It seems cheese is the default ingredient in every dish  angry
At pretty much every restaurant I have to tell them to leave out the cheese becos it comes standard. 90% of the time I specifically ask for no cheese someone still manages to include it.

Order an entree? cheese it the glue that holds it together
Order a sandwich? it comes pre-made with cheese
Order bread? it has cheese melted inside of it
Order dessert? its layers are made of cheese
Order pizza? well its almost completely made of cheese

The only cheese I can stand is Mozarella and that's only becos it has mostly no taste or smell. American cheese is the worst, digusting, nasty, slimey, putrid, yellowish goo - eeewww tongue Please if you despise cheese sign in below  kiss

Ariza is going to be out the door on his way to whomever is the highest bidder - as long as its not the bobcats smiley. He has his championship under his belt, he is not a kobe or Lebron who wants to win as many as possible. He like every other non-superstar simply wants to get paid - and ain't nuthin wrong with that.

Rumors rumors . . . When all is said and done the Celtics will return with the same starting five for next season - and you can take that to the bank. Doc Rivers said just a week ago that the management is fine with the core team . . . we just need bench help with Leon Powe out till mid-season. Re-signing BigBaby is a MUST!!! and probably Eddie House too. Mikki Moore can carry go.

Both Rajon and Ray are not free until next summer and who are the Celtics about to give up the point guard of at least the next 7yrs up for in Sac-town? Ray is clutch but falls short atimes, I will not be too sad to see him leave, he is not irreplaceable.

I've never had such a terrible day in my 3 years working in finance. Men things must be really tough financially in LA . . . .

http://www.nba.com/2009/playoffs2009/06/15/finals.parade.ap/index.html

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers will get their victory parade, but they'll have to help pay for it.

City officials say the parade set for Wednesday will run from the Staples Center to a rally at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Lakers and the city will kick in about $1 million apiece for the party.

Critics including the police union complained that the cash-strapped city should not be putting money toward the Lakers in the light of looming layoffs, worker furloughs and hiring freezes, and there was speculation that no parade would be held.

The Lakers beat the Orlando Magic on Sunday to win their 15th NBA title and first in seven years.
Na wa oh. The governator has run that state into the ground . . .

So is Ill-gus-gus.
And I don't think it was so much the speed of the Magic, it was moreso the supporting cast performing a disappearing act when it mattered the most and Orlando shooting a ridiculous - and eventually unsustainable - percentage from behind the arc. Cleveland needs to snag up dependable veteran players that can support Lebron.

As long as the Cavs don't give up too much not that there's much to give up in the first place, they will be better with Shaq than Ilgauskas.

Sadly so, even if the 'evidence' doesn't stand up to scrutiny as ILO was trying to prove.
And lack of evidence will neither slow nor deter them . . . it is already the polticially correct thing to do to accept and support gays. And even for myself (and other christians) one huge danger is becoming desensitized to it as gay 'sightings' have become a common occurence in public places. I was at the hair store yday and this dude with painted nails and earings and tight jeans was boldly trying on wigs shocked undecided only few people gave him a second look.

I am tempted to explore the bold part in more detail. But I digress. grin Like you said, having never personally been in that position, it's difficult for me to comprehend (or separate) the thoughts from the actions in principle. I see attraction to females as a 'basic'/natural reaction that 'confirms' my heterosexuality, before even thinking about whether it is lustful or appropriate. This is when I'd like to hear the views of someone who has struggled with this and overcome.
hehe cheesy digressions are not only welcome, they are encouraged kiss.
There's an acquaintance of mine - a female artist/rapper - who was gay for 10yrs before becoming a christian. Prior to that she was raped and was also into prostitution. Her testimony is powerful! If you have a few minutes check it out here on website, click on under "Intresting Stuff - My testimony" and play the audio file. She speaks to so many of the issues we talk about here - still struggling with the homosexual thots daily etc.
http://thecfrn.com/osnap/about.html
Also anyone else reading this you will be blessed if you listen to that testimony

It is an unpopular sin to struggle with. Some sins like adultery are actually celebrated, depending on where you are.
Gbam, gbam and gbam!!! A friend was lamenting just the other day how her uncle divorced his wife and got married again in a month shocked and no one condemned him but God help you if you are gay, the rejection and castigation you will face . . .

That is the bare faced truth. I wish more of our brethren would recognise this and show sensitivity/compassion instead of the strident condemnation that seems to be the primary message out there.
Amen and amen. It is a charge indeed to all of us christians to follow the example of Jesus compassion and that it could've been us in their shoes.

It is not just about naija churches but the whole concept of instituitionalized christianity that is clearly unscriptural.
I agree largely with you but don't you believe that there needs to be some form of structure in the "church" that bears some semblance to an 'institution'?

What I mean is the bible talks about selecting Deacons as "leaders in the church" and the coming together and orderly worship and with the case of dispersing of funds to the widows etc. The gifts of spirit - particularly that of administration -  indicates to me on some level that the church even though it is "us" and not the buildings, needs to be structured and organized.

Today most churches especially pentecostal ones break away or are started for financial reasons or money making ventures. You would be shocked what you would discover if you get involved in church politics or get close to it's leadership.
lol . . . I am shocked by few things. I do wholeheartedly agree that a good chunk of churches in the "pentecostal movement" were started by wolves in pastors clothing who are only out to make money - there is no doubt about that.

But please permit me to add that I've been to many many churches (I'm a musician and get to go to many churches) and I've seen everything from money extracting businesses parading as churches to the most warm genuinue and kind hearted, christ-driven people doing the Lord's work in peace and humility.

What I'm saying is this: I don't feel bad or down or depressed about the state of the "church" of Christ, becos what people are calling the church of Christ is not the church. The real, genuine church is out there, doing exploits and loving people and following the Lord with total devotion. These people I focus on and draw inspiration from. They are all around us hidden in the open.

I agree with your submissions above in the fact that it is necessary for beleivers to gather together and fellowship. however what is going on in the churches today is a marked departure from what the apostles taught and practised. As i said i would still fellowship with beleivers but it would be hypocritical of me to continue attending churches that i believe their practises are contrary to the teachings in the bible. In the early church they shared and discussed the word every man was allowed to talk and ask questions it was a real fellowship but today you must just accept what the pastor says whether he is wrong or right you are not even allowed to ask questions or disagree with a pastor's doctrine. Also the early church always shared meals when they met but today our churches are only interested in collecting our money. the early church attended to the material needs of their brethen but today's churches cannot be bothered they would just tell you to go and pray whilst the church leadership spends the church's money on their own excesses. I can gone on and on but then,
@All and @Poster,
I'm no expert on the state of churches in Nigeria as I've been gone a long time, but is this really how majority (at least 90%) of churches are in Naija?
Christianity EtcRe: Could It Really Be That A Person Can Be Born Gay? by JeSoul(op): 3:23pm On Jun 10, 2009
debosky:
That is my belief as well, but the passion with which this is apparently fought (as against other sins such as lying, fornication and the like) makes me think there needs to be conclusive 'evidence' as it were to close this out.
I hear you mr brother, these people are zealous! and I think we can safely say they will only garner even more momentum as time passes.

So you believe it's this 'embracing' it that makes you gay not necessarily the 'feeling' itself?
Yeah, embracing it and throwing oneself entirely into it - I believe that's a different category from another person who's genuinely struggling with the thots but still resisting & refusing to partake of the act.

I don't know about you ladies, but us men can feel instant attraction (or arousal grin) towards a woman we see - this isn't a decision per se, but a 'natural reaction'. It's this type of occurrence I was seeking to talk about. What defines one truly as homosexual or heterosexual?
hehe  cheesy so I've heard  wink . . .  and uhmm it's like that for women too - sometimes  kiss
Feeling instant attraction isn't wrong, not in my view. Its what you do with the thots thereafter that makes it either sinful or not. For instance I see your picture and say to myself he's drop dead handsome  smiley but then move on and don't dwell on the thots - perfectly natural reaction. But if I begin to entertain and dive into lustful thots then it is sin.

I also agree with the power of delusion, but somehow I worry it might not be that clear cut. Some people genuinely (as far as I know anyways) feel a deep conflict about their sexuality and even gender. When you term it as wrong, is it something they have committed themselves or is simply thrust upon them by no choice of theirs (e.g as part of the sinful nature)
You're right in that few things are ever completely 'clear cut'. To me feeling a conflict about it is a sign that their conscience doing its job. That's why now I feel sorry more than anything for those of homosexual persuation. That they happened to be the unfortunate ones to struggle with this unpopular sin - whether by choice or not or thru no 'fault' of theirs.
But my brother you know what the bible says: "All have sinned" and "there is not one righteous" Adam and eve made us all guilty and we're all suffering the consequences - especially our gay brethren.

debosky:
I agree with you on this, but maybe I wasn't clear - many people regard their sexuality as a defining part of their character, of whom they are as it were, similar to their gender. Now in this case, how can something regarded as 'intrinsic' to who you are be something you 'choose'?
I would say as sincere as they might feel, we know from the bible that they are wrong. That's really what it comes down to for us christians isn't it?

This is not in doubt when the urge is regarded as 'unnatural' to the person involved. Basically what I am saying is, I will never feel the urge to resist my heterosexuality as I believe that is normal. Can it also be the same for homosexuals?
It very well could be and probably is for many of them. But then again, you can believe something with all your heart and soul and mind, but still be dead wrong.

Is it the ACT itself that makes one homosexual or hetero or is it the desire or 'natural leaning' as some gays claim it is?
While I would say in general acting on the desires is in essense committing the sin - same as with many other sins. However I'll add Jesus said all you need do is look lustfully on another and you'd be guilty of sin. Many people struggle with the sin and resist, others embrace it wholeheartedly - this latter set in my mind is what makes one homosexual.

I agree with you on this, especially in the case of someone as Ted Haggart who felt his own case as a temptation pushing him away from the natural form of heterosexuality. My question really about those individuals who claim to have never had sexual desire towards the opposite sex and regard homosexuality as their 'default' or 'primary' state which cannot be 'separated'. Is there something to this or have they simply deluded themselves to the point that they insist it is their natural state?
lol, I lean heavily on the side of the "delusion"  smiley I recall one time I was arguing with my elder brother about a scene in a cartoon. He said "A" happened and I said no "B" happened. Infact I was so sure and 100% certain and was fully convinced in my mind far beyond a shadow of doubt. We watched the video and yup, I was dead wrong.

Another time I had to take lessons for school when I much younger which I hated. I lied to my mum it started at 5pm instead 4 so I'd get there late and miss the boring class. I repeated the lie a few times before the day came that eventually it became real to me. The day finally arrived and I walked into the class, I was genuinely shocked that they had already started, infact it took a few minutes before I realized & remembered I lied & the lie had become real and true to me - and I never forgot it. Infact taking psychology in college there was a section on this very phenomenon, were we convince ourselves of things that never happened.

So the point of the anecdotal diversion above is that while I know nuthin of what its like to walk in the shoes of a gay person, this I know, that you can be sincere, but be sincerely wrong. And that their lifestyle choice is wrong, regardless of how convinced they are it was the way they were created. They could've felt this way forever, or deluded themselves into it - doesn't matter, they're still wrong.

Let us explore this further - you state that a choice is made. Now some homosexuals say they would actually wish they were hetero but find that they are simply not, with no attraction to members of the opposite sex. Can such an apparently 'compelling' or 'basic' drive (as some homosexuals state it is) be regarded as a choice?
Yes it most definitely can. While I will not presume to know what & how gays feel nor the degree of the intensity of those feelings, it doesn't alter the fact they still choose to act on those intense feelings.

Its one thing to have urges of even the most consuming kind, and it is another to give in to them. And I do submit and appreciate that these people were probably unable to resist of their own strength and I don't hold that against them. The way I see it, its only by the strength of the Holy Spirit any sin can be conquered so it is expected that they will fail in trying to overcome it by their own power.

I am slightly uneasy about the comparison with lying, murder, fornication and the like, because, under certain circumstances, those actions could be regarded as 'necessary' for survival (e.g war, threat of death or what not).
Those 'necessary' circumstances are not under dispute my brotha. I was refering to the habitual practice of those sins.

Cases of homosexuality in prison or other single gender environments can be described as being such, but what about people who have never been exposed to such 'abnormal' environments yet feel a 'compelling' urge to be gay?
I would attribute those urges to the sinful nature. If we all have it, then we all will struggle at the feet of some particular sins - unfortunately theirs happens to be the very unpopular homosexuality.

@JeSoul

Those terms sin, spirit, soul are meaningless juridically speaking. How are you supposed to convince the law with those religious fantasies? There is no objectivity. You are all full of prejudices. There is no grey. It's either black or white.

How can you cope with this world? You must be going crazy with the changes that are happening.
lol . . .  smiley  nah my dear, the peace of God that surpasses all understanding keeps me in perfect peace in spite of the downward spiral of this world. The bible teaches us things will get worse so there is really no suprise or shock. I just live my life and let others live theirs. On the last day we all gon' see wassup.

And I certainly don't expect secular governments to abide by spiritual and religious tenets . . . I was simply looking for a better understanding - from a christian point of view - on the issue.
