Thanks but the truth is I had to borrow to raise that amount and its not even complete yet. My problem is money and I don't want to drive rentals cuz I'm working too.

Thanks

You are being warned by Gazzuzz and others but you no wan hear word. There is a reason this thread we always advise newbies to read backwards before jumping in but typical naija laziness dey always worry some people.
I started on Uber 2017 with a 2nd new 407 and trust me is suffered I became very well known in Ladipo in fact it was a constant for me.i used the car for just 6 months and I was in Ladipo at least 2ce every month that is apart from other issues I don't want to go into. eventually I sold the car at a good price luckily for me after cars 45 wan discourage me with dem useless pricing...i bid my time and because I also work I was able to then use that money to get a corolla 07 on HP and believe me in almost one year I have not visited the mechanic for nothing other than servicing but it came with a validated mileage of 87k so I got a very good deal or car as well without the usual shock or shaft issues and that's to computerglobal who chop my money well for various inspection reports but it was worth it in the end.
So guy I can tell you for free if you don't have up to 1m at least don't bother itself jumping in you will cry except you are just very fortunate to get a good car from a desperate sale or Canada runaway and such don't come around everyday. Secondly the market now is not like before it is very saturated now.Gone are the days when Saturday was a steady 2.0 surge in the island or Airport was a steady 2.0 surge every hour as planes landed, several great people here don join fence don't go and buy a car and in 6 months you don enter fence..word is enough for the wise....
LRU was there at about 6.15pm. Google map saved me, got a request from awolowo road ikoyi to surulere at 4.30pm, Google map advised iyanoworo- Anthony- ikorodu road and rider agree. That's how I got to surulere before 6pm.

Always check Google map, wherever you're driving to, check. It was save you time
I always check Google maps before I start out any trip especially long trips and view how the road plan is for any heavy traffic along the route so I can detour immediately so the only traffic that can catch me will be something that just occurred and will not be much.
People who hang their phones on holders and still allow the map lead them are on a long thing cos it would lead you into traffic some times.i practically feel vulnerable without Google maps cos I hate traffic.

@ GforGee: I don't do more than 12 hours a day and I do only Uber.

For that particular trip I had a 1.5 surge. And Also Uber did not charge 25%. It was zero %

If I had wait for vehicles from nairaland, I won't have this vehicle.

I just checked these two locations on Gmaps and it shows distance as 36km how come you have 62km showing apparently some hanky panky is involved...

E hailing business with their "Suffering and Smiling" fares.

After driving for 40KM and 1hour in this Lagos. MM2 to Lekki Phase 1.

Fare (Taxify ) 3,500

Less toll fees ( Airport and Lekki ) 400

Less commission 465

Actual income earned N2,635

How then do we factor in cost of fuel, wear and tear etc.

E hailing fares are just ridiculous.

For how long will my people continue with this?

How do you calculate your own toll fee as a debit when you will surely get it back abi na you dey pay for toll gate again

Issue 1: If steering wheel vibrates along, query brake discs. If pulsations is only at pedal, look around the ABS. It could also be normal ABS function depending on speed.

Issue 2: I don't understand the query.

Pulsation is only at the Pedal....

Issue 2: if I hit the brakes on an uneven road or pothole, the brakes are of no effect I have to press it again.last week on admiralty which is paved a keke suddenly swerved into my path, I slammed the brakes to avoid hitting it and the car just kept moving luckily there was some distance so I had to swerve out and press the brakes again before the Car slowed down..i think the brakes need to be checked anyways..can anyone recommend a good Toyota Mech available on Saturdays...

Hello Peeps..does anyone experience either of these two issues on corolla 06...sometimes if I hit the brakes hard it starts vibrating under my leg like a spring of sorts then secondly if maybe I am approaching a pothole and I have previously hit the brake once I enter the pothole or bump the brakes seems to fail unless I lift my leg and press it again..what could be the issue..our super techs please assist

Seriously this Uber rating is really annoying, them just spoil my mood, infact I no do again..
Riders should be educated on how these rating stuff works
Just see how I stressed myself for this rider even gave her free trip, bought water For her, cause she was cashless..(just Goodwill) she was so happy and gave me 1 star thinking it was the highest
The next thing I heard was "oga is only one star that hv entered o, how will I go back and add the remaining stars lol, I just weak and dumbfounded .
From 5 star to 4.7stars wtf

This is not true..i monitor my ratings and a 1 star rating will NEVER drop you below 0.01 otherwise you case is critical with multiple 1 star ratings so you can only have dropped from 4.80 to 4.79 no more definitely not 5 to 4.7...thats exaggerated..

It can be discouraging getting the 1 star cos it takes about 5-10 5star rating to rise again by same 0.1

I am new in this part of business. I intend getting a 2004 Corolla soon:
1. How easy will it be to find a competent/reliable driver at this place point, and how do I go about getting one

2. What should I be targeting in terms of weekly returns

3. Would this venture still be viable for me, or did I come in a little bit late.

Kindly assist with this questions, and pardon the fact that it might be redundant.

Thanks

It's one of two things...

You buy the Car and drive it yourself on the platform for about 2-3 months, you would get all the answers you need pronto.

Option 2

Go back the last 500 pages and read till date am sure you would get to experience the flip side of things You would probably get to see how weekly rental went from 35k about this time last year to 20/25k currently but it's better you experience things ya self....

I could remember someone has reported one scammer named Rita on this group b4

I no her house number, will it make any sense if I storm her house with police just because of 2,400 naira or I should let it go ?

Lesson learnt, no more transfer, it's either cash or card period.

That is not her real picture true caller is bringing out I guess she must have used another person picture intentionally, she has a tinted yellow color hair, she is short and has big bumbum, her skill color looks policed she is not dark

The unsaid rule for transfers is that they must be same bank so that there is no story, however once it is not same bank , my broda...jejely wait with the rider till you get alert in fact tell the rider you must get alert or you drive to ATM to get cash...this transfer something you have to shine ya eye...

I experienced those wayo fuel attendants at mobil lekki road. Yesterday i was mostly getting card payments and fuel was so low. I managed to gather 2k, used 500 to eat then drove straight to buy fuel with 1500 remaining.
The guy already sold 2 litres for keke marwa and didn't reset it.
I was just watching him as he dispense in my tank. When he was done.
I ask him why didn't he start from zero, why from 2 liters...?
Guy started claiming nonsesne...
I just told him, you have 2 options, fill in the remaining 2 liters or call me ur manager. Else i wont allow u sell to another person.

Him advice himself jeje....

Had an almost similar experience at Mobil Maryland on Sunday.i was buying 6k fuel. I observed he started at zero and was selling I partly sat in the Car but my legs out and looking around but also monitoring as the numbers sped by then when it was getting to 5k I could sense the guy being fidgety so I pretended to be absent minded when it got just over 5k he somehow stopped the machine and claimed it was power outage but other pumps were still selling at that point I knew something fishy was up then he calculated how much of 6k was left and tried to restart he wanted to reduce it by like 120 and eventually we agreed he should sell 800 to make up the 6k instead of 680 he mentioned so while I once again pretended to be absent minded he was able to quickly make the 800 start flashing as if he had sold it already, I just calmly told him to sell my fuel that it did not move, by then he knew the game was up and sold my fuel for me.it just so sad how these attendants just try to fleece people of their hard earned cash forgetting they too aspire for the same level of wealth and it is sure they would suffer a similar or worse fate. Long and short be eyes open at Mobil Maryland especially for high fuel purchases,in fact I think once you cannot get down from your car to buy your fuel you become a target...

You dreamers that could not make a strike work last time out want to try again and the drivers struggling to make 5k a day you think they would be ready to off their app and not make money to meet up their rental.
The one reason e-hailing would always be challenged here is because it was never planned for driver rentals yet we have made it a staple and it would always be the stumbling block for progress...i wish everyone the best on their daily hustle.

Everyday more and more cars are being added to e-hailing business, the platform is saturated with lots of cars and drivers, even SA don't have the numbers of cars we av here in Nigeria, Nigeria has only Lagos and Abuja for uber business but in SA there are more cities with uber service making it more profitable for drivers.

This is grossly understated..You should see at least 50...

Just imagine calling me mumu for leaving a message here about what I want. A lot of y’all here are very uncivilized, I have been on uber/taxify for a long time and it has helped me in a lot of ways in paying bills. Me wanting a fresh tokunbo doesn’t mean I don’t know what I am doing. Anyway i’ll Work even harder and buy it outright in a few months. Better than having to buy a used car not fully knowing the real problems of the car.

When it comes to buying a car whether foreign or Naija used you have to shine your eyes well because these days even some foreign used come with snow or flood issues but your chances are still very much better than a naija used corolla.
Today on what basis would that owner claim to have used such car very well except the very few and rare owner purchased and is relocating in under a year or distressed sale but most naija used now have passed by uber or Taxify and the damage from dere is irreversible.
However if you get any good corolla for that amount or say between 1.8 and 2m which is the true market value for a good and low mileage not tampered 06-07 corolla then I can point you to a company who offers HP at a better rate than what these car dealers offer outside that is a killer.holla at me..

Hello brother, I beg to differ..my take is this..any driver that is serious minded...honest with himself...and has bills to pay (I means does not have another source of livelihood) can make this work...I drove on this platform after I resigned my appointment with the Bank to set up my business..

Honestly I was comfortable driving because I realise I ALWAYS had money in my pocket..for me the only thing was that I was picking alotta my former customers ;Dey were acting like driving was a curse angry. me I no send dem ooo but driving was not my main source of income. brother if I had nothing else to do and driving was what was paying ALL my bills, I mean my 9-5 den what fahrenz is doing is highly possible..i tell you..ive been there...To be frank, I learnt a lot from dem Ogunvic and romeo3..i admired their work ethics minus the fraudulent activities, does guys motivated me and I knew it was possible.

Like every business, if you dont have good money management and know how to save money, trust me, no matter how much you make you will be broke perpertually..ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE...

Let me say this here...i still have my daytime job so uber is a side hustle. However I know I possess a level of intelligence that is higher than the average person out there and I believe I use that to play where driving on Uber is concerned very much to my advantage and not many drivers out there can get to that level no disrespect and probably fahrenz or r.... also possesses same level of IQ or maybe even more and so he utilizes it to earn himself good bucks and this is not salt n pepper things however this does not now mean every other driver can achieve this some can not just meet up no matter how hard they try because that level of reasoning is not just there however there is one key fact in all of this.i have been driving for over 20 years in Lagos and before I started on Uber I would say I had knowledge of roads in Lagos a good 60%-70% But knowing roads and being intelligent all still took a back seat, I still had to understand many things and tricks of the trade meanwhile I was also battling regular weekly Ladipo visits so trust me no newbie should jump into HP e-hailing if they love demself just go looking for rentals and learn the ropes for at least 3-6 months before you then say you want to go the HP route Becos by then you would understand the terrain, even understand your spending habit and savings mindset to know if you can run that race well even more but to be sincere some of these HPs are too expensive, finance houses are still much better.I sold my Peugeot after seeing Hell with it mainly Becos it was bought 2nd new and the previous user apparently had damaged it so much but I love that car so now am also on GO with a corolla and for 6 months ave not had to visit a mechanic other than servicing I can want to look back on the peugeot days as wasted but it was a much needed learning curve now I can afford to save at least 1k daily just to at least have the savings mindset.so please newbies don't go HP...go rental first but people like fahrenz are rare even some oldies can never meet up such targets no matter how much they try exceptvthru dubious means....just my 2kobo

Please if you are in any group of Uber or taxify pass this message to all drivers and car owners. From 11th of February to 14th of February no driver should drive again after 8pm. Indeed Uber/taxify app and any other e-hailing firm will be on but stop driving at 8pm for the safety of your life and car not to be damage.

From 11th to 14th February is election week. Do not drive on Friday. Tell any of your family members to come home quickly. Explain to the person that gave you car for delivery or better park don't work that week. For hire purchase people quickly tell your partner about this week. This is for the safety of our lives and property. Thank you. Please pass this message
#DriveWithYourSense

What always puzzles me is how stupid messages like these are quickly broadcast and retweeted all over the place. The drivers that would still work overnight would do their thing regardless of your election fables of the unknown..Abeg make una go park Well instead of instilling unneeded fear in the uninformed.
