Haven't we talked about Law Abiding citizen at least twice? or maybe it was the other thread? I haven't seen IG or Ninja assasin. |
Hmm interesting. But many unanswered questions: GTay:So, if the rice is NOT genetically modified, why do they say their scientists have "developed" this new rice? What modifications, process changes or anything was done to make the rice what it is now? or does it occur naturally and they're proving soaking alone is sufficient to 'cook it'? then why the "developed" line? please educate me. GTay:I wish they were more specific on this. How does the nutritional value of this new rice stack up against the others? These "biochemical parameters", how similar/different are they from the usual rice? What are the long term effects of consumption of this rice? Have they conducted a study to observe the effects? What is the shelf life of the rice? same as the others? |
chukwudi44:Which one be gift of bilocation and levitation again? oga Chuks, where are those in the scriptures? |
Tweetie:Hmm, okay. What/who do we believe? |
JeSoul:Wait a sec . . . Fadele, has directed all the parishes in the continent to take a special offering on Sunday to replace the $50,000 donated by the church. If this is true, then I withdraw my first post and encourage the critics to carry on in full force. |
dear brethren, you guys know that I worship the God of Abraham,Isaac,Jacob & Pres-Elect . . if that is your God too, then we are on the same side religiously at least . . .
That is my God oh! my only God ![]() anyway, about the elections, not sure if i care anymore. but i know God says in the Bible when the guy given one talent failed to use it, it will be taken from him and given to another. God gave the democrats 60 senate votes and house control as well as white house, the bomboclaats used three months to discuss olympia snowe, after which they did not get her vote in december. so i dont know what else to say. if the democrats struggle for masachusettes, the bluest state . . . na wa oI happen to think that the best scenario for democracy is to have equal representation of both parties - not one having the majority. I think the best policies and legislation are those borne out of honest and genuine debate, collaboration and compromise - not a dictatorship of only one viewpoint. So I do hope enough good democrats are left after the mid-elections to keep the leadership balanced. |
JeSoul, have you watched FOX lately? . . .hold on, let me re-phrase the question. Have you seen what FOX is doing with Sarah Palin? This week alone she has appeared on O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity. It was strategic!! Trust me. . .Palin has become what Gingrich was in the 1994 REpublican strategy, the KINGMAKER! She never needs to campaign for a candidate or explicitly endorse one, she only needs to show up on tv and speak the conservative code for communicating approval of a running politician and that would seal their fate. She has repeatedly said she is watching the MA election and is proud of the TeaBaggers. That, . . .is the code! The spike in poll in favor of Brown is not isolated. Anyone wanting to predict outcome of the election? Follow Palin!
Hmm, interesting. I hadn't tied the timing of her appearance on Fox to the Senate race. You may very well be right it was all planned, and if it was, it is working! lol I guess this is what the Liberals feared and hence all the efforts to discredit her. On a separate issue, in another of your neighborhood state to the South. . .what do you think of Harrold Ford's hint to run against Gillibrand for the New York seat in Senate? He is a carpetbagger, not a teabagger. . .lmao! Now, there are light skinned folks that arre humble and do not allow the kind of political privilege and crowning Harry Reid recently praised on Obama to get in their head. . .they carry their person with humility and modesty. Not Harrold! Harrold Ford is the opposite of that, in fact. . .the mothrfkr goes around pimping his lightskin and fine hair to the plantation owner, so to speak! I hope he runs and I hope he loses as woeful as he did when he ran in Tennessee.I haven't really paid it much attention to be honest. Carpetbagger? lol if he indeed is milking his skin color for what its worth then that is indeed shameful. |
Mariory:Lol and a milkshake too? |
[s]the lad has suffered enough already with that useless recurring injury Its only fair he retains his crown. . . [/s] VAMOS you're welcome. |
I don't understand what the beef is. If they didn't donate people will criticize They donated $50 grand people are criticizing If they donate $1 million people will still criticize why it wasn't $2 million - Even a career theif condemnd for each crime should be applauded when he does a good act. RCCG donated and that was good. I'm certainly no fan of them, but we should no let our antagonism towards the church blind us from being objective. |
FOD:Lol shreikapova I flashed the match last night, tuned out and went to watch Jack Bauer. I woulda stayed a bit if I knew she was gonna get a spanking. |
at all the games this weekend. Not suprised at the Cowboys, but SD? Ravens barely putting up a fight? I hope the omen is better for next week. Saints are now my adopted team but seeing my choices have been dropping out, I better go with the Colts ![]() |
Anyone who isn't as smart or articulate as all the gurus on this thread, I propose a very easy, simple, fun way for us laymen to understand faith: watch the new movie just out called "The Book of Eli". Talk about a very simple, yet powerful movie. So many biblical parallels and concepts are captured in cinematic fashion. You will be entertained and blessed. Not to give away any spoilers but quik teaser: Post-apocalyptic earth, young girl, uneducated, born in recent times who never knew the former world Girl to Denzel: So how do know you're supposed to go west? Denzel: "I just know" Girl: "How do you just know?" Denzel: "By faith" Girl: (confused) "what is faith?" Denzel: "its something you know even though you don't know" go watch the movie for the rest of the conversation, its deep like dat yet shallow enough to be grasped by the average joe. |
I wonder why nobody has touched this yet? Ndipe, you're right. It never made sense to me. Here in America we give to charity/churches, only to get it back on our tax refunds. The donations people are giving to Haiti now, some can get it back, donations to the Salvation army (be it money, clothes, cars etc) you can get it back. Is it really giving if your mind is fixed on getting it back through the government? I signed up once for it at my church. When I got the paper in the mail at the end of the year I said to myself, is this really giving? I tore it up and cancelled my name off the list. |
the only part I was interested in was the bottom that reads: "If you need a ride to the polls please call 800-485-0444" though I live practically down the street from city hall, I may take them up on that offer ![]() Coakley is really pulling out all the stops and tricks. If Brown can pull this off, it will be an upset of upsets. One more thing, Coakley's source for saying Brown will "ship jobs out" is there in the fineprint if you all can super zoom in to see it. Its the Umass students magazine a student magazine?

Oh by the way, I got these in the mail yesterday and today when I got home from work.
@JeSoul, You better mind yourself o. I bind that siddon look attitude in Jesus' name. Better go out there and vote for Brown before I disown you finally. Do you know how much fear of God will be instilled in those politicians in Washington if Brown can somehow pull this off? You got the power girl, go use it.
Uncle Tayo! I was just tired of the whole thing jare. 2 weeks ago I wasn't going to bother, but the debate really changed my mind. Brown doesn't seem so bad afterall. And now that the polls indicate mass zombies may be ready to break the cycle, it makes things more interesting.By the way, the latest poll shows that Brown is up by 4% against Coakley. All well and good because my money must not go to waste. If my memory serves me correctly, this will be the first time ever I will be making any financial donations to any political party or candidate. I sent $50 to the Tea Party Express in support of Brown. I understand the guy is raking in like $1 million/day.Lol. I heard he got donations from 40+ states, 40. I didn't know my uncle Tayo was among them lol. Oh God of TayoD, JeSoul and (not sure if I should include pres-elect)Lol, I'm sure Prez can make an exception this time. Right Prez boy? |
The most recent polls released today has Dem Coakley deadlocked with Rep Brown. I wasn't going to bother about this election for two reasons: 1. No where else does your vote not matter than in massachusetts. Unlike our enlightened neighbors up in NH, the blue zombies almost always vote democrat. 2. I heard a short interview of Brown the rep candidate, dude was asked a very simple question about the budget - twice and the sucker could not give a straight answer. I figured if this is all the reps have to offer, I'm better off staying home. But I watched the debate earlier this week, when asked a question (I forget now) he answers "with all due respect, this is not the kennedy seat, this is not the democrat seat, it's the people's seat". Lol, that response I think rocketed him up in the minds of countless viewers. I said to myself, looks like the sucker does have some teeth afterall. I still think Coakley will win despite the tightness of the polls, if there's anything we are up here political-wise, it's predictable. |
Kai, people are really venting ![]() obinna5000:Well, we know of at least two people who will watch it religiously. Emmerich himself and his mama. |
Resurrected! ![]() so . . . whatever happened with this tree? PastorAIO? |
davidylan:David this is out of order now you do not know the heart behind those giving here. |
FLT123:Lemme help Toney here, the answer is No. He's an atheist. |
No2A lol 'ppreciate the defense bro. Renz:Lol, I told you what I meant, I took the trouble to highlight what I meant, even my words in the original post and subsequent posts clearly show what I meant - but yet you want to still insist I meant something else? Well, you're certainly entitled to insist what you will. No wahala at all.I knew some people would not get the sarcasm and play on words but this many? ![]() |
toneyb:Toney what jesoul thinks about the spiritual climate of Haiti is irrelevant now and forever. I asked a practical question and you gave a very good practical response. That is really the bottomline, not what Robertson or any other loon has to say. FLT123:And what do you think is this bigger problem? can it be solved? |
hehe so this is where all the action is ![]() Now to all, I think giving to the Haitians at this point should be encouraged and we should all do the little that we can to help. This is the human thing to do, help your neighbor as best you can and it is laudable esp to Platinumk, keep it up! Now that being said, the problem with doing that is that the aid will arrive, be distributed to the survivors, and then once the dust has settled the aid will stop and Haiti will be right back in the same terrible or even worse conditions it was in. And even the aid money does not always make it down to the streets, if there is corruption on top, the money will stop up there and hence all our efforts would have been in vain. As tough and perhaps "heartless" as it may sound, I do agree that now (after the immediate relief efforts to save/help/provide for survivors of course) is the time with Haiti being on the world stage to demand the re-building leaves out the corporate structure of corruption and ignorance that has crippled that nation. They must now with this tragedy begin to look inwards as a nation and address why they are the poorest in the western hemisphere, without infrastructure, functioning hospitals, schools etc. There is no excuse for them to be in such a condition esp as their dominican neighbors thrive on virtually the same soil. David is raising some very good points (albeit in his typical harsh manner that he is known and even loved for here on NL). Let us try to look past the sensationalistic and strong emotions this tragedy has drummed up in us and see that all our aid will only be temporary and could be in vain, if this opportunity is not used to lift Haiti out of the dust it has been in for over 200yrs. Cheers! |
I dunno why people are all up in arms over Robertson. Are you people still taking anything he says seriously? it has long been established the guy has serious issues so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Anyways one post on this thread caught my attention and lured me in: FLT123:Excellent points! Why haven't we all been wondering (instead of diverting our passionate fire towards Robertson) what is wrong with Haiti? What are the practical, economic, tangible reasons why they are still living in the dark ages? |
spikedcylinder:Lol . . . JK you should try to work out whatever problems you and madam may be having instead of throwing in the towel ![]() That's what long distance does to you sometimes.Eya, hope the time flies by fast then. And your colleague does not develop any new crushes in the mean time ![]() |
justkunmi:Thandie is the new flavor of the month? I see your divorce from Megan Fox is getting close to being finalized? ![]() spikedcylinder:Spiked, the 3rd wheel? where was oga now? |
I managed about 2 minutes of that unintelligent rant from whatever his name is. Yes Pat Robertson is a loon, na2day? I wonder where all this passion and fire and disgust and uprising has been since Haiti has been wallowing in poverty and insignificance. Black people, we know how to scream bloody murder when we're insulted, if only we can do the same when we insult ourselves by putting up with corrupt governments made up by our own people. But soon as the white man say something off, we go nuts and organize rallies and demonstrations. Sad. |
