Foreign AffairsRe: Many Americans Arrested For Kidnapping Haiti Children by JeSoul(f): 4:03pm On Feb 01, 2010
Its hard to believe these missionaries had ulterior motives considering their history there and their organization back here in the US. But I won't declare them innocent, it is not impossible that heads posing as missionaries can kidnap and sell children.

I'm still inclined to believe the whole thing is just a misunderstanding. One things for certain, America will come to the rescue of her citizens in a minute.

Whaaaaaaat?? How dare you compare those Champions in the Sampras era to the chumps in the Federer era. If you say this at Oke odo or Oyingbo market they would stone you to death!!! That was when male tennis was the ish! not these buncha amputees Federer keeps facing! Infact based on the quality of opposition Sampras had to face i would not give the G.O.A.T to Federer. Just check the roll call of people Sampras had to contend with

Boris 'Boom Boom' Becker (6 time GS winner)
Michael Stich (1 GS)
Stefan Edberg (6 time GS winner)
Michael Chang (1GS)
Thomas Muster (1GS)
Andre Agassi (8 time GS winner)
Richard Kraijcek (1GS)
Pat Rafter (1GS)
Gustavo Kuerten (3 time GS winner)
Yevgeny Kafelnikov (2 GS's)
Goran Ivanisevic (1 GS)

Shall i continue?? These guys i listed have almost 30GS's between them but what do we have in the Federer era? One hit wonders like Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick. Infact if we add up the total GS's of the top 100 in the ATP rankings aside Fed we would not get 15GS's so don't ever compare both eras! They are light years apart
Yes true the quality of players in this era is not as good as then but have you thought that they perhaps look so weak because Federer is THAT good? Hewitt, Roddick and co woulda had 3-4 themselves had Federer had a bad major showing here and there. Perhaps it is infact a testament to his greatness? not an indictment on an entire generation of players?

Don't mind that yeye place jare. I went for a music conference that ended up getting cancelled and I had 3 days to pass the time. But gosh I still have nightmares. I will tell that story another time but mehn, on my way back to Logan, I and my boy were "randomly selected" at the airport for "further screening" . . .  angry was very unpleasant being practically strip searched down to the you-know-what. I guess we stood out like the true northerners we are, properly dressed and perfect english tongue. Make sure you take a coat too, the yeye place was even freezing cold self - in march! On day 1 we ran into some half-muslim dude on a bus, he was like "men, what ya'll doing down here in Houston men? ain't nuthin down here men, nuthin here at all", silly us, we shoulda packed and left immediately, we didn't know the boy was prophesying.

A-40 knows we're just chiding Na2day and Ogidi . . . and you don't know how accurate you are when you say there's nothing in Houston, I had the worst 3 days of my life in that yeye city angry

Yes yes, the energy last night was definitely on point. Really interesting game. Wallace dropping points straight off the bench, I liked that. I guess they lost 'cause they thought they had it already but those yeye magics hit them with a low one. grin
Yeah they didn't execute down the stretch, last 2-3 mins or so. Other than that I thought they played very well.

Mehn I enjoyed the game though. This was the first time in a long time they played with conviction and attitude, even though they lost I was happy with the effort.

Now they must beat ATL, I will make an exception for this reg season game cos they are on the brink of getting swept and that is never okay. They need to show some pride and show up big or else suffer my wrath talkless of the haters in here lol.

I thought that was a very well played game by the Celtics, the best game they've played in the last 10 or so. Yeah they lost cos they couldn't execute in the last 2-3 mins or so, but I was very happy with the way they played. None of you were here smacking when we destroyed them on christmas day on the road with only half of our team. Yeye people.

bawomolo:
by the way, derrick rose made the all-star reserve.  allen iverson should do the right thing and let this man start in place of him. agbaya.
Yeah right. Did you not hear him last week say he is not going to give up the starting spot that it would be a disrespect to the fans that voted him in.

grin grin grin I can't believe Zach Randolph got the nod over Andrew Bynum.

Pau Gasol is listed as a Center, even though he actually plays the forward position on our team.

They slide Pau to Center to make room from Zach at th Forward spot, w hereas it should have been Pau at the Forward Spot alongside Dunkin, followed by Amare' and Drew at the center spots.
Yeah I'm suprised too. I don't know Randolf's numbers this season, they must be good.

g1:
yeah i hope to relay a full account of my journey to atheism soon, it was a very long one , but i can give u a little bit of it before i write a full report of it, first of all i guess it was a series of doubts about everything religion stands for, like for example one of my doubts was about the issue of hell, i couldnt understand why anyone who is not a muslim no matter how good they were will burn for ever and ever and as i understand same goes for christianity( everyone who is not christian will burn no matter how good they were), these and other issues about religion led me to atheism, i hope to relay a full story of my deconversion soon,
Oh dear, this story will be very very interesting! smiley I must say though, where did you get the idea that "anyone who is not a christian will burn in hellfire no matter what"? The bible says many things about salvation, but my dear it certainly doesn't say that.

on a final note JeSoul, i just think some of us are just not wired to believe, i just cant bring my self to believe in virgin births, angels and demons, heavens and hell, but like i said if it gives some people peace then thats fine by me, hope u understand my worldview now?
Or maybe some of us are just wired different? we all take different paths, go through different experiences, what may work for me, may not for you. But I do believe the knowledge of God is inherent in all of us - its when we struggle with questions and life we begin to doubt and deliberately strip ourselves of that knowledge.

. . . anyways we go talk more lol.

Having a separate Child-board for Islam and none for Christianity on a public forum in a bi-polar religious country such as ours is nothing short of discrimination on religious grounds which is contrary to the spirit of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and breaches the African Charter on Human and People's rights.
Oga all this went out the window when one of them threatened Seun with Fatwah 2yrs ago I think. One cannot blame him for trying to protect himself and his own.

Hi Jesoul, since you said we can comment as long as we are civil, so i just thought i get involved in your discussion since i used to be a theist if you dont mind, if you mind me joining in then please let me know and i will back off
Not only are you welcome, I will appreciate your input brother  smiley

though i am atheist(exmuslim) now i can see what you are getting at after studying your post, i guess you are saying everything happens for a purpose and god has a plan , just like when i lost my dad many years ago(then i was a muslim), i said to my self god has a reason for taking him from me and he was in a better place, or anytime something bad happened to a friend of mine i consoled them by telling them that god has a grand plan and he knows best, in other words i always tried to make the best of a bad situation (i still do), so i guess what you are trying to say is that in the midst of destruction we can always pick out some good, ?, am i right? is this what you are getting at?
holla back
1000% right brother, 1000%.

Thank for for sharing that little bit about yourself and your family. I'm sorry you lost your dad, and I'm glad that you were able to reason and feel that way in spite of the pain that everything would work out fine.

There's a scripture that says this "And we know that everything works together for the good of them that love Him". And it simply means that in spite of all the good and bad things that may happen in the life of a christian, God is still in control of their lives and future, and He will use those good and bad things to work together to an end that will benefit the christian.

This is not far off from what you said above, about "everything happens for a reason". While I don't really rationalize every tragedy I experience that way, I view it as "even in spite of this terrible thing, God will still use it to bring about good". The earthquake was a terrible disaster, so many are still left in that situation now, homeless and hopeless. But even in the chaos, even in our darkest times, God's providence still occurs, which is the point I was trying to get with the story. God doesn't save everyone, He doesn't answer every prayer, but when He chooses to act, I pray we be able to recognize it and understand it and be touched by it.

As an offtopic, I am curious as to your journey away from islam to atheism. Care to share it on a new thread? I'd love to hear the story.
