Medicine has really changed alot of my views about religion.
Among others, it has made me believe that women should be offered contraception and they should have a choice on whether or not to keep their babies.
It has made me see religion as a tool that if not properly utilized, can be used to put people in bondage.
It has made me not see the devil or juju as the cause of most diseases (esp mental diseases). It has made me see some churches, pastors and priests and just being there to milk naive people.

Most importantly, it has strengthened my belief in God. It has made me see God as the reason for my existence. It has given me the utmost reassurance within that God cares about me.
It has made me see medicine as not anti-religion but as a friend to religion

So this thread has finally been posted on the front page.

I don't know how the poll was done and I'm not here to prove its credibility.
But let me ask you which group of people do you think influence elections through their votes? Is it the ICT professionals, professors, those who have access to the internet e.t.c. Or the illiterate almajiris, bread sellers, okada riders e.t.c.
Which group do you think are ready to go out and vote and even fight to protect it just because of #500 or some measures of rice.
Then lastly which groups do you think should ideally consist the sample population in polls like this.

The problem with most of you is that you base your opinion on what you read here forgetting that almost 70% of Nigerians live on less than N160 a day. Do you expect this ones to use their meagre income on internet bundles? The fact is that the majority of the relatively few Nigerians who use the internet, use it for social and entertainment purposes mainly and do not have time for all this talk. This is the major reason why the political situation in NL is very different what goes on in Nigeria

I have been using smartphones since 2004 from Nokia Series 60 to Windows Mobile to iOS and some dabbling with Android. Never have I wanted to save a webpage. if you had said 'save music' or stuff like that I may have conceded a point to you.

I was just reading along and smiling until I saw this. Infact it really drove me insane. Did someone just type this?

1. This is 2012 and its absolutely naive for someone to be making a case supporting the absence of the Bluetooth feature on mobile devices.
Dude did you just mention email? Its like saying one should buy a laptop without wifi cos it has a port for a usb modem.
So if someone sees a picture or song on my phone and wants it, I would have to send it through a mail? In 2012? Man you've got no point here.
I even thought you were referring to NFC support only for you to mention email.

2. Java althoug quite old still comes in handy for me as I've got a few java apps which I use quite often and its a feature I will still like available for the time being.
3. Did you just mention .zip being a niche item?
You've got alot of explaining to do there.
C'mon, my file manager and zip manager come in just as handy. Over 50% of files I download online are in zip format. So you mean I would be unable to use this files on a smartphone or I would have to look for their native formats which are most times unavailable.

In summary, if you're going to make a point for ios, then you should understand that all mobile platforms be it symbian, windows, android e.t.c have their flaws. You don't get any point by trying to deny them. You should rather focus on the high points of your device.

Mind you I'm not in support of android, I just don't like people insulting my intelligence.

The point I want to make is that her reaction to the situation was a very good one and not one of someone who is naive or stvpid, but of someone who is mature.

About the cheating stuff and women, I was speaking in general terms and not isolated cases.

No matter how you paint it, women are wired in a different way from men. Alot of things that cause issues between women are seen as nothing by men and vice versa.
No one is saying they don't get hurt as much, but a combination of their nature, environment, culture, religion and biological factors enable them to let go more easily than in comparison to men.
And you should know that the so called men also stray.
In summary: cheating from either of the spouses is wrong but people should learn to think things over before acting, keeping in mind their intended result and not act based on emotional reflexes.

I don't know what SHE should have done! I can only say what I would possibly do. It's her marriage so it's her decision. Firstly, nowhere did I in favour of her husband. But like I said, an eye for an eye and the world goes blind. I am just not in support of the way you make her look naive and foolish, when to me her response was wonderful.

Me dealing with a cheating wife involves alot of things. First understanding how men and women generally react when cheating. A man may love his wife and home who are perfect and still engage in one or two flings, but when a woman cheats, its usually because she lacks something in that union and she is emotionally drifting away from it.
Secondly, the circumstance under which it occurred and her reason for doing it. Also how long has it been going on, whether its the first time, who is the other man involved e.t.c
I will also look at my ability to move on from the event knowing fully well that women, by their nature find it easier to forgive cheating spouses. Its not that men cannot forgive, but they find it harder dealing with the image of another man on their wife- Its just nature.
So I will have to take alot of things into account.

But I'm still asking, if you were her what would have been your response?

But it got worst b/c he believed that at most he must beg me and pretend as if he was crying and I will still forgive him. This continued till a year and some months of my marriage and I was seriously in pain, heart broken and crying always. I don't know how to double date if not I for have done it and pretend as if all is well. Where it hurt me most was, I know that I am very young, pretty, sexy and very romantic on bed but don't know his problem. Spirituality? It may only help if he really wants to change and has some strength or determination to do that. But as she said, it seems as though the guy is spiritual enough.

Well, my experience with my Bold 4, data is very good and cheap with the BB plan, GPS works perfectly well, I travelled last year to the east and somehow got confused with the road network while driving, I used my BB GPS system to navigate all the way from Umuahia to Onitsha head bridge to find my way to Lagos. While in the east, I took pictures and video of my cousins traditional wedding and sent it to my people in Lagos. With the BB you can do lots of stuff, unless you really don't know what you are doing with it. With BB4, you can attach documents from your memory card and send through your emails account be it yahoo, gmail etc. When I say documents, I mean documents in msword format, Jpeg, excel format etc. Just like your regular emails you run on your laptop.

With your BB4, you can open several web pages without closing anyone for the other, battery life is superb, I charge only once a day.

I phone is also very good, and it is not for children please. I have an Iphone 3gs, it is good.

Abeg, if you don't know what to do with your BB, send it to me, I will pay for shipment.

Everything you wrote above can be done by any good smartphone be it android, symbian, iphone or bb.

I think we've derailed this thread enough.

Firstly, About the features you listed, I would refer you to page 2 where I listed them as the 4 pros of N8 against 11 of 701. So I dont think I should repeat them.

Secondly, About the ram stuff, you should tell that to a complete novice. I think for a start you should handle a 128MB symbian device and compare it to a 1GB android device. You talk too much theory. Even windows phone which has a much better memory management than symbian hardly produce 268MB devices again. And please dont make it look like you have to push N8 to the extreme to notice its deficiencies. Its lagginess is very evident in many simple operations.

Thirdly, the mistake you're making is that you think you're the only one using N8. The phone is quite popular and even has a forum and like I told you (when you came up with your fm radio research), if you have truly handled the 701, then your opinion should not differ greatly from millions of N8 users around the world.

Lastly, I really like the way you magnify minute issues while pushing the major ones behind. I hope the AMOLED screen you are screaming about is not thesame with that found in C7 and 700 (which are both cheaper devices). Like I said earlier, tell that to novices.
I wonder how many people here have used or will ever use the HDMI output. Like I said, I would like to know how you prefer this to the processing power of 701 which is evident from startup to shutdown.

P.S I would like to know if you were serious about getting the screen of 701 for between 2k-3k. I may become your major supplier.

I think we are done with this issue. If you check previous posts you will notice they've been trashed out. But for the purpose of clarity let me point out a few anomalies in your post. BTW we all use Nokia phones and are all huge Nokia fans

1. Price- It costs more simply because it has a nice camera. Just like temmy said that he bought a 12MP cam alone for almost 50k.

2. It seems you've not been into Nokia long enough. That a phone is cheaper does not mean its better. I remember that when N73 came out it was cheaper than some of its predecessors which it was much better than. Also when the E-Series came out, some of their phones within N73s price range were much more better. Also considering Nokias current market position, they are in no mood to offer overpriced expensive phones.
But if you still think N8 is better, them come up with cogent reasons, and not just because its more expensive.

3. I think you've got no idea of what a smartphone is. Its not just a camera man!
So in your line of thought, N8 is better than galaxy s2 and iphone 4s just because its got a better camera.
Mind you not every one is a photographer or fascinated by taking pics. In todays world, a 8mp camera is more than good enough for the average user.

4. If you can argue about the speed and ram of 701, them I think this dialogue is a waste of time.
Speed is a major factor affecting individuals choice when purchasing devices be it pcs or phones.
All I can say is that to illustrate the huge difference, its best you get the two phones and compare.
Imagine someone making a case for a 256MB ram device in 2012. Man wake up! This is not 2005

In summary, if all you've got to say is that N8 is a better phone cos its more expensive and has a better cam, then you shouldn't bother replying. Also, maybe I should remind you we are talking about smartphones and not cameras.
