aryzgreat: who understands haus here? wot does dat hausa word mean?

gbollykore: i live in the USA with my 3 kids, ages 7 , 5 and 2 ,they have never been to Nigeria, they understand everything in yoruba, the older two also speak yoruba, but when they get to school or go outside they speak with perfect American accent. And you find kids that have never been outside Nigeria who can not speak their native language.

i think its share inferiority complex that makes us embrace western culture over us, in the USA you see African americans wanting to do anything to identify with the African culture, some of them actually pay to learn our languages yet , we want to speak like them

it puts me off when i watch TV in Nigeria and most presenters are trying to talk with british/ American accent, please let us embrace our beautiful culture, even americans envy us, when we invite them to Nigerian parties they are amazed with the richness of our culture

Pdizzle: Although im a catholic, i read a lot of prostestant devotionals since we all serve the same God. On reading my open heavens this morning, i saw pastor Adeboye taking a jab at the catholics concerning the way they confess their sins to priests, saying penance does not grant you forgiveness.
We got discussing about it and we made reference to bible passages such as john 20:22-23 and james 5:14-16. Pls what are your opinions on these.

Well speaking from facts and what I was told when I was a catholic, whta I noticed firstly about Catholics (even when we r all christains n no offends) is that they r always quick to defend themselves, without actually thinking it through) u have the bible yet u refuse to open ur eyes n see for your selves.back then when I was a catholic I was told, we confess our sins to the priest and he in turn, prays to God on our behalf.what ever happened to the passage of the bible that says,I am the way, the truth and the light, no one comes to the father accept through me.besides after confession, u will b told by the priest to say (it depends on ur sins though) 10 hail marys, 5 our father n 3 glory be to the father, prayer.bck then I rember in my hrt am lk, is that all, hummm.well bt thank God for the bible o.I read passages my self before I was convicted to leave.may God give u d eyes of understanding.I rest my case

Women in the UK and U.S are selling their bre@st milk online, despite serious concerns that it could be harmful for babies. Mothers can donate and receive breast milk for free via milk banks. These centres store bre@st milk for babies whose mothers can't bre@stfeed. However, they give priority to babies who are sick.

Mothers are using community forums, including Facebook, to make some quick cash out of their extra milk.

Buying bre@st milk is tempting to new parents struggling to express their own, as it provides babies with better protection against illnesses and allergies compared to formula. The banks collect expressed milk from pre-screened mothers who have a plentiful supply and a baby under six-months old. It is then pasteurised before it is offered to nearby hospitals.

But today doctors in Germany warned new parents against privately obtaining their baby's food through social networks such as Facebook.

The Professional Association of Pediatricians said that although bre@st is generally the best option for newborns, mothers unable to bre@stfeed should not turn to the internet.
