Any business will get k-leg as long as you dont think outside the box. This is the big difference between rich dad and poor dad. People need to think outside the box. One of drivers does quite a few offline jobs. He has a good car and with good customer skills he is able to deliver.. As a matter of fact he even deliver a day earlier than the due date. Think outside the box and it will change your life. Again you are perfect example of a rich dad and poor dad.

In my opinion what I think is gradually happening is that as more drivers keep joining the platform everyday so also are there more riders however uber/ taxify was not set up for driver rentals I think it is here in Nigeria we somehow found a way to make it happen and from weekly rental of 50k it has been coming down gradually now it is hovering between 25 and 30k some still higher and I wonder how those drivers are coping but what it is IMO that will happen is that driver rentals would eventually finish and you have everyone being a partner themselves because when owner wan chop and driver self still wan chop wet in go remain and they would be fuel, servicing and other miscellanous...make we dey observe dey go....
In other news am Patiently waiting for the mad Uber surge that will happen after Experience is over tomorrow morning.minimum of 2.0 things or even more..na to just wait make the surge catch fire before I go online even if na to do like 2 trips from TBS to Lekki or surulere back to back and Saturday morning don set....

Thinking of taking up the Uber/Taxify driving challenge.
Reading about different stories about partners and drivers, I keep wondering why we can't have things done the right way in this part of the continent. Though I don't have the amount of cash that can purchase a car at the moment but will definitely source for who will give out his/her car to me on a weekly report basis.
Have been following this thread for months waiting for a day I will have my car to out on the platform, gathering info from professionals in the industry.
Will be willing to take up either Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra or Honda City for a weekly remittance of N30k, will work towards making advance payment.

I'll be taking responsibility of repair below N5,000 and also will contribute (20%) towards regular servicing of the car @ Gazzuzz workshop ONLY using Mobil Extended performance Oil with required Oil filter.

Car must have a comprehensive insurance

I won't be dealing with fleet management operators ( Partner ONLY)

I have a verifiable guarantor.

These are my kind terms and mechanical analysis must be carried out on the car to ascertain the condition of such car before taking it.

Oga all what you quoted above is like a Doctor in med school who has read all the theory and is formulating it..enter tarmac first and experience practical make you know wetin dey sele...

On Uber, rider and driver cancellations count against you, but on taxify it doesn't count as long as you wait 3 mins after sliding arrived

Rider cancellation does not count against the driver, I have several rider cancellations and it does not reflect on the partner page but once I cancel as the driver it registers immediately

No, it doesn't count. As long as You arrived at pickup location and waited for more than 5mins.

Are you sure about this, before now it used to count against the driver even after waiting 5mins without rider showing up..

I've log on to my uber account on d browser yet can't find any way to check my cancellation rate. Please help. Thanks

You may have to be like a partner to view the cancellations so if you are a driver you probably cannot.

WC counter attack? Counter attack with useless finished and acceptance rate. Taxify is loosing it seriously. Its a wrong time to reduce fare by 15%.

Anytime I see taxify drivers grumbling about reduced fares all I keep hearing in my head is welcome to our club.we are already used to those fares on Uber....

It is a direct Tokunbo. But I am new in Uber business. Hope to learn within the first month and start serious business from the second month.

How long is the HP period, hope you have a Plan B for the week you don't make 30k.Think it through well you don't want to lose out after 6 months/ 1 year.
.Also as a newbie trying out a rental for about 1-3months first would have been an advisable option so you have a feel of the market although as December approaches there will be a rush so don't assume February -November is the same way...All the Best

I've stopped using uber on sundays until they are able to regularize the long pick up issue else your cancellation rate will sky rocket

I eventually still went to the Amukoko when a 1.6 request came in long distance but still after dropping the rider same long distance to pickup issues.

This is where you're getting it wrong, if a driver let's a request slide it will automatically go to another driver. That's because the first/closest driver didn't respond but once a driver accepts , that's the end of the search, if the driver cancels afterwards that rider will have to make another request, app won't find another driver automatically

This is so not true.immediately a driver cancels even after accepting it automatically goes to the next driver except there is none in the vicinity.

I noticed something this evening.

I was on Isaac John when this request came in, rider was on Oba Akinjobi way... quite a distance for pickup but I went anyway. Rider was going to The Place. So when we got there and he saw his fare, he just flared, complaining that taxify should have paired him with the closest car but instead they pair him with a car far from him and making him pay extra...that trip shouldn't be more than ₦500.

It's beginning to look like U get compensated for the long distance travel to pickup location.

While still on Isaac John, a request came from Ajanaku in Opebi...I just asked rider to cancel that I'm far from her and she cancelled.

This already occurs on Uber..if your dispatch is farther than your rider's destination you get compensated..or you can request for a review

12 years a slave.....

Is a movie based about being a slave for 12 years and then becoming free.In slavery you have no alternate options either be a slave or be killed...with uber/Taxify at least you have other options other than driving on their platform...

No bro, I won't take it easy with him, I Don't know who the silly dude thinks he his, suggesting that I might be using an app or cheating my riders, I only work on uber weekends cos of my day job.

You know I was itching to respond to you last week when I challenged your numbers and ypu responded insulting me but I decided to not be petty and let it slide only for you to come guns blazing when they mentioned 30k earnings before noon not like they even mentioned your name oh but probably Gulity conscience got you.Now even Gazzuzz has also told you to do what I was asking for which was a screenshot of your earning as at 12noon which you can do except you are a learner or JJC and not N5100 earning or N4300 you provided to suddenly sum up 30k anyway I think I have an idea of what your challenge is so let me help you.you probably made 30k plus that whole day but you wanted to shine and mentioned 30k before noon and now you cannot match your mouth to facts being presented.

Anything good is never cheap. No driver will cheat if the fare was fair to both sides. On Uber, only the rider is happy. The real crook is Uber.

This is the most STUPID opinion anyone can have about Uber/Taxify..are you forced to sign up on their platform..people come and be complaining of fair fares ehn if you are unsatisfied go and do only offline trips and opening your car hire service na sebi some people come here to boast how they do only offline now no more on line so join them Oga and stop lamenting low fares.

Bro so far as you did not do ifyeez style of "if you know You know" then you can state your case to them by showing them trips done per day for the three days cos for me I started on sunday and did 13 trips and completed my 20 on that Monday and I got paid my 7k so you may need to clarify things for them to see.

The rider is new, Uber guarantees earnings and they don't want to guarantee a new rider incase it's fraudulent. So they end your trip at 2 hours to reduce potential liability

Very very much on point.Rider is new to Uber/

Meanwhile I have always heard of this issue but just experienced it for the first time yesterday.Got a request from Island to Alagbado yesterday night, when we got to meiran I got a text that Uber was ending the trip, I should find safe place to drop rider and before I knew it Uber ended the trip yet we were still some distance away and only when I got to rider destination did I notice trip had actually ended.Rider also complained that same had happened on the reverse trip earlier in the morning.this was only after about 2hrs 30mins but before now ave done longer trips no such issues.is this a new development.

Any cash trip I do Uber will take my earnings as their commission, please is their anyone else having this issue or I my alone?

This is Normal, there is nothing wrong here. UBER credits you your earnings I.e UberX and debits you for any cash collected so for any cash trip you do Uber will first of all credit you with the actual amount due to you and then debit the cash collected regardless of if cash collected is higher or lower than the UberX amount.
like from your statement now the last trip on Friday nite you did a trip of 1100 and after commission it was 835 so Uber credited you 835 and debitted you 1100 you collected.then your first trip on Saturday you did a trip of maybe 5k after commission came to 3500 but cash collected was 2k plus so uber credited you the 3500 due to you and debit the 2k cash collected.so the shortfall 1500 is added to your cashout balance.

Bros, why not allow the wind through ur app to blow you to where it wants to.Must you go back to the island? Why is it that most drivers don't like working on the mainland. A lot of drivers on the island reject trips that will bring them to the mainland and even when they find themselves on the mainland they are always in a hurry to dash back even if its to blow back empty. Why is it so, shd I say its fear of the unknown or what

This lymlyte guy dey always behave as if mainland n.a. taboo for am.most times you see him here he is stuck on the mainland looking for where to find trip to take him to island and the best response na the person wey direct am to Iyana Oworo to carry Ajah/V.I at 200/300 Lolz.. ..
