Guys how do you target riders in mm1 and mm2 Airport.. I saw enuf cars clamped down thus week.. How can one be safe while taking requests and picking riders.. Cos it doesn't make sense paying 400 parking fee to carry a rider paying 1200..

Does getting you car clamped make sense?? Wetin you dey find for Airport if you cannot pay the N400.
Anyway this is what I do for Airport trips which I usually do in the evenings.
I target the hour mark when there are sometimes surge but I also check how many cars are in queue.if more than 3 I don't bother or at worse I do one drive by from local to international and leave if no request comes.Never park anywhere around there except car park if you love yourself

My dear we do wait for people that went for shopping. Those that went for night clubs, those that went for churches. Our responsibility is to deliver service. When u render a wonderful service customers would want to use u again.

I have rode a woman the whole day from children going to school, she went to market, went to bank and back home.
Likewise a contactor.

U may not do it but people do. After all the charges when u are not moving is minimal compare to when you are in motion

I made a comment in one direction..you are going in a totally different direction.I never said you should not patronize people who leave the card running while you are waiting for them we all like dem short waits but long trips but from my experience and based on how you explained how these guys allow you run the meter "everyday" I am at least 70% certain their card use is fraudulent because any sensible person after the first day would negotiate with you rather than leave the trip running but like ifeez said wetin consign

How I successfully paid my debt with taxify.

Late March I was at home waiting to get a ride before I hit the road. As usual I normally get rides from house. The maximum waiting time at home before my phone rings was 15min. On that fateful day I stayed at home from 6am till 10am. So strange. I decided to leave the house. Then I had no business with uber as I was contended with my taxify earn as uber seems to be monkey dey work bamboo dey chop.
So I have to change my location. After driving around till 2pm I got no ride. I decide to try requesting myself with another phone. Then I discovered my orders are not coming to me despite being the closest car. I tried using my card instantly the ride came to me. I now discovered I have been subjected to card rides alone as I was owing taxify commission of N39,000. I have to call their cc they said i ow them i have to pay before i get a cash ride. I humbly went and completed my uber account verifications to enable me ride. Then I started with uber. And abandoned taxify. But working with uber is very frustrating if u have rode with taxify. The distance u cover with taxify and get paid 1000 on uber it's 600 despite their 25% It's like working for fuel alone. I decide to be accepting taxify card rides in order to clear the debt.
The more i ride cards on taxify the more i get frustrated cos it has not been easy riding what u won't get the cash at least to buy food chop. I now decide to combine the two. Leaving taxify app on only when my tank is full. As at last week I had -N29,000 until I met two guys that God used to offset my bills. The day I met them last Monday, I took them to lakowe side, they ask me to be with them through out the birthday party while my app was on reading. I gladly looked for somewhere plug my phone to ensure I was online. After the party I took them home. I made friends with them. They said they are into entertainment they go many places they would use me as their driver. I don't mind. That night the ride was 9k worth.

The next day they went to elegushi with me and we stayed drink while my app is on reading. The most interesting aspect is that the time we spend at a place is very much compared to the time we are on the road burning fuel. And it has always been as I arrive they would tell me to on my app and request with their phone. Even before they bath and eat the ride is already linked and counting. I get lunch and drink from them while my ride keeps counting. After each day they would Thank me for coming and doing them favour on card ride alone. I tell them u are welcome. They would ask me hope I don't mind they only use card ride? I tell them well am doing it for friends sake though I would like to get cash. Yesterday I had first ride with them for like 3hours. They asked me to hustle around and meet them by evening. I hit the road had two rides. I was about to go and pick a woman on uber request for the third ride they called. I cancelled the uber request head straight to them. They requested then we kick off. Right now I have cleared the debt with about 7k fuel expenses. I have to call taxify customer care and they removed me from moratorium Lol @ mora

Good to hear you have cleared your debt however from how you have described these card trips i strongly suspect a case of card fraud here whereby someone else's card is being used to make the payments possibly without the person's knowledge. How many people would leave the meter running on a daily basis only to be relaxing and drinking beer...anyway no fault or liability can be traced to you kind off except if taxify want to investigate why you are the only one always picking them up if maybe the card owner finally reports assuming it is card fraud.

Wrong move.... Unnecessary. When u can get request between Abule Egba and College Road axis.

How you want make the guy garner Uber experience..na from there you go learn say V.I is not the almighty location ...na Positioning...besides for the sake of newbies..if you are in Ikeja Axis your best bet is to head towards the Airport..of you check and see there are no more than 3/4 cars in queue go there especially on the hour mark..there are usually 2.0 surge every other hour i have observed but Abule to VI on empty...haba na wetin hapin...

Are you an experienced Uber driver with a good driving record, i.e. you can drive in Lagos and its environs without having a major or minor accident?

Do you have two verifiable guarantors working in any reputable organization in Lagos and earns more than #2mm per annum.

Do you reside in a gated compound with smooth and pothole free road within Kosofe Local Govt. Area?

Do you have NGN 55,000 to be paid upfront as Security Deposit (Refundable).

Can you deliver NGN 40,000 as Weekly Rental without any default or stories.

Are you ready to share Car Maintenance, Repair and Servicing on a 50/50 basis (You pay 50% and Car Owner pays 50%).

Do you have what it takes to drive an extremely clean, well maintained and fuel-efficient Toyota Corolla 2012 bought brand new in Nigeria?

PLEASE NOTE:

The car owner will not entertain any default or stories about weekly rental payment.

Car repairs & maintenance will only take place at Car Owner’s approved Mechanic Workshop using Manufacturer’s genuine spare parts and recommendations.

Car Manufacturer recommended engine oil grade is 0w-20, 5w-20 and 5w-30.

Vehicle inspection is a must for the driver before signing the agreement or paying Security Deposit.

Verification of Guarantors claims will be conducted before you are allowed access to the car.

A mutually agreed sum will be deducted from the weekly rental payment whenever the Car Owner request to use the car for a full day.

No midnight driving is allowed. Car is insured but your Life isn’t. So it’s very important you take your life security seriously to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Are you the experienced driver we are looking for?

If Yes, Call - ‭0818 348 2522 immediately to schedule vehicle inspection and complete the necessary documentation.

IT IS HIGHLY ADVISABLE NOT TO CALL IF YOU DON’T MEET ANY OF THE REQUIREMENTS ABOVE.

THANKS.

IT IS HIGHLY ADVISABLE YOU DUST YOUR CLOTH, VISIT UBER OFFICE, BECOME A PARTNER AND DRIVE THE CAR YA SELF...SEE IF YOU CAN MEET YOUR OWN REQUIREMENTS...

Uber money is so useless that you practically can't do anything driving with uber. One can't feed nor even fuel the car. You'll just be driving and completing more trips with very little income. I think it's time we start a campaign against uber low fare price. It's either they return the 40% that was slashed from the original fare price, or reduce the commission they change from 25% to 10%. We can't be slaving for uber, and if they do not reconsider this fare pricing, very soon they will lose both drivers and riders. This is cooperate stealing.

OYO....the drivers making at least 70k weekly would not understand your rant here oga....uber fees have been before now...

How do we survive this surge filled rain season. Cos it will definitely affect ratings.. My rating dropped from 4.78 to 4.48 is 1 day.. Should we start avoiding surge areas or what.. Cos a rider that pays twice the amount will most likely rate u so low.. From the experienced guys, how do u cope with this

For Uber the rider is already informed of how much the trip would cost and also warned of high charges due to surge so if you are being rated low because of that...the rider is just being stupid...but make sure it is not something else besides probably the approach when you advise on the amount but like i always say i dunno about that of taxify if riders are informed ahead..And to the person saying to stay safe on the mainland due to rains OYO is your case...just pray to God to not have any flood issues it can happen anywhere and for those of us wey our brainbox must not see water kperen....hmmmm...Oluwa is involved..rain rain go away.... shocked

These Uber dem be wayo small..so i took a 2.6 boost from V.I to Oshodi which was showing as between 5 n 7k for the rider only to get to oshodi and my fare was just 4500 only to see that unlike surge where your surge bonus is untouched this boost would sum up the whole fare and remove their commision so after actual trip was like 2k and boost was 3.8k uber just chop 1.5k on top...still better than taxify sha

He tried to change his voice, and told me I'm picking someone from there to EPE... I just laughed.. Told him, no problem...i knew he was up to something.. He said I would wait and bring him back and asked for the type of car I was driving.. I told him to bring it on,only that I would have to take a picture of him first and send it to my elder brother who's a soldier.. He said were leleyi (this one Na mad man), o ti jaju (he's street wise) and ended the call... I'm sure it's this guys in the business of snatching cars, robbing drivers or worse, kill him.. How has this been helpful other than to create more fear and worry. No name or phone number of the Rider so it can be reported am also guessing the driver probably never reported to Uber as well. so telling us to be careful how exactly should we be careful.. undecided undecided

Pls what are the positive and negative effects of ratings....?

Beyond the risk of being removed or sent on "vacation" if your ratings are very low I can say for Uber dunno of taxify that once your confirmation rate goes into the 80% level you start receiving lesser trip requests same if your cancellation rate is high meanwhile in other news I had a trip of like 2k yesterday which rider did not pay and when I reported to Uber they credited me 5k abi na error?? shocked shocked

Good afternoon All. I took a ride from Marina CarPark to Gbagada bus stop awhile ago. The driver showed me a fee of #900, however, he stated that the fee was not properly calculated by the app, hence, he did a “review” on the app & changed the value to #1,500.00. I later got a fee of #1,840.00 charged to my card. I checked on google map & realised the distance is 15km & there was no traffic all through. I know the ride should not be less than about #1,400.00, however, I wondering why the app did not calculate the fee properly, & also why the driver could alter the fee. Some drivers could use this option to rip off some customers.

Is this Uber or Taxify I suspect the latter...anyway if it is uber you too can ask for a fare review from your app and Uber would decide however you also need to confirm your trip was not a surge trip which can very much make the fare go higher..

I don’t believe in d experienced driver thingy. It’s all about how long u can be on the road and luck. A driver posted 18hrs daily work and I come dey fear for him life. Nothing in dis world will make me drive 18hrs a day unless my daughter is on life support machine and I need money to keep her alive(GOD FORBID). I’ve been driving uber for more than 2yrs, started as a driver renting cars and today, I own a car all from d proceeds of driving uber and offline trips. I work on a target. I do 10k daily from Monday to Thursday and 15k daily from Friday to Sunday. Some days, it doesn’t take me more than 3hours to make my 10k and some days, luck will just shine and I’d meet those clients that prefer offline and need u for the whole day. 20 to 25k is sure on those days. God will do what he says he will do

Different strokes for different folks bro that is what I will say besides who knows how long you were doing when you started off but beyond that if you ensure you get your due rest then why not I don't support 18hrs but I usually do about 12 hrs on weekends if other personal engagements or car fixing don't hinder me and it is not like am targeting it that way I may start at 7 or 8 and end like 10pm or 11pm and on some weird days enter like past 12.
Now about this experience hullabaloo, am a darned good driver am naturally smart and I already knew like 70% of roads in lagos before I started so I assumed it would be smooth sailing but alas no I did not factor in that my car option would also be a major headache, ave seen Ladipo more times this year than ever but beyond that there are tricks of the trade which you can only learn on the job but the truth is most owners asking for experienced hands just want to have it smooth and it cannot be that way.no be so money easy to make..

So some riders did me dirty last night. Taxify request came in as i was dropping off a rider at Classique event centre. Pick up was Alausa bus stop; destination, Isaac John. I checked google map as always, saw full red on Mobolaji Bank Anthony and showed these nonsense ladies but they insisted on going through Opebi link so Opebi link we faced.
In about 8 minutes we got to Sheraton and they saw stand still traffic. Then i started hearing "shey we no go just come down cross go the other side to request another cab like this, this traffic tie wrapper oo"
My cool demeanor changed immediately. I'm pained it wasn't a card trip, i would have shown them we are in this together.

fare was 700 and the idiot still wanted to collect 100 change for the 800 she presented. The look i gave her fah undecided

Moral lesson: put your foot down on routes sometimes, they might even thank you for it eventually

lolz this swings in different ways and i will share 2 experiences.Yesterday on a trip from island to Yaba we were on kofo abayomi and we were close to airforce mess i knew there was traffic on ozumba and also odeku and rider says we should probably divert me i was like na the same traffic eventually i turned to odeku and it haf probably lighter traffic dan ozumba and wen we passed ozumba cos i took under the bridge the rider felt elated that we "avoided" the traffic dere and even gave me great route rating me i happily collect am...fast forward 2 ds morning reverse waka from mainland to V.I . i got to sura and knowing ahamdu bello might be dodgy i hinted to take sura or awolowo but rider insisted on muson na so we reach dere and buhari boys don block road moved on to CMS worse case eventually went back to marina and took idumota back onto sura which i always wanted to do and at some point rider was contemplating okada i was like hmmm okay oh but ride eventually ended on the island and i chopped like 2800 for a usual 1500 waka....
