Biina, If the Cavs management take the team apart Lebron is probably not going to stick around after this season. They only need about 2 solid additions (perhaps 1 starter and a #1 scoring option off the bench) and to rid themselves of crunch time fade-away players. Ethanol, did you just use the word Wally and Beast in the same sentence? Even Boston wised up enough to realize he was never going to amount to much and got rid of him. |
Ok ok ok, enough of all this scurrilous Lebron slapping AH AH! Have y'all forgotten how many seasons MJ played before even dreaming of a title. Give the dude a breather. He's only 24 nah!
hehe he's already middle age in basketball years ![]() Also, whats up wiv all these ambiguous analysis. Abeg make everybody pick a side for the finals and stick to it jor, make we know who dey for who. Oy, looks like most of y'all already did that with A-40, JeSoul, Chiogo, Moonie et all behind the MAGIC and C2H5OH, Ethanol, Alcohol andI always knew deep down you were a nibbler Death to the Lakers!!! East coast bring it home jare! Magic all the wizay! (I have forgiven you for ousting my celtics)*I have noticed a trend . . . I don't know 1 single female anywhere who likes the lakers, same on this thread. It seems to be all men who are laker fans. |
bawomolo: Where's Wally? I think people are stretching it to make it LeBron's fault when it clearly isn't. The role players didn't play their roles, and even when the shots weren't falling, they did not find a way to compensate for it on defense & hustle. |
Re: Any Food Network Fans Out There?Hell to tha yeah! ![]() "Chopped" & "Iron Chef" are my favorite. And the different Cake competitions are just I don't really like the individual cooking shows with Paula and Rachel ray and co. unless its Emeril - bamm! The competitions to me are the highlight of the network. You can learn so much from the different styles and approaches from all the different contestants. "The Next Foodnetwork Star" is about to begin again . . . I'm looking forward to it. |
timmfikk:Lol. Did I mention your name? shey na guilty conscience dey worry you ![]() |
vescucci:thanks. You did only 15mins? I guess I'll pass on it then. I couldn't get past 10mins of deathrace not sure what possessed me to attempt a watch in the first place few weeks ago . . . I smelled nonsense ahead. TOH, Spiked is right. Bale's popularity has exploded only most recently. But I guess he's always been #1 in your heart ![]() |
Moonstone:A-40 abeg let Moonstone out every once in a while no be only you need the girl jare ![]() Ariza is really good and I want him to do well but please who elease can defend so well as to prevent Orlando from raining 3's. They are just crazy jare. I think they need to test Magic for Steroids or at least mutant genes. . . they are just so supernatural. The day I knew that Magic does not have one defined star was when Howard was suspended and they still won their game against 76ers and all the team members still rallied to beat Igoudala and team. That is whatSpot on. Orlando has shown they can hold down the fort when the boss is away . . . Mo williams and co showed that in the crunchest of times they are useless without Lebron. LOL - Where's Doyin abeg? I need him to come back here.I know I miss that silly boy. No outrageous comments and predictions to be amused by ![]() |
I didn't know Lebron was this hated!! all though the Cavs did showboat too much at times they forgot the cardinal rule of sports: Always respect your opponent
and for that singular reason I feel not sorry for them. I vividly remember the last time they played the Celtics . . . all the dancing and picture-taking and showboating . . . who's got the last laugh now? His team-mates really let him down their bench was pathetic and Big Z became big Zero only Delonte West and Mo Williams (rather late in the day) showed upShikena. Even if you're shot isn't falling, you can help your team in so many other ways, rebounding, deflection, energy, hustling on defense. They shoulda watched tapes of the previous series with the Celtics and seen how we managed to take them the distance with a 1-legged team. Ariza would definitely be too fast but reasonably under-sized Turkoglu might shoot over him all night but if Odom is placed on Turk then who guards Lewis?? as for guarding Kobe i think they can put Pietrus or Lee on himExactly. If in typical orlando style they resort to the 3pt routine in transition there'll be little Ariza or Odom can do. Orlando lives and dies by the 3pter . . . Laker fans should be praying the basketball gods stop smiling on them soon. Hahahahehe make una take am easy sha ![]() |
biina:Then who should it go to? most certainly not Lebron. He shot 50%, avgd 40pts, dished 8asts and grabbed 8rebs per game. What more could he have done? While it is a legitimate argument they matched-up poorly with the Magic, the simple point is they did not play well. In all sports there's always a team you match up poorly against but that's not an excuse for the lack of effort and hustle. You can be under-skilled but still hustle your behind off and yes still lose BUT with lose with pride and your head up. Which of the 6 games can you point to and say yes they Cavs gave it their all? Boston matched up poorly with Atl last yr, yet you did not hear people fault the Celtics for not playing hard even when they lost. |
What is this? the Lebron James Hater-thon haba i would like to believe he did not mack your broads Bawo and C2H5OH although his behavior was absolutely classless after the game and as if that was not bad enough he went on to say this: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-lebronsfuture&prov=ap&type=lgns
My brotha help me wonder oh . . . where's Chiogo? there's some heavy duty nibbling going on ![]() On the flipside Lebron is still a great player a very great one!! he averaged 38pts 8 boards and 8 assists and scored 42% of his team's points or thereabout so the truth is his supporting cast failed him for the umpteenth timeGbam Gbam Gbam!!! All this talk about Lebron not stepping up, it was the rest of the team that did not show up. They are to blame. Ben Wallace is saying he's likely to retire . . . his decline began when he went to chicago Lakers vs Magic hmmm now this is a tough one i'd like to see the matchups and all that this would probably be Gasol's toughest test Bynum has been pretty poor in the post-season so he might need to step it up here. The front-court might also be an issue Ariza might be too small to guard Turkoglu or Lewis so Odom would h ave t o be put on either of themFinally some real analysis abeg you and moonstone should chill out and come and post more often ![]() I think Ariza will be too fast for Turk who can be sluggish atimes. Odom will def be a better match. I wonder who the magic will put on Kobe . . . I don't think they have anyone who can put up a decent defensive session on him. I'm seeing in Doyin's crystal ball: Howard abusing Bynum and Gasol down in the paint a few elbows will be in order by the time the series is done. |
ThiefOfHearts:Who's in it? and what's it about? |
I shared most posters' resentment towards the media for worshipping at the foot of Lebron and absolutely hate the Lebron vs. Kobe commercials but the level of venom being spewed against Lebron is just make una take am easy. He hasn't stolen anyone's girlfriend has he? Magic vs. Lakers - as long as Orlando's 3pt ball continues to fall there will be no stopping them. They've already won in La this yr so they'll be confident. East coast abeg bring another trophy back to its rightful conference jare ![]() |
. . . so quiet in here Has anyone seen "The International" with Clive Owen? I was thinking of checking it out. |
@Jesoul, i watched a program one time on CBN, and there was this woman who did a blood tansfusion and prior to the operation she was a well known introvert, but after the whole stuff, she soon became a well talkative and exhibited all the traits of an extrovert, and mr.victor oladukun (TV presenter) asked the medical practitioner present there abt the whole thing abt character, nature and all that, and the answer from the doctor were in the affirmative (he agreed) so i really think that b4 you start aggreeing u must first understand the full composites of the HUMAN blood and how it operates
Okpari! don't you know you must never believe anything you watch on CBN? ![]() And who's to say her transformation is not just simply becos she's been at the brink of death and now has a new lease and take on life? hence her character change? |
bindex:Emi ke? I am flattered I knoweth very much what I speak. I don't believe that you have put it correctly when you say when ever there is a declaration of faith in the bible it is always accompanied by action. It started with Abraham the father of faith. He picked up his tents and moved when God told him there was a land far away and all thru the scriptures. Show me an instance of faith divorced from action brotha? These verses do not talk about any action at all, all it says is that Christians should have faith, believe and whatever they ask for through prayers, it shall be given to them.lol . . . scripture verses do not stand alone the same way you don't read chapter 12 in an intro to chemistry textbook while skipping the previous and following chapters. The bible is replete with commands to act and pray. This verse is just one that encourages us to have faith and ask God when we need help, it doesn't say sit on ur behind while you're asking and do nuthin. |
@jesoul didn't god say ''if any be sick amongst you,let him go to the church elders that they might lay hands on him''? Why the prayer and medication? If god wanted you to take drugs, why didn't he prescribe panadol and aspirin for you in the bible. Yet you rely on the works of science but reject their findings when they question creation. Such HYPOCRISY.
If you're going to start your dicussion from a preconcieved, ill-formed and apparently unchangeable bias then I must say I'm sorry someone else will have to indulge you cos of such I decline to be a participant. Cheers. davidylan:I was just about to quote that verse. Thank you. |
@Jesoul the question is would YOU accept such if you were the one in the position of the lil girl? if yes, are you saying agreeing you would accept the donor's character traits, nature that no doubt flows thru the same donor's blood? which is no doubt what the holy bible talks about in that same lev. 17
Well lets look at what the bible says in Lev 17:14 The life of every creature is in its blood. That is why I have said to the people of Israel, ‘You must never eat or drink blood, for the life of any creature is in its blood.’ So whoever consumes blood will be cut off from the community. There are several problems in trying to apply this verse to the blood transfusion situation: 1. This is a ceremonial law of the OT that we are no longer bound by as christians today. 2. This instance is one of eating or drinking the blood, very very very different from transfusing to save a person's life. 3. Where does it hint that a persons 'character' or 'trait' or 'nature' is coded in their blood? I had a friend who did a blood transfusion to save her life years ago. She was skinny as a pole prior to it but the person's blood she was given obviously had a much different make up because she became borderline overweight in just a few months. Now if you say a person's blood carries AIDS or any other bloodborne disease then obviously such can be passed on from donor to the acceptor then I'll agree 100% with you. But certainly not their character or trait. One of my close friends just had a liver transplanted into her few months ago . . . so far I don't think she's taken on her donor's character. So my short answer: Yes. I will certainly do a transfusion if God-forbid I ever needed it. And I would pray that it would be successful and that any disease or negative in the donors blood would not be passed on to me. |
aasog:Aren't they the same useless ignorants who complained they weren't invited to the G20 summit a while back? Just when you think they've said or done the worst, they find a way to outdo their own stupidity. |
bindex:No it doesn't, thou speakest of what thou knowest not. Read the bible, again. When God told people to have faith, whenever Jesus taught about belief in God, whenever we see a declaration of faith, it is always accompanied by an action. Christianity & the bible teaches to pray and act. Not just pray as some falsely insinuate. |
@blackspade, There is nothing like a right to marriage - heterosexual or homosexual for that matter. Your natural right does not impose a burden on others. You cannot force the State to formally recognise your union when it does not favour the State to do so. Of what use is homosexual marriage to the society - none! That is not the case with heterosexual marriage, where the society depends on it for its perpetuity and stability. The State will not be violating anybody's rights if it decides to not recognise any marriage at all.
Gbam! It does not bother nor concern me if two people of the same sex want to get it on . . . as long as they don't delude themselves into thinking the rest of us have to recognize their union. The majority have spoken in Cali, deal with it. besides they can always come up here to Massachusetts to get married . . . *hisses* . . . useless liberal state |
ROTFLOL . . . Lord of heaven! what kind of braindead, airhead, incompetent primates, waste-of-oxygen useless idiots incapable of logical thinking do we have at the helm of the government? This is a good example of why Obama is visiting Ghana and not Nigeria and probably why Obama will NEVER visit Nigeria. Kai! today I am thoroughly ashamed of my country ![]() |

this place is turning into a haven for leBron haters . . . did he steal anybody's girlfriend? Like my Chiogo said some peeps be nibbling on Kobe's behind just a tad bit too much However I do like the Cavs getting pushed around now cos they got cocky with all the dancing and showing off during rds 1-2. |
Tragic waste of life due to ignorance and a misunderstanding of scripture. The bible is so much more than black and white and religious superstition. They should have prayed and given the girl a transfusion. Its cases like this that gives non-religious heads the stones to insult religion. |
Can a born again christian listen to any other form of music that is not gospel even if the son has no dirty lyrics?.
Yes. But watch that you don't get on a slippery slope of consuming music that doesn't edify your spirit or glorify God. Our pastor said last sunday that any music that is not gospel is very sinful but I doubt that. You're right to doubt becos he is wrong. I've listened to secular artists who sing about life, love, politics and religion who make a lotta sense and say a lotta true things. One must not have the "gospel" label to be able to communicate truth. |
toneyb:Go back and read it in context. While you're at it and if you have time brush up on Hebrew writing styles of attributing everything to the plan of God. The same bible quotes in other places Pharaoh hardened his heart . . . but of course we already know you have no intrest in what the bible actually says, don't we? bawomolo:I'm mighty glad you used the word seem. Becos it is a false assumption you have there. Re-read our entries and come back with a better assumption brotha . |

davidylan: The way I see it if not for science we would only be able to imagine the wonders of the handiwork of God. Science & discovery just helps us see it even more clearly. And some prefer to falsely think science stands in opposition to God. |

Buda atum, you may not be a believer in God but I have just become a fan of yours as this has got to be the wisest, most balanced, logical and honest post from any atheist ever on these boards. I hope you are here to stay! buda atum:In the terms of human secular reasoning, yes & nodding in total agreement. Having said that, is religion good for people?Good point. It is a pity that religion, at least as practised by the churches, has remained indoctrination, however, as opposed to teaching people how to think. People are continuously told what to believe, which is what is meant by "opium of the people" becasue it does not require exercising the mind one iota, and creates the people we see today - or at least, some people - who blindly accept what they are told is so without questioning on the part of the individual. And as far as I can understand, even Jesus raved on about that not being what people should do, or didn't he say those who tell you what to believe don't believe it themselves?A pity that I (and I'm certain multitudes of other christians) share deeply. You're right on about Jesus himself teaching on the subject about knowing what you believe and why you believe it and the bible goes further to teach that you should be ready to defend it and answer for it. |
bawomolo:Hmm really? I didn't know that. Dude should have found a better way to cheat. forensic investigator checking out handwritingI wonder what the worst they can do is to punish him? prolly a fine or something. It's not like they can undraft him and send him back to the 12th grade ![]() |
Chrisbenogor:I liken looking at the world and claiming it was as a result of colliding chance of perfect molecules and atoms at the perfect times and in the perfect proportions and to the same end to looking at a laptop in all its complex details of chips and units and processors all working in perfect harmony and to the same end and then having the inexplicable, unjustifiable nerve to say it happened by chance. |
