Hmmm, "real weekend" entertainment? huh
CelebritiesRe: Barbee= Half Nigerian Half Jamaican Reggae Singer by InkedNerd(f): 8:01am On Oct 16, 2010
Ewwww gross. I've seen her in person. Her performance is ummmmm tongue. The chick looks like plastic in person tongue. Omg, the picture of her in the pink boots is at the Brooklyn Promenade. I love hangin' out there--its near one of my favorite restaurants Chipotle [on Court Street]!!! grin. Woop woop.

MzDarkSkin:
Girl is bad. Keep hating!!!! She's beautiful with an hour glass figure. If she was full Nigerian she'd get better love from you females probably why she is more accepting of her mother's Jamo side.  angry (I SO mentioned that to piss ppl off lol but it's true).
She's more accepting of her Jamaican side because she grew up in Caribbean neighborhood, keep in mind, she's from Brooklyn and majority of the African community is in the Bronx. The Caribbean community is very big over here so it makes sense that she would lean more towards them rather than the Nigerian community. Besides, where else could she dress like that and be embraced the most? I grew up in a Caribbean and Hispanic neighborhood so I'm very familiar with both cultures. Anyway, a lot of people I know think she's fake. I remember one day when I was coming home from school and I saw a poster for one of her wor wor performances and my friends and I nearly died laughing because the poster had some MAJOR photoshop work done to it. It was obvious that whoever worked on the poster was very heavy handed with the healing and patch tools on photoshop. Hmmm, I wonder why she calls herself Barbee. She's a little too big to look like a Barbie undecided.

@Inked_Nerd leave the lace front wigs grin grin. I first noticed peeps wearing them about 2 years, I just wondered, what's with the strange hairline, I thought they all looked like that embarassed embarassed embarassed. I must admit I've now seen some really great ones but, they CAN cause so much harm to your hairline.

I love the Full buzz but it can make your head look big and make your forehead more obvious.

I've seen quite a few young girls with thick hair, just banded back, that looks really cool, and of cause they are really into the shaved sides, but must have permed hair on the top.

So from what you've said it looks like it's the same for blacks from wherever. smiley smiley
Lmao, the hairline are too funny. It cracks me up. I did the whole head band thing before I snipped off some of my hair for the summer. This year, I'm gonna experiment with a lot of different natural styles.

@Inked_Nerd I've put Brazilian hair on a friend's hair before,  I refused to use the glue shocked shocked shocked.
How do you get it out without damaging your own hair.

@Inked_Nerd what are the current hair trends?

I thought we were ALL going back to a more natural look or even heading towards a full on bush.
Well, around where I live a LOT of the girls are all weaved and permed. Some of the girls that go to my school are gettin' into the natural hair scene. This year, it seems like a lot of them are willing to chop it all off or shave some of it off or wear their hair in an afro. But some of them just seem like their trying to go natural because they think its chic tongue. That's not my reason though. Been rockin' natural hair for a while now. With all honesty I don't know how people remove it [lace fronts/glued on hair]  from their hair without damaging their own hair. I one saw a woman on tv remove her lace front wig and the woman was in serious pain cry. I'm so happy I don't go through any of that grin

HealthRe: Why Bleach? by InkedNerd(f): 3:24am On Oct 16, 2010
A lot of people are ignorantly slathering those nonsense things on their body. I don't agree with skin bleaching BUT if that's what an individual wants to do then so be it. Its just a matter of doing it in a safe manner. If people would just go to a dermatologist and consult a professional then they'd know that there are SAFE and PROFESSIONAL ways to "bleach" and/or "lighten" their skin if that's what they want to do. People don't seems to realize the dangers of those HORRID bleaching products. Those things are FULL of mercury, steroids or other harmful skin bleaching substances. Don't allow yourselves to be fooled by a lot of theses companies. Even companies like Dove which pride themselves on being accepting of people of all forms since they've launched their whole "The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty" in 2004 have alternative motives. Their parent company, Unilever is tied to producing add that actually contradict their Dove campaigns >>> http://aseachange.com/blog-illusionists/2008/10/an-egregious-example-of-corporate-hypocrisy-doves-real-beauty-campaignuponco/ . Another company that has jumped onto the skin lightening band wagon is Vaseline which is also under the Unilever corporation. In 2010, the company launched a Facebook skin lightening application which enabled users to lighten their skin tones. This application was all part of a marketing campaign to sell products foe their new mens line >>> http://thesocietypages.org/socimages/2010/07/23/multinational-corporations-and-the-cultivation-of-colorism/. Honestly, I was in no way shocked by any of it.

Sweetie, leave him be. You seem like a wonderful girl and if he can't appreciate you then forget him. Look at how your wrecking your brain over a man mistreated you. Your here going crazy mean while the guy is enjoying his life and not paying you any mind. Move on. If he truly loved you, he wouldn't have treated you in this manner. Always remember you are worth so much more and if he can't see it the its his loss not yours.

Nope, it was understandable. You gave yourself some space from her which is a good thing. Other guys might have gotten upset about the whole thing and instead you kept your cool. When you see her just be honest about how you felt about the situation and your feelings towards her. Good luck wink

RomanceRe: If Your Girl/wife Say I Had An Abortion: by InkedNerd(f): 3:39am On Oct 15, 2010
rokiatu:
legally speaking,  girl can have an abortion without the consent of the  dad in any state in any civilzed country. However I think its better
for both parties make the decision cuz a woman doesn't just get pregnant on her own.
The reason why in some countries a woman can do it without the consent/knowledge of the family or the individual who got her pregnant is because its the woman who's the one that's pregnant and it's her body, not the man's body so as long as that baby is within her body, any decisions she makes is solely up to her. But I understand where you coming from when you say that the decision should be made by both parties. But you also need to keep in mind, there are some men out there that tell women that they've gotten pregnant not to get an abortion for the sole purpose of exercising control/power over a woman's body.
