Go and read the whole book of Paul's message to the Corinthians, Romans, Colossians, Ephisians, Galatians and Thessalonians.
Please stop doing the electric slide.
Since the rest of us are not smart enough to find the exact chapter and verses where Jesus taught women should be completely covered, can his highness all full of knowledge please show us?

As for the Banning of the Burqa it is nobody's business except for the french - they can do whatever the like, whenever they like.

People die on a daily basis in America, but hardly do Iran make comments on them? I dont know if this is a water tight arguement. However, should nation really interfere in internal matters?
Good question and I find myself many times defending America's right to not act or speak out on foreign matters especially when the other so-called 'super-powers' are silent.

The difference btw Iran and America is that America is the unofficial, unelected and self-annointed leader of the free world and Iran is the wannabe cheesy Obama has most recently been globe-trotting speaking about all these lofty ideals, it is only to be expected that when the time comes to act on these ideals, he must not plead the 5th.

@Topic
Time would tell at Obama's approach. If there isnt a need for America to get involve, then there really isnt a need. This matter to some is totally an internal matter. But should nation stand back and say nothing when innocent people are paying the price with their lives for making a peaceful demonstration with regards to their votes?

**Observartion**

I see that the usual "attack the man" person is on board again. **shakes head in disgust**
Exactly. It's not about supporting the protesters or the government over the elections but about condemning the preventable and unneccesary loss of life.

If it was not truly the teaching of our Lord that women should be properly covered, why do Nuns cover all parts of there body including the hair.
Hmm the rest of us must have missed the book, chapter and verse that Jesus taught all women to be completely covered. Please brotha, can you do us a religious service and show us where in the scriptures where this is taught? much obliged.

The Christians have adultrated the teachings of our Lord, such that they are now moving towards ordaining gay priest, what was categorically written in the bible as not permissible.
As far as I know only 1 major denomination of Christians allow gay leaders. Does this now constitute the billions of christians all around the world 'adulterating' the teachings of Jesus?

Sarkozy has no perfect moral standing himself to judge what women wear, considering that he married a former model who once posed semi nude.
Sarkozy's moral shortcomings is not the point. If the French people - living in their own country - decide by majority to vote ban anything from wine to cheese to dvds to french kissing, it is their perogative and their business. No foreigner has any standing whatsoever to take offense - else go back to your own country. Simple.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama And The Iranian Crisis: by JeSoul(f): 4:16pm On Jun 23, 2009

This comment comes from inadequate historical knowledge. Just a brief one.

In 1953 when President Mosadek had a plan to take away Iran's oil from American Comapnies, and stop them from making excess profit from it, at the expense of Iranians, the then American govt. paid rogues and thugs to stage protest, in other that the army would have a reason to unseat Mosadek. The plan was successful, Mosadek was thrown out of power and the Shah of Iran who was in Exile in America went back to Iran and became the President.

Mosadek was so popular with the Iranians and he was a democraticaly elected president. So the US actions did not go down well with the Iranian people, and so came the Islamic revolution of 1979, that revolution had two major theme behind it, non interference of foreign power in Iran politics and the installation of the leader of the people. This is where Ayatollah came from.

Mosavi pledges allegiance to the Ayatollah, he played a major role in this revolution, Obama routing for him would not neccessarily bring many changes to Irans foreign policy, and Obama knows this.

Secondly Mousavi does not want the Americans support, its like a kiss of death. He would loose popularity in Iran immediately he is said to be supported by foreing powers, Alhmadenajad and Khameni know this, that is why they are already trying to say that it is the British and US that are supporting the protest.

Thirdly who can really proof that Alhmadinajad did not win that election, why are most of the protesters, good with twitter and youtube, if that is the case then there is a great chance Alhmadinajad won the election, cause most of the illiterates and Islamic fundamentalist are not technical savvy, and in Iran they are more in number, and could have voted for Alhmadinajad.
Lol . . . thank you for addressing the 'inadequacies' in my historical knowledge. Now, I'm just curious as to how you deduced from my post that I stood in disagreement to any of the points - generally accepted by many if I may say - you raised?  huh

All I was trying to say is what Tayo nicely surmised here"
Obama does not need to condemn the clerics. What he needs to do is to stand up for the principles that the people aree fighting for - democracy, freedom of association and representation within their govt. America's indifference only shows that we stand for nothing and will take whatever comes our way.  That may be pragmatic but what happens to the moral high ground that Obama has been talking about?
Shikena.

I think its a cop out. Those with negative persuations towards the bible/religion almost always focus on the religious bad eggs and use that as jusitification to massage their unfortunate religious aversion.

All the while turning a blind eye to the good that many many christians (catholics and protestants) do all around the world everyday.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama And The Iranian Crisis: by JeSoul(f): 2:01am On Jun 23, 2009
There's doing the 'right' thing, then there's doing the politically right thing - and Obama has chosen the latter.

Whichever way he responds and whichever way you slice it, its a lose-lose situation, he just has to pick which loss he'll prefer to endure.

FamilyRe: Ladies: Can You Be A Housewife? by JeSoul(f): 3:06pm On Jun 22, 2009
hmmm . . . I can certainly appreciate the very different dynamics of being a housewife in Nigeria vs in the West, they are two very different scenarios and I certainly empathize with those in Naija who say you must have a back-up plan, I don't blame una jare. But at the end of the day it really comes down to the kind of man you chose to marry.

Well as for me I can and am going to be a housewife for a short time . . . for one major reason - to raise my future children myself. I will be at home until they are old enough and I'm confident enough in the job I have done. I will not leave their fate to the hands of daycares and morally and academically deficient schools - they will be my #1 job, along with my future husband.

To my fellow sisters, there is nuthin demeaning or reducing in staying home to raise & take care of your family for a while - infact I see it as the hardest job and the most noble a woman can do. Of what use is it if I succeed in a career but lose my household? It is extremely hard to be successful at both - you must pick one for a season to focus on, and you can always do some kind of part-time gig if you have a lotta time of your hands. This is not to say you won't have dreams and other goals - those can come before or after the children are grown.

Please tell me the rest. There's simply no way I can manage to finish it. I stopped where Affleck shows Crowe the dead girl laughing on his phone, asking, "Does that look like someone who was going to commit suicide?"
What happens after that? What's the movie about?
Yeah it turns out she was working for the bad company, had been planted in Affleck's office to gather information but then she fell in love with Affleck and wanted out, found out she was also pregnant as well. The company was upset she wanted out and Crowe & co concluded she was killed for that. Affleck wants to use this to fight the company and bring them down and Crowe gets the exclusive story/interview for his paper. Affleck n his wife make up and look like they'll get back together.

Well long story short, Crowe put a few loose ends together and figured out Affleck was lying and had actually found out earlier his mistress was working with that company - hired the military dude to follow and watch her and the dude who turns out to be looney & completely devoted to Affleck, killed the girl becos she betrayed him. Crowe confronts Affleck, he confesses and Crowe says he'll out him.

End of story  smiley
