Its hard to believe these missionaries had ulterior motives considering their history there and their organization back here in the US. But I won't declare them innocent, it is not impossible that heads posing as missionaries can kidnap and sell children. I'm still inclined to believe the whole thing is just a misunderstanding. One things for certain, America will come to the rescue of her citizens in a minute. |
@Dayokanu Whaaaaaaat?? How dare you compare those Champions in the Sampras era to the chumps in the Federer era. If you say this at Oke odo or Oyingbo market they would stone you to death!!! That was when male tennis was the ish! not these buncha amputees Federer keeps facing! Infact based on the quality of opposition Sampras had to face i would not give the G.O.A.T to Federer. Just check the roll call of people Sampras had to contend with Boris 'Boom Boom' Becker (6 time GS winner) Michael Stich (1 GS) Stefan Edberg (6 time GS winner) Michael Chang (1GS) Thomas Muster (1GS) Andre Agassi (8 time GS winner) Richard Kraijcek (1GS) Pat Rafter (1GS) Gustavo Kuerten (3 time GS winner) Yevgeny Kafelnikov (2 GS's) Goran Ivanisevic (1 GS) Shall i continue?? These guys i listed have almost 30GS's between them but what do we have in the Federer era? One hit wonders like Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick. Infact if we add up the total GS's of the top 100 in the ATP rankings aside Fed we would not get 15GS's so don't ever compare both eras! They are light years apart
Yes true the quality of players in this era is not as good as then but have you thought that they perhaps look so weak because Federer is THAT good? Hewitt, Roddick and co woulda had 3-4 themselves had Federer had a bad major showing here and there. Perhaps it is infact a testament to his greatness? not an indictment on an entire generation of players? |
Kai, I'm supposed to be upset today but FedEx has filled my cup to overflowing, sweet sixteeeeennn! oh my bad, this is the NBA thread. lol.Chiogo nor mind these enemies of Celtic progress, he who laughs last go laugh tire . . . they played well, just couldn't snag a win. chiogo:Don't mind that yeye place jare. I went for a music conference that ended up getting cancelled and I had 3 days to pass the time. But gosh I still have nightmares. I will tell that story another time but mehn, on my way back to Logan, I and my boy were "randomly selected" at the airport for "further screening" . . . was very unpleasant being practically strip searched down to the you-know-what. I guess we stood out like the true northerners we are, properly dressed and perfect english . Make sure you take a coat too, the yeye place was even freezing cold self - in march! On day 1 we ran into some half-muslim dude on a bus, he was like "men, what ya'll doing down here in Houston men? ain't nuthin down here men, nuthin here at all", silly us, we shoulda packed and left immediately, we didn't know the boy was prophesying. |
chiogo:A-40 knows we're just chiding Na2day and Ogidi . . . and you don't know how accurate you are when you say there's nothing in Houston, I had the worst 3 days of my life in that yeye city ![]() Yes yes, the energy last night was definitely on point. Really interesting game. Wallace dropping points straight off the bench, I liked that. I guess they lost 'cause they thought they had it already but those yeye magics hit them with a low one.Yeah they didn't execute down the stretch, last 2-3 mins or so. Other than that I thought they played very well. |
There are talks that there are . . . although I saw Eliot Spitzer on MSNBC recently . . . perhaps they hiring his type so Edwards may be in luck ![]() |
Abeg make una leave my president jare you only get to be top gun once (maybe twice) let him milk it and enjoy the time in the sun before it is gone. |

We need hardware son, hardware.chiogo:Lol, losing is a way of life in Dallas so there's no real news there abi? Even our loss was better. *brushing off shoulders* Ok, ATL here we come, step aside haters.Mehn I enjoyed the game though. This was the first time in a long time they played with conviction and attitude, even though they lost I was happy with the effort. Now they must beat ATL, I will make an exception for this reg season game cos they are on the brink of getting swept and that is never okay. They need to show some pride and show up big or else suffer my wrath talkless of the haters in here lol. |

bawomolo:Well I didn't get the sense Bynum was crazy good this year anyways . . . I'll have to pay more attention to the Grizz. Chic2pimp (which kin name be dat self?) there's nuthin to rub in . . . unless a 3rd best record in the league is suddenly a terrible thing Fans of championship teams do not fret over regular season blues, occasional loses and seasonal trials , abegi when playoffs start I will accept any condolences. For valentines day 2day don't need ta worry . . . Roger Federer is already taking care of that #16 baby, #16! |
Lol, some of you are just waiting for the C'ss to lose so you can come and spill the hatorade ya'll constantly sipping on - if only you put this much effort into supporting your teams only giants are hated, no one talks about mice like D and C . I thought that was a very well played game by the Celtics, the best game they've played in the last 10 or so. Yeah they lost cos they couldn't execute in the last 2-3 mins or so, but I was very happy with the way they played. None of you were here smacking when we destroyed them on christmas day on the road with only half of our team. Yeye people.bawomolo:Yeah right. Did you not hear him last week say he is not going to give up the starting spot that it would be a disrespect to the fans that voted him in. H2O2:Yeah I'm suprised too. I don't know Randolf's numbers this season, they must be good. |
One mo' Fedex, one mo'.
Hahaha Jesoul i hope you have some belligerent insurance! Money cannot buy happiness oh lol |
g1: na real expiration . ps. I will wait for your thread/story . . . don't take too long oh or else I'll open one for you ![]() Deep Sight:Deep to tha sight! happy new year to you sir. I pray this be a year filled with joy and dreams come true for you. I have been enjoying behind the scenes your many conversations with Maven and Nuclearboy lol. I dunno how you guys do it day in day out Well let me also say that it might be that Seun thinks that having the separat section for Islam is also a way of showing up just how intolerant the Islamists are. He has played a practical joke on them all this while! ! !hehe, nice one, I didn't think of it thatta way. |
g1:hmm the guy was serious oh, we were all witnesses. I'm sure you know one cannot play around when it comes to foot soldiers of allah. Seun informed us all at the time and explained why he was doing what he was doing. Since then I no blame the guy at all. |
g1:Oh dear, this story will be very very interesting! I must say though, where did you get the idea that "anyone who is not a christian will burn in hellfire no matter what"? The bible says many things about salvation, but my dear it certainly doesn't say that.on a final note JeSoul, i just think some of us are just not wired to believe, i just cant bring my self to believe in virgin births, angels and demons, heavens and hell, but like i said if it gives some people peace then thats fine by me, hope u understand my worldview now?Or maybe some of us are just wired different? we all take different paths, go through different experiences, what may work for me, may not for you. But I do believe the knowledge of God is inherent in all of us - its when we struggle with questions and life we begin to doubt and deliberately strip ourselves of that knowledge. . . . anyways we go talk more lol. |
Deep Sight:Oga all this went out the window when one of them threatened Seun with Fatwah 2yrs ago I think. One cannot blame him for trying to protect himself and his own. |
g1:Not only are you welcome, I will appreciate your input brother ![]() though i am atheist(exmuslim) now i can see what you are getting at after studying your post, i guess you are saying everything happens for a purpose and god has a plan , just like when i lost my dad many years ago(then i was a muslim), i said to my self god has a reason for taking him from me and he was in a better place, or anytime something bad happened to a friend of mine i consoled them by telling them that god has a grand plan and he knows best, in other words i always tried to make the best of a bad situation (i still do), so i guess what you are trying to say is that in the midst of destruction we can always pick out some good, ?, am i right? is this what you are getting at?1000% right brother, 1000%. Thank for for sharing that little bit about yourself and your family. I'm sorry you lost your dad, and I'm glad that you were able to reason and feel that way in spite of the pain that everything would work out fine. There's a scripture that says this "And we know that everything works together for the good of them that love Him". And it simply means that in spite of all the good and bad things that may happen in the life of a christian, God is still in control of their lives and future, and He will use those good and bad things to work together to an end that will benefit the christian. This is not far off from what you said above, about "everything happens for a reason". While I don't really rationalize every tragedy I experience that way, I view it as "even in spite of this terrible thing, God will still use it to bring about good". The earthquake was a terrible disaster, so many are still left in that situation now, homeless and hopeless. But even in the chaos, even in our darkest times, God's providence still occurs, which is the point I was trying to get with the story. God doesn't save everyone, He doesn't answer every prayer, but when He chooses to act, I pray we be able to recognize it and understand it and be touched by it. As an offtopic, I am curious as to your journey away from islam to atheism. Care to share it on a new thread? I'd love to hear the story. |
G1, nnnnnooooooooooooooooo bro! lol this is a horse that has been flogged, resurrected and flogged again numerous time. The NL powers-dat-be are not willing to create any more sub-forums or child boards (as much as I'd like the space). But frankly, if people were simply respectful of others/threads/discussions and followed the forum rules, we wouldn't need seperate sections. |
chic2pimp:Siddon. Its called strategy, player. Everyone knows Howard has trouble staying in the game and out of foul trouble. Any coach would be foolish not to exploit that weakness. |
Of two minds about seeing this Disney Princess and the Frog. All these years in a multiracial society and now they deign to issue a black princess? Annoying.
Black, blue or green princess, na dem sabi. We black folks should look past the cursory mess that is hollywood, if we were making our own movies of top notch quality we wouldn't be needing others to acknowledge our presence in their flicks. spikedcylinder:I knew there was a preacher deep down in there just waiting for an opportunity to get out. Don't hold it back now, don't worry, we will support you ahunnit100%. |

justkunmi:Twas.a.free.and.fair.selection.oh. I'm not going to see that imposter that is "Sherlock Holmes". Unless enough reviews testify it still has some of its legend from the books. |
Pastor AIO:Looks like it worked for you I can think of a few NLders who could use some o'dat . . . starting with the OP. gosh I miss naija |
If he goes to SA, then Lakers too along with Dallas and co should be very afraid. Celtics - Magic tonight. If we can get 2 fouls on Howard in the 1Q and get him to sit, its game over. Unless those suckers shoot >45% from 3pt territory. You never know when they'll be on. |
^lol. Well, Venus was my choice, but I'lll settle for her belligerent little sister. Anybody but Henin |
