extraodinary: Please I need to knowgo to http://slotlimited.com/ Also bookmark it so you don't have to keep asking. |
4llerbuntu: I wonder why these people are deceiving themselves. do they intend to also doctor dales figures for the IRS when accounting time comes?I don't know why you have this personal beef with Nokia. I hope you know that out of the over 30 million GSIIIs sold, not one cent gets to your pocket? You should look forward to a strong competition from different OSes and not just a two horse race. @op Given that this kind of news came wi.previous lumias but they didn't sell up to the hype, I'm kind of neutral on this. That aside, the phone seems to be doing well especially with its worldwide release. Several carriers have come out to say it's selling much better than expected. If it does well, then WP would certainly be on track because the 940 would then be the major hit. |
Stanley08: Why you no compare Note II nah?! iPhone 5 is sold for upto 270K, compare it to Note II of only 94K and see that iPhone is crap. Why do some of you make posts just to cause commotion? So because iOS doesn't have widgets its rubbish? That's just like saying a Mercedes car is rubbish because it doesn't look like a Toyota car. Or hasn't it ever occurred to you that iOS and android are not meant to look alike? |

mr.drizzy:At the last apple event in October, apple announced that there are currently 750,000 apps in the app store. Sometime after that google announced that they've reached 700,000. Some months prior to these, Microsoft announced that they've reached the 100,000 mark. |
mr.drizzy:Then where did your '..becos u wan buy fone mtscheew' come from? If you think you prefer a particular phone, then go on with it. You don't need to troll every other phone which is not your choice. Early released iPhone 5 may have had issues but have you ever wondered why it has one of the highest user rating much better than what you listed? Now to your spec trash, I'm still wondering what you use to gauge power and how those phones are more powerful than iPhone. The thing with most android users is that you are always looking at specs without understanding them. iPhone 5 has just about a 1.3GHz processor and 1GB of RAM but I'm still yet to see any android device that outperforms it. The best you can get is something comparable. If you still want more examples, I can go on and give you examples of devices with lower sized batteries or 5MP cameras doing better than those with larger sized batteries or 8MP cameras respectively. Or even 1GB RAM dual core devices performing better than 2GB quad core devices. So when next you want to compare specs, make sure you understand them and how they affect performance cos without that, they are useless. And FYI, I don't use an iPhone. |
mr.drizzy:It seems you're still guessing because these figures are still wrong. Go and recheck and come back. |
mr.drizzy:It seems you're new around here. I don't need to google it to give you not just exact numbers but dates. Not even iOS which has more apps than android is anything close to 1 million. Also the number you gave for windows phone is horribly wrong or are you just making guesses? |
mr.drizzy:Speak for yourself. The iPhone is the most successful and expensive non-luxury phone. Hope you know the nexus 4 has no hope of selling close to it? If you have an amount to spend on a phone, then do it without complaining of people who spend more. |
mr.drizzy:Man stop talking trash or rather get your facts right before you talk. |
@op take away the asha, it's not part of their name. Just to clarify some issues. The device will be available in December. Lumia 920 can be pre-ordered for 105,000k while 820 for 82,000k from any MTN center nationwide. The pre-order comes with a free wireless charger and 6 months free internet data. The device is exclusive to MTN for 3 months but comes unlocked so can be used with any sim. |
tonigreen: Thnx my bro. i really appreciate ur detailed explanation. remain blessed.of course it's still in the market. Maybe you should check a different shop. |
tonigreen: like which one? After the N8 came C7, E7 and others. They were largely thesame with some subtle differences like camera quality, screen size, internal memory e.t.c but they can largely be regarded as thesame generation of symbian^3 After those, 701, 700 e.t.c were released out of which 701 was the best. These ones had twice the RAM better GPUs and also twice the processor speed and a slightly larger battery among other things. These also debuted with symbian belle which was updated to belle fp1 and later fp2. Though the older devices got belle, afterwards they only got belle refresh which is more of a cut down version of fp1. What you get with these is a vastly better performance than previous devices which were BTW not bad. Not too long ago, 808 was released which added a 41MP camera and a inch screen but with almost thesame internals. It together with 701 and co can be largely considered as another generation. So all-in-all, 808 is currently the best symbian device while 701 at its price offers the best value for money. If you've got the money then go for 808. Before I forget, Nokia 500 was also released with 701 but it's pretty much a low end device running belle. |
Da_b¤§§.:Well it's a Nokia phone and Nokia is still quite popular here. I was checking up the price of a device at slot when I noticed that the price of the previous lumias has dropped significantly just one month after launch. Well it was expected. For example lumia 800 is now 50k. I can only imagine if they were released back in May. This is another reason why the market release of 920 now would have further pushed those down. lumia 900 should be priced lower than 820 while 610 and the upcoming 510 should be below 30k |
Bawss1: Oh OK, I assumed that the charging plate was included upon purchase. You have a point here but I'm sick and tired of some folks who see nothing beyond their current device. |
You should get something more recent. Apart from the camera, the phone is out-dated in the symbian world. |
But this thread don try o. 8 pages without getting to frontpage. I can't remember any other thread achieving such. |
Bawss1: ^ I'm a little confused, is the wireless charging plate a separate accessory? Does it not come in the box when you buy the 920?It's a totally separate accessory just like the bluetooth headphone or JBL speaker. It's just that its a cool feature that Nokia want to make mainstream. |
Just to add that if you pre-order also get a wireless charging plate. So all-in-all, you get the phone, 6 months data and a wireless charging plate. https://mobile.twitter.com/nokia_nigeria/status/271664125749383168?p=v |
Lord_Reed: That will be such a let down; not everyone can afford to pay 80k and above for a phone just to experience it's own brand of OS.Of course but from the look of things, it seems all flagships are above that. |
Lord_Reed: I wasn't talking about the price actually. I meant I hope WP8 devices will come in budget sizes as well say about 20k - 40k range.Eventually... Yes. Immediately... I don't think so. I think currently Nokia is focused on using WP7.5 for cheaper devices but this should change with time. |
Lord_Reed: With WP8? I hope so.It would drop but that may be after about 5-6 months instead of the usual 3 months. But the market launch price would be cheaper than what MTN is offering. |
samir101ng: Samsung Galaxy Note II N99,000 & Samsung Galaxy SIII N87,999 (www.). Both devices come with Android OS. Now, with the asking price of N105,000 on the Nokia Lumia 920 and which won't be in stores till Dec and only to MTN subscribers, Nokia is making a HUGE mistake to say the least in marketing the Nokia Lumia 920. Windows Phone 8 is still an emerging platform needing more time to mature. The lower price point will have been an added advantage to attract new customers to the platform. The Android OS is a mature platform and will serve as an alternative in my opinion. How much were you expecting the price to be? This phone is similarly priced with other flagship devices especially if yo take into consideration the 6 month free data. The MTN SGS III with 3 months data was thesame price. The only problem I've got is its exclusivity. After 3 months when it would be generally available, the price would still be high cos it would just be new to the market then. Almost like the problem with the current lumias. But if MTN adequately advertise it, then it may be worth it. |
Logicboy03: Stop buying into Western propaganda. The fear of terrorists can be very irrational at times. One can look at the war in Iraq.Unlike the war in Iraq, we have a real war on our hands fuelled by people who think they're doing God a favour. Though I agree with you on Mali not having enough economic potential or security challenge to warrant a direct invasion from the superpowers, the issue with Mali is one that affects us directly and so any help we get from them should be regarded as a bonus. Or do you think US will waste time in uprooting a terrorist base if it was situated close to them? This "since it doesn't it affect me, I don't care attitude" is what brought us to where we are now. I remember when the BH issue started, many people saw it as a Bauchi issue until it spread to the North. Even at that alot of people still see it as a regional issue and would rather blame victims for living there. The question I usually ask them is "tell me just a single reason that stops a BH bomb from going off in any state in the country?" Almost 50% of the BH issue is due to the fact that they can easily run into neighbouring countries to hide. If Mali is conquered by terrorists, we can as well forget about peace. The fact is that the war in Mali is a very local one and should be treated as such. |
Logicboy03: Agreed!I don't think you've been in a position of leadership before. The fact that we have some security issues does not mean we should abandon our regional duties moreso when the country involved is a close one. Even if we decide to abandon Mali, all we would achieve would be to provide a safe haven for terrorists to attack us at will when they're done with Mali. If you think Boko Haram is causing havoc locally, wait until their cousins take over Mali. Just take a look at what terrorist organizations are doing to many Arab nations. You may talk of deploying those soldiers to the North, but I hope you know our main issue there is not that of personnel number. So even if we don't assist Mali, we won't still achieve anything locally as a result of that. Take a look at US and UK. Even with the economic recession that brought alot of hardship on their people, they were still spending alot of money in grants and charity outside their country. They would have decided to close shop until they sort out their problems. |
spurlge: pls who has any idea when d phone lld hit d market cos what im seeing on the site is somehow its lyk 475pounds lyk 125k thats kinda expensive....I don't think it would be upto that amount. European and UK prices contain about 25% tax as part of the price. The unlocked price in the US better corresponds. To put things in perspective, you can compare its price to that of Galaxy S III at launch. All-in-all, it should be priced between 90 and 100k |

jmaine: Exclusive to MTN . . . .That's quite restrictiveI saw that yesterday but didn't really give it a thought until I saw an MTN advert today on they bringing windows phone 8 to Africa. It's good they're doing some advertising themselves. It's been quite a very long time since I've come across all this exclusive and locked phone stuff. I personally think it's senseless for we in Nigeria except if its going to be well subsidised. |
k2wise: And HTC is not?I don't think so. Or can it be operated with finger nails or gloves on? |
Mr President ain't doing bad at all. |
Bawss1: One can get it overseas but that would be too much of a hassleI think my above post is good news for you and other folks who are waiting for this device. Its good Nokia have decided to stop bitching around certain markets and now make their products available globally. |
Hey folks, some days ago Nokia Nigeria posted on facebook that they're going to bring alot of colours to Nigeria on Tuesday. "On Tuesday, we’ll bring loads of colors to Nigeria… :-)" I thought it was going to be the lumia 510 but to my surprise, I just logged into facebook and saw their new update together with this picture. "The Nokia Lumia 920 is Coming to Nigeria! Like This? Share This! :-)" http://m.facebook.com/NokiaNigeria?ref=stream&refid=17&_ft_=fbid.452394488130225
