The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Thursday said it has so far recovered over N60 billion from erring banks as excessive charges imposed on customers.
The bank also said it has equally returned same amount to the affected customers.

This is just as the Apex Bank has announced that it had commenced the processes for creation of 10 million jobs in the next five years through investment support in agriculture, using 10 commodity models.

Speaking during a two-day customers sensitisation forum in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the CBN Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Isaac Okoroafor said the recovery of the excess bank charges was made possible through the bank’s Consumer Protection Department.

According to him, the amount was recovered following complaints by 13,000 customers over excess and illegal charges on their accounts by banks.

Okoroafor, who also disclosed that the erring banks were meted with various penalties by the CBN, stated that the Apex Bank was determined to ensure that no bank customer was cheated with excessive charges from their banks.

He added that the CBN adopted intermediation strategy to monitor the banks and ensure they did not misuse customers deposits.

Technically, the man decides the sex of the baby... not the woman. You can only contribute an X since you are XX and the man's sperm contributed either an X or a Y - thus deciding the sex.

It is very sad that at this age of civilization people are still this backward mentally. So because of a particular gender they turned themselves into a baby factory producing above what their income can carry comfortably. It is a shame that the woman is still yelding to take more risk of child bearing in this country with her life. My wife has never bordered to know baby gender during scan because our sole interest is a heathy child. It is obvious both of them haven't seen many praying to just have one child, half or even mischarge to give them hope. You quickly believed what she said at bolded and concluded thus. Now to the reality, how many African women being the breadwinner of the family easily maintain calm? Even most men who have full housewife sometimes unconsciously complain of their wife of not keeping the house tidy enough as that is their only job. Secondly, I am yet to see a nagging woman acknowledging that act. Let's assume none of the mentioned is obtainable here. Do you know how it feels for a man to remain idle & watch his rule shifted to his wife all because of joblessness?! He could have just leave home to job hunt or just a way of appearing to be hustling instead of just seating at home without the sign of making effort. Tell the man to always come home early or not to even leave home when he got no job hunting. And see the same woman come here with a different title: how to make an unsupportive man become more financially responsible or at least make efforts.

Why won't he after indirectly supporting & encouraging a bad system you go to church to pray for a better Nigeria, forgetting that someone is directly showing you: electricity, good road, hospital, school, security even allowances for the unemployed as cars. There are several businessmen & even artists who have similar cars but no one will question them because it is their legitimate hustle, they have product & services they sell to make their money. But what has your man got outside been a senator?! Notice that he didn't address the source of income rather the choice of what he likes which is less important. Initially the problem of Nigeria were solely the politicians who stole the future of the citizens but now the major issue is now the citizens whose basic amenities are stolen supporting them because they have sentiment for PDP or APC, same religion or ethnic, etc. And at the end it is the politicians and their immediate family that enjoy alone.

Personally, i find it dufficult to openly ask for replacement of Service chiefs or commanders so as not to give terroists the impression that they are winning or worst still that they can influence decisions in the country. However, at this point that is just the only option we have. These group of Service chiefs can no longer do their job. There is too much lethargy everywhere. We need new blood. New ideas and newer way of defeating the humongous security cahllenges we currently have in this nation.

People are dying. Change the Serviec chiefs. Change your strategy. Politics be damned!!!

Whether or not the service chiefs are changed it won't make any difference as long as it is politics based insurgence.
