I don't know how many kilometers that would be but it's quite a long distance. Almost like trekking from one LGA to the other. I have trekked from woji to Uniport in choba..
The distance I have covered trekking in search of work the last two weeks, if I sum together may cross one state into another.
It's not because I like trekking but because I may not have the transport fare and the cost of transportation now is very high.
It's a big burden on struggling Nigerians.
Sometimes you get caught by rain and your clothes get soaked. Hmmmm.
I'm right inside UNICAL now but warming up to make my return.

Lifeinbits: Myself and my girlfriend have been dating for almost three years that she sometimes stays in my house too. I have always had the intention of traveling abroad but i don't know how, so last year my girlfriend brought the idea of traveling and how she wants to try US study route and i encouraged her to do so. I also supported her so much with my money by helping her to pay her application fee and TOEFL exam. While doing all these, we had a conversation and she told me that if she is able to get a fully funded offer that we will be going together and I will be going with her as dependent. Now my girlfriend has gotten admission but she is yet to apply for visa and she has changed plans. She does not want me to go with her rather she is advising that I should also use the study route ifi want to travel.
Note : we had the intentions of getting married but right now she doesn't want us to get marry.

I am married with a kid, my husband traveled out of the country for a greener pasture, I moved out of our rented house and relocated back to my mom's place.
We had sold our properties for 300k he told me he doesn't know how long it will take him to get a job in the new country and I should use the 300k to start up a business so i will be able to take care of our daughter until he will be stable in the new country.
I have decided to start selling foodstuffs in the front of the house and i will use the remaining money for my daughter school fees in January.
My mom asked me to borrow her 120k to pay for my brother school fee and i refused explaining to her why i can't give her the money and she has been giving attitudes and refused to speak to me, i went to the market today i bought xmas clothes for my daughter and a wrapper for my mom she rejected it.
I know she is doing all this for me to give her the money but i will not give it to her no matter what. I don't understand why she is angry when she knows that my husband is not around i should use the money wisely because if i am broke i have no one else to help me.
Am i wrong for refusing to help her?

IntelChief: My elder sister is around 32 years and still not serious with marriage. Her only focus is on making money and she had been very successful in that aspect. She has a well paying job and is not only comfortable but also supports me financially sometimes.
But I just can't imagine why she is not disturbed about the fact that she is still single at her age. A lot of guys I know had been approaching her but she never accepts even a relationship offer from them, talk more of marriage. (And am very sure that she is not a lesbian or any of that).

So I currently work with one of the top commercial banks and I was posted to one of their branches on the mainland very close to my place of residence. So I incur close to zero cost of transportation, no traffic issue, no stress. And the salary is 100k, no promotion in sight, career growth is uncertain and the role isn't really great for my CV. I'm a teller. Better remain in that your mainland ooooooh.
Last week I did an interview via zoom because of the nature of my work and I got another job, but on the island. It's a private equity firm and the pay is 150k. The cost of transportation for the month is about 20k. There's great career growth and opportunities for self development. However, I fear the stress of going to the island and back daily. Waking up as early as 4am sometimes and coming back home late.
Please advise me on which to choose. I have till Monday to decide.

But why are people so in love with Corolla? I know that the car is strong and reliable, but it's definitely not the only strong and reliable car out there. When we were still in school, whether you scored 70% or 100%, it is "A". So if Toyota Corolla is good at 100%, there are still others that are good at 90%; both are good.
In place of Corolla, we still have Honda Civic, Mazda3, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Forte, Nissan Sentra, Camry, accord etc. They may not be as good as Corolla, but they are definitely not too bad. My opinion
