The point of this post I think is to avoid assumptive competition. Not to encourage anyone to be a Keke driver or what not.

One thing to note is that the payment, keeping or not keeping of the change was an esteem tussle between the two. Very common in Nigeria. They were not giving as an act of charity, but to show the next person they are doing better. Which is the same reason many want to get rich in Nigeria anyways. No other tangible reason.

Gratitude is bae.

Romance / Re: How Do I Control My Girlfriend Sharp Mouth by imustsaymymindo: 5:31pm On Jun 02, 2022
She would hurt and disrespect you with words ultimately. It doesn't have to be abusive. Saying things you shouldn't say could ruin relationships, cause conflitcs and ruin peace. And it is not every time you would be in the right mental state to handle things well.

Does she know the depth of how this makes you feel? Have you communicated about it? Does she see it as a problem that she is willing to control? Has she wept about it?

A cause for this could be ADHD disorder. Have you done a background check? Is she impulsive not just with words but even actions too? Does it seem like she doesn't listen to you? Do one or all of her parents do the same? Her Parents may have tolerated it as at least one of them may have had the same trait and couldn't reprimand so it won't be the case of pot calling kettle black.

However, I know it's hard to admit that your girlfriend has a problem. As I am sure it is the same sharp mouth that got you in love that you now hate or want to change for the good only. Maybe her being assertive, attention-needy, attention-giving, chatty, spontaneous, and impulsive which are common traits among such people drew you closer to her.

Well, why do you have a girlfriend? Don't just say it is because you love her. Be exact. Is it Companionship? Sex? Loneliness? Growth catalyst? Financial benefit? Whatever it is...do an opportunity cost compared to the flaws. If you think accepting the flaw is too much price to pay, get an alternative to the reason first. Maybe, for instance, if it is sex, abstain or masturbate. Then do your opportunity cost again. If the flaw is still too much to cope with after that, please leave her. She would get someone more suited for her. And you would get someone more suited for you.

Not until I started seeing other people's comments.

Thank you to everyone who made out time to respond. The good, the bad, the insults... I am grateful.

We have decided to go for therapy. My husband is very sorry. Right now, he is researching good therapists we can contact to help. He wants us to work on the issue together.

I started this thread earlier today because I was feeling lost. We had the issue three days back and it's been bothering me even though he apologized immediately. Like I said, I have never discussed my marriage with anyone. This is the first time in 14 years but opening up here has really helped. It is good to hear different views. I thank all of you. All your comments (even the insults) have been helpful. Thank you all for giving me counsel.

It's so hard to be honest without it coming across as bodyshaming.
I'm repulsed by the size of this girl's boobs and it's a pity she has a chest full of ratchedness.

I'm not surprised with Dorathy's antics in the reunion show because they are all the same, I mean these women.
The only thing they love to open asides a man's wallet is their filthy legs.
A few weeks in the house and they're acting like the men they met in the house are the only men they've encountered all their slutty lives.

God knows if I was a housemate, I'd fvck all of them including anyone's mom who comes to me to take pictures.
But God should not allow us meet women who will be shameless enough to tell the world that we broke Churchill's record of 30seconds.

It seems a trend that the housemates get less inhibited and more debauched with every passing season.
I can't wait to see how scumful the ladies of the new season will be.

Lol. @Seun, we need a favorite icon on nairaland. This is just too epic.

whatever happened 2015 has since passed and he was not the determining factor for Buhari winning the election then. He is a good man with good intentions, let's not pretend like someone else is going to become president without becoming a politician. We will still elect a politician at the end of the day. The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know and he is no devil. He has a track record of doing the best to hold the government accountable. I'll take him anyday and anytime over anybody.

If it was Banky W who came out, I'm sure he won't be embarrased in that manner despite being a politician. It's just the mob mentality derived from Burna's cowardly defense against him. Both the politicians, celeb and other "powerful" people have their own selfish reasons towards this protest. So, what's the buzz on Sowore? Didn't some other politicians join the protest claiming they were even harassed by SARS?

not really.

Remember women don't approach like how men approach.

Men physically approach. But a woman approaches by MAKING HERSELF AVAILABLE. Be it walking slowly for the guy to catch up. Or moving away from her friends to give the guy his chance. Or asking for help. That's how Women approach. Also called the Green Lights.
. As a guy you watch out for those. Once given make the move. Then give your number. Then she must initiate the communications by phone etc. But in every step at this stage the lady must lead.

I'm going now. Talk to you later on

Well said.

To hell with all wack commetcial artists out thr.

Commercial prowress is key to artistry. If the music isn't commercial, it is of little value. The artiste could as well be rapping/singing for him/herself. The ability to blend with trends and the market but not loosing your touch or your essence is very key.

Abegi. Late dagrin was shit e no fot even fit follow m.i flow for rap. Who dey play da grin that time.when na american music dey top charts.

Well, I think it's the metrics you are using to judge Dagrin that is making you not see his legendary.

I presume you are judging him based on his simple, easy to understand lyrics and minimal punchlines.

I believe Grin could match many rappers flow at that time. Even better. The likes of Gino, Catair, Modo, OD, Ikechukwu, Naeto C, Dark Poet, Terry tha rapman, Sauce Kid, Ferocious and other rappers then had similar flows. Only M.I. and Da Grin really brought about the commercial rap flow. They both had good albums. No bad track. I mean you could listen to Grin and M.I songs and you would know this is music. You can't say it's the beat or chorus or any particular element making their song sweet because they made music. Every element blended. And the songs had messages.

Dagrin is the best storyteller and commercial rapper ever in Naija to me . It's hard to blend those 2 aspects in music. Trust me. And beyond that, Dagrin propelled the streetz.

You want to know a legend? Listen to an artiste 10 year old song and see how the message is still relevant till today. Thank God, Ghetto dreams, gboro, his verse on champion and many others attest to this.

There is a 2pac song to any situation you are facing currently and in 20 years time.
There is a Lucky Dube song to any situation you are facing currently and in 20 years time.

That's how you know legends.

If Grin had lived a year or 2 older, there would have been a Dagrin song to any situation you are facing currently and in 20 years time.

Grin died at 25. 2pac 25. Biggie died 2 months before his 25th birthday.

If you are a rapper and you are 25, please be careful lol.

Grin was a legend.

Music, art etc. that lasts for a long time are inspired from true life experiences. Because trends die, genre dies(rap is as dead as grin), style dies but what lives on is humanity and that message of humanity can only be passed by your innermost feelings and experiences.

Grin spoke from the soul. This is how to be a legend. In all you do, do from the soul.

Crime / Re: Ikorodu Cult Group Kills A Rival Cult Member (Disturbing Video) by imustsaymymindo: 2:21am On May 27, 2020
I’m hurt.

It’s easy to say you don’t have pity for this young man that was killed. But let me try and buy some remorse from you.
The truth is, you only have a slim chance not to join these cultists if they really want you.

Even when they don’t oppress you physically, I can assure you that when a group of people with a common goal constantly devise means to get you, you would probably not escape. Consistency is the key to success. They can set you up or lure you with your little faults or even passion. Trust me, it could be your love for food, games, parties, women, drugs, reading at night, politics, public speaking etc. It could even be while trying to run from oppression from lecturers or even another cult group, you’ll get to meet a Sheep in the Wolf’s clothing.

For many: when you are in, you are in. And loads of this set are the poor. There are many reasons why this statement is true for many. Culturally as a people, we are not the type to fight for justice, fight for our right or even speak out. Is it even worth it? When the Police, Politicians etc. that are meant to create, enforce laws are the key sponsors. To worsen the case, the male psychology forces you to keep shut and don’t appear as weak which would even be boosted in the initiation ceremony.

This guy in this video, I’m sure he hustled for years before he got admission to that University. Would he have the guts to give up his education and start all over because of oppression? Would the poor Parents think that this is a good idea and finance him? How about if you were set up by your own family? Maybe you have a blood brother in the cult. Where do you want to run to?

For some, they might be lucky to get out. Of course, mostly the rich. Because it’s only the rich that can fight for justice even with non-contemporary means. Maybe calling Army men for the oppressors. It is the rich that would get in, kill all they want, rape all they want and escape abroad when shit hits the fan. It’s only the rich that can give up his education and start over elsewhere. Admission is never a problem.

Anyways, it’s still a matter of choice. My advice to every young man out there is to always keep a low profile and if for some reason you get entangled, be ready to give it all up. It could be your education you might give up for a while. You could even have to give up a family member. You could even have to give up your location and leave your comfort zone. You may have to give up your passion. You might look like a coward but nothing is worth your life.

Cultism in Nigeria is deep-rooted and complex. You really can’t beat them. But don’t join them either.
