logicboy: Wow...keep lying. Not surprisingly, you lack much comprehension power. Your mind has been blinded. |
Waoh, atheism is solution all our problems then, except that atheists usually commit suicide, are sinners like other sinners, also lose, fail, experience agonizing deaths, live in poverty, get sick, etc. Atheists and their evangelisms, my religion is better than yours show. |
Too many 'brilliant' and 'wise' people on nl. Them wise pass Daniel sef |
Yup, Yes, correct. |
@uti-mayor It's good to know though that it's not everything you do to your fellow man that you've done to God. Let's grow to rightly divide the Word of God. |
Fhemmmy: Is it about the day He died or what He did that matters? The thing tire me o, my brother. It's simple na, except for people who know book too much. That's the difference between simple arithmetics and further mathematics. Died on friday. Friday is 1ST DAY, Saturday is 2ND DAY, Sunday is 3RD DAY. Jesus rose on the third day. "And they shall kill him, and THE THIRD DAY he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry." (Matthew 17:23). |
My brother. It's a link to a thread on how to 'hyperlink'. Hyperlink is the name of what you're asking fros for. Just put www. i.e www with dot, in front of that link in your browser address bar and click Enter. Look for 'FL Gators's post, it explains it. Happy easter. |
Jesus Christ is the passover. It's like saying Jesus Christ has no meaning without Jesus Christ. @goshen. Try the link with a www nairaland.com/366019/how-hyperlink#msg5129841 |
The question of the OP has been answered by Joagbaje and AlenaJoy. Just wanted to add that christians should not be carried away by stories and visions. Only the Word of God is sure and very truth. Don't allow yourself to be swept by stories of newly delivered sinners and men/women/children that 'went to Heaven or hell'. Jesus Christ delivered so many people from demonic and occult powers. He also raised some people from the dead. We don't see disciples spreading and sharing books on Lazarus' 96hour experience and interviews with God and Satan. No apostle's found quoting the gospel of Legion on the dynamics of hell, and how he's 900 years old in the underworld and on haygrade 969 in devil's palace. Let's share the gospel truth. That's what has resurrection power to make people free. |
why i ask all this is that, i will find it difficult to give 10% all my salary, but can give 10% of my basic salary. One of my dear brothers on this forum will say "the heart of the matter is a matter of the heart." enough said. |
@OP Women more religious than men? Can you define that? Why then don't we have more female pastors than male? Well if you're on to numbers, maybe it's got to do with the natural way God made them. Women naturally drift into seeking for headship, direction. They want/have to be under somebody. And they sure get that in religious leaders. Men don't have such time and make up. |
thank you, my brother |
Gosh, i no get strength to argue tithe matter abeg. Just leave me and the OP |
cogbuagu: I got a job now but don't know how i will be paying my tithe.PLEASE, I DON'T NEED AN ARGUEMENT ON THIS. my response is to the OP. It's good that you want to tithe. But first of all, you should be saved. If you're saved, that's when you are truly qualified to give to God. Ofcourse, you should realise that your giving does not save you, and that you are not giving tithes to be saved. Once that's out of the way, it's good you proceed cheerfully to give all the tithe. Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. The bolded says "all the tithes". It indicates the possibility of not brining all. So give the tithe of the total. I think that would qualify as ALL THE TITHES. |
rman: But I noticed the sentiments in your post by claiming A BETTER COVERAGE BY MTN IN NIEGRIA IS UNFORTUNATE. HabaIt's rather unfortunate because that coverage is what's not keeping them on their toes, as it were. If the average man is in a place that has another network well established as MTN, He'd rather use and recharge this other network rather than MTN. The constant being that, nigeria is majorly populated by average and below average men. |
rman: First to get off the track is not really an advantage in a technology driven enviroment. Mind you, we all forget the fact that 11 years ago when MTN started, MTEL and ECONET took off almost at the same time and MTEL already has the infrastructure on groung. NITEL base stations and switches are in place before MTN came. How come NITEL and MTEL could not survive in a market that MTN is making a killing? How come a company that was built from scratch was able to dominate NITEL/MTEL that has infrastructure on ground to the extent that MTEL is completely out of the picture?NITEL/MTEL belong to the government, that's a significant recipe for failure. The point i'm making by saying MTN got here first is wrt their current competitors airtel, etisalat and glo. Many across nigeria already had mTN simcards before they ever heard those names. MTN has ,unfortunately i say, better network COVERAGE. What this means is that you'd think 4times before dropping your MTN sim because most of your contacts already know it, and call/text you on it. Another thing is that, if you'd travel across country, your MTN sim would most probably get network, a position you can't count on for other networks. Another is that MTN understands human psychology and would not relent in bombarding you with adverts that they are the best. What other network spends more money on facelift adverts than MTN? |
mazaje: It didn't happen, they are all dead, its a false promise. . .Keep praying, you will wait and pray and nothing will happen, the entire Jesus story is a fable just like the Mohammed story. . .Keep praying and waiting. . .Jesus said no one knows the hour and the day. . But he told his disciples he will come before they finish running round Israel. . .Okay then, like i said, go and pray if that bothers you. I'm not bothered, thank you. |
And seriously? NL is where you think your solution lies? Well, go seek some serious 'holiness preacher' to do it for you. You should also set yourself apart for a few days to really pray and read Bible till you scare the living daylights out of the devil. |
God bless you ea7 for re-bringing this up. Now, i know that there's nothing God cannot use to bless me. |
MTN's edge is that they were the first to get off the tracks. They've been around before the rest. And unfortunately, i should say they have better network COVERAGE than others. Nigeria is not only Lagos na. Simple Ogun state, trekKing distance from Lagos, other networks start fluctuating. Most of the other networks woo their customers with freebies, almost meaning that those customers cannot drop big money. MTN has customers who are ready to drop big money, not just recharge for mb. |
On the other hand, ithink it should be seriously downplayed. Christians are not of the world, and the issues that deal with Christ cannot and should not be treated exactly like worldly issues. What's intellectual property? It's the gospel for God's sake, not hollywood. What would Jesus do? We saw a man casting out devils in Your name? |
And they've finished running from city to city, from your perspective. At least, we can thank God that you read that Jesus said that no man knows the time. Keep wishing the Bible's wrong, i'm waiting for Jesus, go and pray if that bothers you. |
ea7: ooh ooh ooh ooh, can we get to the point where you type out the full psalm. What's the point of typing out the full psalm? Later, you'd ask for the full book. I highlighted points that show that Jesus was the expected Messiah. Atheists and fallacies, you need a certificate in those things man. |
@mazaje I repeat, this further supports my case,Well, it's a better thing to repeat than to repeat ignorant statements like "What has the verse you posted got anything to do with this topic? you are here quoting from a verse that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic." the verse you quoted goes like this from another version. . .Well then, your ignorance is by choice. One thing the passage proves is that there was NO SURETY that Jesus would return in the lifetime of His disciples, contrary to the phabuu you've been feeding us. CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH VERSION John 21:22 Jesus answered, "What is it to you, if I want him to live until I return? You must follow me." John 21:23 So the rumor spread among the other disciples that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say he would not die. He simply said, "What is it to you, if I want him to live until I return?" In your face again, Luke 21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. Luk 21:27 And THEN shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luk 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; Luk 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. Luk 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Luk 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. It is in the period, time, generation that these signs happen that Jesus would come. The events follow one another. The things\signs before and preceeding the second coming of Christ are yet to happen. Nobody knows when these things would happen, but when the begin, be sure that Jesus is 'near the corner' i.e His second coming BTW, not the rapture. Do you even have the capacity for this? smh. The generation that experiences the signs would not pass away until Jesus comes. And like i told you earlier, EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM, including you mazaje, and your high priest friend. The bible is very clear, Jesus told many people to expect him during their life time. How that's clearer to you than the disciples, the apostles, and christians beat my imagination. Take orrection, and beat it. |
The last statement was not needed, dont you know some atheists were once christians? Not many. It's very hard to be a true christian, with a personal experience of God and then become an atheist. maybe an agnostic, a God-hater. So, the statement holds deep. A forty year gap actually means something when you claim to be writing history. And, how old was John when he penned this? This is lazy. So it's either the Bible is right when it seems to suit you(seeming to support that Jesus would not come), or the Bible is adulterated when it doesn't suit you (seeming to support that Jesus is coming soon). Thumbs up to your atheistic sloth. Muslims can interprete their books like you are doing but people like you will always shoot them down. This passage is meaningless,Yeah right, it's meaningless, since it's written in a language you don't understand. BTW, i don't have the time for shooting down anybody. christian tradition says the disciples were murdered (Though if they existed and had your attitude and buzugees, it would be shocking if they weren't) i.e , they didn't live very long. In this light the passage means that Jesus can preserve john till he comes (in that time period).Try harder. The passage is clear enough.Bible in Basic English Joh 21:22 Jesus said to him, If it is my desire for him to be here till I come back, what is that to you? come yourself after me. Joh 21:23 So this saying went about among the brothers that this disciple would not undergo death: Jesus, however, did not say that he would not undergo death, but, If it is my desire for him to be here till I come back, what is that to you? BTW have you ever read those messianic "prophecies" objectively? You would find out why Jews don't beleive in JesusTell me more, PLEASE. Psa 22:1 My God, my God, why are you turned away from me? why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my crying? Psa 22:8 He put his faith in the Lord; let the Lord be his saviour now: let the Lord be his saviour, because he had delight in him. Psa 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. Psa 22:18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. Go and read your Bible more, you'd know why Jews don't believe in Jesus. |
As we draw closer to the remembrance/celebration of Christ's crucifixion, death and resurrection, may i remind you that He died for everybody. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man Jesus Christ did not come to die for Himself. he didn't die for one generation, or for one nation. He died for the whole world. Just as Adam sinned and once you're born of Adam, you become a sinner automatically by inheritance. The same way as Jesus died for us all, you become righteous and your sins paid for the moment you're born of God i.e born again. It's necessary for you to be born to be a sinner, and it's also necessary for you to be born again/born of God for you to be righteous. Jesus Christ came to take our place in judgement. He came to be judged/punished spirit, soul and body, so that we'll not be judged/punished again by God. It was expedient that He should possess spirit, soul and body because man possesses spirit, soul and body. God is a Spirit, the angels are ministering spirits. Animals do not possess spirit i.e the life that God breathed on Adam. Jesus Christ came in the flesh as the seed of David and suffered judgement in His body. We're told that His visage was so marred beyond recognition. As many were astonished at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men (Isaiah 52v14). He was beaten to pulp, for me and for you. he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.(Isaiah 53). They beat Him so much that if you saw Him, you might spit, They hid their faces from Him. Even with these, He was still nailed. The hands must be nailed, for they love to sin. The mouth must suffer, for it loves to sin. The feet must be pierced, for they love to sin. The brow must be crowned with a thorny crown, for it too loves to sin. All that the human body needed to suffer was executed upon His body. Thus He suffered physically even to death. He knew no peace, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. |
@OP What would Jesus do? Give to your brother the things that are your brother's, and give to God the things that are God's. |
The 'extra' is the development i talked about. You don't need to be flying at will, controlling objects and people, and claivoyance |
You've already been given all that you need, be content to develop them. All these 'extracurricular powers' can land you outside your Eden. |
@mazaje You do err out of true ignorance. How can one ask what John 21 has to do with what we're discussing? We are talking about Christ's return. It's real pity if satan blinds you to something so obvious. Here it is again. "Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. 23.Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? " (John 21:21-23). This is clearly talking about Jesus coming again, i wonder why atheists are usually assertive on issues they know next to nothing of. |
I don't want the Bible to be true. It's true whether i want it or no. You're simply misunderstanding Jesus, the Saviour of sinners. None of the disciples affirmed that Jesus would come in their lifetime. On the contrary, it appeared that they felt Jesus would come back after they were dead. "Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? " (John 21:23). And i said there are christians currently persecuted in Israel, i didn't say there are jewish christians running all over israel. Stop putting sly words in my mouth. |
@mazaje i'm not spinning it, simply explaining it. It's up to you to show me/us that it is wrong. You've read Revelation, you've read Peter? They corroborate what i'm saying. You're only being narrow-minded because you want the Bible to be wrong. And yes, there are christians currently persecuted in Israel, and they'd not complete a run round until Jesus comes. Maybe you think israel is the size of your village or something. I hope emofine would not scream in horror when she sees what we've done to the thread BTW. |
