modsfucker: Go and check the meaning of the word you highlighted, please. You should be old enough to understand the meaning of words in context. Nobody talk about parents rescuing their abducted children after paying ransom but the incompetent Buhari wants to claim what he didn't do. Here is the word to use next time. Ransomed |

nairalee: So they are just waking up. The bandits gave yesterday as the deadline else they'll kill them all. So if they fulfill their promise what will Buhari end up rescuing today? Their ghosts or what? There is nothing like rescue. Buhari can only pay millions in ransom as usual so the bandits can buy more weapons to kidnap more people. |

So I guess you're the one who needs to understand that the gravity of the situation at hand is more than the Buharipobia you are displaying. He didn't rescue anybody, he paid billions in ransom. Anybody can pay ransom. |

simplesearch: Israel that doesn't negotiate with terrorist have some things in place to arrive at that kind of rigid position. They have nothing in place. They just understand that ransom is a fuel for insecurity. Terrorists won't bother them with kidnapping when they know the government will never pay. he should continue negotiating to save those lives till he's able to put in place a worthy security measure. Otherwise he should expose his family members to same risk and allow them experience same fate, then nobody will tackle him again whenever such a thing happen. Buhari paid billions and release Boko top commanders to save Chibok girls, how far has that helped the country? Instead, the terrorist got bolder, more money to buy weapons to attack us. |

Gather transport money and decided to travel to a place they don't know for fun skipping several towns along the way until they stop. Name the job that he needed to import Fulanis for that the locals can't do? This is not a serious question unless you have never lived in Nigeria. There is nowhere in Nigeria where you don't find them in large numbers doing works that locals can supposedly do. |

Let me remind the Jihadists on this forum that the world is a global village and should there be any mess-up, the fight will be beyond Nigeria alone. Buhari and all those sponsoring fulani jihadists should better be warned! No one cares about you unless they can make money through you. If you don't believe me, ask Iraqi Christians who have almost gone extinct after western involvement. The Jihadists can only be checkmated by a stable government and not some ragtag rebels. |

Sammy07: Lol.. Just like saying the President shouldn't involve if the states finances are having crisis The CBN is not the president of the banks. Even going with your wrong analogy, a president should not interfere if a state house is trying to impeach a governor with the legal power they possess. It is none of his business and should be condemned if he tries such. But we are too sentimental as a people. A board carrying out its legal duties is not a "crisis". |
Business › Re: First Bank Shake-Up: Hassan-Odukale Replaces Awosika As Chairman by ivolt: 3:49pm On Apr 30, 2021 |
jaxxy: Yes bt emefiele asked for the reason the CEO was removed the board said have given their valid reasons if any. It’s either the current CEO was ment to fix the Otudeko issue bt wasn’t given free hand or the new CEO is an oteduko boy to do his bidding. This is the same excuse we make for our leaders too. They aren't given free hands but would never mention it until a crisis erupt. No bank CEO has a free hand in any country in the world. They have their job to do and the board and regulators has theirs. If u look at Emefiele only reverses people to their former positions and changed board of directors.
The chairman is as responsible as the CEO she was removing. The board has the right to remove a CEO. Even presidents gets impeached before their tenure is up. If the CBN wants to take away such power and start hiring and firing CEOs itself, then it should send a new bill to the national assembly instead of background bullying. Emefiele has released a statement and the reasons for his actions is now clearer. He dissolved the board because he told them not to fire the CEO and they refused. I hoped to see how they violated board rules but he failed to mention such. |

Agbegbaorogboye: The question is how she got there in the first place. For her to have made such a move against the MD shows she's in cahoots with Otudeko. If she got there purely on her merit and not just connections, no how would she be ready to swim or sink with Otudeko. It was clear from start the CBN would never take that decision lying low given that Emefiele himself is a former bank MD. The sacked CEO did nothing about Otudeko for the last six years he has been at the top. We are just too sentimental from citizens to leaders! |

Womanizer: Willfully neglecting to pursue recovery of a mammoth loan that has clearly gone bad and shielding the insider cum related party who is responsible for those loans is mismanagement anyhow you want to look at it! Here we go again. Where in CBN official communication did you get this from? We seriously are very bad at sticking to the main issue without deviating and instead bringing up tangential ones to defend some wrongdoing. |
