logicboy: I clearly meant God's thinking as exposed in the bible.

Also, anybody, be it god or man that tells me not to question his actions is a psychopath.
And i've clearly made a distinction between God and your robber friend.
i do not recall discussing anything about God not allowing you to question His actions? Hate Him or love Him, God is not a man, and we're all stuck with Him. A wise man would make the best of what's on ground, repent.
"Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;" (2 Thessalonians 1:6).

logicboy: Wow, you dont sound confident? Did I just give your argument a knockout blow?

There is no difference between God's thinking and the robber- the creation of planets is irrelevant.
You're the one doing the thinking here, not a robber or God. Or God has shown you His thoughts?
ithinknot.
i simply compared your creation to that of something that has no will of its own. The planets do not make decisions, they just fulfill their purpose. You are created with ability to make decisions, don't blame God and keep saying "God made me an atheist, what can i do?".

logicboy: Destiny? Was did our forefathers do to deserve slavery from Europeans and Arabs? Were they destined to be slaves?

Please, explain or give your thoughts about this picture and freewill;
No, they were not. It was the decision of some people. You're yet to sleep because you've decided not to, it's not your destiny either. On your birthday photo, you should note that according to God, He owns us. Unlike your robber friend. He's created the planets and the trees for a reason, they don't have free will, they simply obey and fulfill their purpose/destiny. But He made man in His image, with a purpose and with a will to fulfill or not. The choice is yours, be fulfilled or be unfulfilled.

logicboy: You dont judge me but you agree that I will burn in hell for eternity if I choose to remain an atheist.

God, why have thou forsaken me? Thou maketh me an atheist and now punisheth me for my disbelief? grin grin grin grin grin
You forgot to add that He also gave you a will with which you can change your destiny. Your decisions affect your destiny.

wesley80: So you think every smoker and drinker is going to hell and Christians working in such companies are also sinners? What Pastor Chris has said can only be called heresy by the naive as his point is pretty clear to the open minded. Like Apostle Paul said " all things are lawful unto me but I'll not be brought under the control of anything". Ponder on that.
How about someone coming to murder you, despoil your whole clan and plunder your goods screaming ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL UNTO ME?

logicboy: What? So, you will blast your son with passages about hell from the bible if he told you he is gonna be an atheist?
You're not my son, you're currently a son of the devil.
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;" (Romans 1:18).

Goshen360: @ Image123,

Nooooo. That is too judgemental and condemnation. You don't do that to people, seriously. What if he repents tomorrow? What are you gonna say. I don't agree with your above statement pls.
If he repents, good for him. Praise God. If he doesn't repent, he's going to perish. Hell is every sinner's destiny. I'm not and i do not wish to condemn him, i'm reading him Bible passages for his devotion before he sleeps, i'm serious.

logicboy: You and I know that you dont love me. If you really love me as a fellow human being, you would not believe 100% that I will burn in hell for not accepting your religion.

Na lie?
i love you enough to tell you the truth. You're on your way to hell, and except you repent you will perish.
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36). Your best place is hell as a sinner, fulfill your destiny my beloved.

mkmyers45: How then should they read it? What of genesis 6 and 7 were every animal on all the whole continents were stuffed into an ark the size of a football field?
Oh, if sinners read other scriptures literally, then they should read genesis 3 literally, not just to suit their proclivities.
Not every animal on the whole earth was put in Noah's ark, maybe you got that from an article, read your Bible and pray everyday.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Punishment Justified? by Image123(m): 9:26pm On Apr 15, 2012
mkmyers45: he didnt choose a wife but he had a woman forced on him. So the translation shouldnt be taken seriously? So what would eating the tree of life have meant?
"So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found." (Genesis 2:20).
"Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman', for she was taken out of man"." (Genesis 2:22-23).
The above scripture contradicts what you've said, and i didn't say that you shouldn't take the translation seriously but taken in context. Taking of the tree of life would not be disobedience, that should be plain to see. The tree of life is reliance/trust in God. The tree of knowledge of good and evil is independence.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Punishment Justified? by Image123(m): 9:16pm On Apr 15, 2012
Ehinafe: Image123, I wonder when you started reading the Word of God literarily. You should ask the Holy Spirit to give you revelation of the truth in His Word. This is the only way the mystery in the word of God can be unlock in your heart. All Scriptures is inspired and God is not mocked.
Some part of scripture are literal, like Jesus died on the cross, that's literal. Solomon was a wise King, that's literal. Adam and Eve ate of a tree they were commanded not to eat of, that's literal. Some parts are symbolic, like most of Revelations. Some parts even though literal, have many life applications. The Spirit of God is given us to understand the Word of God, grow in the knowledge of God, and receive life from God's Word. He's not given to twist the Word.

And vague allusions to the Bible "mentioning" a concept which you then cannot back up is an insult to reader's sensibilities
Bros mi, i want to believe you're not remotely or directly referring to me in whatever shape or form? Many of the issues raised have been handled and knowing kunle, he'll just waste my time. The sin at Eden had nothing to do with s.ex. This keeps repeating itself without getting corrected. i wonder why sinners don't usually read the genesis 3 literally but read other scriptures literally to mock. Hypocrites.

Callotti: What is stopping you?
Getting personal already?
Typical Christian. When you get short of what to say or write, you become insultive.
Perhaps, it is YOUR frustration getting the better of you.
I ask again. . . IS YOUR GOD A SADISTIC GOD?
You're not staying on point. It's not my fault that you're so frustrated with the Bible. Your frustration is evident in your vomit on issues we weren't even discussing. If you want to learn or discuss, do it in an orderly manner, simple.Insultive is an understatement of what you do. I guess you're a typical christian or the rules don't apply to you?

So your God plays favorites btw his concubines' children huh?
He played Jacob against Esau.
Joseph against Benjamin and the rat pack.
Israel against Judah.
Cain against Abel.
Adam against Jesus.
David against Absalom.

What else is is new?
Only a Sadist would operate like that.
Dividing his children for his sick entertainment and pleasure.
THE ONLY TRUE LEGACY OF CHRISTIANITY.

Everyone and everything is to blame but himself. . .THE OMNIPOTENT ONE! cheesy
PSYCHO GOD!!!!
Tufiakwa!!!
Is this a discussion or an outpour of your frustrations? Instead of jumping all over the place, why don't you have a clear head and let's talk, point to point, line by line, one after the other.

mkmyers45: 22And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever. what does this place mean? Its simply showing that before the man didnt knw good and evil before he ate.
'good and evil' is not implied in the general sense of not knowing what to do. Before Adam ate of the tree, he was in the image of God. The finest and most brilliant of all creation. He was not living like a zombie not knowing the difference between sand and food. He had capacity to name all animals, He could obviously differentiate and distinguish. There was a search made for a wife. If he had no knowledge in the sense you speak of, he could not choose a wife. He had some sense to successfully manage an Eden, something a thousand phds would struggle to do in our days, even with a lot of money at their disposal. What is meant in the verse you quoted is a principle. He was now to live unfortunately under a continual principle of good and evil, instead of life as God planned. It's actually a statement made in pity when you(with the help of scholars) study the original rendering. It has been rendered/translated more like an irony/sarcasm. That's what the devil promised/deceived, you'll be like God.

Callotti: But God knew Adam was gonna be a failure right?
He still created him weak.
Even Jesus Christ was weak.
What a Sadistical God! lol!!!
Adam was not created weak, neither was he created a failure. He was created to rule the world and have dominion. Jesus Christ was tempted and He overcame. Adam was tempted, he did not overcome, he could have if he wanted to. It was his choice.

mkmyers45: is it justified to punish someone who dosent know good from evil? How did he know he had to admit?
The Bible does not say that He didn't know good from evil. What it says that He was not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. There was a tree of life in that garden that He didn't eat from. But we definitely can't say that He didn't have life in the sense we know it.
Christianity Etc › Re: HERMAPHRODITES: The Creator's Imperfection??? by Image123(m): 11:28am On Apr 15, 2012
Callotti: Once again, thanks for admitting YOUR GOD can be likened to a drunk pilot who lost control of a plane.
We will not let y'awl crash-land. . .trust me. ')
When you can produce a GOD that has full control of his or her blueprint. . . let us know.
Right now. . .the 'renegade' plan looks more appealing.
Thank you. . .and good luck! kiss
Waoh, you're doing fine already, quite close. Actually, Adam your(and our) forefather is the 'drunk pilot'. God gave him and his descendants earth and its blueprint/title deed. But he let the devil play a smart one on him. The plane is sure in crash land mode and is going to crash land. The good news is that Jesus came to save all that believe/trust in Him, from crash landing with plane EARTH.

ea7: from what exactly, afterwards christians still sin and the hell that is a danger was made by jesus himself. ur bull makes no sense.http://titen-sxull.hubpages.com/hub/Yahweh-is-Evil
Christ came to give us power, to save us from sin. Nonetheless we still have the will to choose from day to day, who to obey and serve. It's like a potential that lies in every believer. There's that potential/possibility of being holy. Unfortunately, many do not fulfill it and they have their reward.
Hell was made for the devil and his angels, but any human who chooses not to follow God will join the devil there. You're either with God or without. Without God is hell.

logicboy: It's unfortunate that you have to refer to millions of people's God as schizophrenic before you can pass your 'point'

Really? Compared to you saying that billions of people will burn in hell for not believing your religion?

Face the fact, your God is schizophrenic;

-No incest but Abraham married his half sister
-Thou shalt not kill but stone homosexuals and fornicators to death
-Thou shalt not kill but orders isrealites to annihilate cities of unbelievers
-All men are equal but Jews are my chosen people
