And then again, that area of the Forbes site is free-for-all.
Anybody can open a blog account there and write anything.

Even me undecided
Nsehe is not a freelancer. He was Forbes Africa staff. His articles have been used by Forbes Africa as cover story for its paper edition November 2011.

Anything from Mfonosong is Forbes official. He is a staff of Forbes Africa and Forbes definitely won't publish something they don't endorse. He did his NYSC with my former company before joining Forbes Africa.

But that article cannot be less than 3 months old because Mfo has left Forbes for Bloomsberg, except the article was prepared before he left.
Car Talk › Re: Have You Ever Slept Off While Driving? by Jarus(m): 7:03am On Feb 23, 2013
No, but dozed off a couple of times in traffic.

There was a day the lady beside me slept off in traffic at Chevron on Lekki-Ajah road. The car in front of her had moved and she didn't know. We all blast horn before she woke up and continued. That was when that road used to be crazy.

Politics › Re: Obasanjo And Tinubu: Who Is A Better Leader? by Jarus(m): 3:43pm On Feb 22, 2013
Tough one.

I don't trust both with public funds.

Both not too bad in terms of performance, by Nigerian standards (at least they did something - Tinubu started Lagos transformation, Obj, hate him or like him, posted up to average performance).

Both have a way of identifying talents (although Tinubu has an edge, most of Obj boys were sourced from Atiku)

Tinubu's style of politics more manageable, less vindictive, compared to unforgiving Obj

It's 50-50 for me, got to toss a coin.

Career › Re: Did You Eventually Fulfill Your Future Ambition? by Jarus(m): 12:00pm On Feb 22, 2013
In primary school, my ambition was to become a businessman and philantropist (Abiola model).

In secondary school, it shifted to becoming a banker and ultimately CBN governor. That was why I chose economics in my JAMB form

In year 1 in university, I dropped the 'banker ambition' and wanted to be an oil and gas person. To God be the glory I've had all my career in the O&G sector (save the brief stint in investment banking).

But I never knew I would be an Accountant. I hated accounting.

This is not smart enough. Disappointing.

You think everyone follows only NTA-broadcast matches (like AFCON) like you?

Some of us have known VM at least 4 years ago. If you just knew VM during AFCON then you should not be discussing football.

Pelummy is my travel agent. Never met her physically.
Business › Re: Good Business Transaction Done On Nairaland With A Nairalander by Jarus(m):
1, I sold my second car via Nairaland.

2, I met the travel agent I use, who I have never met physically, via Nairaland. I send close to 200k to her account for flight booking/visa processing etc and she delivered. That is confidence and trust. Pelummy

3, This is not business but politics. Nairalanders donated close to N1m to my account during the Buhari/Bakare campaign in 2011, which we used to fund the campaign as our little contribution. These are people that never met me physically. One Nairalnder, at the peak of the campaign, came to my office and handed N0.5m cash to me as contribution to the campaign. That is trust.

4, This is not business too. I am the Accountant of TEHN (Nairaland charity group) and up to N0.6m was raised for the 4 projects we had executed so far. Less than 5% of them knew me physically but paid money into my account. That is trust.

5, I met the guy that designed my wife's business website (www.masjewelriesandclothes.com) via Nairaland webmasters section. I have not seen him physically till today and he did a good job for me and I paid into his account.

I believe there are still trustworthy people on Nairaland.

pmc01: It has come to notice that some so-called 'moderate' Muslims have been condemning a fellow Muslim for writing against celebrating late Goldie Harvey, who has been surrounded with controversy in life and in death, as a national icon. I must say it is very unfortunate for this set of people. This is what I think about them:
'Follow-follow no make me get common sense' na im dey worry many of them. Looking critically at their problem, you'll discover it's inferiority complex that has weakened their morale. They are under self-inflicted pressure to always put up that '21st century' Muslim show. May Allah save us from such disastrous calamity. Amiin.
My advice for them is discover their identity before they get irredeemably lost. If you can't stand firmly for Islam, you will eventually end up miserable. It isn't a curse, it's a known fact; you will just find yourself alone, cold in the wilderness eventually.
The time to embrace your natural identity is now!!!
Goldie is not a model of what I want my sister to be.

What century Muslim am I?
