Akhenaten, Fine. I didn't see you say I was formenting trouble, cos, I'm not. And never have. I have no intention of ever creating problems between fellow Africans. That picture is Adekunle. I have seen the original in glossy black and white. Don't you want to be accurate? Anyway, I'm done. Do whatever you want. |
Akhenaten, I didn't see anywhere where you called me a "tribalist." Did you? You just lost credibility with me because I told you that picture is not what you say it is. Can't you look it? The whole thing just makes me distrust you. I'm not mad, really. I don't get your whole deal with all those horrible pictures, and if one is wrong, that calls into question your whole agenda. P.S. I think you're confusing me with someone else. I have never made what can be considered tribalist or anti-Igbo or whatever posts. |
Akhenaten, You've got a lot of nerve picking on AlhjHarem when you yourself have ulterior motives for creating that thread - very nefarious motives indeed. I told you, several hours ago, that the picture you posted on page 2, at 7:33:24pm labeled "Biafran Soldier" is none other than Brigadier Benjamin Adekunle. Yet you did nothing and offered no explanation. I'm guessing you lifted the image from the book Adekunle's son edited "The Biafra War Letters." https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=582396.msg7496525#msg7496525
I hate to post in your inflaming propaganda thread. I think you're just trying to make trouble. And I've never contributed to any anti-Igbo rhetoric, so don't even go there. I am responding because I am very concerned about the authenticity of the picture in the above-referenced post. I can't repost it for some resson. Are you very sure that picture is of a Biafran soldier?
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=582396.msg7496704#msg7496704
Yes, it is a picture of a Nigerian soldier! Not just any soldier! It is a picture of the Black Scorpion himself, Benjamin Adekunle. From where did you lift that image? Who the hell are you, man? You can't tell Adekunle apart from a Biafran soldier?!
|

I'm not married, yet. My opinion is that the mother should go first, then the wife when they can afford it. Salaam. |
I'm not offended. I get him. Sometimes. But am not gonna stop harassing him whenever I feel like it. He did it to me. Unprovoked. Numerous times, I might add! And I took it in stride. So, he better grow thicker skin. |
jason123:Stranger has attacked me enough. I'm just having fun. hehehehe. |
fstranger1: Katsumoto:New thread to continue discussion of Yoruba Origins Fstranger, (PhD, Mensa): Harigato! Harigato! Katsumoto: Ka'ale o! Se dada le'wa? FStranger: What! You speak Yoruba! I'll be a monkey's uncle! How? When? What? But your name is Katsumoto! I am totally gobsmacked! Come see wonder oooo! |

Anybody home? Politics section is imploding. Images of burning bodies. Pornography. All manner of lunacy. What a Sunday on Nairaland. |
I just told you I can't repost it! It is the one titled "Biafran Soldier" with a time-stamp of 7:33:24 pm. |

alj harem1:All right. I know you didn't mean it. I edited my post to remove it. |
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/09/live-blog-latest-developments-on-arizona-shooting/?hp Roxanna Green, the mother of the nine-year-old girl who was killed in the Arizona shootings, said she was called by a friend to say that she should get to the hospital quickly on Saturday. "We just all rushed over there," Ms. Green said on Fox News (see video below). "They told us the bad news, that she had a bullet hole through the chest. They tried to save her but she just couldn't make it. I saw her right after that. I spent a lot of time with her and said goodbye to her." |
FBI Director Mueller is doing his shtick now. So the dead are: 1) The federal judge, John Roll, the Chief Judge of US District Court in Arizona; 2) The 9-yr-old, Christina Taylor Green; 3) The Congresswoman's aide, 30-yr old Mr. Gabriel Zimmerman; Who are other 3? edited: Jan 10: 4) 76-yr old Dorothy Morris, lifelong republican who attended event with her husband who was also shot; 5) 76-yr old Dorwan Stoddard who attended event with his wife who was wounded; 6) 79-yr old widowed great-grandmother, Phyllis Schneck. |
alj harem1:Stop that. You're Igbo, remember. |
How did the Tapa end up in Lagos from all the way Kwara/Niger State? I'm just curious. Anyway, I have no beef with them. . . Shango's mom was Tapa
Yeah. I believe Sikiru Ayinde Barrister's mom was also Tapa. |
Hrm, I thought Tapa was Nupe? Or does Tapa refer to another group in this context. . . ?
Yes. They're called Tapa in Lagos. Some families have been there for a long time. Also, a lot of intermarriage between Tapa and ara Eko. |

alj harem1:Sounds like you lived a long time in Lagos. So, you must have met lots of Ibos who were born and raised there, speaking Yoruba and mingling well with Lagosians. I'm not going to pretend there weren't hostility from some, but there were many Ibos who blended well. I can see someone with an Igbo last name, maybe born of a Yoruba mother with long history in Lagos, becoming governor in 10-20 years from now. It won't be easy, but it can be done. It is probably more likely to have a Lagosian born of Tapa (long-term Lagosian) parents get in there first though. |
Pres_Elect, Do you hold the other side responsible for her death then? What if the boy was just a nutjob? Sorry, I can't abide the dregs at Fox News. What are they saying? That Giffords is a blue-dog democrat? From what I also read, she did drastically change her liberal-moderate stance on some issues to get re-elected. And she wasn't above sacrificing Speaker Pelosi in the process. I've been a huge fan of Nancy Pelosi for ever and a day, so maybe I'm biased. What's the latest on her condition? Why in the world did that judge make a detour to the event? He'd be alive now. So many questions! Sorry for everyone. P.S. There is no amount of criticism that can be thrown at that hideous Glen Becks that will get my sympathy though. The man is an utter disgrace. |
Very nice. I'd love to be there in person. A festival I can enjoy almost as much as the Eyo Festival. As someone said, there aren't a lot Hausa or Fulas on NL. I don't blame them one bit. |
fstranger1:Where'd you go to school? Anyway, I think they were just trying to beat the devil out of you. Didn't work, apparently. ![]() |
pocketndry:Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be alarmist. I was only talking about myself. It doesn't affect everyone the same. I just can't have MSG at all anymore. There were other health issues to consider. Some people just have to be really careful with MSG. |
That wasn't a criticism directed at you. No worries, Here are some readers comments from a reputable newspaper. Just goes to show you, during time of crises, no society is immune from overreaction. In a way, we have all been shot in the head. This country is dying. We either change this country for the better of all people, or we will have civil war very soon. Whenever something like this happens, I become concerned about the future of the United States. Are these kinds of of violence isolated incidents perpetuated by some crazy individual? Or are they symptoms of the end of democratic institutions? Why is there such an alarm of this sort of incident happening in this country? It's mourning in America. http://community.nytimes.com/comments/thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/08/live-blog-representative-giffords-shot/?sort=oldest |
I agree we should all get along Lelouchan. We are African people with a common history of being expoited by outsiders. alj harem1:Hahahaha What happened to Chyzzy? |
Teacher, do I have to read all that? I mean, will it be on the exam? Please make una make am open book O. |
Keith Olberman (MSNBC) can be such a blowhard, I swear. |
Press conference cont. A bullet in the brain involves very delicate surgery. Former U.S. Surgeon General serving as Giffords family spokesman doesn't appear too optimistic about prognosis . . . critical condition. News analyst summarizing: They think shooter may have had help . . .person of interest. |
Press conference going on: "5 killed on the scene. . . 1 died at the hospital." Personally, I'm glad that racist publicity seeking Arizano Sheriff (of Maricopa County) Arpaio is no where to be seen. I hate that guy!!! He loves the camera so frigging much. The sheriff giving the press conference is Sheriff Dupnik of Pima County, Arizona. |
tpia1:Wetin Nlers dey do? Make I come see, right. ![]() edited to add: Oh, I think I see what you were talking about. Eeeewwww. And I used to think Politics section is where all the fighting is! |
