proofs) with the laws guiding the administration of a state. There are no such things as ISLAMIC and CHRISTIAN countries. Only countries where the majority of people are either muslim or christian. If your country is majorly inhabited by muslims (or christians) and you choose to run it by sharia law (or whatever the christian version of that is, if any), that's fine as long as it suits the majority. *Occurences such as this one are what really drives me crazy. It shows how ignorant some people can be*. However, your law should also include banning things like the internet (on which you know youths can watch or listen to corruptive music or where people from other regions can blaspheme or corrupt your beliefs and incite violence). The freedom and open-mindedness of a group of people was what allowed them to advance as a species (referring to technologically advanced countries). It is odd, sad even, that these bigoted countries want such technological advancements without the freedom. How much sadder it must even be for you if you live your life thinking that all you do is right and all another person does is wrong and that somehow you have been given the power to condemn them or correct them. You have a brain, you have a mind. THINK!!!
Indonesia is light years ahead of Nigeria technologically. And it's actually a very open and multi religious society. However, they do have their fair share of religious fanatics. Nevertheless, they are still much better than Arabs or Pakis. And Indonesia does really invest in education. They send their young people abroad on scholarship, unlike Nigeria. In the early 1990s, I had the opportunity to have met a lot of people from that country, very nice and friendly, and I am not a Muslim, unlike my experience with a fellow Nigerian from Kano, who only associated with "Muslims". Indonesia is not what you think.

Ki lo fe fa ikilo oshi yi ke?

When I saw the video, I actually forgot about the religious issue. The thing I noticed was the quality of the classroom. Imagine a remote village/town having such a good infrastructure. In Nigeria, many a lot of city schools are not as good. Despite corruption, Indonesia is developing and advancing technologically. I wish I could go see the magic they are doing with palm oil and rubber.
FamilyRe: Best Places In The World To Have A Baby by Ilaje44(m): 9:48am On May 15, 2013
pappy2000: Thinking
of having a baby? You may want to consider moving to Finland -- the
best place in the world to be a mother, according to Save the Children's
14th Mothers' Index.
The index, part of the group's annual State of the World's Mothers
report, is intended to illustrate the link between maternal and child
well-being. Each year, nearly three million babies die within their
first month of life -- more than a third die on their day of birth --
and 287,000 women die from pregnancy or childbirth, according to the
report.
The index ranked countries according to five indicators of a mother's
well-being: maternal health (the risk of maternal mortality); children's
well-being (the mortality rate of children under five); educational
status (number of years of formal schooling a woman receives); and
political status (the participation of women in national government).
Finland was followed closely by its Nordic neighbors and other Western
European countries. Australia was the only non-European country to place
in the top 10.
The United States ranked 30th, performing poorly in under-five mortality
rates, maternal death, and political participation, compared to other
highly-developed countries.
Industrialized countries account for only 1% of newborns dying on their
first day of life, but among them the U.S. has the highest mortality
rate, with approximately 11,300 deaths each year. The report attributed
this to the country's high rate of premature births (one in eight
births) -- the second highest in the industrialized world.
The U.S. also has the highest teenage birth rate of any industrialized
country -- and teenage mothers in the U.S. tend to have less education,
prenatal care, and financial resources than their older counterparts.
Sub-Saharan African countries ranked as the 10 worst places to be a
mother, with the Democratic Republic of the Congo coming in last place.
While newborn, child, and maternal death rates have declined across the
developing world in the past two decades, the report found that progress
has been the slowest in this region. Developing countries lack basic
healthcare for women and their babies before, during, and after
delivery, accounting for the majority of newborn and maternal deaths.
The Mothers' Index ranked 176 countries -- all countries are included
except those with insufficient data or a national population below
100,000.
Top 10
1. Finland
2. Sweden
3. Norway
4. Iceland
5. Netherlands
6. Denmark
7. Spain
8. Belgium
9. Germany
10. Australia
Bottom 10
167. Cote d'Ivoire
168. Chad
169. Nigeria
170. Gambia
171. Central African Republic
172. Niger
173. Mali
174. Sierra Leone
175. Somalia
176. Democratic Republic of the Congo

Old Lagos transport "bole kaja ". It existed before the popular molue. Common in the 70's and early 80's. If u saw it then u are above 35.
If you saw or ever entered it......comment or hit like.

Children don't even hit like or I will flog ur bombom. Yes you.! wink wink wink grin
It was no more common in the 80s. It was only used as akoyoyo in the early 80s. Molue has already displaced it by the late 70s. I dont remember to have entered it during Shagari time. The last time I took it was during the first Obasanjo era. It was from Ojota to Idumota. The old Carter bridge was still there back then.

This is what Surface looks like. It functions as both a Tablet and Laptop. MsOffice also an addendum. As a multiple tablets user, I can say, this is revolutionary. Every tablet user needs a laptop at one point or the other, but WIndows Surface functions as tablet and laptop. Bill Gates is perfectly right.
Bolded is true for Surface RT, but not the Surface PRO which is the REAL Laptab.

Billyonaire: Lagos is actually Over-hyped. We have few good roads compared to other states in Nigeria that I have visited and the traffic situation is unforgivable. Even Osun and Ekiti States have excellent roads on the hinterland. Apart from VI/Lekki/Ikoyi axis of Lagos, the rest of Lagos is just terrible. This is not politics, it is the truth.
You certainly do not know Lagos, if you can boldly say the above.

PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Really Unsafe? by Ilaje44(m): 6:17am On Apr 26, 2013
PHIPEX: I don't get it when some Nigerians make fast comparisms between Nigeria and America; how reasonable is it to compare a first world nation against a nation that is still ranked in the 3rd world category? A reasonable comparism should be Nigeria against the likes of Egypt, South Africa, Mexico and the likes. If you compare Nigeria to Britain and America you'll easily conclude that Nigeria is not safe but if we are reasonable enough to compare the country against her mates like India and the Arab countries then we may appreciate the country better.

America should be compared against Britain while Nigeria should be compared against South-Africa.
If you compare Nigeria to Egypt or South Africa, you will still found out that Nigeria is bleeped up. Those two countries have a relatively working judiciary compared to the institutional desert we have in Nigeria. If you care, go to Sa or Egypt, you wont find officials harassing you at the airport and non official person eager also to take you out.
