Image123: i am not a doctor.
Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) is a very infectious and deadly disease that affects human beings and some animals. The disease is caused by infection with Ebola virus, named after a river in the D.R. Congo. It makes those infected very sick. Up to 90% of patients infected with Ebola will die. There are currently no vaccines or definitive treatment. This disease has become a plague/epidemic ravaging West Africa at present. There is ongoing research and studies to get the cure and perhaps vaccine. i want/have to say that it is okay and in tandem with scriptures for everyone to heed to best practices on preventing further Ebola infection. Also, there is nothing wrong in taking medicine to cure or prevent Ebola and any other disease. There are modes of transportation as there are modes of healing. Approved drugs/medicine remain a valid mode of healing. As the world looks sort of helplessly at the raging plague, the aim of this thread is to remind everyone that there is hope, and help is on the way. For every believer, there is no need to panic. Stay strong, Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Wow, i heard that we won. Praise God. |

MarkMiwerds: It is not me who is hiding.
No, the rich young ruler would not have already tithed of all his possessions before he sold them. He would have tithed off of what the Law required... Agricultural products.
But regardless, once he sold all, he would have an increase of money he previously did not have. And did the Law say tithe was to be off of increase? Yes, it did. But the Law went further than just saying tithe of increase... it clarified that the increase it was referring in regards to the required tithe was to be agricultural.
Of course, the deceitful monetary tithe requirement teachers and their defenders refuse to accept the truth as it is given by the Word of God. You Mark are one bigoted ridiculous extremist. We've being through all these joke severally. Matthew 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Mark 10:22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. Luke 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. One doesn't compulsorily or automatically sell possessions at a gain, in fact that would border on miraculous favor. Again simple logic. If I possess 100barleys of crop, i tithe and have 90barleys left. If i sell my possession to come follow Jesus, that's all. The purpose of the tithe was already fulfilled. Stop this madness of crying more than the bereaved. |

We've been through this before, Image123. You cannot accept the written Word of God. It is foolishness to you because you have been conditioned to believe a lie.
Twist as you might, you cannot prove a monetary tithe given to Tabernacle, Temple or Church. Your goal post that the rich young ruler was to give all his sold possession to the poor. Now that one has being explained, you yet again hide under another shallow excuse. God does not reject or complain about our tithe, about time you started minding your business instead of this ridiculous concern about what others do with what is theirs. |

Somebody says "Letter Q is a alphabet". Another person says "Letter C is an alphabet". Yet another says "Letters A,B and C are alphabets". Who is wrong? Must somebody be wrong? Arguments ensue bordering on Q is not A alphabet, D,E, F, I are common alphabets and whatnots. And the contention is so much over nothing. Somebody says God is sovereign, the other says children of God should exercise faith. Which is not correct? Why then is there the long attempt to separate the two? One is not more right than the other, they are both truths that are in scriptures. What God aims for is fellowship and partnership, and the two (Sovereignty and Faith) have to come into play for that to happen. The extremities would not achieve anything but overbloated doctrines and valueless head knowledge without any spirit or power. Mar 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. Mar 5:8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. In Mark 5, therre is a beautiful chapter that shows all scenario. A possessed man was healed by God's sovereignty, at least from what is recorded. The man hardly was in any position of faith. Mar 5:18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Mar 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. Mar 5:20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. A new believer prayed to follow Jesus. Jesus did not answer that prayer, at least not immediately, as He had a bigger picture. Mar 5:22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, Mar 5:23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. Mar 5:24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. Somebody prayed for healing and it was granted but it wasn't instanteneous, though he even got something bigger, a resurrection. Mar 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. Mar 5:29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Mar 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? At the same time, someone else exercised faith for healing and got it instantaneously. Same God. There are many ways to get blessings and the earlier we realise that, the better. |

Joh 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; Joh 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
This page/thread was on frontpage some days ago(Oh, it's still there at the time of writing). i can only imagine what a casual, regular reader would go through and think on reading through, looking at the unnecessary fights and squabbles and name callings and much ados over nothing. The prayer and will of God through Jesus Christ is that, when the world sees christians, the world may believe that God sent Jesus. That is achievable through unity. Again, unity is not necessarily uniformity. The hand is very different from the stomach but they are of the same body possibly. We do not, and cannot all have the same level of understanding, perspective and interpretations(maybe when Jesus comes though). There is virtually and gainfully no need to fight and devour one another over pesky nothings. Yes, we may share our views and discuss, but this forcing down the throat, factioning and extremism kind of way, i don't really think that is what God would have us do. |

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The good news about Jesus Christ is that He is available for everyone. The POWER of God to salvation, to EVERYONE. Everyone, Jew and Greek, male and female, everyone. There are some news that is only good for a party, some other people would lose. But Jesus Christ is for everybody. His salvation is for both Jew and Greek, learned and unlearned. It is a GENERAL call, "Come unto Me, ALL that labour". God made salvation so accessible that everybody can access it. You don't have to be very intelligent or talented, you don't even have to be from a particular country or tribe, you don't have to be very rich or have connections. The good news, the power of God for salvation, to EVERY ONE. There is no excuse not to receive the good news. All you need to do is believe, every one can do that. |

We're not here for ophiology and other irrelevances being given prominence. i want to believe all parties here are professing christians and should so behave, regardless of whatever doctrine or teaching you're attempting to pass across. There's at least an expected level of decorum and piety in religion circles and this is one. Why so much disregard, abuse, insult, rancour, bigotry and disrespect on the section than some other sections. And it's painfully amongst professing Christians. Please again, decorum. |

Frankenstein: In summary, it's a business strategy focused on eliminating competition and maximizing profits. But this time, it favours the consumers. It doesn't favor the consumer in the long run, but breeds an unhealthy monopoly. It forces one to ask why it was sold for so much all this while when a convenient gain can still be made if a bag is sold 40% less. What happens to those who bought trailer loads wholesale just last week if prices can just be yoyoed at the whims of political solidarity? Do you understand that employees of both dangote and rivals would not get a pay raise and are at dangers of retrenchment and downsizing. And when next Dangote has a bad dream, he can tweak prices again citing whatever technical reasons. |

The baptism of the Holy Ghost, the empowerment from God. Empowerment to do His will, empowerment to fulfill His good pleasure. The beginning of the good news of Jesus. John the baptist came to tell us that the road was soon to be opened. Opened for all, opened for the thirsty. I WILL pour out my Spirit on ALL flesh . Never was there better news than the good news.
