bawomolo:Lol . . . Rose shouldn't feel too bad, at least another 30 - 40% of NBA drafts do not take their own tests or write their own papers or exams ![]() |
If I were Amnesty I go throw in that wet (from wiping off the sweat) towel ![]() Your return to NL did not go unnoticed |
lol . . . Bindex, why God & the bible dey vex you so? Leave us christians to our delusions and hallucinations, by all measures, we are very happy with our "non-existent evil God" and not at all bothered when we're labeled insane and foolish . . . the bible already told us to expect it. |
BlueDiva:Wisdom in the most simple of statements. Let he who has ears listen. |
By the way did you all hear BRADY IS BACK!!!! Where are all the habitual Patriot haters? Doyin, Rikkyjen and co? Eat your hearts out fellas Patriots Super Bowl Champs 2010!!! |
Moonstone:Extra-rotten tomatoes would be just fine girl bawomolo:The hell is Mecham compared to a proven star like Vick? ![]() Vick should prove himself in the CFL or AFL before thinking of coming back as a QBBad idea. He's is not getting any younger and I don't think he has much to 'prove'. We all know he can ball in the big leagues. He just needs a team to take a chance on him and he will produce becos he has to . . . all those lawyer fees dude must have mad bills to pay.
Vick could try out with the Detroit Lions
Are you cursing the poor dude? he just got out of prison and you want to send him to another with the Lions? One of their players actually predicted they'd make the playoffs next season . . . I know its good to have faith but . . . lol |

But you also predicted Portland would edge Houston eh? Guess we win some, lose some
lol . . . nuthin gets past the Dr right? And hey, dont perish the thought just yet of a Kobe-Lebron finalz (at least Mr. Stern hasn't). The Cavs just need to WIN tonight at home and then somehow WIN at Orlando and then WIN at home again (Hehehe, somebody SLAP meI am gladly volunteering for the job, I am very thorough, I leave no room for doubt and my results are usually accurate and undeniable ![]() |
Max, here's my take on Terminator Salvation: so I know TS has received a lotta negative reviews and after watching it I can see why BUT I still enjoyed the movie and give it a 7 of 10. I guess your impression of it will depend on your fanaticism level with the Terminator series. If you're hardcore, your expectation level will be really high and this movie will let you down. There's no real Bang-shock-awe moment, but it chugs along nicely. For the average fan such as myself it was sufficient. I enjoyed it more than the last installment T3. The action sequences are fantastic (though I coulda used some more shock and awe ) and there are several 'unexpecteds' in the plot that are neat, leading up to an even neater ending. The one criticism that I have is that it seemed to be lacking in "soul", it seemed somewhat hollow in emotion and you kinda don't really connect with the characters. Overall I think TS successfully does what it set out to do . . . lay the groundwork for future Terminator flicks and entertain the viewer in the process Again I enjoyed it and I'm sure majority of less obsessive, fanatic Terminator fans will enjoy it too. |
tpiah:Another thing I dislike about foxx, he is everywhere! esp after he won the oscar. Insert any award show: present, Dog show? present, mechanics conference? present, if-it-will-put-my-face-on-tv? present. He's probably not familiar with the phrase "Less is more". TOH, ejo, kindly remind me occasionally to never get on ur bad side ![]() |
Where's my poor Moonstone . . . eya sorry oh your red devils let you down. Ma worry e go betta next season |
If i had it over again I'll still pick the Cavs. Remove Orlando's ridiculous 3pt shooting and they are out in the 1st Rd. |
C2H5OH:I'm not even a fan of all this rescinding and upgrading and what not . . . Refs make good calls and they make bad calls, they catch fouls and sometimes they miss them. They're human but they have screwed up a time too many these playoffs . . . no be today we've noticed they're highly biased towards especially Lebron and Wade, we've been crying foul all season. But as someone quoted Red Auerbach and I paraphrase "If you put yourself in position to let the refs decide the game for you, then you've already lost". Each team should go out and play! and inspite of bad calls the better team will still win in the end. |

As a sidenote I am disgusted at the shameless lusting of the NBA for a Lebron-Kobe finals could they be any more brazen about it? and I am the only one who finds those muppet Lebron vs Kobe commercials anything but funny? ![]() |
To say I'm suprised to see Cleveland go down 1-3 wouldn't cut it. . . but deep down inside I laugh. Where's all that dancing and showing off and 'picture taking' on the sidelines now? Howard talk am pride comes before a fall and I think the Cavs headed into the series overconfident.and it doesn't help Orlando is shooting the 3-ball at such a ridiculous percentage. That was the only scenario I pictured them beating Cleveland. If they lose (and looks like they will) , Lebron is on the subway straight to NY. I don't see him having any good reason to stick around in O-hio. Moonstone, I trust you're enjoying urself to the fullest in Lagos and goodluck to ur Red Devils! |
lol @ Max . . . I was confused myself for a second there. Guess NL has glitches like that.bsanya:ROTFLOL . . . how did i miss that? ![]() JS, you saw Terminator and didn't post a review? Why na? Let the rest us know what to expect,in terms of everything, without giving anything away, like you did with Traitor. I saw it afterwards and your observations were spot on.Terminator Salvation review coming right up! I'm glad someone else has confirmed my experience with Traitor they had a chance to really make a statement movie for the islamic world but blew it. |

I saw this past weekend and throroughly enjoyed it coulda used some more fireworks but altogether a well done movie, esp the unpredictable ending. |

. . . "It takes two to tango" - very well said. I hope this will not just be another 'session' but that it will result in something positive and real measurable change. |

I'm slightly above indifferent to him. I liked Guy P. most recently in Traitor. |
I almost forgot, Bawo I have extremely "good news" for you ![]() http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4195181 "Re-signing guard Ben Gordon will be the top priority of new Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman heading into the offseason" |

The way I see it the only reason they've made it this far is their talent . . . and there's only so far that talent will take you. Dr, you talk am well well, Denver should be up 2-0. And at this point I am sold that they are certainly not a fluke and as for Carmelo |
duduspace: JeSoul:See, I can also copy and paste. When someone comes up with a fresh perspective or issue or question, it shall be deserving of a fresh response. |
vescucci: I'm glad say na you talk am.Second, I detest Jamie Foxx.lol you are certainly not alone in that regard my brotha ![]() tpiah:Blame it on all this political correct nonsense. There're saying it's a great thing if hollywood becomes "color-blind" lol rubbish . . . . like Karma rightly noted, if it were reversed and it was a white man playing Obama in his future bio all hell will break loose. |
jagunlabi:I don't know enough about the core concepts of Islam to say with authority what their position is on the matter. But I guess I do submit another person could very well put forth my argument as justification for the 'actions' of their god. It doesn't mean I have to accept it, just like you don't have to accept mine either. However I always come back to this. What was the context in which this supposed "wickedness" happened? All to often antagonists only choose to focus on the cop who killed the burgler instead of sympathising with the trail of victims the criminal left in his wake AND the future victims the cop's actions have prevented. Too often they misplace their compassion with the murderer instead of the judge rightly sends him to death row. |
Bindex you keep raising the same points and I'll keep giving you the same answer: I cannot "discuss" with you becos it is apparent you cannot be objective and approach the subject matter divorced from your prejudice. It would only be an exercise in futility and I don't want to waste both your time and mine. Please see the below quote JeSoul:Cheers. |
Toneyb & Bindex I'm sure you lovely fellas feel passionately about the subject but please re-submit your perceived grievances against God and bible when you can be somewhat objective in a discussion. Bawo, bawomolo:I'm glad you asked. Remember this topic? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-267506.0.html#msg3808956 is it necessary to kill people just because they worship another God? is it that serious.Of course not and I'm not sure where you're getting this. Jesus teaches us to love those who hate us. And while this may seem to clash with the OT God if you look closely it really doesn't. The problem a lotta people have reconciling the supposed contradicting nature of the God of the OT and NT is simple: we have this twisted idea that God should be all love and never angry. That He should be only dishing out good but never "evil" as in punishment for wrong doing. And when this made-up round God doesn't fit into the square bible we then proceed to declare Him "evil" or "non-existent". Are you saying Justifiable homicide isn't evil in nature?Well I can certainly see how it can be argued that way. However I would counter by asking to look instead at the big picture. I may be committing an "evil" towards one who is more than deserving of it but I am doing a good that by miles and lightyears overshadows any negative. I would feel zero remorse if I killed a man who was trying to murder my mother or father, or if I stopped a rapist from destroying a young child, or towards the suicide bomber on death row who killed innocent people. |
bawomolo:By OT laws do you mean the set of commands God gave the Isrealites? If so then I don't abide by any of them. We're taught in the NT that those laws were for a season and pointed to Jesus Christ who would come and replace them, giving us a better way of being justified by faith instead of by our actions. Now that being said there are many elements of the Law which still hold value today. When the Law says do not steal, kill or covet etc there is instrinsic value in such commands. And When we see commands of the Law echoed in the NT then it is obviously still valid and I by God's grace live by them. as i have said, the Christian God isn't the all powerful all knowing god if he doesn't have the capability to do evil. Why? becos Bawo says so? ![]() As I submitted to you before and will quote it: As I pointed out look at the natural disasters God carried out in the OT. They are all meted out as punishment. Is it evil for a judge to condemn a serial killer to death? For the courts to send to deathrow the soul who rapes and murders a child? In the same way it is not evil for God to punish those people as He saw fit for their atrocious transgressions. This is not a God who is bored and starts wacking innocent people just to show off. The bible even says God hates the death of the evil man. Ezekiel 18:23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?' |
Since all most atheists on NL do is copy and paste and reiterate the same arguements and points of contention . . . I will copy and paste and reiterate the same answers many of us christians have given to you. No be only una sabi ctrl+c and ctrl+v. For starters go to this most recent thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-273481.0.html David & Bobbyaf discussed on the OT. Search my sister Pilgrims name, she has discussed with more detail on several OT topics than anyone can handle. No need for repetition. When someone comes up with a fresh perspective or issue or question, it shall be deserving of a fresh response. |
