Another twisting of fact to whip religious sentiments. The resignation request for Tunde Bakare was not news. Anyone who followed political news in 2011 (not these political neophytes calling themselves TANOIDS today) should have read about this. In fact Buhari himself did not consent to this bargaining request of ACN. The mischief makers left this part out. It was reported in 2011. It was well reported then. It was the negotiation ACN offered to CPC when they sought for alliance few days to the 2011 elections. Buhari and Bakare were CPC. It is only natural that ACN can only support if they have a stake. This is normal political negotiation. I cannot be bringing 50% share to your company and not be on board! Simple. From the current arrangement, APC is made up of ACN, CPC, APGA and the New PDP. CPC has the presidential candidate (Buhari), ACN has VP (Osinbajo). So there is no need for Osinbajo to sign anything. ACN is already represented on the ticket. Too bad some people are trying to spin this 2011 event to whip up religious sentiments again. |

I bought a plot of land for 2.5m (exclusive of agreement and other fees) somewhere in Ajah axis in Lagos, and shared into two halves with my brother. The dimension of the one plot land is 120 by 60, shared into two halves of 120 by 30. The goal is to do a 3 bedroom flat and a self-contain BQ at the back on my own half plot. |
I earlier opened a thread for this but couldn't find it again. I searched to no avail. I narrated my Kwara countryhome construction journal here (https://www.nairaland.com/784501/jarus-countryhome-journal) Sometime last year, after bringing the Kwara project to good shape, I decided to have a go at sacking my landlord in Lagos too. This thread is to share experience on this second house. |
jimmy4x:Congrats. For the main building (which I did in 2012), woodwork plus workmanship was 350k, and aluminium plus workmanship 620k, making the total cost of roofing to be 970k For the BQ plus gatehouse plus shop which I did few weeks ago, woodwork plus workmanship was 230k, and aluminium plus workmanship 470k, making the total cost of roofing to be 700k. |

I'm leaving Nigeria with my family on 12th until much after election. We booked our flights a month ago. |
The points make sense. |
FriedPlantain:I have seen the light. |
Up PDP. No APC governor invited. GEJ till 2089. |
watered:I think Muazu is going for Senate. He still has PDP ticket which he will lose if he defects, at least before election. |
propaganda |
Let me guess: Yuguda - Bauchi Lamido - Jigawa ? ? ? |
That's their deceit. They go to the South and say APC is a Muslim, that christians should not vote for them. They go to the North and say APC is a Christian party and Muslims should not vote for them. How low can a people go? |
I also read it in Thisday. The guy's comment is the best response anyone could have made to that morbid documentary. Good job by the APC media strategists for finding it and giving it this exposure. |
berem:Serious? I didn't know o. Send me a FB PM. |
rotecch77:Bros, na Langbasa you too dey do? |
Happy Birthday to the amazon of Nairaland politics section. |
I must confess PDP that had been crushed few weeks ago are on a rebound. One of the reasons they're asking for election postponement is to buy more time to fully recover. The last one week has reduced the Buhari momentum. Let the election hold joor. |
Jibola10:I'm still available to be rented o. Make I send my account number? |
beopened:I have seen the light. GEJ till Buhari pull over |

A huge loss to the Lagos social community. A big blow to tennis in Nigeria (He sponsored the popular Asoju Oba tennis cup for many years). I grew up reading about him and seeing his face in the newspapers. It was therefore only natural to grab the opportunity to meet him when our paths crossed in a small clinic in VI in January 2012. I was feeling unwell and had gone to that clinic close to my then office when I saw a familiar man walk into the clinic. "This face is familiar. Is this not Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas?" I soliloquized. It's like seeing Dangote on the street despite never seen him live before, even if he wears turban, I would recognize him, although the thought that a Dangote could not have been that casual can send one's brain into confusion. I knew that one of the nearby streets was named after him and his residence was not far from that place, but I didn't imagine a whole Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas would trek, without aide, without security, to a clinic - a small one - himself. He trekked to the clinic!!! The nurses were doing my own vitals when he came in and he joked with me: "See this young man, you're doing BP check. What have you done? It is elders like us that need it." I laughed. The nurses, who knew him probably as a regular caller in that clinic, also laughed and quickly attended to him. I couldn't have missed the opportunity to take a shot with him that morning. This is the picture. That was 2012 - three years ago. May God grant the Okoya family the fortitude to bear this loss

Even when Buhari's CPC was not controlling a single state in the North, he beat PDP in 2011 presidential poll. Not even an Obasanjo was able to beat Buhari in the North. He was also roundly beaten by Buhari in 2003. Any politician that will beat Buhari in the North has not been born. Olisa can keep dreaming. |
nanizle:At least you admit that Buhari will win any online poll. Not like some people that will say Buhari fans opened multiple twitter accounts to favorite the post, like they accuse on NL here. |
