mekaboy: but buhari bent the law, when asked customs not to search suitcases thag allegedly contain foriegn currency. But he but fela in prison for his hard earned money.
Emeka, if the fear of stealing public funds that Buhari was trying to instill in Nigeria had been sustained, Abia state won't be the dirty, disorganized, smelly Jungle it is today.
CHM11: "I heard of the 1983 coup planning, told my GOC General Buhari who detained me for two weeks in Lagos. Instead of a pat on the back, I received a stab. How then do you expect me to report this one? This trial marks the eclipse of my brilliant and unblemised career of 19 years. I fought in the civil war with the ability it pleased God to give me. It is unfortunate that I'm being convicted for something which I have had to stop on two occasions. This is not self adulation but a sincere summary of the qualities inherent in me. It is an irony of fate that the president of the tribunal who in 1964 felt that I was good enough to take training in the UK is now saddled with the duty of showing me the exit from the force and the world"

It is called "Life". That was the Nigerian Army at the time. If positions were reversed he'd have done the same.
Besides, this was done during IBB's regime. OP is a dunce.
Nogen: Hope they got Kerry an interpreter because he won't understand a word that comes out of his mouth. As a Nigerian, I'm still struggling to understand the meaning of kworupsion. Searched all my dictionaries and encyclopedias in futility.
And you think I understand Goodluck Jonathan when he speaks?
Kenai: I found this picture from a 1985 newspaper cover story talking about Buhari's regime and his eventual defeat at the hands of Babangida. Please read. It's quite an interesting piece. Very revealing, too.
ketekete: Members of TAN rally in support of Nigeria’s president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the 20th of January 2015. The event was covered by afrobizgermany. Video and Photos after the cut..
“The President is taking Nigerians in Diaspora especially those in Germany very serious. He sent his greetings, and he wants to let you know that your voice have been counted that is why he has appointed some of the Diasporans into his previous cabinet and which he is still going to do again. The Chairman has said it all I don’t need to repeat that we have new universities in Nigeria today, the Niger bridge is coming (that’s a change), the road between Lagos and Benin is now realized (that’s changed)… With President Goodluck Jonathan, I can only say that more good things will come. So on behalf of Mr. President, I say that you for your supports.” – Hon. Kenneth Gbandi
glory2glory: GEJ/ PDP, very desperate right now with the reality on ground. I won't be surprised if they are behind the disappearance of GMB's certificate from the army. Have you wondered why the military will have record of his result and not have the copy of the certificate. How did they get his result? By word of mouth? They propably didn't think that results can always be generated by the examining body once the name, exam number and date are known. Come to think of it, GMB remembered his exam number of over 50years ago. So much for a man who they claimed can not remember his phone number.
If you think for one second that Buhari doesn't have his certificate in his possession then you don't understand politics. He's making PDP look really foolish by letting the issue drag on and bit by bit he's letting the public see the desperate, idealess, criminal brotherhood its members really are. They can't even see that they're buying him the best publicity for free through their idiocy of focusing on laughable, mundane, and irrelevant issues. PDP is desperate, they know Nigerians can see through their charade and they want to keep power at all cost.
The only thing to "Think about" is the fact that even with their so called "Youth" the former heads of Govt all messed Nigeria up. Age and experience matters.
halimaabi: Buhari disregards our educational system any student that votes for him need to be checked if he can lie under oath about his certificate then this man is heartless and clueless i conclude that buhari shares same ideology with Boko haram
Lets assume Buhari did lie under oath about a Secondary School Certificate, what about Jonathan that lied about protecting Nigerians from external and internal aggression? Or his lies under oath to defend the Nigerian Constitution yet he allows his friends to break the country's criminal codes and laws every single day. You think corruption is lawful? When is he going to declare his assets? The problem with most of you Jonathan supporters is that you don't even know right from wrong anymore. You're all confused.
chronique: That sums it up. At least,Nigerians know who their friends and true allies are. Those who are putting so much trust and faith in the US to help Nigeria in this war, should smack themselves back to reality. The solution to boko haram must be found in Nigeria cos no serious help would come from the west.
Well, don't you think you're playing the victim here? Its your problem, you handle it yourselves. You don't see us saddling you with our problems do you? While others are spending money on R& D in their Military, yours are pocketing the money and transferring it to private accounts. Nobody takes you serious if you're not strong. Anyway, we have our own issues that we have to handle--- and its not like we're not your friends or allies--- but at this point we have a goal to reach and Nigeria is like that friend that you like but you know you have to cut off if not his actions will drag you down and destroy your life along with his; you have no choice but to let him self destruct if he wants to.
bokohalal: True. And the more than one woman in KULLE are not among this crowd but till voting day. And people will say they count cows in the North. Anyone that has travelled the Kano - Zaria - Kaduna road cannot dispute Hausa population figures.
Because a lot of Nigerians are too mentally lazy to read to know how vast the Hausa Kingdoms were before colonialism.
masseratti: please stop saying rubbish, how gagged can the press be?the soldiers has families no matter how it was people would have come out to confirm it,the purpose of shooting coup plotters and announcing it is to deter anyone else, so if your story was true why would they execute secretly.
I need 10 names of the allegedly 40 executed soldiers. I believe we can track down the families and confirm if any of their family members in the army have been missing since the period in question.
P.S: Watch PDP suddenly release an interview/story with the "family" of one of the "Executed" soldiers.
MansaMoussa: No Sir! Because the instability that would ensue from such coup would worsen the situation in the NE (the Mali situation)! Secondly, We lack enough Military Cohesion to sustain a violent Regime change today! Thirdly, with worsening Economic situation for the country, Western Sanctions would be disastrous for us! Fourthly, the Political Landscape appears Matured enough to effect a peaceful change(if PDP and APC pull this off, they'll go into history as setting the foundations of a Democratic Nigeria)! So no Sir! I wouldn't support a Coup in Nigeria today, but would probably have supported one in the 1960s, 70s and 80s because I saw Egypt, Brazil, Argentina, Libya, etc move forward under military regimes then!
Are you sorry for bringing to an end the Shagari government?
GMB: No, I'm not sorry, because I mentioned why we did it, and we proved our case.
That's a democratic process that could have extended.
GMB: So when you are a democracy you are entitled to steal your treasury dry, and put your people into pauperized positions, and destroy institutions, and destroy infrastructure?
So you blame Shagari for that coup?
GMB: Don't personalize. I'll blame the second republic...
For that?
GMB: For that. And when we came out we told the nation why and we conducted enquiries, documentary ones, not just hearsay.
So he still believes it is ok for the military to overthrow a democratic government if the democratic government is corrupt. Incidentally, many people believe that the current government is also corrupt. If the General's view is right, then a military coup in 2015 is justified...
Do you agree? (I strongly disagree because dictatorship is a greater evil than corruption. You can fight corruption within democracy)
So, if the Government is tyrannical what should be the proper recourse if the ordinary people are powerless to effect change? Certain democratic Govts ---i.e the United States--- have provisions in their constitution encouraging an overthrow of Government for the above reason. A coup was necessary and practical in December, 1983, it is not necessary or practical in Jan,2015.
eleven: THE PRESIDENTIAL DECLARATIONS By Peter Obi
In Aviation, all of us can see the upswing in bilateral agreements, improved services and the on-going renovation and remodelling of our airports. There is also what I consider audacious building of 5 new terminals simultaneously in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano and Enugu. This is in response to the perceived needs of the travelling public and businesses. On completion, they will change the face of our airports, improve commerce and tourism. So will the roads some of which I mentioned before, like the Lagos-Ibadan, Apapa-Oshodi are at various stages of completion, while some like the Benin-Ore road have been completed.
This whole paragraph makes no sense. Just a bunch of words strung together to confuse the reader. For example, tell me, who doesn't know that the airports are falling apart? And how the hell will airports or Apapa-Oshodi road improve tourism? Will foreigners go to your country just to stare at the road in Apapa, or what?
These are the kinds of dull clueless men that run Nigeria and people wonder why nothing works.
DenBosch: Hello great nairalanders pls i need your financial help to solve to problem which is been affecting me since d turn of the year...I need this cash to get my academic life bk in shape(Shelter)... Who are you voting for: Those that take your money and use it to buy Private Jets, mansions, say "Stealing is not corruption", and ensure you live a life of poverty begging total strangers for financial help or;
Those with a history of using the money Nigeria generates to make the life of the common man easy while creating a level playing field for everyone?
SuperMann: Who be dis man sef..make them go give am to shekau as sacrifice.. Very wrong statement.. Altho,am nt a buharian
I did a search of his twitter name (@Adeyanjudej9) and apparently he was exposed a while back by someone named @Omojuwa because of his past activities as a gang member on a University campus where he was alleged to have been involved in the deaths of 6 people on 3 separate occasions. It is alleged, according to @omojuwa and various sources familiar with the case, that he was arrested then charged to court and was facing the death penalty only for him to be sprung free and put to use by the GEJ Government.
These are the kind of people running Goodluck Jonathan's campaign.
How much hate can one man have in his heart? Nigerians pretend to be so religious but they hate anyone that doesn't speak their language, practice their religion, or comes from their ethnic group.
Yes, I'm talking about you Mr.Hypocritical Pastor.
firstEVA: I wonder what will become of Asari when Buhari wins
1.He will either try to forment trouble, be taken into custody, charged to court, then jailed for a Billion years as the terrorist he is or;
2.He will cause trouble and be killed in a confrontation with the Nigerian Military.
3.He will cause trouble, escape out of the country, be placed on Interpols Most wanted, then be extradited back to Nigeria, charged and convicted.
4.He will become one of the rebel leaders in the Niger-Delta when civil war breaks out in Nigeria, many atrocities (some which he didn't even commit and is completely innocent of) will be attributed to him and at the end of all the skirmishes he will he hounded off to The Hague to face justice.
These are all the scenarios staring him in the face. His big mouth has convicted him already for the future and I hope he doesn't stop talking.
naijapolitica: Close sources reveal that Gen. Buhari is not medically fit and diagnosed with PROSTRATE CANCER . I, the author of this piece, challenge him and all his APC team to deny these claim if they can with proof.
Buhari will acede to your request when Jonathan agrees to take a I.Q test to prove us wrong that he's not dumber than a bag of rotten onions.
Shine1177: BUHARI’S FIFTH DAUGHTER ZAHRA is living and schooling in the University of Surrey, UK, where her tuition and expenses are up to £30,000 EACH YEAR (N8 million)! Yet, Buhari has BEEN CLAIMING to Nigerians that he is poor, with ONLY N1m left in his account and 150 cows on his farm!
Is the money for his children falling out of the sky?
Is he only PRETENDING to be penniless to STEAL THE VOTES of the average Nigerian?
WE ARE WAITING for Buhari to explain to the SHOE MAKERS, GATE MEN, CORP MEMBERS, and YOUTH that donated their last kobo to his campaign.
Iroh88: I was getting irritated by the writer's bias, but when I got to the point below: I couldn't stomach the irritation anymore.
Firstly, the writer made it sound as though it is INEC's fault some people have decided not to go out and collect their PVCs!! Of course not all eligible voters have theirs ready (which is a lapse that cuts across all the geopolitical zones), but the writer tried to make it look as though people from "Jonathan's strongholds" are the worst hit. Does he have a proof of that??
INEC published a data detailing the percentage PVC collection as against what has been made available across the country and one saw that Lagos, which constitutes one of the major advantages of the opposition, was lagging behind with barely over 50% of cards available collected so far, while states like Akwa-Ibom has very large percentage (84% there about). I bet the writer is ignorant of this!!! Does INEC have to coerce voters to go out and collect their PVCs?? The answer is, NO!
And back to the highly disgraceful quote above; the writer stated the incidences of violence the opposition has suffered as though it were some minor thing that could easily be waved aside, yet when he mentioned those suffered by PDP, he sounded like heaven was about to fall!! Tell me, since he chose to use the words apart from, let me join him in the game of "trivialising": now, "apart from" the burning of Jonathan's bus and the destruction of his campaign posters, what other casualty has PDP suffered?? People (APC members) were shot at at in PH and their secretariat bombed, but the writer imagines these are of lesser severity compared to burning of a bus and destruction of posters from the tone of his voice!!
How bias can a journalist be!!!
This write up is one of such things that fuel the violence the writer wants to make us believe he's preaching against. The guy must be restrained before he causes more harm.
When I got to that quote, I stopped and decided to check out the link. I wasn't surprised when I saw the name of the writer.
Smh.
Barcanista, my ban ends today. Will be back guns blazing!!! Donphilopus I dey hail oo.
I thought I was the only one that had the same sentiments. The writer of the article is a dummy. Buhari was threatened in the last election, thus, refused to visit certain parts of the Eastern Region for his own safety. Not only that, Lagos voters are currently being disenfranchised on orders of the Presidency because they know they will lose badly down there. Then you add the ethnic cleansing in the North being encouraged (and partly orchestrated) by the Federal Government and you get an idea which road Nigeria is traveling through... all because of an inept man that loves power so much.
