Can you even explain what PDP's national ideology mean? Does it look to you that PDP is capable of bringing national cohesion to this country?

Corruption is worse than ever, sections of this country have had running conflicts for much of the last 12 years, the last election conducted by and for PDP was filled with open threats against one section of the country by another, all from within the same PDP party.

How can you call the bold-faced stealing of votes that PDP practices anything but a farce - 1999, 2003 and 2007 were a curse on elections. What happened in 2011 was painted as good and dandy, but in reality produced one of the worst election violence in Nigeria's history, and its effects are still evident in the activities of the BH group. Meanwhile, we have a president that says and does ridiculous stuff after promising "transformation".

Let me tell you the truth - PDP is a northern party managed by the same northern elite that had managed to dominate rulership in Nigeria both civilian and the army. That is the long and short of it. Their southern helpers are people of a name that I will not speak of, who have brought the same kind of "governmental ineptitude" that is pushing the north to the edge of the precipice down south. GEJ defied his "masters" by hijacking the party machinery to become president, and we know how much cooperation he is getting now. Even the PDP appointed CBN governor comes up with all manner of policies and statements that can only divide this country. National ideology, my foot !!!

Except for a couple of its governors in the southeast/south-south PDP officials nationwide are a bunch of feudalistic viziers well-trained in the acts of embezzlements and completely bereft of ideas of what makes a nation tick.

Finally, good and bad people will always be found in any party, so what really matters is whether a party's agenda is good for the nation. A good party cannot be destroyed by a bad individual, but a good individual can readily be destroyed by a bad party. PDP is a bad party where any potentially good adminstrator will be corrupted.

PDP's incompetence and shameless corruption will eventually kill Nigeria - a parasite that sucks its host to death will itself die soon.

I am not saying that PDP has done well. Infact their performance is far below average. But what I'm saying is that the opposition do not offer better prospects rather than just being 'the opposition'

PDPs national ideology may not be perfect but they are the party that believe in the one Nigeria slogan which is aided by their rotation policy (although I do not subscribe to this)
What we see in other parties are people who are tired of this country and want to protect their region from it whereas PDP is offering everyone a seat on the table
Just look at the last election where defeat was staring them in the face rather than unite and offer a viable opposition instead they choose defeat. Why? Because they could not suppress their selfish personal interests.
Whereas in PDP even with all the threats they managed to keep it within under the party and present us with one candidate.

You talk like its only PDP that rigs elections. All parties rig elections in areas where they have supporter majority. I've seen it done severally
The opposition can only become a viable option if they
1. Throw away their regional ideologies and unite into one with national interests and not god-fathered by one or two people.
2. If they stop accepting former PDP rogues
3. If they provide us with viable individuals of character and not hand picked ones or friends and relatives
4. If their elected officials perform well and not rely on the hardwork of one man to use as a face for their party
5. If they do away with their god fathers or promote more people to this status so that one man doesnt run the show.
Until then PDP will still lead the way

And please stop telling me to vote the opposition just because of that. This is exactly what Peter Obi used to ride to power (together with media publicity). Now look at his performance today.
With the way things are going, ACN may loose some state to PDP in the next elections

I agree with you completely that PDP is the only party with a national spread. . .
. . .that is a national spread of CORRUPTION, INCOMPETENCE, CLUELESSNESS and all other qualities that have seen the party in control at the center & in most states for 12 years with little to show for it.

The question is why do YOU see that as a badge of honor, rather than protect yourself from the national disease called PDP.

In other climes, a government/party like this would not see another term for a long time to come.

But this is Nigeria where the usual, and empty, arguments still work. It is the party that has a national spread, not which party puts competents hands in office and deliver on promises.

Like it or not PDP is the only party with not just a national spread but also a national ideology.

I think from the recent past those putting Nigerias problems on PDP are not telling themselves the truth.
We all know how people jump from party to party during elections and all of a sudden we make a rouge a saint just because he has changed his party or is it that of a man installing his family members to run for any political position he likes
I can go on and list alot of governors both from PDP and the opposition who performed excellently and also those who did poorly.
I think we should be objective in our criticisms and not just because of someones party. I think any official that wants to work will do so irrespective of his party.

Why is the word seexuall censored

Well its already part of the curriculum and is currently being taught.
When I visited home this last Christmas I remember going through my junior ones biology notes and texts and was surprised to see topics on sexual education and contraception.
I also learnt that quite a number of topics in social studies had been scraped e.g. Evolution of man e.t.c. These have been replaced by topics regarding current social vices like cultism, drug trafficking.
Well I see it as a nice move and also want contraceptives especially condoms and emergency pills to be made available in schools

my best friend is from mbaise and he is a good guy. However I can tell you that there are some beliefs some Igbos have against them of which most are false. But I can tell you they are very fetish and most of their indigenes hardly return home or are very careful when they return. You can ask her yourself. (as they say no smoke without fire)
Also forget most of these Hollywood fans telling you that you are only getting married to her let them go and check how long Hollywood marriages last. In Nigeria marriage is a union between two families not necessarily between two people.
Also remember marriage is not all about love and NO marriage lasts no love alone

In summary: Don't stereotype her because of her people but there are somethings associated with Mbaise people which you should look out for in her. This doesn't necessarily mean she is bad.

Hello I'm a med student who will soon be through with med school.

1. I hear going abroad for residency now can be tough. So please is it worth the stress and effort or is it better if its done here.
2. Does a consultant trained in America have an edge over one trained in Nigeria if they are to practice in Nigeria.
3. Please which countries abroad are easier to go for residency and what is the advantage of the US and UK over these countries

2. Its good u are learning his language. But Igbo is a very hard and complex language to learn. I doubt you know it that well as he may be talking about u and you wont even suspect anything
3. About discussing your concerns. Its ok but you have to put your feet down and get to know his family fast
4. Dont be carried away by his proverbs (typical with Igbos) or his going to church. It doesn't change who he really is
5. Dont act like you have nothing to loose if there is a break up. You never know how you might react to something until you experience it

In summary I may sound pessimist (although I'm just looking at it as a fellow Igbo man would do) your relationship with this man has very basic issues you need to sort out immediately. And mind you those looking for papers do not go telling their spouses to their face rather they tend to play the good guy.

I know I might sound sceptical but as am Igbo man I noticed somethings that I am worried about
1. He is Igbo and his main reason of going abroad might have been to make money
2. You said he is quite new in town and is settling down. Hope he is not using you to achieve that purpose or get his papers
3. He said he just ended a relationship with a 'witch' with which he had a child. See Igbo men value their wife and kids. If the other lady was Igbo I am almost certain he is married to her and sees her as his true and only wife.
4. His refusal to introduce you to his family means alot. This most likely may be because his other woman is in the care of his family and they will be shocked to know you exist.
5. He has political ambitions and its almost certain he will come back to achieve them and the fact is you might not help him much in achieving them due to family support and a different political environment.
6. He most likely will speak in Igbo language to his relatives meaning you will not understand their discussion which makes it tougher.
7. You should also observe how often he sends money home. This will show you how soon he wants to return as they may be for some projects or his own family

My advice for you is
1. Try as much as possible to speak with his family especially his mother and sisters as they are the main people involved in family issues
2. You did not say whether you have a child for him. But if you dont then dont get pregnant until you are fully aware of family background and his family also know you
3. Just be careful as i have my reservations toward this man
4. Also dont allow external interference in your family but listen to your parents advice as most times they speak the truth from experience that your peers dont have and you wont get on this forum. But the problem comes with sifting out their natural selfishness, bias and love from the truth they give.
