It is still within the ambit of CHANGE.

Destroying important Democratic institutions will be the worst legacy this administration will forever be remembered for.

What is APC looking for in rivers state, for Christ sake?

Is it a must to govern people who rejected you like Ebola?

Such obsession, I have never seen.
As an educated person, kindly reason logically and state categorically how APC is destroying anything, or show how APC is making it a must to govern?

You people complain like illiterates about everything, and know next to nothing. Are you not satisfied already that they were declared winners? Must they have same remarks in their front, like that adds anything. Returned people are RETURNING, they've been there before, not new or freshly elected. For instance, Buhari may be returned as President in 2019. He was elected in 2015.

PDP!!! Power to the People!!!
The contention is not on whether PDP is Rivers state, we know they've been since 1999 and old habits die hard. The issue is the eroding of the right to vote and be voted for, been threatened by the PDP in Rivers state. The violence and open threats in this election and last year's election is uncalled for. Wike is educated and allegedly a lawyer, but was found threatening death to inec officials. How do you work or vote in such an environment, where people are beheaded for not being a PDP member? That's not democracy. And if not for heavy security presence, loss of lives will be more, what kind of election and leadership instigates its people to violence? Would you smile if Buhari instigates people to kill during elections?

Any literate could read in the dailies that the current government met about $30billion in the federal reserves and $2billion in the excess crude account. Oshomole and co were even talking about it then. The issue was that they equally met debt of about the same amount, making it virtually empty. Note the adjective "virtually" which Buhari used to qualify the situation. It is not a revelation except you were in coma then.

Depends on many things. What's the state IGR? Are they paying salaries? Obviously, the state is settling its debts AGGRESSIVELY. In some months, they may be debt free, depending on arrangements. Some other states are collecting billions in allocation but have irresponsibly left huge debts for the next generation to battle in decades, yet not paying salaries or doing tangible projects.

Politics › Re: Buhari’s Many Failed Promises - Vangaurd by Image123(m): 11:12pm On Mar 11, 2016
blueto:
WHEN in 2015, President Muhamadu Buhari,PMB, won the Presidential election after a keen contest with the then incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, most Nigerians were happy thinking that the “messiah” that will take Nigerians from the woods to the “Promised Land” had come. Many, also jubilated with the firm belief that the ‘’change’’ which he and his Party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, promised Nigerians was certainly going to transform Nigeria.
Who are these most Nigerians, the South South or the South East? Fayose or who? It is the people who voted for Buhari that were happy that he won and are expecting change. The people who did not vote for him are not expecting change but are looking for any opportunity to say "i told you". The people who voted him in will wait four years to determine if indeed things changed for better or not. One PDP Jim Moses should not come and tell us rubbish.

But with just about 100 days to the end of his first year in office, PMB is still apportioning blames rather than proffering solutions. Rather than shop for those that will help him fix the nation’s bleeding economy, President Buhari is busy globetrotting; spending the little resources that Nigeria is left with abroad and returning back home with little or no results for his missions abroad.
Diplomatic trips are not like your usual 'Daddy/Mummy buy chinchin when you are coming' trips. Mr Jim is very naive to expect Buhari to come in with bags of foreign currency, or with investors in his plane. These are gradual process and the results are already coming in. The US, Italy, Germany are already sending in potential investors. Millions of dollars have also been given to Nigeria to help fight terrorism and rebuild the North East by the way. Not to mention the military trainings and weapons from countries like France and the United States. You need to know and state as a fact how much Buhari spends on a trip for you to be able to say that he is spending the little resources Nigeria is left with abroad. That is a baseless and ignorant statement.

I am calling for the humble resignation of Mr. President because of the following obvious reasons:

Failed Promises

During the 2015 presidential electioneering campaigns, PMB, promised to make the Naira equivalent to the United States of America Dollar. With this pronouncement, most of us where happy since our economy is an import dependent one. As at May 29, 2015, when he assumed office, the value of the Naira to the Dollar, in the black market was N195.00 against its current rate of N385.00. As a result of this, cost of almost every commodity in the market has skyrocketed.
And a newspaper actually published this? That is unfortunate. Buhari never promised to make the Naira equivalent to the United States of America Dollar. Unfortunately, the APC is not saying anything much to counter these lies, and over time they tend to be taken as truths. Even APC members will be confused as to what exactly was done or said because lies have been given space to reign and grow. Another lie is that black market rate was not N195 to a dollar as at May 29, 2015. Even the official rate was not N195, why lie blatantly? Do two wrongs make a right?

Just few months ago, his government announced that 500,000 unemployed graduates where to be employed as teachers. Again, this was greeted with much applause. But just recently, the PMB led government announced that these teachers would be trained under its social welfare scheme to serve as voluntary teachers; what a deceit.
The writer is a confused fellow no doubts. And did this actually make a space in the dailies, that is unfortunate. Are the editors not paid? Anyways, the point been presented is a non-issue and baseless speculation.

Unpreparedness for leadership

To prove PMB’s unpreparedness for leadership, in April 2015, after the Presidential election, he mentioned to Nigerians that he was not sure that former President Goodluck Jonathan will concede defeat. To further buttress this position, it took President Buhari about seven months to appoint his ‘’saints’’ Ministers. Ministers without any allegation of fraud. To make matters worse, it took Buhari nine months to discover that the recently sacked 26 Agency heads were working for the PDP, as announced by the APC Chairman, Chief John Odijie-Oyegun.
The time one appoints ministers is not a mark or sign of preparedness. Anyone can have a clique ready that he will appoint to power, that is not necessarily preparedness for leadership.

Budget Padding

Again, to show how unserious he takes the business of Nigeria, it is taking the President too long to get the 2016 budget passed. His “Zero-based” budget of 6 trillion for the “change” agenda, presented with so much fanfare, expected to perform wonders for Nigerians, has been rejected by the National Assembly because of massive blunders discovered in the document after it was initially declared missing.

What does PMB and his APC Led government take Nigerians for? According to the late reggae icon, Bob Marley, you can fool some people sometimes but you can’t fool all the people all the time.
It is the NASS that passes the budget, not the President. Don't be so blatantly ignorant and wrong. Also, the budget was not rejected by NASS, they are supposedly debating it and should pass it next week. This writer knows next to nothing about politics or governance to be writing in newspapers. Maybe he should settle for reggae music.

With reference to the controversial budget, full of concocted huge sums of Naira, with so many so-called errors attributed to the Presidency, how can a government that means well for its citizens plan a higher budget for its Ministry of Information against a lesser one for the Ministry of Agriculture in a country plagued by poverty, hunger and starvation? Or is this deliberate in other to equip the Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, for what he knows how to do best; propaganda.

How did N5 million proposed for buying computers for the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and the Film and Video Censors Board mysteriously became N398 million? What error accounts for the N3.8 billion allocated for capital projects at the State House Clinic meant for the president, vice-president and their families alone; compared to the N2.6 billion allocated for all the 17 government teaching hospitals nationwide.

Based on the foregoing, is the budget truly a reflection of how PMB loves Nigerians and the Nigeria he once cried for? Is it also a true reflection of the “change” he promised? What brands of tyres, batteries, fuses, c-caution signs, fire extinguishers and towing ropes will amount to more than quarter of a billion Naira of tax payers’ money, considering the fact that this budget is just for one year and that some of the listed items come with brand new cars. How can a President who claims to be fighting corruption present such a budget?
Even Buhari has criticised the budget already, so you are late. The budget is an improved version(unfortunately) of past budgets by the way.

Exposing Nigeria to external aggression

President Buhari goofed seriously when he made the Dasukigate investigation public. Even in the advanced world, matters of national security are handled secretly on-the-need-to-know bases. But in PMB’s case, he preferred to make a big show with it thereby exposing the nation’s vulnerability and susceptibility to external military aggression and possible invasion by any country; no matter how small that may want to display its military might and superiority. PMB, in doing this, forgot he took an oath to protect Nigerians.
Gibberish. Dasuki mismanaging and diverting money meant for arms purchase is not a secret matter.

Lack of tolerance for the opposition

PMB’s intolerance for the opposition remains unparalleled. He has not congratulated any governor in the opposition political parties who emerged victorious in any election, since he assumed office as President. This may also be the reason his anti corruption fight is perceived to be a vendetta mission, an attempt to reduce the opposition to nothing. This writer is not against the anti corruption stance of Mr. President but his approach is seriously assuming a dangerous dimension; Nigerians are watching.
Who has congratulatory messages helped? You should be thankful that he did not interfere with the process of governorship elections like GEJ.

PMB’s corruption war seems to be targeted and limited to the Jonathan’s administration. Is PMB telling Nigerians that previous administrations were corruption free? Or is it because Dr. Jonathan did not in the military? What are the reasons for limiting this fight to Jonathan’s administration and the PDP alone? What about the men in his cabinet, whose names are associated with so many alleged corruption issues? Is PMB surrounded by saints, is he saying that all present and former governors of the APC are corruption free or they never corruptly enriched themselves? In about three months , his administration will be one year. Nigeria needs a president that can move her forward not one that has taken her 30 years backwards.
A fight has to start from somewhere, it is only reasonable that he starts with the immediate past, which by the way was dont flagrantly and with publicised impunity. GEJ, Deziani, Patience Jonathan, NOI and many others are names associated with so many alleged corruption issues too, have they been picked up? Must he pick everybody at once, when the previous refused to even pick anybody?

What about his party leaders who have been alleged to have converted state government properties into their personal properties? Why has PMB refused to tell Nigerians the source of funding for his electioneering campaigns and how those who funded it with billions of Naira acquired such stupendous wealth? What about the numerous under aged Nigerians that voted for him in the northern part of the country which may have contributed to his emergence as president; has he made any categorical statement to condemn this act? How can a President, who was corruptly voted into power fight corruption? How can a President whose election campaigns were corruptly funded by corrupt persons who allegedly corruptly enriched themselves fight corruption?
The source of funding for his electioneering campaigns were definitely not money meant for arms purchase or to fight boko haram. Investigation was done on why the army could not fight boko haram and it is the culprits that we are all seeing. Investigation was not done on PDP or APC's election money, remember. Making empty allegations make you empty. Bring out proofs, not propaganda.

President Muhamadu Buhari should resign as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Nigeria’s business is a serious one; not meant for people who lack vision to move the nation forward. Nigerians are tired of his anti corruption mission which is not even yielding fruits. His anti corruption fight is seriously hemorrhaging the nation’s economy. Nigerians are hungry. And rather than spend the past 9 months since he assumed office to fight hunger, starvation, poor health care delivery systems, and shelter for the homeless, PMB has been busy junketing the entire globe and painting Nigerians black as corrupt people.
Resign for who? Fayose, or Jonathan or Sambo? Who? What happened to democracy? Was he not voted in? Should we call Obama or Trump the serious ones to come and be President?

Is it his war against corruption that has refused to yield results as buttressed by a recent statement by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss, Ibrahim Magu, that “senior lawyers are frustrating the war against corruption? Is it his victory over Boko Haram which he claimed can no longer carry out any conventional attack yet they bombed Maiduguri, Borno State capital, killing and injuring scores? The same Boko haram bombed an IDP camp too killing and injuring scores of harmless women and children he swore to protect. And just recently, the same group of terrorists razed Mala Keri in Konduga Local Gorvernment Area of Borno State. Is it the “padded zero-based” budget of “change” corruptly designed to enrich some pockets which they also claimed some rats smuggled some items into it, as reported by the BBC or the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which he recently pronounced was a creation of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration? Would it be only the Dasukigate? Of what immediate benefit is Dasukigate to Nigerians compared with the sorry state of the Naira or faulty policies like the one which has caused even students inability to pay their school fees abroad?
Rants of a wailer. Go and sit down and clean your Pvoter's card every morning till 2023.

President Mohamadu lacks clues on how to move Nigeria forward. He also lacks the capacity to be Nigeria’s president. This is because he equally lacks ideas on how to diversify the economy of this great nation blessed with abundant natural and human resources. His team also lacks cutting edge ideas that will take Nigeria out of the woods. They have nothing new to offer as his “miracle making” and “saints” ministers are of the old school or old brigade with little or no achievements to show in their past leadership roles except for Babatunde Raji Fashola.

Nigeria, a country with about 220 million people does not need a president that lacks a 22nd century vision. We need one with solutions to her challenges. The kind of president that can set the propellers and the turbines of Nigeria’s economy running rather than bringing it to a total halt; a president that can place the most black nation in the world, in its rightful place, in the committee of nations.

What a blatant attempt at a cop-out. The things that God commanded in the Old Testament did not just disappear from history ("history" ) once the New Testament was written. The truth still stands that your God once promoted rapes, slavery, baby-killings, murder of innocents for the crimes of their ancestors (& plenty of other ill justifications) and various other heinous atrocities that would compete with the doings of today's worst terrorists. Yahweh is a murderous psychopath and his morals are not to be trusted.
Welcome, were you sleeping before or you forgot the lessons that were taught you in primary school about tenses? You've been ranting about the Bible commanding us to rape and kill and whatever else that makes you mad, i had to be blatant to remind you that the Bible doesn't. Again, your family members, your grandma and grandpa, your neighbours, your colleagues in school, some of your teachers, they all read the Bible. Some are even ardent readers and followers. i am certain you do not understand english than them or read better than all of them. They are not inclined to stone or rape or chop hands. Evidently, the problem is with you.

And you just dug yourself into a logic trap by admitting that Old Testament Law was nullified once the New Testament came along (which is debatable anyway according to Matthew 5:17: "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose." ). Because that would show that indeed, God's supposed perfect moral standards did change at least once. If it was perfect to begin with then changes would never have needed to be made. God apparently f*cked up the first time around.
It's unfortunate you tend to forget things easily. There is no trap for me, you are the thinker, right? My work is not hard at all. We are in the New Testament/Agreement, that is a FACT not a TRAP. Get used to it and walk in the times. You 'logically' told us that morality should evolve but it is a trap if something similar is in the Bible? See how you are deceiving yourself and playing double standards?
Heb 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Heb 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

See, you are late. You should read the Bible more, so you don't have to "reinvent the wheel" as it were.

Quoting the bible as evidence of truth is meaningless and holds no weight in discussions of this nature. I assumed you would know that. "God given common sense" is inaccurate. "Conscience", or the capacity for compassion and capability for developing a sense of right and wrong (the mental schemas I mentioned earlier), is written into our DNA as homo sapeins. We are herd animals - group functioning is vital to our survival, and so is adaptation to social environments. We NEED moral frameworks for a purpose. That purpose is so that we can live in harmony with our fellow humans and thrive - NOT so some bearded, tyrannical "creator" character in the sky can be pleased with us and not burn us for eternity.
Oh, so we should quote you instead, right? Why is it that the finest men and women, old and young, that you have ever met are readers of the Bible and most even ardent followers of the Bible? Commonsense is "inaccurate" in context simply because we do not all use it. i thought i mentioned that earlier. We all have muscles, commonsense and consciences but we develop them a different rates and paces, and we use them differently. We do have them nonetheless. So, even God is not hoping on your commonsense, the Word of God is surer. Your OPINIONS in the last three lines are noted, hopefully you'll wait to hear mine. cheesy cheesy

No, morality does not have to have a "zenith" for it to be worthwhile. That is a silly idea. Every progression towards more human peace is valuable. All of these simplistic, black and white goals for human conduct are set up by religion to create a problem and then sell you the "solution". There is NO reason humanity has to be PERFECT. We are entitled to our flaws just like every other living being on this planet. The goal is to work with and improve our flaws, and learn to live and interact in harmony as much as possible as our societies progress. Organized religion does nothing but distract from and hinder that goal.

And don't give me that pretentious crap. I was Christian for most of my life, and finally reading the bible as it is, without rose-colored lenses or deceptive pastors and their "interpretations", is what led to my atheism - as many atheists & agnostics can relate to. Perhaps you should try it.
Hehehehehe, you are saying that morality does not have to have a destination. Let's just keep going and flowing. No purpose, no goal, no vision, just lost at sea. Sorry, i've seen my own destination and you should respect it. Someone who has no moral destination should not be castigating and criticising those who have. This is the reasonable and logical thing to do. i thought you should know that as the thinker, not us the believer.
Did someone just mention progression towards more human peace? Now i know you are seeing things. You may make a good prophet in a white garment church, they see things too over there. How do you measure human peace? How do you ascertain that you have more human peace than they did say 500years ago? There is no reason for us to be perfect? But there is reason for us not to rape, kill and chop hands? Or is that perfection? Why do you have a problem with rape, murder and chopping hands when you see no reason for morality to have a standard or focus? there is no reason for us to be perfect, so why can't we be imperfect? Why is your blood pressure increasing over "perceived imperfections" in the Bible? Is the Bible entitled to its flaws? Are christians entitled to their flaws? Or do you just pull out that 'standard' from thin air to apply only to you, and at your whims and caprices?
i do not get/understand you said i should try in the last line. you were not a Christian by the way, i guess you were in the religion of christianity. A christian is one who FOLLOWS CHRIST, who has GIVEN his life to Christ and being born again. Were you?

What kind of a God convicts His children of their sins? Why then did He send Jesus? Why then did the Bible say "and if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

Why did the Bible say

2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation

Ola, get a bible. Try and study na...

Get this, Joseph Prince's point was that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sinners, and not Christians, this by no means mean the Holy Spirit doesn't counsel believers in right and wrong...i mean, that's one of His jobs...

But to come here and take it to another level by saying GOD (who gave His best for the world) is busy convicting Christians of their sin is 'spiritual felony'

From the article you quoted, it shows God ganging up with Jesus, convicting Christians, while the Holy Spirit is the witness.

Amazing!... And you call another a heretic. grin

Yes, because the bible promotes stonings and rape and hand-chopping. It is based on the viewpoints of men who lived 2,000 years ago and did not have the reasoning we have today. That is the point. If you want to argue that the bible is the ultimate moral code, you have to agree that rape, slavery and stoning is okay because the bible says it's okay. You won't though (unless you really are brainwashed), and that's because of your moral reasoning, derived NOT from the bible, but from life in a modern, non-barbaric society, and your own empathy (if you have any, which from some of your comments I'm not so sure).
No, the Bible does not promote stonings and rape and hand-chopping. i earlier questioned your ability to read, and i am tempted to question it again. Anyone who has read the Bible knows that there is an Old Testament/Agreement/Covenant, and that there is a New Testament/Agreement/Covenant. Either you were unable to read or the devil is messing with your tenses. Again, i read the Bible everyday. Most of the finest, nicest, loving most gentle and kind relatives you have, friends you know and colleagues you have met are readers of the Bible, many of them ardent and self confessed followers of the Bible. They are not inclined to stone or rape or chop hands. Evidently, the problem is with you and what you read, wake up to reality. My moral reason and that of many good people you have met is rooted and enshrined in the Bible, and in its precepts and commands of love, forgiveness, courteousness, honesty, righteousness, peace and contentment. If you require Bible verses, do not hesitate to ask for them. i know you will not require though, because you know already that i am saying the truth.

No matter how fickle it appears to you, all morals whether you like it or not originated from SOME FORM of human thinking (and so did the god(s) that allegedly determined the various moral codes present in the 4,000+ different religions that have existed). The morals in the bible came from human reasoning, communist morals came from human reasoning, and modern day democracy-based morals came from human reasoning. The changes made over the years are a result of society's development and progress, and evolving viewpoints as a result of that development and progress. Who knows if there is a "peak" of morality, and why does there need to be one? Why can't we just keep getting better and see where it leads us?
It is not about how it appears to me, it is a well known FACT that it is fickle.
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another
(BBE)Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles without the law have a natural desire to do the things in the law, they are a law to themselves;
Rom 2:15 Because the work of the law is seen in their hearts, their sense of right and wrong giving witness to it, while their minds are at one time judging them and at another giving them approval;

Evidently, you are not saying anything new or strange. We all have God given conscience and common sense. Although we don't all use them equally, just like our brains or muscles are not equally exerted. That is why for instance, we have national legislations and constitutions, so that there can be some form of standards, enforcement and inspection. What is commonsense and moral to you may not be to the next neighbour, creating chaos as we are not all 'evolved' to the same rate and level. Some people still find it moral to practice polygamy, homosexuality, child marriage etc. Some others have 'evolved', but the written laws and Constitution provide the standard and framework we can all live by. That is the same motive of the Bible. It doesn't negate the fact that we all have a God given system in us all.
So, you have no peak or zenith or destination of morality? That is a most confused state. In other words, you do not know where you are going, you're just going with the flow. Then you have no right to accuse others or dictate to others how they should be moral. Someone that does not know the road or the destination cannot be telling others that they are lost. This is common logic, i expect that you get it as you're the one doing the thinking while we do the believing.

If what you insist - that the bible is the ultimate moral code - then none of these changes would have had to have taken place. Everyone in the 21st century would be perfectly happy living by biblical law - where innocent women could be stoned to death for pre-marital sex or burned as witches and people could be kept as slaves. The only reason Christians no longer believe those things are okay or want to include them in their laws, is because of modern, moral reasoning. Not because of the bible. We as human beings actually came to condemn those things as a result of deviating from biblical standards. I don't see how this is hard to understand.
This is a repetition. Try and read the Bible or get a complete one to understand its contents, or employ help like us.

KING OR NO KING.

SO WHERE IN THAT PASSAGE DID IT SAY ONE SHOULDN'T DRINK?
IT IS NOT FOR KINGS, ARE YOU A KING?
NOW, DO YOU THINK THE BIBLE WILL TREAT SOMETHING THAT IT CONSIDERS SINFUL WITH SUCH A CASUAL REMARK, WITHOUT CALLING IT A SIN PLAINLY?
PLEASE HELP US BY NAMING A PARTICULAR SIN IN THE BIBLE, AND HOW THE BIBLE DESCRIBED IT AS A SIN.
IF YOU DO YOU'D REALIZE THAT WHEN IT COMES TO AN ISSUE AS SIN, THE BIBLE CATEGORICALLY CALLS IT A SIN.
NOT BY A MERE INSINUATION.
REMAIN BLESSED.
So you agree that kings should not drink?

Ariani:
The Israelites and the Egyptians had always been separate. they both knew they were of different nationalities. It was common knowledge for centuries, both physically and spiritually.

This is very ignorant of you. Perhaps you need to pick up your dictionary and look up the very meaning of nation.
Then you will realize that Ndiigbo share no nationhood with Yorubas and Hausa-fulani, infact, Israel is more related to Egypt than Ndiigbo to Yorubas.
It seems you have fever, you're imagining things.
