I cannot prove if an official statement was made by APC undermining the prayers made by the Obas to GEJ but I can prove APC did an advert in national daily showing d pix of the OBAs praying for GEJ as shown here at one side and another of GEJ kneeling before Adeboye.They now captioned it Can you serve God and Mammon? I can voluntarily upload the aforementioned advert if you are in doubt.The APC took it as a big deal to blackmail the president.

I dare any one to counter my contribution in page 4 of this thread. In terms of jobs, GEJ tried. We can only encourage him to do more.

For the avoidance of doubts, president GEJ has created work employment in hundred of thousands, YOUWIN is just part of it.

1. Agriculture boost has empowered more farmers.I see more adverts on farms recently on Guardian than I have seen in the last 3 to 4 years. This is non-debatable and this alone has positive split effect.I will say this has most employment indices.

2.All the new federal universities created will either create new jobs or make people leave a previous job for it by so doing. Either way a job is created because eben when people leave their previous jobs, it will be replaced by somebody. Indirect jobs for the location where d universities are sited.This will also increase the economic activities in the state.

3.All the new almajiri school built in the North will employ teachers to teach them. The schools will be built and they will also have economic impacts on their host society.

4.Automobile company coming into d country to start local production will employ experts for feasinlbility studies, engineers and other professionals.As they comply to 60% local raw materials, the economy of the country is impacted.People will source for the raw materials.Some companies will come on board to supply those materials.Auto servicing firms will increase to take advantage and other indirect employments.

5.The unbundling of PHCN is another policy that has given room to employment.I remememberd seeing flood of adverts last year by new owners of PHCN.Most of these adverts even made front page in Nairaland. One of my friend and colleague was an indirect beneficiary.He actually got d present job he is leaving through a frnd that left for Flour Mills.D same frnd moved again to Ikeja distribution company making my friend and colleague to take his space at Flour Mills.Now someone else must be employed to fill d vacuum. Power companies when fully operational will have call centres, data centres, offices and sales outlets.They will need support from small vendor firms that will supply stuffs, sells payment cards etc.

It generally includes duties, purpose, responsibilities, scope, and working conditions of a job, along with the job’s title, and the name or designation of the person to whom the employee reports” (ref. business dictionary). The job description for this role has at least the following items on the “Main Responsibilities” segment:
• Develop an immediate solution to insecurity challenges
• Proffer workable measures to whittle down regional restiveness
• Take steps to effectively dam corruption
• Strengthen institutions of government
• Plug possible leaks to government revenue
• Provide electricity to power the economy (and not an Electricity Plan)
• Implement (not talk about) wholesale constitutional review
• Design short and long term plans to shore up the value of the naira
• Implement a multi-product economy
• Etc, etc!

• Ability to attract new talent into government

• Abundant passion and will for a new Nigeria
• Possession of a leadership mien
• Ability to lead and manage opposing groups e.g. security forces and politicians
• Ability to inspire the followership and chart a new course for Nigeria
• Ability to create a new culture for Nigeria

Where do we look for evidence of these knowledge and traits in the candidates? We would need to sieve through their past work experience, results achieved, reference checks on former colleagues, academics and trainings, etc. Draw up a checklist and start to tick off. For example, which candidate has more success dealing with insecurity? Tick. Does any of the competitors have training or work experience that helps him or her understand security and intelligence? Tick. Is there any contestant that can be described as a different type of politician?

One of the tests of great leaders is the ability to attract talented people to do the work. “After several years in government I realized that the more talented people I had as ministers, administrators, and professionals, the more effective my policies were, and the better the results.” – Lee Kuan Yew (Prime Minister, Singapore, 1959-1990).

During the candidate’s past work life, was he/she able to set off a new vision for the country, or former organisations, as the case may be, or was it business as usual? Tick. Which of them would appeal more to global watchers seeking a country to invest in, or have their citizens live and thrive? Tick.

C.Next Steps: Hire the next President at the Polling Booth

Choose a candidate using the template already provided, or else, put together some more plausible template that will equally work. Talk to people about the choice you have made, in case they haven’t made a choice. Use the social media and all other media to tell family, friends and colleagues about your choice.

They may be unclear or even confused, so your reasons may help them clarify some issues. Where you feel that their choice differs from yours, engage in robust and healthy discussions over it, provided it doesn’t lead to enmity. We must be able to accommodate opposing views and still use superior arguments or simple templates, such as this, to arrive at a candidate that serves the overall good of the nation.
Regrettably, it is only in Nigeria that we wish for credible candidates but don’t want to be personally bothered. The truth is that elections cost money. So invest in your candidates – donate money to them. Put your money where your mouth is. And on election date, go out and vote. Leave your DSTV alone, don’t mind the sun and go out to vote. Since the Valentine has been suspended till next year, show your love for the country by going out to vote. Remind your neighbor as well.
You cannot help hire the next right President by doing nothing. Future generations depend on the choice we make. Choose right.

In summary, corruption seems to have increased because we know more abt gov activities.Previous govt may have done worse in terms of corruption.

I see a new word been formed in Lagos 2015 Election just like the 'Stomach Infrastructure' was formed in the Ekiti 2014 Election. The APC guys are still battling to recover from that defeat.

AS the 2015 general elections get closer, eight political parties in Lagos State have expressed support for President Goodluck Jonathan in his bid to return for a second term through the 2015 general elections.

The party leaders spoke recently when they met with ‘Eko Initiative’, to declare their support for the re-election of President Jonathan and the election of Mr. Jimi Agbaje as governor of the state.

Some of the parties that participated in the endorsement include: Labour Party (LP), Mega Progressive Peoples Party (MPPP), Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), National Conscience Party (NCP), People for Democratic Change (PDC), Citizens Popular Party (CPP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

At the meeting held at Lekki in Lagos, the coordinator of the forum, Mr. Sunbo Onitiri, justified their endorsement of Jonathan “on the giant strides recorded by his administration in all sectors of the country.”

“We acknowledge the giant strides of Mr. President in the areas of education, agriculture, health, tourism, re-invention of the railway systems, roads and other infrastructural developments across the country,” he said.

“In view of Jonathan’s doggedness in pursuing his transformation agenda for Nigeria, we are in full support of his administration.

“We, therefore, endorse Mr. President for the forthcoming 2015 presidential election, to enable him continue with his transformation agenda, which transcends all spheres of our lives.”

Stating that “is also notable that there is tremendous focus on economic empowerment of Nigerians,” Onitiri added that, “if one good term deserves another, then GEJ should get a second term.”

“Nigeria needs serious fixing and one term of four years is nowhere enough to do all the things needed to turn around a country that was lying almost prostrate before GEJ came in,” he said.

He described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant for Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, as the only aspirant capable of unlocking the potentials of the state for accelerated and even development, urging the party to adopt him as its governorship candidate.

Onitiri insisted that Agbaje remains the only candidate that can better the performance of Governor Babatunde Fashola.

According to him, the party stands a great chance of winning the governorship election in the state if it fields Jimi Agbaje as candidate.

“We believe that Jimi is the right candidate that can dismantle the bad government of over-taxation and commercialisation in Lagos,” he said.

“He is the only candidate that can bring back industries and commerce to Lagos State, thereby creating more employment opportunities for our teeming youths.

“Lagosians do not deserve any candidate less. We are fully aware that Lagosians are sophisticated and well-enlightened voters; all they want is credible, honourable and competent candidate.”

Onitiri said gone were the days when political parties imposed any unpopular candidate on the electorate, stressing, “this is an era that political parties must carefully and painstakingly listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the electorate and adopt the people’s candidates so as to win.”

He said that the endorsement of Agbaje as the Eko Initiative’s candidate was borne out of his credibility and political relevance in the state and vowed to facilitate the PDP victory in the state come 2015.

He noted that the PDP at the national level was looking for over five million votes in Lagos, urging Lagosians to be actively involved in political activities.

“Revision of voters’ list will soon commence; please, come out massively and register. Keep your cards after registration, and don’t sell your voter’s card as it is your right to vote,” he admonished.

Also speaking, the Director of Administration and Logistics, Eko Initiative, Mr. Babatunde Shinaba, assured Lagosians that Jimi Agbaje was the only candidate that would ensure all reap in the dividends of democracy.

“Let us not deceive ourselves; he is the man with the needed requisite to win Lagos for us,” he said.

“He (Agbaje) is still as popular as he was seven years ago when he vied for the governorship slot and we all know he could have won if our election had been free and fair.”

Describing Agbaje as a man of the people who Lagosians can trust with their votes, Shinaba noted that it was the first time different parties would come together to endorse a candidate, “which illustrates the love and trust the people have on him.”

According to him: “Eko Initiative is an independent campaign organisation for the victory of Jimi Agbaje.

“We are ready to work with everyone, and come 2015, we shall all be victorious.”
