ZUBY77: Two days in Amsterdam and I was done. I already booked ICE (Inter City Express) train ticket from Amsterdam to Berlin Germany. Back in the hotel, I kept myself busy with a bottle of original Jack Daniel's. I have missed the stuff a lot, not that I don't see them in Nigeria but I am afraid to drink or eat some stuff back home. Our people are usually more interested in making profits rather than importing original things.
At about 10 am, I checked out of the hotel, trecked to the Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena Train Station and boarded my train to Berlin. It was going to be a long ride, so booked first Klass earlier.
Sitting near the window, I observed the entire landscape along the way. Summer was just starting, the grass and trees were too beautiful.
It didn't take much time to cross to Germany since Holland is a small Country. From the border, the Deutschland became familiar. The memories started coming back. Germany was the first country I lived in Europe. As we got to Oberhausen Train Station, I recalled that it was the first City I lived for a week when I nearly arrived in Germany. It was there that my Globalruns Journey started.
I arrived Berlin around 4 pm and headed straight to IBIS HOTEL in Ku'dam area near the Berlin Zoo Garden. I booked an apartment in Neukoln area back from Nigeria but since I arrived a day earlier, I had to get a hotel room for a night. I chose to go to Berlin because that was the city I lived in and operated from back in 2004/5. Berlin was where I had many friends, it was very easy to chose Berlin. Berlin is the capital of Germany too.
After I settled down, I made few calls and an hour later, few people were already waiting for me in the hotel reception. It was time to go look around town.
To understand things better, you may wish to start reading my book here. https://www.nairaland.com/1333913/there-back-time-nairaland-best Berlin central station 🔥 |

datola: It's not really how much Naira exchanges for Dollar that matters. What's important is everybody getting it at the same rate.
Strong Naira is not desirable for an economy that does not export much things.
Most ignorant Nigerians want to consume only imported goods and yet want strong Naira. Ko le work! I don't think everyone can seamlessly get it at the same rate from a bank, except it is sufficient, but the black market will always be available at a higher rate |

Procashtips: And you do not know this?
You see Africans. I accept your point that there are good African countries(Egypt, Kenya e.t.c), but I am referring to Nigeria in this case, where 247 electricity is still a luxury, and some other low quality problems that you wouldn't face in Europe |

Procashtips: You have not traveled or haven't been observing things
How can you claim almost everybody is comfortable in Europe? Ever heard of Portugal? Northern part of Cyprus? And a host of other countries?
There are at least more than 15 countries some African countries are better than in Europe, do not let the media deceive you.
You need to read deeper if you cant travel to understand that a veil is being used to cover the reality everywhere. Okay, no need to prolong the talk. I live in Europe by the way 😁 |

Procashtips: Everybody must be very rich or at least comfortable in Europe then. Not rich, but almost everybody here is comfortable - well designed good roads, efficient and cheap transport system, shelter and food for homeless people, unemployment benefits, parks and sports training facilities in close proximity to residential area and so on. |

headboyprince: you want to compare Europe where everything works to a useless country like Nigeria. you're so stuppid... dont know where that audacity to always compare nigeria whenever this useless APC implements a useless policiy with europe came from, like the difference between Nigeria and Europe is like from the ground to the sky... Dont even go there... don't mind him, the European society that was built to satisfy every social class |

Electorate: You are already used to suffering na, so defend Tinubu while you continue suffering. would you have said this if it wasn't your candidate in power? nonesense. The elites/political class don't even suffer with Nigerians, I don't know why Nigerians don't like to hold their leaders accountable, he/she is their to serve the people |

Psady: Any policy meant for the good of the masses is a welcome idea, if we like let's keep suffering ourselves by inflating the prices of goods and commodities for our selfish interest. This new government is here to work, before a new elected official will implement a policy on assumption of office,it's crystal clear he has a clear study of the good impacts on the nation.lets not be confused by these naysayers, they will keep painting it so bad to undermean this new government but we know their plan, their wailing has only been geared up . President Tinubu is here to serve us all,and we will see the good results in no later . I'm curious, how is this meant for the good of the masses? Nigerians don't have constant electricity, many are underpaid at work so how will a policy like this favour people? |

I was thinking i could get an accomodation for the two of us within Eur 600.
