Travel › Re: Attempted Robbery On Arik Air Flight: Suspect & Victim Arrested by Jarus(m): 10:18pm On Aug 10, 2012
omega25red: i guess this is good news for the airline. My question is who puts that sum of money in a place where someone can easily get access? and was the owner of the money asleep when all this ransacking was going on?
It is possible. And you don't need to be asleep. Bags are usually placed on that cabin platform above above your heads. All the thief needs do is stand as if he's checking something in his own bag, while doing so to co-passenger's bags and passing the thing to his own bag up there. It may not even take up to 2 minutes.
Family › Re: Does Your Spouse Know Your Username On Nairaland Forum? by Jarus(m): 6:04pm On Aug 10, 2012
Yes. Everybody in my household knows my Nairaland ID. I first used that moniker on Nairaland and now it's like a real name. Even people that follow my FB postings know me as Jarus. It's too popular among my friends to be hidden, not least to my wife. There are people that address me as Jarus in real life. Even when I registered one briefcase company early this year Jarus was part of the name. cheesy

My wife is actually not bothered about what I write on Nairaland. Anytimes she's viewing NL as a guest she checks just Health and Family, where I am not active. She only comes across my post once in a while thru front page topics and she tells me.
Car Talk › Re: What To Do When Your Brakes Fail? by Jarus(m): 8:45pm On Aug 09, 2012
Wallie: It is corrosion on the surface of your disc brakes or drums that clears up after you apply the brakes a few times. It is caused by water and/or moist air. Perfectly normal.
That has been thought too. I just became scared now reading that the guy's brake made some noise while braking before eventually failing.

cmon: A friend of mine was faced with this situation this morning while actually going to the mechanic to fix a noise he experienced when braking. Suddenly, the brakes failed. Lucky enough he was not on high speed and the uncoming traffic was free. He was able to swave into the opposite lane and applied the hand brake to put the car to a halt.

Car Experts, Is there any alternative for this situation?

Please specify for Manual and automatic vehicles.
This worries me. Recently my car has been making some noise anytime I match brake while driving it out of my compound early in the morning after being parked overnight. It then stops after few meters of driving. My thought has been that this is caused by the waterlogged road in my area. Any contrary view?

May God almighty make him return alive.
Car Talk › Re: Refitting Deployed Airbags! Who Knows How? by Jarus(m): 8:24am On Aug 08, 2012
Siena: I think you're getting things the wrong way round, Emperoh. Deployed airbags CAN'T be refitted. I believe you mean replace the deployed units with ones that haven't deployed?

You'll need the steering wheel crash pad (the middle part) and a new dash / fascia. You'll also need both crash sensors. These are located either side of the chassis frames at the front, behind and below the headlamps. The ECM (located on the transmission tunnel, behind the centre console) may need to be replaced, unless the crash data stored can be erased.

Depending on the version, some coding may be required.
This is too technical for me

I google myself everyday. I also have a Google Alert for my name, which gives me alert anytime a new content with my name has found its way to the net. Main purpose is to check whether my article has been published somewhere. Sometimes to search for an article I wrote in the past.

ferhyntorlah: You mean Chief Tunde Fagbenle whose articles are published on the back page of Sunday Punch? I guessed as much because from his previous articles that I have read, he has interests in supporting young ones who are into sports.

Remember the Rolake girl from Ibadan who plays tennis? He did his best to garner support for her so that she could be groomed into becoming a tennis star for Nigeria in the future. So I'm not surprised his daughter is into sports.
He is a tennis star in his own right.

Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by Jarus(m): 1:17pm On Aug 06, 2012
The SW will be a bastion of envy just like Dubai once they start planting cocoa. Cocoa is better than oil money. They built 3rd mainland bridge, Abuja and all the crooked billionaire politicians on cocoa money before that evil oil was discovered. The north just wants to farm groundnuts thats what boko is preaching, they want nothing to do with oil money. They even got rid of another oil rich enclave in Bakassi cos they did not want the corrupting vice of oil affecting Nigeria.
Bakare hates evil oil money and the "animals" that live on the oil land.
End oil dependency. Declare Odua Republic Now.
Tinubu will be the first life President!
.
Thank God this is sarcasm.
