Very soon these hausa mallams come here and insult Igbos when their region ranks extremely low in the basic standard for measuring development. I wish we can also have their maternal mortality rate and under 5 mortality rate to see that northern Nigeria and contries like somalia and afghanistan are almost equal. Yet they think it's their right to rule Nigeria. Very soon they will start shouting quota systen and federal character |
Absolutely wrong move. This shows us that ALL these opposition parties are regional parties with regional ideologies. Waiting to see the opinion of ACN supporters on this. |
I think its too harsh as most of the people that will die are not will not be government officials (especially if it is at all levels) |
Those northern states should take a cue from this |
wrong move |
Don't know why some people specialise in opening senseless threads. @op if you like you can work 24/7/365. Nobody is stopping you. BTW how did this make it to the front page |
@op my best friend is from mbaise and he is a good guy. However I can tell you that there are some beliefs some Igbos have against them of which most are false. But I can tell you they are very fetish and most of their indigenes hardly return home or are very careful when they return. You can ask her yourself. (as they say no smoke without fire) Also forget most of these Hollywood fans telling you that you are only getting married to her let them go and check how long Hollywood marriages last. In Nigeria marriage is a union between two families not necessarily between two people. Also remember marriage is not all about love and NO marriage lasts no love alone In summary: Don't stereotype her because of her people but there are somethings associated with Mbaise people which you should look out for in her. This doesn't necessarily mean she is bad. Ok just take these analogies - You are more likely to be duped if you are doing business with a Nigerian than with a Briton. This does not mean that all Nigerians are fraudsters - As a Christian you are more likely to be killed by Boko H if you live in the north Man its all about probability |
Hello I'm a med student who will soon be through with med school. Just wanted to be cleared on somethings 1. I hear going abroad for residency now can be tough. So please is it worth the stress and effort or is it better if its done here. 2. Does a consultant trained in America have an edge over one trained in Nigeria if they are to practice in Nigeria. 3. Please which countries abroad are easier to go for residency and what is the advantage of the US and UK over these countries |
still waiting |
Obviously your best wasn't good enough. |
dtanigwe:1. Money ritual is superstitious nonsense. If you notice it was brought up by some bigots. 2. Its good u are learning his language. But Igbo is a very hard and complex language to learn. I doubt you know it that well as he may be talking about u and you wont even suspect anything 3. About discussing your concerns. Its ok but you have to put your feet down and get to know his family fast 4. Dont be carried away by his proverbs (typical with Igbos) or his going to church. It doesn't change who he really is 5. Dont act like you have nothing to loose if there is a break up. You never know how you might react to something until you experience it In summary I may sound pessimist (although I'm just looking at it as a fellow Igbo man would do) your relationship with this man has very basic issues you need to sort out immediately. And mind you those looking for papers do not go telling their spouses to their face rather they tend to play the good guy. |
Mrs, Chima:Definitely not. But I was brought up to believe that marriage does not just bring two people together but also two families. Also in our family we know and are usually in good terms with any intending spouse (except one) . Moreover I think a man who doesn't listen to his parents will not listen to his wife also |
Mrs, Chima:I'm beginning to feel for the op If she was my sister or child I would have told her to end the union right away to prevent further trauma because as you said I really dont think he loves her |
dtanigwe:I hardly reply on this forum but I just want to because i didn't like your mothers story and I feel you deserve better I know I might sound sceptical but as am Igbo man I noticed somethings that I am worried about 1. He is Igbo and his main reason of going abroad might have been to make money 2. You said he is quite new in town and is settling down. Hope he is not using you to achieve that purpose or get his papers 3. He said he just ended a relationship with a 'witch' with which he had a child. See Igbo men value their wife and kids. If the other lady was Igbo I am almost certain he is married to her and sees her as his true and only wife. 4. His refusal to introduce you to his family means alot. This most likely may be because his other woman is in the care of his family and they will be shocked to know you exist. 5. He has political ambitions and its almost certain he will come back to achieve them and the fact is you might not help him much in achieving them due to family support and a different political environment. 6. He most likely will speak in Igbo language to his relatives meaning you will not understand their discussion which makes it tougher. 7. You should also observe how often he sends money home. This will show you how soon he wants to return as they may be for some projects or his own family My advice for you is 1. Try as much as possible to speak with his family especially his mother and sisters as they are the main people involved in family issues 2. You did not say whether you have a child for him. But if you dont then dont get pregnant until you are fully aware of family background and his family also know you 3. Just be careful as i have my reservations toward this man 4. Also dont allow external interference in your family but listen to your parents advice as most times they speak the truth from experience that your peers dont have and you wont get on this forum. But the problem comes with sifting out their natural selfishness, bias and love from the truth they give. |
@Seun and Kobo I think you people should also look at their agreement with other countries. That of Iran really interests me ![]() |
ceejayluv:1. Its much better if you post without insults 2. Everybody knows about royalty payments if not none of them would be Here but its just the percentage thats worrisome 3. I think I prefer the method used in Iran where they do the whole work and sell the crude to the government at a fixed price so all the rise in oil price will be gain to the government only |
Left for me both the IG and all DIGs should be retired. GEJ has to borrow the iron fist of some past leaders in this case |
WHAT ![]() Who signed that agreement in the first place |
ismhab:This just shows how you think. I hope you are expecting your own 72 virgins up there. But let me ask what kind of place do you think heaven is and also what will your 4 wives here be doing while you deflower your virgins FYI this is my last reply to you |
If i will get married and settle down abroad then yes. If i will get married and settle in 9ja then no. But with things changing fast in 9ja I will have a rethink when the time comes |
ziccoit:Man I dont understand you but I still think you are mistaken |
MODS Can we please have a modal names (the names occurring most) so we can see the regions that have defrauded us most |
nagoma:Although I do not support the means through which some of them pass but u cannot compare their resilience (given that education is not free) to the docile nature of some northerners. People in Ebonyi are fighting for land which is all they have and think is legitimately theirs (even though its wrong) but not killing peopl for some hallucination of virgins in an after life which they are not sure of. MAN there is no room for comparison |
ismhab:I hope you know that its only those that finished sec school that write JAMB. So that shows you that the literacy rate between the 2 regions is not comparable. On the issue of exam malpractice its wide spread around the country. FYI Anambra state is one of the very few states that do not offer free basic education but the people still go to school unlike in the north where a whole school may become empty just because students were told to bring #50 for a subsidized textbook. In summary northern Nigeria is one of the most under-developed areas in the whole world. So you have no business referring to Igbos as second class citizens while your people live worse than slaves |
ismhab:BUT i hope you know that the number of people that take and pass JAMB from Anambra state each year far surpass that of any 4 northern regions added together. I dont even want to go into maternal mortality rate of the so called 1st class citizens What about giving birth to children and allowing them roam the streets Or killing your fellow man and expecting god to reward you with 7 virgins. |
Haters, religious bigots and tribalists stop hating. MASSOB is just helping the FG achieve the #97 per litre pump price. If the FG had fully deregulated nobody will disturb them afterall they sold at whatever price before the #97 cap |
No you did. A child that asks his mother not to sleep is also asking himself not to sleep |
@sexlog your picture analysis na 100% accurate |
wow! This is getting interesting. |
@op nobody is withholding you from going on with the protests. |
Eko Ile:And the Yoruba folks are so hardworking, competent, full of self worth and with every sense of belonging. I think you should learn to accommodate other peoples opinion without resorting to insults. I personally was in support of subsidy removal but I didn't call those with other views names |
@op nobody is withholding you from going on with the protests. |
