The Celtic players are just dropping like flies. I hope ppl have now gotten a better idea of what Powe means to the Celtics. As soon as he left the game the paint was wide open for whoever. Perkins is a good defender but he doesn't hussle n tussle like Powe.

2 things.

1. There is no such thing as "catching the spirit" in the bible. In a few situations where people were 'filled' with the spirit, there were no such shenanigans described going on as with the clowns in the above clips.

2. Where the spirit of God is there is order, unity, peace and joy (see 1 Cor 14) - none of the above clips fulfill those requirements so I wouldn't necessarily call them "churches". Most of these kinds of behaviour are cultural/traditional practices that have been brought into the 'church'.

Exactly. We have our hands full with working out our own salvation daily and making sure we ourselves are not disqualified. As for Wade, the refs love him. For someone whose play involves a lot of contact, he is hardly called for offensive and defensive fouls. Dude played 50 minutes against the bulls with no fouls called. The star treatment he gets is too much.

Waaaaay too much  . Something needs to be said and done. I'm glad the league is taking a closer look at updating its 'traveling' rules . . . LeBron n co who've been traveling across state lines and not called for it. I wouldn't even mind if the refs called these plays across the board, but they only give them to the star players. It's like almost every topic in every thread in the Religion Section is always about negative reports on Churches, Pastors and Christian doctrine. There is no doubting the fact that some individuals or group of individuals had bastardised the sacred institution 'The Church' through their nefarious activities. We see a lot of people who are not deserving becoming pastors overnight due to unemployment and not due to callings or even proper training. We see some 'pastors' (quote and unquote) taking advantage of the situation in the country to exploit some Nigerians and as a result give bad names to the pastoral title and thereby bringing the Church to the place of disrepute.

Nothing can change it. The bible predicted everything that is happening to the "church" right now. If only people will avoid those useless crusades and stay home and open their bibles and be genuinely transformed. True christians and churches all around the globe should continue in their quiet, faithful walk with God, doing His will in whatever situation God has placed them in.

They play diff positions so comparing them in 3pt regard is not feasible. Ginobili, Terry, Hamilton and Odom don't count, they've been on n off the bench. Besides I'm willing to gamble most of their efficiency is not as good as Powe's. He gets so much in short minutes . . . Odom has only 15 pts combined over the past 4 games  And I think Bawo expressed my feelings on Beasley

  The bible is more than black and white. Thou shalt not do this or that for every situation is not written in it. It's not about fitting our ideologies into it, but taking the entire word and applying its principles in making decisions in unique situations that are not spelt out word for word in it.

The girl is 9yrs old, I repeat 9yrs old. Doctors said her life was being threatened and it could prove fatal if she had the babies . . . what kind of cold, unfeeling heart would still demand that the blanket letter of the law be followed when it is clear that this poor abused child desperately needs mercy? Jesus showed us times without number that it is more than laws and commandments, but moreso about the heart and intentions. I don't know of a situation where this could not be clearer.

Each state has their own local tv stations and broadcasts and usually show their local teams games. Just like they show Celtics games on Comcast and Redsox games on NESN.

Yes they do. But like the Dallas Mavericks showed us few yrs ago you can be drop dead blazing in the regular season and win 20 games in a row, be the #1 in the nba  but still flame out in the first round to the #8 seed GS.
  Many teams play well in the Reg season but choke come playoffs. Which is why you can't anoint any team champion until the final buzzer in May has gone off.

"Moonlighting" is a name of a throwback tv show from the 80ties i think and the main characters were PI's Bruce Willis and some other lady I forget her name now. They constantly had this romantic, sexual tension, flirty, relationship back n forth thing. So naturally moonlighting has come to signify in some circles 'romancing' or 'relationshipping' or just plain 'kicking it' . Does this break it down sufficiently enuff for ya?

I know I still Believe in God because i randomly call on Him on occassions just like every Christains do. I have read the New testaments so many times right from when i was a Kid. Growing up I was a very Religious Catholic. Served on the altar(mass servents of Altarboys, what ever way you know it) from the age of 9 till i was 17. Attended a Seminary and dropped out after one year, immediately i became sceptic of all Religious teachings.

I based most of my school projects and researchs to religion so i could have reasons to learn more, But it contributed to my doubts. Anyway, I decided not to care anymore and live my normal life. I feel guity now loosing my religion, remembering those days it was like a pillar. But, I will try and read more of the New testaments and learn every inspiring message if possible.

You're more than welcome Kenn. A friend of mine frequently likes to say that it was when he lost his religion he found God.
The guilt you feel is the inherent knowledge that God placed in all of us that He is real and seeks a personal relationship with us. I think you were so far into the forest that you couldn't see the trees - meaning perhaps you were so deep into religion and the activities that the point of it all escaped you. Remember Mary and Martha? Martha was serving and doing all the worldly things whereas Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and spend time with Him and learn directly from Him and Jesus remarked that Mary had chosen the better way. If need be step way from "church" and fling urself into the bible, there is no safer, clearer place than in the presence of God.
   You don't sound like an atheist to me, just a genuine person who's seeking clarity on his faith and I pray by God's grace He makes Himself plain and known to you. Amen.
