charles316:My advice to you is this: Don't ever buy any low-end android phone |
EMMAACHILE:And how many do you have on your device? You would agree with me that majority are either nonsense low quality pirated apps of the original ones or bugs and viruses. So please stop bringing up this issue of 450,000 apps when talking about android. |
BlackBaron:Man sharrap! Our foreign reserve is not thesame as our worth |
Good but what about all the money they stole. I also want to see it returned and people jailed |
They would have to recoup their investigatory and legal costs first before deciding how what percentage of the amount left to return. I personally would not want the money returned back directly to the Government. Instead it can be given to multinational agencies like UNICEF to undertake specific projects in the state |
@op Seeing you cannot deny the fact that support may be in the form of salary, I think I should tell you that good and bad in Christianity is not always a direct opposite or white and black. There are alot of things that are neither wrong nor bad. Also you should endeavour to read bible passages in appreciation of the context in which it was written. Just like when Jesus told his disciples to give freely. He was simply referring to acts like demanding a reward from people before or after preaching or praying for them. This has nothing with churches supporting their ministers Lastly, I would prefer if you refer to it as stipend and not salary. Because if you know how much many priests are said especially those in orthodox churches you would understand that it in no way equates to their effort and is rather just to meet basic needs |
@op Can you deny the fact that support can be in form of salary? |
I think you all are missing something- RELATIVITY You dont expect settlement of a spouse worth 5 Billion to be thesame with that of one worth 500 million under thesame circumstances. Nobody is asking whether its too much or not enough. C'mon its just common sense |
@sagamite I really thought you were more matured than this. I followed this topic from page 1 and noticed you called almost everybody with different views from yours cretins. Well let me say if you are trying to dissuade someone from an opinion it would be better to trade intelligent points and not insults. And to everybody against this practice. Let me ask you what you have done personally to change it rather than limiting your rants to NL Societies make and change laws as they see fit and most times this laws reflect the thinking of the general populace Its just like an American having issues with Nigerias law on homosexuality. Or a Nigerian having issues with Americas law on polygamy. If you have issues with such laws move over to your country |
shiiit nairaland should make it possible for people to edit their posts especially those using phones |
mrmayor:If you read the last paragraph of my reply you will notice acknowledged that and took care of it. On the 10year tenure for Bishops I really dont think its true as they remain bishops retire only when they reach the set, die age or resign voluntarily. Atleast I know that one my previous Bishop stayed on seat like almost forever and the current one is soo young that no one is even dreaming of becoming the bishop of the diocese cos he will be around for almost 30years |
Personally I think we should look at the big picture and not insult people because some leaders have misused their authority I think the ultimate human head of different religions (and denominations) are not rotated (except in few exceptions) Look at the Roman Catholics and Anglicans. Nobody rotates their bishops, (although some may move to head a new diocese) Archbishops, Primates or the Pope. Infact they have cannonical powers and can prefere any priest to any post and are expected to be obeyed. Even in Islam I have not heard of the Sultan being rotated or any other supreme Islamic leader. You can also look at our traditional setting. In my area and all areas I know of the Chief Priest is never rotated Also the question of some people being favoured is just natural. Afterall even Jesus favoured some disciples and showed them things like the transfiguration which others didn't see. Like I remember the former Primate whose Warden- a very young priest was made a Bishop when a diocese was created in his home town. In summary: I know democracy is very good, but for the survival of certain structures it should not be practiced fully within their confines. Atleast the case of Cardinals or other Bishops voting for a new Pope, Bishop or Primate as the case may be is enough democracy. Atleast this preserves the 'cult status' of some of these positions. |
texazzpete:That phrase is still very true now. Well lets say although the gap is bridging some phone manufacturers have come to be known with some qualities over the years UI - IPhone Sleek and wonderful design - Samsung Ruggedness and battery life - Nokia texazzpete:As of last month I couldn't get any piece of that phone below 70,000 in the major shops in my area and I would be very sceptical to purchase it below 60,000 Also looking at just the hardware specs of a phone alone doesn't give you the full picture. U have to look at it together with the operating system and the manufacturing details to get the real feel. E.g A windows phone doesn't need all these specs to perform very fast. Infact all other things being equal any windows phone with 1GHz processor is much faster than any other phone with thesame specs. Also its a known fact that symbian-run phones require at lower specs will still give you thesame feel as some android-run ones with higher specs A Nokia phone running symbian with a battery capacity of 1300mAh will last longer (especially during usage) than an android phone having thesame battery capacity. All-in-all I've used some phones with very high specs and noticed that some other phones with lower specs perform much better. Well its all about the hardware-software synchronization |
well to all you android fans I say carry on. But I think we are being too harsh on Nokia. Well after considering all the hype about android phones I decided to get myself Nokia 701 which runs the new symbian belle and here is what I think: 1. I think the new symbian belle is cool and satisfies all my demands. All this talk about Nokia phasing out symbian is premature as it is due in 2016 which is a very very long time in the smartphone world. I wonder how many of u will be using thesame phone in the next 2yrs talkless of in 4 yrs. BTW the Cindy and Donna and even the full windows support update for symbian is still not yet out 2. I am an application freak and I have noticed that 99% all the applications i find useful are already available on belle eventhough its still new. Let me ask you how many applications you have and their functions and you will notice the important ones are already on belle. 3 No other phone make compares with Nokia hardware power, durability and battery life 4. Even if Nokia finally moves over to windows phone. It would be a kind of hybrid (Nokia hardware + windows UI) 5 At 52,500 Nokia 701 proves to be the best value for money phone. At least no other phone below 70,000 provides one with thesame specs |
Where are those still questioning the quality of Serie A? |
Is this how ACN wants to overthrow PDP? Very soon somebody will come here and paint PDP as Nigerias only problem and ACN as our saviour and saint Like I said on another thread I see PDP taking some states from ACN at the next elections |
As we are here talking grammar some peeps are already taking hectares for free. BTW I want to hear what some bigots have to say about this |
nakedwire:They should have no problem reading it cos most of the statements are kind of pre-determined and follow a particular rhythm. So you know what you are expecting to see next. Also there are alot of words localized to the medical profession and most of them have standard short-forms. So all-in-all bad writing + numerous short-forms = where chicken dey scatter ground |
For those of you saying they do it to confuse their patients. I think that is absolutely wrong Why not look at fresh graduate from med school or house officers and see if theirs is any better. Also in most where hospitals the patient is not allowed to handle their folder, you could take a look into it and see whether you can read what is being written The idea of patient not understanding what is written is just an added consequence and not necessarily an advantage as you can ask you doc for both the names of your drugs and he/she would tell you |
Well as a medical student who is almost through I think this is quite a funny question but its also quite true. Sometime ago I noticed my handwriting was much more worse than when I got in. Infact at a stage I stopped trying to make it better and now I purposely write roughly. Some of the reasons I think are responsible include: 1. The volume of what you are expected to write in exams and quizes to get the pass mark. This is particularly true because the deterioration of my writing started in my 2nd year when I had to write volumes to get a little above 50 especially in my anatomy quiz 2. The lecturers are also not helping matters especially in clinical classes where they expect you to copy slides as fast as they read it. So you have to write fast and also use alot of abbreviations 3. It gets to its peak as a House Officer where you have to write notes in the patients folder as fast as you chief is speaking to avoid being insulted and embarrassed in front of students and patients (like young man which school did you finish from? How did you even pass your exams?) 5. You have to learn from your predecessors and do likewise 4. I know this may sound weird but I think its cool to write roughly But we should also note that not all have bad writing. Many of the females have nice and legible writing but as for the guys its really bad (like where chicken dey scatter ground) |
koruji:I am not saying that PDP has done well. Infact their performance is far below average. But what I'm saying is that the opposition do not offer better prospects rather than just being 'the opposition' PDPs national ideology may not be perfect but they are the party that believe in the one Nigeria slogan which is aided by their rotation policy (although I do not subscribe to this) What we see in other parties are people who are tired of this country and want to protect their region from it whereas PDP is offering everyone a seat on the table Just look at the last election where defeat was staring them in the face rather than unite and offer a viable opposition instead they choose defeat. Why? Because they could not suppress their selfish personal interests. Whereas in PDP even with all the threats they managed to keep it within under the party and present us with one candidate. You talk like its only PDP that rigs elections. All parties rig elections in areas where they have supporter majority. I've seen it done severally The opposition can only become a viable option if they 1. Throw away their regional ideologies and unite into one with national interests and not god-fathered by one or two people. 2. If they stop accepting former PDP rogues 3. If they provide us with viable individuals of character and not hand picked ones or friends and relatives 4. If their elected officials perform well and not rely on the hardwork of one man to use as a face for their party 5. If they do away with their god fathers or promote more people to this status so that one man doesnt run the show. Until then PDP will still lead the way And please stop telling me to vote the opposition just because of that. This is exactly what Peter Obi used to ride to power (together with media publicity). Now look at his performance today. With the way things are going, ACN may loose some state to PDP in the next elections |
koruji:Like it or not PDP is the only party with not just a national spread but also a national ideology. I think from the recent past those putting Nigerias problems on PDP are not telling themselves the truth. We all know how people jump from party to party during elections and all of a sudden we make a rouge a saint just because he has changed his party or is it that of a man installing his family members to run for any political position he likes I can go on and list alot of governors both from PDP and the opposition who performed excellently and also those who did poorly. I think we should be objective in our criticisms and not just because of someones party. I think any official that wants to work will do so irrespective of his party. @alj harem So are you saying we should vote people from the opposition just because they are from another party? I really believe that no other party would have performed better than PDP all this while. Afterall is it not thesame politicians? |
denitro:ANSWER: you ask him 'if I meyour twin brother and asked him the right road to follow, which one would he show me? Then you simply follow the opposite road of any one he shows you |
I'm very annoyed. It should have been atleast 6-0 |
Very soon they will say Ibra is overrated |
MILAN all the way FORZA ROSSONERI |
Why is the word seexuall censored |
Well its already part of the curriculum and is currently being taught. When I visited home this last Christmas I remember going through my junior ones biology notes and texts and was surprised to see topics on sexual education and contraception. I also learnt that quite a number of topics in social studies had been scraped e.g. Evolution of man e.t.c. These have been replaced by topics regarding current social vices like cultism, drug trafficking. Well I see it as a nice move and also want contraceptives especially condoms and emergency pills to be made available in schools |
The ingenuity of the Igbo Spirit |
Kudos to the SSS for a job well done |
PHOTOSHOP Its funny how many people have been fooled by this 1. If you look at the under of the table carefully you should notice that its a picture of two different people (i.e copy and paste). This is possible because some of them are wearing thesame uniform 2. Also see the two girls hugging in front. This cant be an exam. You also notice that most desks have books scattered all over. Funny that people have already started debating this |
