I don't understand this Jarus at times

please what qualities does Sanusi have to make him a mentor ?

You have far better qualities than him, he was just born into an aristocratic family.

every other thing about Sanusi is not worth calling him a mentor unless you want to be a bigot and thief like him
Sanusi is neither a bigot nor a thief. I can say that anywhere.

Yes, he's my mentor, far before he became CBN boss, I've been his admirer. Wish I could retrieve a a NL thread of 2008 where role models were being discussed and I listed Sanusi (FBN CEO ) and Fola Adeola as mine. That was before he became CBN governor.

I know SLS on personal basis and he's neither a thief nor a bigot, except of course like everyone is proud of his ethnic origin, he's proud of being a Fulani man. We have discussed this extensively on NL around 2009/2010 and not sure I have the time and energy to go into back and forth again.

What do I like in him? I have listed that many times on NL.

1, Like me, he combined corporate job with writing and intervening in national discourses.

2, He's largely fearless and courageous.

3, He read wide.

Finally had the opportunity to pay homage to my mentor, Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi 11 this evening somewhere in Lagos (is it "outage" when not in palace? LOL).

I seized the avenue to also present to him complimentary copies of my book, Road to VI.

I am a graduate of Ife, but I heard much about Eskor Toyo. As an economics graduate, I would not be up to date if the name Eskor Toyo sounded strange to to me.

Eskor Toyo was easily was easily one of the finest economists Nigeria has produced, in the league of Ojetunji Aboyade, Bade Onimode, and arguably Sam Aluko. These were the finests economists Nigeria produced in the 70s to 80s when our university system was a bastion of excellence.

Oga Jarus. Congratulations on your new homes (Kwara and Lagos). It's very inspiring, most especially coming from a young man in this our generation of spendthrift-ness. Although, I'm not predispose to building a house from scratch; just want to buy ready-made. I must say you are an inspiration.

Best of wishes from your SAJ.
Thanks bro. Your kind words are appreciated.

Ready-made houses are obviously better, but more expensive (builder will add mark up). When I become a big man, I can begin to buy houses. For now, make I continue to add up 200k, 300k, 2m over time to build.

Sir Jarus! I greet you. Pls I would like to become a chartered tax man. Planning to register with CITA, hopefully pass their exams and become chartered. I need info as regards this. What are the requirements? I learnt you ll register with 10k..after this 10k, what are the other things one would surely pay for in the process? As a graduate of accounting, would there be exemptions for me? What are the benefits of becoming a chartered tax man you feel I don't know? Like how many months/years will the whole thing take if one passes their exam @ every first try? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks
I don't know anything about registration fees, but I guess 40k max for each diet.

If you pass at first attempts, you can finish it in one and half years.

As an accounting grad, you will get exemption for one or 2 subjects.

I got a call some hrs ago from an unknown number, I picked the call and said " yea, wus dis". The caller then said " you don't even know who is calling and you answered the phone like that" I was like who the heck is this, until I hear "my name is ......from ...... Company. I'm calling as regardz your CV you sent to our email". Hearing that, I had to quickly in a loud voice say " Good afternoon sir". The man was nice enough to continue the conversation and at the long run, he said " We ll call you later to tell you when to come for the interview.

I was lucky he listned to me for 6mins but will I be lucky to be employed.

Please, all job seekers should learn to answer their phone calls properly as you do not know which call is the one to achieving your dream.

I will sure keep you guys updated if I'm called or not.
1, Generally, it is rude to start a phone convo with "who is this?". You say hello and expect the person to introduce him/herself. If he doesn't politely tell him/her that you're not sure you can recognise the voice ("I'm sorry, trying to recognise this voice?"wink

2, Beware of scam sha.
SportsRe: Fifa Admits Bronze Boot Error, Chukwueze Not Nwakali Winner by Jarus(m): 6:39pm On Dec 01, 2015
Proffdada:
The world football governing body has express regret in naming Nwakali as bronze boot winner instead of ChukwuezeThe Federation of International Football Association (Fifa) has admitted they made a mistake giving Kelechi Nwakali the 2015 U17 World Cup bronze boot instead of Samuel Chukwueze.
Chukwueze (535 minutes) and Nwakali (630 minutes) were tied on three goals and three assists but the later was awarded as third highest goal scorer prize despite having more playing time than his teammate.

“We made a mistake at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 with the distribution of the adidas Bronze Boot,” Fifa wrote to the NFF.

“Instead of player no. 8 of Nigeria, Samuel Chukwueze, the player Kelechi Nwakali (player no. 10 of Nigeria) received the adidas Bronze Boot. However, if two or more players are still equal (after goals and assists), the player who has played fewer number of minutes will be ranked first.

“With this in mind, adidas will send you another Bronze Boot in December 2015, which we would kindly ask you to hand over to Samuel Chukwueze. Please be informed that Kelechi Nwakali may keep his trophy.”

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen won the golden boot award with 10 goals while Germany’s Johannes Eggestein walked away with the silver boot having scored four goals.

Pending the time my oga @jarus weigh in.... Lemme share my take *I have encountered that question before*...
everything comes down to wat u have in ur cv...
Particularly wat you have as work experience... dy will ask you what you did there, trust HR dy are gonna be looking for holes... They will definitely find, buh the lesser the better...

Some ppl will say am a fresh graduate... Dis guys believe u must have done internship or at least nysc and if you where active you must have been involved in a project..

Speaking of project, you can talk about your BSc thesis... Research articles... Group assignment you did in school... Etc...

If you search yourself you will always have something to say for that question... The koko is to be confident fluent and also "ur brain processing at 1Gbps"

When d question come it's important not to panick.... La panick = La blank, la stammer, la goof, la regret mail

Also hope for inspiration from above... this is courtesy God's grace
*awaiting jarus's orientation *
You have said it all.

1, My friend used his PhD project
2, Another friend used his Bsc project experience
3, Another friend used his experience as President of SIFE, a students group in his undergrad days
4, Another used his experience as Chairman of Fund Raising committee of his religious association on campus and during NYSC.

All of them were successful.

That's why I always advise students to engage in extra curricular activities
