I've been to three different churches in the period of three months. One is an RCCG church, and the other two are non-Nigerian churches.

All the preachers used Ipads "instead" of the "book", and it wasn't distracting, neither was it ridiculous.

. . . from stones to scrolls to papers to electronics.

Like 2buff said, welcome to the 22nd century.

This must be what oyinbo people call BLATANT LIE. Except i'm misunderstanding you here. Many ke? Many preachers coming to the podium, and they'll say "today's text is taken from abc", and he'll bring out his phone and start to read. That sounds unserious and ridiculous.

2buff: And who told you that you must access all versions of the bible just because they are on your phone?
So if you visit another church within the same day that frequently uses a different version nko? cheesy
Like I said, it's okay. Stop trying to logically defend your stance on it, as you will not be successful with it.

Just summarize it as you don't feel comfortable with technology because you haven't been exposed as much to it. This is fine.
Not everyone knows how to use a computer in this day and age still. It doesn't make them horrible people.

However, if these same people start attacking people who CAN use computers just because they are ignorant, who are the disturbers here? huh
Talking confidently like you know me does not make you know me at all. The line of argument about 6versions was that one person needed to be flipping from version to version during a message. The Word of God is not studied that way, at least not during a message/sermon. And not every one hops from church to church like you. If that's your purpose for using phone bibles, no need to force it down our throats.
Ok. I’m no expert on the Bible even though I’m an avid reader and that’s why I ask many questions even though I may be wrong in some of my assertions.

However what I do know according to the Bible is that it was Lucifer who wanted to be like God not “they” other angels who supported Lucifer in his rebellion. “They” supporting Lucifer is what I was more curious about. Why would they dare God in such a way? Were they not content already? Why would they need to support Lucifer if heaven was already sufficient? . . .maybe Lucifer seduced them with offers. . .maybe some wanted a promotion in their ranks. . .maybe some were loyal to Lucifer. . .which either way I look at it . . .it strikes me as rather inconsistent for some entities in a perfect realm to have such intentions, to have a mind of rebellion highlights perhaps heaven or at least the former heaven was not perfect. There was an actual battle in heaven. How can such a perfect atmosphere breed rebellion?
They were deceived to thinking they'd fare better outside God's purpose for them. They were deceived not dissatisfied. Devil wasn't dissatisfied with Heaven, he was dissatisfied with God. His punishment was to be denied Heaven, and he fights tooth and nail today, to make sure man doesn't 'make' Heaven.

You are not righteous, it is obvious your topic is meant to mock God.

@2buff
You make me laugh. i'm not against having bibles on phone and co. i said you DO NOT need six versions of the Bible in church. It's a distraction on its own. All you need in church is the version frequently used and the Holy Spirit. It's not having many versions that gives you life and understanding of God's Word. i understand and employ the advantages of many versions BTW, don't be too sure of yourself.

He's fairly popular. He's being known with controversial healing powers for long before the prediction spree era. 70percent don't need to hear about T.B Joshua. 70percent need to hear the gospel,

You don't need six versions of the Bible in church. That in itself is a distraction. Little wonder many get so little from the Word. It's not by power nor by might. All you need is the Spirit of God, and the version frequently used in your church.

Canisma: Does he not do other things than making predictions?

I tell you brother, out of about eight hours of healing, preaching and deliverance service in his church, T.B Joshua only takes out just 5 minutes to give his prophecies about the world. After that, he continues with the service and he never repeats it again that same day.
So dont see it as if he just comes to church and then starts predicting. No please.
If you doubt him, just take some time and watch Emmanuel t.v on sundays. Im not asking you to believe him. No you dont have to. Just observe him for yourself. Not to depend on hear-says. After watching him, your criticism of him would be more cohesive and logical cos it would be based on what you ve seen.
Ciao
That's about all that we ever hear about him. The world needs to hear the gospel, not predictions and controversies. I'll do as you've requested one of these days ihope.

They wanted to be like God, to be worshipped. It's not a disenchantment with God, they wanted to be Him. That you offend in school doesn't mean you're tired of your school.
Well how great could God and “his” heavenly habitat be if a third of the angels in the original cast sided with Lucifer in his heavenly coup against this awesome entity and attractive abode? Why risk such luxury if everything was perfect before?

They must have been disillusioned before teaming up with Lucifer.
God 'threw' them out of Heaven. They did not fall because of a dissatisfaction of Heaven.

Reptyle: Makes me wonder what you would do if an usher walked up to you in church and asked you to put away your device during sermon. Would you create a scene? Slap the usher? Walk out of service perhaps? You too funny jare!!! grin grin grin

My own is that if the church you attend does not accept it, respect constituted authority like you most likely do in your place of work, or move to the church were they accept technology.
It's that simple. People'd do all sort of stuff for money. Get real dirty and messy, wear a tie and tuck in for hours unending, close very late, resume very early, obey traffic, police, vio, abase themselves at airports and embassies. But simple instruction na wahala for church. If your Bible study teacher says don't use a phone in my class, then don't.

No man can come to God except through Jesus Christ.
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6).
You MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS, no shortcut.

i've not said that it's wrong to read Bible from phone. What i'm saying is that people should learn to use their discretion and be considerate of others. Many posts here smack of selfishness. There's more to life than i'm right or you're wrong. If it's the pastor, that's another case as He is the leader, the members follow. Another thing you should all note is that you gain more when you study print than on phone and co. So stop cheating yourself and feeling cool about it.
Just as an aside opinion, There's something sanctified and dignified about a print Bible or scroll if you please. It's an HOLY Bible, not your phone Bible.

baryore: Do u have to mention Bishop Oyedepo? Did OP say anything about him? Why can't you just answer a question based on what was asked? Try not to talk negatively about anointed men of God even if you don't like them because it will have a disastrous effect on you. Pls take this advice and do not reply foolishly.
i did not talk negatively about Oyedepo. Your post is a disaster BTW. You need urgent prayers. Learn to mind your business instead of coming to fight where there's peace.
