Lucifer/Satan do not exist until further notice, OP. Not to worry. ![]() |
Definitely THE best atm. |
The news is fake guys. . . |
Van Bommel was better than Ozil and Schweini jare. . . . . . .He held his ground against the wonderful passers of the ball in Spain. Schweini and Ozil looked like lost kids when they faced the same opposition. Ramos was the best right back in the tourney. . . .No question and Contreao of Portugal had to be the best left back. The only German player fit to be in the world XI is Mueller for his ruthlessness in front of goal. The other Nazis were 2nd best to their counterparts in the mundial.
There. You just lost all credibility with that one word. Right there. |
iyibio:Casillas Puyol Juan Maicon Lahm Schweinsteiger Sneijder Oezil Mueller Forlan Villa |
Here's mine. Not that anyone cares. . Match of the tournament: Germany Vs Argentina - Haters will rather talk about a poor Argentine defence rather than a masterful performance from Germany. Honourable mentions: Uruguay Vs Germany; Germany Vs England. Player of the tournament: Forlan - "So graceful on the ball, constantly productive with minimal effort. One of very few players that perfected the art of striking a Jabulani." (quoted mbulela) Honourable mentions: Villa and Oezil. Goal of the tournament: Villa's 1st goal Vs Honduras. Honourable mentions: Forlan's freekick Vs Ghana; Hernandez's consolation wonder goal Vs Argentina. Biggest disappointments: - Nigeria (my home country) - France (my country of adoption) - England (my mother's country of birth) Personal highlight: Forlan's last minute freekick Vs Germany that struck the bar. I went batsh|t. XD Honourable mentions: The youthful and colourful German team; Paul the Oracle Octopus. Lesson for 2014: Ball line video technology: MUCH NEEDED!! Vuvuzelas: Noisy and annoying when blown all match long in a monotonous way but got better with glimpses of rythm as the tournament progressed. Overall: SA 2010 was a great experience for me as a neutral fan and viewer. Vivement 2014!! |
Manchester United - 2003. |
Bump #2. My thread needs some luv. |
mendax:Aaaaaaand, how is that relevant to this thread? ![]() But hey, I will be polite and will answer your question: 5 including SA 2010. Though I was still quite young during the first one I watched in '94. |
ogoamaka99:lol, I kindly ask the same to all the religious people on this forum. ![]() Wow. Wonder never ends. You "believers" nod your heads to a few lines found in an ancient book that says the 1st 2 humans that ever existed were made of sand and dust. Really? ![]() |
My 5-best ('coup de coeur'): 1. Forlan (Uruguay) 2. Villa (Spain) 3. Oezil (Germany) 4. Enyeama (Nigeria) 5. Honda (Japan) Honurable mentions: Xavi, Iniesta, Schweinsteiger and Mueller. My 5-worst (understand 'disappointments'): 1. Rooney 2. Odemwingie 3. Evra 4. Gerrard 5. Messi (not because of how he played but because his influence on the game wasn't as much as we all would have hoped it would be) PS: Yakubu and Kaita are in another category of all-time worst because I already had low expectations for them but they truly outdid themselves in SA. |
This was BY SO FAR the best FIFA World Cup I have seen in terms of organization and atmosphere. Toutes mes felicitations a l'Afrique du Sud pour cette merveilleuse ambiance. ![]() Kudos, really. |
I am agnostic, not an aethist. That means that I am sceptical about the existence of a superior force/entity without being given tangible facts that are in the reach of human understanding. I cannot say uncategorically that "God" does not exist as faith is something I deeply respect and see as essential because it enable us to have purpose in life and it gives us a certain idea on why we are all here, on this planet. However, one thing I do know is that religion - which seems to be confused with belief/faith - is the biggest hoax in the history of humanity. A mass illusion cast to trick the weak(-minded). Religion, dogma, those are all institutions. In other words, they are man-made; hence subjected to all the flaws that are inherent to human nature (notably manipulation, lies, lust for power and domination, etc). So in a sort of response to the thread, I will say that neither Mr A nor Mr B can come out as winners in their dialectics. But Mr B should at least be given credit for trying to explain his arguments with facts within the grasp of other people that makes it possible to repudiate. But with Mr A's approach, the co-debatee is already in the wrong because divine scripts CANNOT be refuted. Why, you ask? Well, that's just how it is. Believe it. . . or BELIEVE IT! Your choice. |
lol. . . Clash of the ![]() If I were a haute couture designer, then I'd pick Kaka. If I were a coach. . . none of the two. Villa please. |
^ I see someone hasn't quite forgotten my incongruous hit or miss expression. ![]() |
David Villa. |
vedaxcool: jcross19:Am I the only one who laughed his @ss out at these two comments seen above? For a moment I thought the posters were comparing their pokemon, each boasting some special attribute. "My Sh|t just got real. |
lol That's all this article warrants. |
Sad. |
I have only watched 4 world cups so far. I was too young to remember how well the 1994 WC faired. In terms of atmosphere: 1. SA 2010 (Vuvuzelas included) ![]() 2. Japan/South Korea 2002 3. France 1998 4. Germany 2006 In terms of quality of the football matches: 1. France 1998 2. Japan/Asia 2002 (although the officiating was piss poor) 3. Germany 2006 4. SA 2010 |
I was born on the 32nd of July. |

With only 4 matches before the FIFA World Cup in SA comes to an end, I believe that we can already have a very good idea of the what players will feature in the team of the tournament. Here's my guess: Stekelenburg Lugano Juan Maicon Lahm Schweinsteiger Sneijder Oezil Mueller Forlan Villa - Stekelenburg: He has made very important saves, has conceeded only 2 and is yet to have made any spills (unlike Neuer); - Maicon: Undoutably Brazil's best player in this WC. Very sharp and powerful going upfront and also very solid at the back; - Lugano: The Uruguayan skipper. He symbolizes the main asset of his team: its defense; - Juan: Very precious to the Brazilian back four. Always available to cover up for the ever attack-minded Lucio. Also a master in the art of anticipation; - Lahm: The tireless and versatile full-back has had a formidable outing so far and is the soul the young German side; - Schweinsteiger: If Lahm is the soul of the Nationalmannshaft "Schweini" is its motor. The 25 year old has brought a blend of freshness and experience in the midfield; - Sneijder: He plays a more attacking role with the Oranje but is able to hold the ball quite comfortably with his technical prouess. On top of that he can score goals, from any sort of range! - Oezil: Germany's maestro. He moves around the pitch looking like he is always dragging his feet. But that is a terrible misinterpretation of his game. He has a fantastic vision and a wonderful touch that has produced many goal-assists for his partners; - Mueller: THE revelation of the tournament. Barely 20 years old, this young man who was dubbed "ball boy" by legend Maradona has proved to the entire world that he can do more than retreive lost balls for others. He has 3 assists and 4 goals to his name. He has been capped only 7 times for his country. Yeah, just that. . . - Forlan: For me he is simply the best thing that has happened to the WC this year. Skill, shots, passes he has 'em all. - Villa: Spain has scored 6 goals so far. Villa scored 5 and made an assist. 'Nuff said. So, what's your guess? |
Germany. "In the end, Germany always wins" (Gary Lineker). ![]() 2. Netherlands 3. Spain 4. Uruguay Top scorer: 1. Villa - 6 goals 2. Klose - 5 Best player: 1. Sneijder 2. Villa 3. Schweinsteiger Best Goalkeeper: 1. Stekelenburg 2. Neuer 3. Kingson Best Young Player: 1. Müller 2. Özil Watch this space. |
The Argies were steamrolled by the German Machines. ![]() |
Between the Yak and Martins? The Jabulani. It seems neither of those two so-called strikers can control it. |
All of you - bar manmustwac - should be ashamed of yourselves. This is becoming pathetic. It isn't even a matter of African solidarity. Hate is what you're all about. Hate and envy. Mods, please do away with this hateful thread. Thx. |
^ What a cûnt. Go away. You are polluting this space. |
The one movie that made me cry my eyes out the whole duration of it was the Oscar-winning movie Crash. Masterpiece there. Other movies that aren't made to be sorrowful but have caught my emotions in key scenes are Cars and Ice Age. ![]() Don't laugh! |
If this is true, I heard that FIFA will sanction Nigeria for political interference. |
Fhemmmy:1. Only Cameroon failed to get a point out of the 6 African contenders. 2. Europe had 13 spots; only 6 went through to the 2nd round. Should Europe be allowed 13 teams in 2014? When we know that their success ratio this year was less than one out of two. . . Sure, Africa's ratio is lower but here the number of teams representing the continent should be seen as more relevant than the ratio. Africa only has 1 chance out of 4 to see one of its contenders to go through to the next round. Europe has a 50% chance. Those things should be taken into account. |
