LordReed:No, i didn't check if you are following her, i noticed you were quoting/mentioning her posts/threads. i was referring to the fact that my following you isn't a secret or new development. Your understanding of the platitude is likely the problem. When people say God is not late, it is with an understanding of His own time and terms. They are not saying that "bad" things don't happen, but that ALL things work together for good to them who love God. They know that despite tribulations and trials, they trust in God and have overcome the world. These are people who believe in an afterlife(a glorious and eternal one at that). They are people who know and accept that the will and wisdom of God is better than life. You on the other hand think that life is all there is to it. |
MyExpression:i guess you're struggling with the definition of perfection then. |
LordReed:Lol, mental construct indeed. Psalms 136:4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalms 138:6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off. If you draw near to God in humility, He will reveal what you need. He's not at your mercy or beck and call. Those who know God know that He'd not usually reveal or say things irrelevant for the fun of it, neither does He engage in gossip and tattling. If God has a message or sends you to someone or people, that's different. He could send specifically to bless or warn. Like i explained, what you seek for is close to what is called the gift of the Word of knowledge(one of the gifts of the Spirit baptism). Fortunately or unfortunately for you, i don't have it. It's not a major requirement for being a Christian or a child of God. Nonetheless, there are people who have it. It hardly proves anything that you haven't met people who do. You can meet 2 million people and none of them is a pilot, or from Switzerland. It doesn't mean that pilots and Swiss people don't exist. It simply means you should increase your search intelligence and base seeing you're looking for them. i can't repair your broken phone or TV to save my life, but i have met people who can. We don't all do or know the same things. On the attraction, it is divine actually. |
ObaOfUyo:Do you speak English? |
LordReed:Good to make you glad, anyone can see your followers and i suppose those that you follow. It's like this for everyone, nothing strange. Neither is it the first time of your knowing that i follow your posts on the forum. You don't need to assume when i have previously disclosed. My issue remains with you because you brought/bring up what she did not say or accept. She already told you that there are things she doesn't know, and that nobody disagrees with the OP. How then should i have any issue with her? |
ObaOfUyo:You're welcome. |
MyExpression:i don't assume, it was clearly stated. |
LordReed:Not really sure what you need me to say in this. As the passage states, they resurrected AFTER His resurrection. Clearly, the event did not happen at the time of Jesus' death. The style of the apostle's writing is not necessarily chronological. It's not like he went to some literature school or college, he's just narrating events. This pattern is seen in other parts of the Gospel and even Bible. For example, Matthew 24 is not wholly chronological. It's not a movie or film, neither is he compulsorily going to put flashback signs. This is writing from centuries ago(from Galilee) when writing was not as developed as today. We are not told much about who the saints are/were. So we cannot authoritatively say or establish. The Word is usually established by two or three witnesses. But just like every other resurrection in the scriptures(except Jesus'), they would probably have died again, or it could be the pattern of appearance of Moses and Elijah. Not many people really care, because it is of course insignificant to our salvation or faith. They are simply events that happened and that God can do, and that we believe God will do in future(the believers await the resurrection/rapture). |
LordReed:good joke. |
LordReed:Don't overrate yourself, unfortunately for you, God is not very eager to tell me about you(who cares but you maybe). He's not playing games like you assume. God will usually tell you things that are useful to you about you. He's not going to tell useless information because reed is looking for it. If you seek/search diligently, you will find God. There is nothing juvenile about adultery, it is usually done by adults. So do not go near or attempt it. |
LordReed:i can't assume that she thinks God is late if any Christian dies or is killed. She did not say that, you are the one insistent. On the other hand, you had been following her from thread to thread/post as it became noticeable. That is definitely an attraction, i hope not a bad one though. Like i am attracted to you enough to follow you . You see, not all attraction is bad. You cannot realistically keep talking passionately about what does not exist. Is there an example of anything or anyone else that you talk so passionately about, both existing and non-existing? |
LordReed:Lol, i connect you seem to have some attraction for the OP. She's married and you are oh. Are you saying that you would believe God if He reveals where you live or something? That's weirdly funny. There are people that know stuff about others without even being Christian, you need to explore farther than you know. In Christianity, what you are asking for is called a gift of the Word of knowledge. Not everyone has it, but there are people who do. The gifts are not toys/games BTW. |
LordReed:Like i said, she is not mentioning names. i can't assume that she thinks God is late if any Christian dies or is killed. You certainly think God is late when Christians die, so i address that. This is not lateness if you know God. |
LordReed:You're the one calling names, not the OP. The OP hardly thought God was late for these people, you certainly think so. |
Righteousness2:Sheath this sword already please. Jesus Christ didn't send anyone to take stands for or against vaccines. This sort of thing ends up bringing ridicule to the Body and unbelief/confusion to many who do work that nobody sent them. |
Righteousness2: Brother, stay with the Bible. Vaccine doesn't carry DNA of the beast. It's your choice if you don't want to take it, but don't spiritualize it. |
LordReed:You surely can't have heard of folks like Horatio Spafford or Annie Johnson Flint. You assume Christianity is all these jamboree you see on TV/media. SMH Get real, go deep and stop embarrassing yourself with these 1mm depth of theology. |
LordReed:By it not hindering His will. |
LordReed:The person OP sang mostly and said God is not late. You slighted it in another context. If God watched Jesus Christ and the early disciples die, why do you reason that He would not allow any Christian die? |
LordReed:It's a good laugh, isn't it? |
LordReed:You brought up Halloween, i didn't. You were appealing to the popular view and celebration of Halloween, remember? And i showed the difference. CE dates and motives are a direct reference to Christ and Christianity, we should not shy away from that. |
LordReed:It's you who is bringing up Munroe on a public forum. i have to publicly remind you about Jesus and God. |
LordReed:The point is very clear. Ask 10 people who celebrate Halloween today if they know the origin is Christian, you will hardly see 2 that know. Then check how it is being celebrated to how it was, the difference is very clear. It is not same for BC or CE. CE is not even known as common era or known at all by some. |
LordReed:Of course, i knew you can't bring up an example of a writing that you accept from 2000years ago and let's compare. It's very easy and lazy to criticize. We see people criticize leaders, students writing exams, sportsmen etc. everytime. Get in the ring and do, you'll start fiddling. Just like the idiom of using your mouth to fly a plane. If you feel you are intelligent or intellectual enough to criticize a writing, simply bring the one you accept and approve and let's use the same scale. Otherwise, remain what you are showing up to be, a lazy armchair critic. |
LordReed:That's the very question i answered with a rhetorical question. If you think, you'd see that worse death happened to Jesus and even the early Christians. It has nothing to do with God sleeping. Follow the Bible and not man made traditions and assumptions. |
LordReed:This is the very point you are bringing up, no enlightened person argues against the fact of Christ's existence and resurrection. The dates and calendars refer to it. CE is founded on it with consideration for non Christians. Halloween was started by some Christians in memorial of some "saints". What we know as Halloween today and the majority who celebrate Halloween today don't know or consider that. So it is two different Halloweens as it were. But CE is CE, BC is BC, AD is AD. |
LordReed:It's not a ridicule but another fact. Bring up an example of a writing that you accept from 2000years ago and let's compare, otherwise you are being the lazy armchair critic. It was the life work of the disciples to talk about the resurrection, but you are believing others as ESTABLISHED because of the same purpose when it suits your narrative. Of course, you are not naive enough to think that there are not people with your same criteria on the other side of the divide. |
LordReed:Every death is avoidable including Calvary. Was God on holiday when Jesus was being crucified or it was His perfect will? |
LordReed:Lol, the place i quoted is also found in the link, isn't it? So why conveniently avoid it? This one you keep quoting still talks about "Ecclesiastical calendar" which was still Christian in origin. This is an alternative that started more than 1500years after. The same article says the reason of use was for religious neutrality (used by others who wish to be sensitive to non-Christians). The same origins part you are quoting from said "The year numbering system used with Common Era notation was devised by the Christian monk Dionysius Exiguus". Of course, you should know that Dionysus was the man with the AD. i really don't see how you are arguing that the light outside has nothing to do with the sun. |
LordReed:Who established it and how was it established if i may ask? It's very convenient to disregard the accounts seeing you have no parallel work from 2000years ago that can be used to compare. You bring up any writing work from 2000years ago and above that you accept, then let's compare. Otherwise, you remain the usual lazy armchair critic. |
LordReed:Who are the other people, they were all eyewitnesses as it is written. John, Peter, Matthew clearly show the change. Radical change is a very good indicator that something happened, religion or not. You're not a historian, so why are you rejecting what the historians say because it doesn't suit your beliefs? You don't have anything, but you are rejecting what is available. That's serious unseriousness. |
LordReed:Why is cause, you cannot delete or separate the why from the origin. |
