1)The difference is the way the respect is delivered so it ain't a Nigerian thing bro
2)Education is key everywhere. There is a wide disparity gap in pay for skilled and unskilled employment so young people are encouraged to embrace education so as to secure their future
3)Holding the door for people is not an abroad thing. It has something to do with your values as a person.
4)Again doing more chores is simply because labour is expensive. Absolutely nothing to do with culture except you are referring to it with respect to relationships.
5)This is a tribe thing and it’s prevalent within the Yoruba community

No! I can't cheat on Chima! I was talking to some friends and some of us have home based Naija men and Abroad based Naija men....with different experiences. I have dated both and noticed differences because to me Naija men are Naija men regardless of their home location but I was mistaken.

I was told by a Nigerian American that there are differences in thinking and attitudes. The culture is slightly different as well. I was curious to see opinions and see if others think there are any differences.

This is more like 10% of the total funds allocated by the federal Government. In effect, majority of the states are setting aside 10% of the money for security vote or whatever you wanna call it so they can easily loot it as they can't be requested to account for it.

According to this article, it does seem the security vote is an unallocated budget appropriated by each state government derived from their monthly allocation from the federal government. In essence, their really isn't a separate allocation for security vote from the federal gorvement

It is pertinent to state that security votes are not included in the appropriation, whether at the federal or state level. By standard practice, the funds are unaudited and unaccounted for. The exact amount budgeted as security votes each year by state governments are unknown and how they are spent is nobody’s business. At the federal level, funds are annually allocated to the Ministry of Defence and the Nigeria Police for the upkeep and welfare of the armed forces and the police, yet billions are still voted for the President as security votes which nobody knows about.

Curiously too, nobody knows how security vote got into the country’s political lexicon. Section 14(b) of the 1999 Constitution states that: “It is hereby accordingly declared that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.” No where did the section or any other part of the statue book state that there shall be a pool of fund called “security vote.”

Where exactly is the money coming from if it isn't directly linked to expenditures as published in the yearly national budget?

How are they deriving the sharing formula (what states gets what) in order to be fair to all 36 states of the federation

Are we borrowing to fund the largese and it keeps getting undocumented?

I will be happy if anyone can hopefully share some light as it doesn't seem to make much sense to me

It honestly seems we are spending what we haven't earned as a nation and it's alarming that it's actually in trillions on a yearly basis
