Let us see the next 6 months. If there is the desired improvement then the whole subsidy should be removed |
I'm not being sarcastic but I can't see the large crowd |
mayorteeny:He didn't have any delay. Although I agree that uni ilorin do not go on strike. I think their academic year is usually longer than normal and also their breaks may be long. All these contribute to the delay |
Feraz:I don't agree with you. They both matter (speed & quality). Ok lets say you spend 9years in skul, them 3 years for house job and youth service (cos of the likely delays). That is 12yrs alone. Then you now have to think about specialization which in Nigeria is far tougher and may be longer than med skul. That brings you to about 18-20 years studying. Man that is worrisome For me anyting above 7yrs for med school (without resit) leads to diminishing returns. You can ask students in schools which give 6 months break after each exam |
olawalebab:Ok will withdraw 'only' and replace it with 'among the few'. But then the calendar of UI is slower. A class mate of mine in sec school who got admission together with me is about 6 months slower and will be approx. 1year on graduation But like I said most of what I know about other schools is by interaction with other med students and not a 1st hand experience |
Hahahahahahaha Where is the Yoruba led PENGASSAN |
@poster I can't speak of others but UNIZIK med school is good. 1. Its the only school which never goes on strike (including the current strike). 2. They have a steady and fast academic calendar. Infact from my interaction with med students around the country, I can say its the fastest. Also I can confidently tell you the almost exact time for all the MBs which never change. 3. In academics its not lacking 4. Admission is by merit. And if you are Yoruba you have a better chance cos its a federal uni and very dey western folks school in the south. NB: It doesn't really matter where u get your MBBS certificate from. Once its a federal university its ok for me. You will soon discover that most of what u know as a Doctor is what you read on your own and not necessarily what you were taught. The lecturers are just there to guide you. |
Fear don dey catch dey. I thought they were forming strong men for the militants |
why are there usually no front page links for serie A matches as we have for other leagues |
either way the government still has the upper hand. GEJ is beginning to gain my support |
@jmaine Are you saying that all the local stations that sell fuel at N65 are directly involved in importing and subsidy collection? I think that the Government subsidizes fuel to importers in such a way that they can decide to sell it to consumers at N65 or sell it to other local marketers who will now sell at N65 with both parties making profit. Afterall most of the local stations are not listed in the list of importing companies and vice versa |
megastu:1. It will be better if you can engage in discussions without resorting to insults to drive home your point 2. This issue is a national one and so protests in Lagos or the SW generally wouldn't do much. You need atleast 4 out of the 6 regions ACTIVELY involved. You can refer to my post immediately above |
madprof:I really dont think so In the SS and SE its almost nonexistent because the few people who came out wont achieve much. With the curfew in Kano (the major state in the north) almost half the effect of the protest has been wiped out. If you say Kaduna and Jos (also Maiduguri, Adamawa and Yobe) these states are too volatile and any protest going on there will be mild. The remaining northern states (except Sokoto) will not exert enough pressure as a region. The middle belt is not that active So the only region really involved is the SW. This will further help the Government give the protests a political picture. All in all the whole stuff seems to favour the Government |
These protests are beginning to die a natural death. Seems to me that the NLC & TUC are beginning to loose support and also 'negotiating power' GEJ welldone on this. Atleast you have answered your critics who said you have no balls |
Justcash:Before i reply you i think i should tell you that 1. my family lives in the north so all these things happening interest me very well 2. I am not equating life to money but like i said earlier imagine if the Yorubas told Igbos to leave Lagos. How easy do you think it will be |
Shame on all you Igbo folks arguing here. I just returned from Kaduna to Osha now. Immediately we got to Asaba we were all startled at the amount of hausa folks returning in trucks and the likes. Only to get home and see this. Most times i wonder at the ignorance all my Igbo brothers who have never crossed to the north. Do you think Igbo people can return with leather-bags just like hausa people i saw today Let me use this analogy- Imagine Yoruba people telling Igbos to leave Lagos. Here is my point wherever Igbos settle they own houses and businesses. So telling someone to sell all his property and come and begin from the scratch is hard. If you say life is more important I will ask what is life without value |
look at how easy it is 4 these eediots to leave. This is because they are mainly security men and petty-traders who contribute little or nothing to the society. While Igbo folks in the north have chains of landed property and businesses running into millions. They should be stopped and used as 'collateral' incase their brothers misbehave |

From most of the replies above, it seems doctors are in very high demand |
@op except if your mind is madeup I would advice you to go for the new Nokia 701. It uses the new symbian belle which is awesome. Also its hardware specs (u can Google it) are top notch and can be matched only by highend android phones which are more than #40,000 more expensive. There are hd games and nice softwares available. Also the Cindy update promises to be better |
most of this schools had problems because of over admitting students. I think majority of the schools are from the SE mainly because of the importance Igbo people attach to medicine leading to excess pressure on their schools. Unfortunately although their accreditation has been returned, white man no wan hear dat one |
well I'm using my Nokia 701 with the new symbian belle (although some said they copied other platforms- why should I care?) I think its an awesome phone with wonderful specs and super cheap as you wont get any phone less than 85000 with thesame specs while it goes for just 55000. And I'm not talking about the superior Nokia hardware and the longlasting battery. Can't wait for the new Cindy update |
@cine Perhaps if u had taken ur time to read from page 1 (like i did) u would notice that all these your points have been treated. Moreover my post was a reply to evilbrain |
also to add to no 3. Consent is not an issue as the dead persons consent can be got before the persons death as is obtainable in organ harvest |
@Evilbrain 1. Don't u think making such strict regulations against prostitutes is discriminatory and a breech of their human rights? Seeing that this is a means of livelihood 4 them those laws should be abolished or extended to oda professions. Also the issue of health risk should be left for the consenting adult to bear afterall every job has its risks 2. I have been with animals and I can tell u I have never seen any act of homosexuality (not disputing those who have seen) but have seen multiple acts of inbreeding. Infact a goat will not think twice in bleeping its mother. But if u think they should not be copied then the idea of homo being natural cos it exists in animals doesn't carry water. And also why shouldn't siblings be allowed to marry Bestiality= dismissing this on the issue of consent is hypocritical. Let me ask u if we take consent from poultry before killing them for food. So along thesame line of thought we don't need the animals consent to have sex with it. Hope u know its been legalised for US soldiers 3. The issue of public health as regards corpses is non-existent. We are in the 21st century and corpses can be kept for years with little or no health risk. So people who want to marry corpses should be allowed if they can eliminate the health risks 4. I brought in this because uve used the west as a model for human rights. There is nothing like limitless rights. They put limits to their human rights as it concerns them (polygamy) and we have also put limits to ours as it concerns us (homosexuality) In summary; Homosexuality is an abnormality that although might occur in some lower animals is wrong and can, should and must be corrected. Also its the gate way to a vicious cycle that includes bestiality, prostitution, incest, necrophilia etc which all erode our values and must be stopped at the gate (homosexuality) |
Evilbrain ive noticed ur silence on some issues From your POV what is your take on making prostitution legal 2. What about legalising inbreeding and violation since it occurs in animals also and therefore natural (according to you) 3. U should also be in support of bestiality, getting married to inanimate objects like carvings etc (since some people have sexual drive toward these things), and also sleeping with corpses 4. Also why is the west silent about legalising polygamy when all the concerned parties give their concent |
hello. I just got the Nokia 701 and i think its great. Please can anyone post a direct resumable link for asphalt6 adrenaline |
Milan all the way |
To all of u asking jona to step down. Let me ask if he steps down who will take over? We know it would be sambo, the crises in the north will definitely chill out and the northern cabal would have succeeded in taking us for a ride. Jona should only step down if his successor fulfils these conditions 1. He must not be a muslim 2. He must not be a hausa or yoruba man. Till we get someone who fulfils these conditions, jona should continue |
welldone gej and his minister |
