What an euberventful week...my car fan developed an issue wednesday night around 11pm had to abruptly end a trip at maryland roundabout as car was overheating.rider apparently had difficulty getting another ride and seemed to have to walk to to the busstop after trying to get another ride from my car..next day i get a call from Uber to go for vehicle inspection and i would be disabled, i put two and two 2geda that the rider most likely reported but the uber dude from abroad makes it sound like a random issue.am disabled till i do an inspection which i eventually do on saturday n pass. on monday am forced to leave the island to go to uber office at maryland to submit my inspection report PDF report oh that i could have sent via mail .After waiting like 30/40mins becos the queue long.. na from their staircase e start.. i sort out my issue and am ready to hit the road but i rush back to work and somehow monday ends and i dont even take any rides.tuesday today i finally go online but no rides so i decide to try out the Airport as i see only 3 cars on the queue.i finally get my first ride in 5 days headed to oworo side...we get there and Gbola!!!! the terrible roads of oworo burst my car sump and immediately the oil is spilled on the road..i have never experienced such before in over 15 years of driving well i guess there is always a 1st.so my whole day ruined and new sump of 12k to be purchased 2morow plus 8k engine oil...unplanned xpenses.... embarassed cry cry..life of an Uber driver..please be veru careful of oworo roads..terrible sumtins..

Bros, I don't understand why you're trying so hard to coerce every partner into collecting the security deposit. Is it your car? The likes of you and gazzuzz that collect security deposit still litter here with stories that touch. Every partner must not be like you.

Uber collects cancellation fee, taxify doesn't. Gazzuzz collects 3k delivery fee to supply his 'one in town' Mobil 1, others don't. So please, allow other partners to do as they wish. While you concentrate on collecting your so called assurance fee from new drivers, others prefer to do due diligence and get good drivers with no stories. Everyone to his own kettle.

And to the drivers that are paying this assurance, hope you know you ain't getting that money back. And lastly, if you must pay assurance money, please, let it be a tokumbo. Don't pay assurance on a lemon car o!

well said.trying to force people to collect asssurance is none of his business actually.

Abeg, all these dogon turenci Don too much, car owners should just go open another thread.

After driving in the peak of surges and partner boosts, I find uber very sluggish nowadays, it's like the number of drivers has been tripled. Na only rainfall de bring surge now. Even my gbagada/ifako axis that used to be a sure bet each morning come dry yesterday.
More grace to your steering to all drivers still driving for others, una de try well well.

MARCH/April were surge/boost months.
More drivers are joining and more people are investing and more work is needed. I'll soon be out, thank God my little set back is over. Time to give my ride a facelift after all the wear and tear of the past three months.

For Surge and Boost am sure those times would be back as we draw towards the end of the year but after my experience last weekend i can almost confidently say Uber is now over saturated and anyone thinking of jumping in for immediate profits is only wasting their time and need to be really patient.Things are no more like the first 3/4 months of this year when Uber wan take surge blind us.Saturdays was an absolute delight from 1.8 surge for morning for mainland to 2.0 surge at night for island but now gyne even monday morning that used to be 2.0 on the island that could increase to 2.4/2.5 from surge is now only on 1st Mondays of the month where there are expected monthly board/exco meetings in companies etc..maybe now that there are more drivers there is no need for surge except for rains even Airport that was sure banker 2.0 on some nights at certain times on the hour mark i dont know when last i saw Airport surge. Now getting a ride seems to be you being closest to the rider and having good confirmation/cancellatn rates but its all good.lets have fun and still make the little money but those newbies who are jumping to do 30/35k weekly i wish you the best.
P.S take note of some really terrible potholes especially on the super highway.there is one currently at gbagada inwards 3MB before charly boy that has slowly grown into a mini gulley..it is in the middle lane..a car entered in my front yesterday and the whole front arms came off so lets be safe n careful out there..
As our Ogunvic used to say lets keep Lagos moving..
Happy Sunday..

Stop trying to justify yourself..some people will never ever get it no matter how hard you try.if you have a need for speed and the car is good to go then let fly abeg and stop all these holier than thou people telling you what is not.i was doing 120 yesterday on 3MB rider was quiet then we got to iyana isolo and I slowed down cos I was trying to avoid bad potholes and the rider goes do I normally drive this fast I was like and you kept quiet in 3MB...meanwhile in other news Uber suddenly pulled me up for vehicle inspection check and said until I do it am off the grid so am in freeze mode till 2morow I suspect my rider of yesterday put forward some bad report about me cos the car developed a fault just as we started the trip and I drove to Maryland roundabout which is safe so they could get another ride now uber don mark my car down...riders sha...uber never gree tell.me why I dey go do inspection but am putting two n two 2geda....

word of advise, don't do peugeot. Don't ask why I will not answer.

Why cause a Furore and run off without settling it.what i know is this Peugeots are very electronically sensitive cars especially 406 models n above so you cannot just go meet any mechanic otherwise OYO is your case so some novice driver who knows nothing about cars is equally also a danger. But an experienced and attentive driver with the right mechanic will do just fine but for a newbie just go toyota or hyundai and have peace of mind.i have struggled with my Peugeot but i love the car its a delight to drive, super steady on top speed and my riders are almost always wowed...infact for me i always catch a thrill when i am watching policemen confused as to whether to stop me or not as am approaching( my car is perceived to be used mostly by military folks) you cannot vandalize the car/ brainbox...Oyo is also your case without the car key...so like most other cars it has its pros and cons but not just any driver should use it...

Hello house,

Carried a rider from Lekki phase1 to Park view estate ikoyi on 1.5x . Uber said I should collect 750 naira. My earnings for the trip was about 900 naira. I discovered that the 300 naira Lekki-Ikoyi bridge toll was not included in the fare . I reported it to them in app and the person is asking for the receipt of the toll . I really don't understand it. My route is there, I passed the toll gate. I have not responded yet to his message. Any idea please?

Sorry Bro...no receipt no cash.that is the oyinbo way of life.after i experienced this once at MMIA i have left to always ask for my toll receipts that 200/300 mean sumthing

Only driver/partners can understand some things in this business and he was not attacking any brand he simply spoke the honest truth which a lot of people are scared of saying because they don't want to get blocked.

He would be wrong if the accusations were false, him telling the rider to use another brand could possible be where it is not too cool. He could have made the rider reason that himself.

Please what exactly is going on here..I don't understand.did uber force you to drive on their platform.since I started driving on Uber my 2.2ltr only gives me ×2 earnings hard as I have tried to find out the issue causing high fuel consumption but am grateful to God and still working on solving the issue and yet I know most people are making ×3 or ×4 earnings. So really what is all this needless fuss about commissions and high fees.how many businesses can you do that you will earn ×3 or ×4 within a week or less.
Abeg make una park well abi don't we see people posting 90/100k profit on top max 30k fuel...people sef..person no understand again....

Talking about experience:

Please note that I am a newbie(75 trips in all) and I rely strictly on the map as I no sabi Lagos road at all.

Was on the road by 7am yesterday, completed2 trips on the mainland then the 3rd took me to the island. Dropped the rider off and got another almost immediately location Osbourne estate. Got to the rider, called and he said he is coming down now in his oyinbo accent. Waited for good 11 minutes before be showed up, got in and told me he is headed to the airport and was kinda late, I took off,got to the airport he asked how much it was, I ended trip and was waiting for the fare , Omo no network eh! Airtel don kill me I cried , oyinbo say he is in a hurry but that I should send my account details and fare to him and he will transfer later so I left, got out of the airport and network showed up so I quickly parked and was typing my details when a police hilux blocked me and ordered me out, ahh I don enter! They showed me the no parking sign and Every so I tried explaining but one of them got inside my car and ordered me to drive to the station, while driving I pleaded with the police man he said the fine was 50K, ahh I have made just 4800 and my fuel sign is up already(hadn't bought fuel yet) I begged ended up taking all I had made and I still had to thank their oga join... now am angry.. I got another request , called the guy he said he was in front of excellence hotel, drove there he said he was opposite ahh ahh... got there he said I have passed I should drive go take a u turn again, I screamed cancel please this is too much already, he pleaded I finally got to him(spent 15 minutes) saw another driver there we spoke, he told me the trip was to iyana ipaja, eh, am not going oo,he begged that he wants to chop taxify bonus today and that we will get a trip from there ...OK... the family came out and said I was going to carry 5 passengers, eh! eh!eh!! I refused. ..... 30 minutes into the journey a commercial yellow bus wanted to replicate fast and furious and scratched my car, I parked in the middle of the road , wasted 20 minutes there ,finally he drop 5k and I let him go... got to iyana ipaja , dropped off passenger, another request and was 3 minutes away, got there via map and it turned out the map was wrong, ended up following bike to get to the rider who was about 12 minutes away, where are you going sir I asked,he said drive I will direct you, the ride took me to the boundary of Lagos and ogun, somewhere in alakuko . I just vex.. off data.... drive 1hour jejely to my house....

Newbies... always ask where the trip leads before you navigate to the rider...
That was one Saturday to remember

I apologize for the errors..... please bosses in the house, share do's and don't's for us newbies. ThAnks for your usual cooperation...

If you no experience am first hand how u go fit explain am to people.it is a standard to always call the customer to know the temprament of the rider ànd also to be very sure of the location stated by the rider cos sometimes map fit dey play yu wayo.
On to the story of this Airport issue walahi only this weekend saturday and sunday i was at airport road btw local and intl and at least three times i saw uber/taxify cars bing towed away i was like chaii...seriously maybe uber/taxify na dem go do CSR promo to their drivers to never for any reason park anywhere around the airport except the main car park

Just got an info an old generation bank sack all their drivers and they are to drop all car keys ending of this month.

The bank want to start using UBER,to them is cheaper than paying their contract staff drivers monthly salary and cost of maintaining their vehincles.

So braise up guys.Maintain a clean car, dress nicely, always have good conversation with your passenger.

To educated and graduate drivers, endeavor to have your RESUME in your car,you never cant tell who you are picking up.

This will not likely be true.no bank will solely depend on Uber for their staff movements.it will be outsourced to a car leasing company.

We all should be careful while driving in traffic at night, something happened to me last night and feel like sharing it here, I was at Abiola garden heading to toll gate and there is always a little traffic around there at night, someone started beating my trunk that something is coming out from my silencer, i did not answer cos I sensed there is danger and I immediately wind up my 2 front window cos I wound down since am going home, before I know it, someone else was already by my passenger's side and used his hand to stop the rolling window from outside, took my phone and disappear(mind you, I did not hang my phone). I was like ooh, this dream should better stop now cos it can never be real cos all this happened between 2-3seconds. I couldn't stop my car to look out for them, and other cars around me was just going as if nothing has happened, some was even shouting and honking at me to leave the road and in my mind, I was like "YOU'LL ARE MAD, AIN'T HERE WHEN SOMEONE STOLE MY PHONE"

So let's all be careful whenever in traffic, don't hang your phone even when you wind up, and keep your phone at where they can't easily get it.

Seems the best way to go now is to do theft and burglary insurance since taxify cover is useless while you are not on trip.

Oga are you a JJC in lagos. You are in traffic and your window was rolled down okay sebi you dey mise your A/C.cmon this is a schoolboy lagos traffic trick na.distract you and steal your phone which is on your passenger seat.i almost never wind down except if the car get A/C issue.Well i guess lesson learnt for you.
