Honestly I wouldn't know why Xiaomi would make such a weird computation. It is the same in my own too and sometimes it is even higher than screen consumption. In my years of using android phones from HTC to Samsung and the rest, I have never seen where android system (software) consumes more power than screen which is an hardware component. Normally, android system doesn't consume more than 10% of total Battery power.

As an engineer it looks weird to me. Maybe it is MIUI 12. It came with alot of weird stuffs. One of such things is forcing the phone to read only 24hrs power usage stats after which it starts jumping randomly and erratically. So if I want to know how many hours I can get from my Battery after a full charge, I have to do it manually. And to get the accurate SOT, I have to exhaust my Battery under 24hrs. It just doesn't make sense from Xiaomi.

You see the issue of part scarcity was one of the reasons I was skeptical about getting a Xiaomi device. As bad as infinix and Tecno are, people still prefer them because their parts are readily available and they have offices all over Nigeria. Before I could get ordinary cover for my phone, I had to order online.

Samsung parts are also readily available and they make sturdy and reliable phones so you won't even need to bother about repairs unless you are the careless type.

She should go for Samsung flagships. She used the A12 for just 2days and was complaining it didn't meet her expectations maybe Interms of battery because I don't see any difference between the A12 and 9T apart from the bigger battery and better processor.

But I don't think ladies are much concerned about performance. What they usually look out for is camera quality and the A12 and 9T both have 48mp cameras.

@ yewandequeen to avoid further disappointments get a better Samsung or upgrade to iPhone if you can afford it and leave this chinko products alone.

I've been using the phone since February and I no complain whatsoever. So I don't know what you mean by riddled with bugs.

1. Have you rebooted it before?
2. Has the Battery ever gone flat and you were able to wake it up with a charge?

The issue most people are having with the device is that it doesn't usually come up after it shuts down.

If you go through the thread, you will see another person complaining about the audio. But that doesn't seem to be a common problem.

It has to be 9T. Because it has the biggest Battery on the Redmi series for now. But the phone is riddled with bugs. Lots of users are currently lamenting about it.

That is another bug from Xiaomi that you will have to live with. Mine is over 16GB and still increasing. I have tried every possible means to reduce it but the lowest I got was around 9GB. Some of the junk files can be deleted from the miui folder while the location of the rest is completely elusive.

Lol, don't mind them. I am currently regretting the one I bought recently due to their sweet talks. The Battery performance is terrible and the software is riddled with tons of bugs.

I brought one of the issues I have here and they are already acting defensive. Infact one of them was even insinuating that I was lying. They cannot handle criticism but can criticize and badmouth other brands.

They run this thread like a cult. To them, Xiaomi is perfect and can never go wrong. I will advice you to take cover because they are coming for your head. They will soon descend heavily on you because you have insulted their god.

What I notice is if my phone gets to 100% its gonna take constant pressing of about 30mins for it to drop to 99%

I guess your phone is still new. Or maybe you don't remove it immediately it hits 100%.

I'm sure people know that redmi battery lasts longer if you leave your battery plugged after fully charged for a while, like 30-45 minutes.
I'm guessing, when we see the phone charge up to 100%, at first, it's not actually 100.
Seems it's a safe guard for the battery long term life.

You will eventually damage your battery if you continue like that.

I have noticed it too whenever I forget to remove it immediately it hits 100. But I don't need the "extra juice" at the expense of my Battery health.
