And hey, placing cyprus hill and coldplay? Thats quite insulting. Damn it coldplay is today's mozart! They even refused to use their song for a coke ad saying mozart couldnt have done dat.
Music/Radio / Re: Coldplay Is The Best Band Ever! by initiator(m): 11:19pm On Jun 12, 2007
I heard coldplay's Timberland's favorite sound. They also collaborated with Jay Z. Though i've not heard the joint, i heard jay z say in an interview that you get a feel when close to chris martin that he takes his craft seriously. Kanye west is also working on something with coldplay. Brandy used clocks' soundtrack for one of her tracks.

As much as hip hop is embracing this band, i kinda like their sound unadultrated.

Whats your fav song of theirs in each album? For me its: trouble in parachute, amsterdan in rush of blood to the head, and talk in x&y.
Music/Radio / Coldplay Is The Best Band Ever! by initiator(m): 6:00pm On Jun 12, 2007
What would the world be without Coldplay?
Since The Beatles, Rolling Stones and U2, i dont see any band that has held its own like coldplay. All their albums and tracks are right on spot. to me, they're the rock version of mozart! from Parachut to Rush of Blood to the Head to x & y, this group have the most refreshing taste in modern rock. Cant imagine them rocking lagoit'll be wickiiid.

I just love them and could live on some of their lyrics.

Whew! What was all that for? So after posting that epistle should we then agree that the nig. rigging was justified.

If this country would go anywhere from dump we gotto tell our leaders the cold truth: stop taking us for a ride. We keep getting worse @ the act of electoral fraud: 99 was bad, 2003 was terrible, 2007 was 'did u see that'? And to justify this perfidy one bozo posts some epistle about the isolated case in the US' competitive democracy that saw the dems win congress majority under a rep president.
Politics / Re: Abuja: The Scottish View. by initiator(m): 3:19pm On Jun 11, 2007
@ denex what in the world d'u mean by only ghana wld come to the games? Common wealth game gets all english-speaking countries xcept the US mandatorily to one country. Canada hosted the games once and hey mexico was close by! Australia hosted and they're surrounded by non-english nations.

Naija has qualms and yes shanties but if u wait for the removal of shanties b4 u host an event, una go chop una bia bia. Games like these can challenge a country's internal policies. Like china, countries r threatening 2 boycot her 2008 olympics if she does'nt change her policy in sudan.
Politics / Re: Abuja: The Scottish View. by initiator(m): 1:16pm On Jun 11, 2007
Nigerians have a terrible self-esteem problem. We dont expect anything from ourselves.
Those badmouthing nig. should know that games like these help boost the economy and improve infrastructure. Games are not hosted by perfect countries. S/A isn't even ready 4 the world cup but FIFA and the world's encouraging them. Here we cant even tell from a terribly warped article. Any fool can write rubbish about any country even US or UK. In naija its becoming fashionable to hate ur country in a very masochist way.
Culture / Re: Nigerians & Foreign Accents by initiator(m): 9:01pm On Jun 09, 2007
How about italians who stick to their accent? The reason naija dey fake be say we neva hammer our local dialect well well wey e go hard to form even if you try hard.
Politics / Re: Efcc Not To Investigate Ehindero's Corruption Allegation by initiator(m): 7:32pm On Jun 09, 2007
Can anything good come out of Nazareth? This time it's a resounding NO. Ehindero with the police is the same story as bola ige and Funsho Williams.

Politics / Re: Life Outside Presidency: Obasanjo Stranded In Traffic Jam by initiator(m): 10:23pm On Jun 08, 2007
I hope every moment of his post-presidency would remind him of all the things he failed to do.
That marriage part is part of his clownish aspects.
Politics / Re: From Number Three To What? by initiator(m): 5:08pm On Jun 08, 2007
@ MILITIA yes we are'nt comparing tribes as you said but you cant talk about igbo unity without situating it within the larger Nigerian contex.
Politics / Re: From Number Three To What? by initiator(m): 4:04pm On Jun 08, 2007
Sorry to say but @ militia this is another rubbish talk. Has there been unity in oyo state? Has there been unity in ekiti state? Has there been unity in plateu state? Even if igbos presented one candidate in the last election she'd not've emerged president. The emergence of presidents in nigeria takes more than ethnic concensus and y'all know that. To alledge igbos are the primary cause of their lot is to wish away the ethnic complexities of the nation. Nigeria's not controlled by ethnic groups. She is controlled by individualls.
Politics / Re: From Number Three To What? by initiator(m): 3:38pm On Jun 08, 2007
What is this reckless talk about igbos having to be united for the presidency? Which tribe in Nigeria has presented one candidate? Yorubas had falae, bola ige and obasanjo in 1999. In 2007 hausas had Buhari, bafarawa, and atiku. The same person above insinuating igbos are clannish is the same person saying igbos should present one candidate. I hate participating in tribal debates here on nairaland but i must state that never in the country's history has a tribe presented one candidate. It's unintelligent to do so.

@ denex the american economy wasn't doing badly before 9/11. Please cross check your facts. We all trust the US to be in posession of nuclear facility than russia and why are they worried over the US' plan to shield itself from nuclear attack?
@ afam iraq has come out of bush's mistake but dealing with it takes more than bush bashing or a pull out. Holding up rogue states such as N. Korea & Iran as heroes is morally pointless.
I think fearing a missile attack now is pretty alarmist.

Politics / Re: Hillary Rodham Clinton Is American Next President by initiator(m): 3:06pm On Jun 06, 2007
@ mamajama its sure edward wont win but he made a point in differentiation which's very important considering hilary's charm. Obama shouldve followed queue. @ topic remember that at the last general elections 34% of americans said they're conservative. These were the numbers karl rove used to deliver bush's landslide. If hilary and the dems. Keep playing the liberal jelly they may just loose out! All the reps. yesterday didnt support gay military issues. The rep candidates did a good job by criticising bush without being soft on terrorists.
Politics / Re: Hillary Rodham Clinton Is American Next President by initiator(m): 9:42pm On Jun 05, 2007
Obama has made an impressive run for the presidency but he did not do too well at the last debate to differentiate himself against clinton. Edward did a good job in seperating his policy from hilary who wisely assumed the unifier of the democracy. I still dont think hilary will do too well at the general elections as americans know that the only way to deal with bushies mistake is not to pull out. A republican moderate would be on spot. Also i dont like her support for abortion and gay marriage. This would go against the powerful right-winged evangelicals.

Just check out this picture of the opposition leader in Zimbabwe. Imagine Obasanjo sending police men to beat up Buhari like this.
