However, you do not need to abuse people just because you are approved. Those people you are attacking only gave information on what they heard. When Canada started giving out visas to spouses. It was through the informwtion sharing like this that people like you got to know. For that fact that Canada is now being strict with visa does not mean some lucky applications will not be approved. The truth there is that it wont be "yafun yafun" like before. For your information, the restrictions on the issuance of work permit is not a rumour, it is real. Please read the below:

Today, the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, convened representatives from Canada’s largest business associations with one clear message: the TFW Program cannot be used to circumvent hiring talented workers in Canada, and the federal government will take further action to weed out misuse and fraud within the system.

During today’s meeting, Minister Boissonnault outlined the following actions that are being implemented to reduce the use of temporary foreign workers in Canada:

• Enforcing consistent application of the 20 per cent cap policy for temporary foreign workers. This includes the policy for the “dual intent sub-stream”, which applies to temporary foreign workers who intend to apply for permanent residency. Employers using this stream will be subject to more stringent guidelines;

• Applying a stricter and more rigorous oversight in high-risk areas when processing Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) and when conducting inspections;  

• Considering LMIA fee increases to pay for additional integrity and processing activities; and,

• Looking to implement future regulatory changes regarding employer eligibility (factors such as a minimum number of years of business operations or history of lay-offs by the employer).


Minister Boissonnault also informed business associations that he is considering implementing refusal to process under the low wage stream. If implemented, this would prevent employers in certain areas and industries from using the TFW Program. Additionally, the Government is working on modernizing the TFW Program with a new foreign labour stream for Agriculture and Fish & Seafood Processing, as announced in Budget 2022.

It is common knowledge that ur passport can't be renewed with more than 6mnth validity, except for d following reasons that someone on d platform has stated for u.
Ur only shot nw, so u will get ur visa n passport bck is write to them letting them knw d same reason u gave to immigration that qualified u for renewal.
Plz what ever u do don't give d reason for ur renewal is to enjoy 10yrs validity of visa except is d official reason immigration have registered on their system for ur renewal.
Ur case is 50/50

You are right about biometric validity, but not in all cases. Even if your biometric validity is 4 years, you might not always get a 4-year visa stamp, as some people receive less based on the visa officer's discretion.

Canada visitor visas are often issued based on the validity of the passport, but the visa officer can make exceptions. Therefore, it's not a strict rule. Focus more on getting the visa approved rather than worrying about passport or visa validity if the visa has not been approved yet!

I learnt it from a reliable source that Canada is strictly limiting tje issuance of work permits. Another issue there is that the number of international students in Canada is more than the immigration target numbers, and Canadians don't want to hear any increase in immigration targets. So many students may not get PR. PGWP will no more be automatic. It will be based on the discretion of the IRCC. So, granting of SOWP will defeat their restriction plan

My brother Visitor Visa was approved today. He applied on the 22nd of March, 2024. He has done biometric in his previous applications. No travel history, he had been refused UK student visa 2wice, Canada student visa once and US visit visa once.

My question is, which is faster and better, to send his passport by courier or go to their office in person. Reason is that I want him to attend my birthday coming up in few weeks

To apply for the PR caregiver program, you don’t have to be a nurse or have an education in healthcare. The minimum education requirement is secondary school. Note that a job offer from an employer in Canada is required to apply.
I disagree with you that PSW does not warrant travelling abroad for studies. We have had success with PSW applicants. You can argue that a PSW from the school will enrich you with adequate and informed knowledge, which will be revered in Nigeria and help you attain an enviable position. However, applying for PSW with nursing credentials will make the officer scrutinize her purpose of visit, as PSW appears redundant concerning her nursing credentials. Someone working in a healthcare facility without a related education would be an ideal candidate for PSW.
You cannot accompany your wife as a worker if she goes for PSW.

I was issued a 5 year TRV in 2019. Unfortunately, due to COVID pandemic and travel restrictions to Canada, I was unable to use the Visa in 2020 through early 2022 and it expired in May 2024.

I included the following in the application:
Cover letter, POF, Employer Letter of Introduction, Schedule of Networth, Past and Present Visa to other countries and record of past visa refusals.

Thanks so so much for your swift response, someone told me I have to be away from my husband for 3 years before he can apply to come meet me, that is I would have finished my diploma program and applied for pgwp before my husband can apply and my husband, even myself can't stay away from my husband for 3 years, so I couldn't continue. The lawyer's suggestion may be correct. IRCC currently tends to control temporary immigration closely, especially regarding visitor visas. They are aware that some applications may be more about securing a visa than genuinely needing to visit a spouse. People need to research well before choosing a course or province, especially Ontario, which hosts the largest population of international students in Canada but does not offer many PR pathways, except for the Ontario Master's Stream, which is a 2-year program and only available if you graduate from selected universities in Ontario, which can be expensive. Many 1-year diploma students in Ontario end up either pursuing another program or moving to another province. IRCC is also looking to close the loophole of changing courses or schools within Canada to apply for a new visa each time you switch programs. Studying in Canada is not for the weak!

It's a common misconception that you need to be separated for a year before IRCC considers spousal or family visit applications. In reality, IRCC does not require spouses to be apart for a specific period before reuniting. It's a visitor visa, and you need to prove that you will return to your home country after your visit since you're not entitled to a Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP). However, I am more concerned about spouses coming for a 1-year program without a solid plan for a PR (Permanent Residence) route. A 1-year course will only get you a 1-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), and if you get a job offer, your spouse can also get an open work permit for 1 year. But 1 year goes by fast, and what’s next for the couples? Many are getting stranded now or looking for an LMIA, which is extremely expensive. To get PR, you will still need to return to the Express Entry pool, where factors like your age, provincial nomination, work experience, and IELTS scores will matter.
Education in canada is not cheap, and for a couple to spend over 20,000 CAD in tution with cost of living and still struggle to get PR after the program or face enrolling in another 1-year program just to complete 1 + 1 to get a 3-year PGWP is daunting. The path to PR is becoming increasingly challenging these days
