Ok. So I have to comment afterall. I will share ideas that I have tried and they worked for me.

1. Printing Business: You made mention of not wanting anything to affect your G.P truth is that there are few businesses out there that won't do that but still you can handle it. And unless you want to remain in the cycle of hand to mouth, you really have to stress yourself. So printing business. I ran printing and photocopying for only 1 semester that was because I left campus after that session. There will always be people who want to print or photocopy. Tell your class rep, friends etc. and you'll be working all day. My starting capital was #9,000. I bought a desk jet series and I laboured the machine. I got back my capital in two weeks. I usually worked till about 2am and woke up at 5am. I stopped attending fellowships, was late for classes because I needed to deliver. etc.
But then I didn't know the secrets behind refilling I bought three new cartridges afterwards each costing #3,000. I got a hang of it and the final cartridge I had was destroyed when my room mate refilled it wrongly. In general, I made profits. With time you could employ others.
And about G.P my G.p was way better than the year I was idle and always in the room. Because I had a sense of responsibility.

2. Graphic design: I learnt graphic design before I got into school. Cut and join, nothing special. But I have gotten several jobs and still getting some with the little knowledge. I am not the best, but I can produce simple yet compelling designs. Trying to learn something new doesn't always hurt.

3.Sewing/ makeup: You are an art student so styling and fashion shouldn't be your problem. Ok this info is particularly useful for 200level students. Freshers need to get a foothold. If you start early, you'll figure out that before you graduate you are the bomb.
For makeup, a lot of my colleagues started while in school.
Truth is the University is the largest market there is. Students are gullible (you can cajole a student who doesn't have a car or gen to buy fuel). And if you start early, you know your way around before you graduate.

These three I have tried. There are several others but I am going to stop here. I hope this helps.

Mostly because the trousers are too long and they don't want it to sweep the ground. I do it a few times if it is raining and the ground is wet.
It is uncommon to find this attitude amongst men of high moral standards abi how many times you don see person wear suit come hold crotch.
Another reason is it gives "boys" (mind you not men) this bad guy feeling. That's why it is common for taut and street urchins to hold their crotch. I did it when I was in secondary school.

I just wrote this article for my blog and I felt I should share, hope you guys enjoy it.

We wish all our esteemed readers Merry Christmas. We are still writing because you guys kept reading.
While thinking last night on what articles should be on the site today, the subject of Christmas and growing up crossed my mind. This article is obviously a random one and I will be writing as events cross my mind.

Christmas as a growing child; it was fun, fun, and fun. As a growing child, I lived in a compound (what is called a public yard in Nigeria), just like most Nigerian kids.
A yard comprises of several houses within a fenced or unfenced wall, usually owned by the same person. In our own case, it was fenced and we had five to six other families living in the same compound.
My parents weren't wealthy and that made Christmas even more of an exciting period.

Before I continue, let me deviate to rich kids. From are far, we watched rich kids from afar. They had toys and games (Sega, PlayStation 1 and 2). They obviously go shopping and they entertain visitor. Etc.

As an average kid growing up Christmas started with the cool harmattan breeze and dry lips. I believed and still believe that injuries sustained during this period hardly heal. Hence, I had to be very careful when I play. After blowing of harmattan breeze comes vacation of schools and then anticipation for the D-day.
In anticipation I waited for Christmas rice, Christmas chicken, and above all, Christmas cloth.

Every parent knew that without the Christmas cloth there was no Christmas for your child and some had to borrow money to provide. God bless our parents.

The eve of Christmas was troublesome. I rolled from one edge of my small form to another. I dreamt about Christmas and most often I wake up several times in the night. "Kukuruku" the cork crowed; yes it is Christmas day and I was out to show them what I had.
Rice had three options; white, fried, or jollof
Chicken had two options; ordinary or fried.

The joy that follows plucking the feathers of the chicken if mum both a live one was immeasurable. Yes we've been eating rice but Christmas rice is special. As growing boys, we watched mum do all the cooking.

"Food don don, oya make una come chop", mum calls. We eat, and it is off we go, I and my friends.
Christmas as a child meant going house to house and expecting money. We preferred money to your food.
What else went with Christmas? Eh-mm, knock-outs (bangers) were also the order of the day. I wasn't really into that as dad will beat the living day-light out of you if you are caught.

As I write this article, some kids came knocking. Sometimes I wish I didn't grow up. To every Nigerian kid out there and to my readers, Merry Christmas and a happy new year in advance.

What I am asking is what is the short service program like? Do I get to leave after 6months or 9months? Can I live my normal life after that period or I'll be under the navy? Can I pursue a career with my university degree? Police harassment for road done too much oh.

Anyways, here is my question I am already in my fourth year studying mech engr. What do you think is the best path I can pursue either as a navy or army personnel. Ok. So here's my humble opinion to having more sales or boasting your business.
Sewing as much as other spheres of investment have working principles. And to a large extent, they are pretty much the same.
From the few years I spent doing business, I am still in business though, these are the tips I have been able to gather. And just so you believe I understand what you mean, my mum has been making dress for over 12years and she's still making them.
So over to the tips;
1. Talk: what do I mean by talk? How often do you tell people about what you do? Going for an event and admiring what some one puts on. See it as a medium to start a conversation and tell the person about what you do. I will give a very clear example. In my 300level, I started printing business in school, not because I didn't have enough(from my parents I mean) but because I wanted to have more than enough. Believe me I talked about what I did to virtually all the key people. From my class rep to room mates and all that. And while I was at it I got a lot of jobs.
Talking could be in form of oral conversation or as simple as a complimentary card(what matters is the impression it creates)

2. Evolve: Depending on how long you've been in the business, you are bound to have an influx of customers with time, no matter where you are hidden. I have had people call my mum on several occasions to make cloths. On such occasions, these people are busy and can't come over. Mum buys the material, sends the style, and sews. So being hidden is not an option.
If you've been sewing for a long time and your customer base is not increasing, there are two possibilities: 1. The people you have are not impressed, so they leave. In this case you have to talk to new people 2. The public haven't seen anything spectacular in your cloths so they don't ask questions about who make it.
The fashion world is constantly evolving and you should with it.
Finally on evolving, if you've moved to a new place, make it known to your customers that they can call and you can meet them up outside your home(assuming they have distance challenge).

And on a final note, wear what you sew. Be creative, make people jealous by what you put on. Be it to church, mosque, work out. Believe me people will rush you.

I hope this helps, I streamlined my advice to fashion.

My humble advice. Whether you get an adsense account today, you won't be able to manage it. Are you blogging for the money or you have a passion for what you do?
I know it can be very frustrating seeing things not go as planned. Bro even if you get an acct, wud you hire people to start clicking your ads? Do not forget, you can get banned for that.
My advice. Work hard, think smart, try to stay relevant. Adsense is not everything.
