The Celtic players are just dropping like flies. I hope ppl have now gotten a better idea of what Powe means to the Celtics. As soon as he left the game the paint was wide open for whoever. Perkins is a good defender but he doesn't hussle n tussle like Powe. |
Celtics in white + Bulls in green? = confusing Men what did we do to annoy the basketball gods? Powe & Rondo again have just gone down to injuries |
bawomolo:lol . . . poor you. Most of those crusades and conventions are usually a joke, from the african americans to the africans . . . I dunno why black folk like to overdo and exaggerate everything. |
bawomolo:yeah . . . so . . . how exactly did you end up there? ![]() |
2 things. 1. There is no such thing as "catching the spirit" in the bible. In a few situations where people were 'filled' with the spirit, there were no such shenanigans described going on as with the clowns in the above clips. 2. Where the spirit of God is there is order, unity, peace and joy (see 1 Cor 14) - none of the above clips fulfill those requirements so I wouldn't necessarily call them "churches". Most of these kinds of behaviour are cultural/traditional practices that have been brought into the 'church'. Cheerios ![]() |
bawomolo:The concept must be entirely foreign to him. 9 children with 9 different women
I think the Broncos would even do well to trade him if we judge his game against the Chargers and even the Pro-Bowl he was simply atrocious
Atrocious indeed. The problem is QB's are hard to come by these days. Though there are rumors the Broncos are aiming at Jeff Garcia the dude is good I dunno why teams keep sleeping on him |
spikedcylinder:ouch! ![]() |
No2Atheism:my brotha I dey jare I've been reading your ever so zealous efforts at contending fiercely for the faith on various threads keep it up as some of us are behind the scenes cheering you on hope all is well with you and yours.2. Yes u are correct nothing can change it, its simplz as dat, any attempts at correction only ends up resulting in more heresy becus ultimately those attempts amount to trying to prevent fufillment of prophesy.Exactly. We have our hands full with working out our own salvation daily and making sure we ourselves are not disqualified. The best we can do is speak for truth whenever the opportunity arises but as for the larger picture and the degenerate state of the so-called 'church' there is not stopping or 'fixing" it. |
bawomolo:Ouch! Moonstone I await your sharp reply to that ![]() As for Wade, the refs love him. For someone whose play involves a lot of contact, he is hardly called for offensive and defensive fouls. Dude played 50 minutes against the bulls with no fouls called. The star treatment he gets is too much.Waaaaay too much . Something needs to be said and done. I'm glad the league is taking a closer look at updating its 'traveling' rules . . . LeBron n co who've been traveling across state lines and not called for it. I wouldn't even mind if the refs called these plays across the board, but they only give them to the star players. This needs to be addressed.Come o, which kain team losing to the bucks? The kin team wey shoot 30% from the field and turns the ball over almost 30 times |
Bawo I think you'd mentioned a while back about Wade and the fouls calls he gets. Seriously the dude just runs into the paint, flails his arms like a chicken who just got its head chopped off and he gets the whistle at least half his points are from the free throw line . . . as far as I'm concerned his numbers are not entirely legitimate. The REAL MVP candies are Kobe and LeBron and I think its LeBron's trophy this year. He's numbers are alien and just seems to do a bit more for his team than Kobe. & Moonstone leave Bawo to dream on, hallucination is the only way he can cope with the reality that is bulls By the way . . . since ya'll lost to his lowly bulls, reciprocating you with some e-chocolates are in order right? |
tnk24:. . . verily verily, this is one with a good understanding of the times. If a Committee is set up by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on the way forward for Nigerian Churches and how to correct the perceived lapses seen in churches, and you are among the people elected to be on that committee, WHAT WILL BE YOUR SUGGESTIONS TO THE COMMITTEE?Nothing can change it. The bible predicted everything that is happening to the "church" right now. If only people will avoid those useless crusades and stay home and open their bibles and be genuinely transformed. True christians and churches all around the globe should continue in their quiet, faithful walk with God, doing His will in whatever situation God has placed them in. |
spikyn:It may have been faithful to the book but it was weak, flat, deflating and tasteless. Speilberg's mama raised him better than that. And at least nobody needed to upload Windows into the invaders' computers. . .Well at least Indy Day had much more action and kick to it |
iice:That self woulda been a better ending than that crap we got. The ending sucked, talk about an anticlimax. Also liked the ending of the Mist but i had another scenario in mind, what if after killing all of them in the car, he steps out and takes a few steps and bam! - no mist after a certain pointyeah it definitely worked to leave me slighted They shouldn't have died or they should have killed him along with the rest. Leaving only him alive after killing his son was just wrong. |
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3983805 Someone should hand Jay Cutler a pacifier, what a cry baby! He throws more hissy fits than sheniqua and I hope they don't give him a trade. This is the nfl, man up jayjay *hisses* ![]() |
DeReloaded:lol I didn't even finish the movie, what happened at the end? |
chiogo:lol . . . whatchu got now? Comcast or charter? Charter is tied with Shrewsbury for the worst cable company in Mass. Oh hell yeah it's hilarious, you should see how he's on the couch yelling out names at the players when they're not playing up to par. I'm like "Boy, I'm the b-baller in this house. trust me it's not that easy".lol my sister n I are Celtic heads but my brother is a lakers fan I would go to the house to watch the finals games with them last may it would get so animated with everyone screaming at the tv pass! shoot! what the heck are you doing? when we're really having fun we'd all put on our different jerseys to give our teams luck . . . by the end my bro was insulting Gasol & Odom so bad lol . . . good times
@Jesoul I'm cocksure its her thats where she got popular before she blew with X-Files Posey is a better defender ooh plus he shoots better from downtown and comes good in playoff games besides how about the other 5 cats i called.
I think you meant a better perimeter defender, Powe holds down the paint almost as good as anyone in the league. They play diff positions so comparing them in 3pt regard is not feasible. Ginobili, Terry, Hamilton and Odom don't count, they've been on n off the bench. Besides I'm willing to gamble most of their efficiency is not as good as Powe's. He gets so much in short minutes . . . Odom has only 15 pts combined over the past 4 games And I think Bawo expressed my feelings on Beasley ![]() Ohh i ain't no Texan!i got fam in the Ft Worth area sha and i visit and chill there for a few so u see why i find it so easy to dump their teams when they slack?i just pity my aunt who buys season tickets to their friggin gamesKai season tickets to the Mavs? bad investment ![]() @chiogo$100 a month is not loose change ooh! unless Chiogo is rolling in some serious dough ![]() It seems your Celts are running out of gas if u guys don't take time catching Cleveland would not be the problem it would be going behind Orlando that would be the concernCeltics will be fine. Whether na third abi na second place we finish in, I am not concerned. I believe at full strength with the new additions we can beat Cleveland and Orlando on the road. Especially if Cleveland continues to falter in their interior defense. |
dae:The Ruins was a lil creepy, but not on the level of 'terror' Snakes on a plane is nasty Quarantine - not really 'scary' Skeleton Key - same as above House of wax - naah just another assembly line american gore flick |
How related are both churches if you really have an idea of what you are saying. The problem with the world today is that we try to fit in our ideology into the word of God. The catholic church is not giving the step father accolades but they are taking a stand on their belief on abortion which is 100% intolerance no matter the case. Can you show me in your bible where abortion can be granted in cases like this? Whether you can or cannot allow abortion in dire cases is left to you and your God but that does not mean the church should applaud abortion.
Lemme ask you this: A catholic woman is being constantly physically abused by her husband, should she stay in the marriage becos it does not say in the bible that divorce can be granted in a case like this? The bible is more than black and white. Thou shalt not do this or that for every situation is not written in it. It's not about fitting our ideologies into it, but taking the entire word and applying its principles in making decisions in unique situations that are not spelt out word for word in it. The girl is 9yrs old, I repeat 9yrs old. Doctors said her life was being threatened and it could prove fatal if she had the babies . . . what kind of cold, unfeeling heart would still demand that the blanket letter of the law be followed when it is clear that this poor abused child desperately needs mercy? Jesus showed us times without number that it is more than laws and commandments, but moreso about the heart and intentions. I don't know of a situation where this could not be clearer. What will Kumiyi or Adeboye advise in cases like this since they are holier and more God worthy than catholics?.I think I speak for others here when I ask who annointed those fellas the leaders of christians everywhere? They are not my leaders, I don't answer to them, I answer to God and His word. Look at American politicking and the churches and tell me how many evangelicals that stand out to tell the left how disgusting and unbiblical most of their ideologies can be.I understand your point and I agree that the left's agenda is being forced on religion but this issue is seperate & divorced from the topic at hand. Lets keep the discussion on the girl's case. |
chiogo:Kai you were spoiled! Were you using DirectTv? usually you can find almost any game live online esp via chinese webcasts I dunno how A-40 watches it 'cause he told me he lives in naija. he must be paying a lotta money. ballin'huh I thot 40 was in Texas? Yeah, I kinda expected the outcome, ain't sweating it. . .just that they gotta slow down with 'em losses. This time last yr they didn't have these many losses, y'know.lol . . . It must be hilarious watching the games with your bro Marbury n Moore just need time to fit into the system, they'll be fine. |
iice:I missed that episode . . . wow really? see Fringe experts I'll keep my eyes open when I go back to watch it. |
chiogo:Yup, you're absolutely right. ![]() @A-40, haha, you even know the show too. If I may ask, where do you watch ya mavericks games?, I mean the station 'cause sometimes, it doesn't play on any channel on my cable. I'm guessing nba tv??Each state has their own local tv stations and broadcasts and usually show their local teams games. Just like they show Celtics games on Comcast and Redsox games on NESN. Who's watching celtics @ miami heat? me not liking this game at all, about to go to sleep. *yawns*They tried jare. There's only so much you can do when you're missing 2 starters and 5 players overall. Starbury still needs time to integrate into the system, I expect he will get better. Moonstone:aww how sweet don't send too much sha, Celtics will be back to full strength by next week ![]() |
Moonstone:lol
Posey does better numbers than Powe jare! or do you follow your basketball via Al-Jazeera?
Yes Posey has slightly better numbers BUT Powe does it in half the minutes Posey plays and also shoots at a better percentage. Plus things like drawing charges and hussling do not show up on the stat sheets and Powe excels in that department. Its Gilian Anderson that X-Files chic it was one of my fave shows back in the dayYou sure? Cos X-files was my show and Gillian my girl, I don't think she was the one in moonlighting . . . it was long ago tho n my memory was still young. I'll try to look it up . . . |
spikedcylinder:lol. Not even just the endings. 90% of the time you can predict the whole movie. spikedcylinder:The fact that there were no real monsters in the woods, just the elders wearing costumes to scare the people from leaving the village . . . weak and flat. I pulled this memorable quote from Roger Ebert about the movie:To call the ending an anticlimax would be an insult not only to climaxes but to prefixes. |
more. . . Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End - wasted opportunity to leave a lasting 'classic' impressionWar of the worlds - the lowest moment of Steven Spielberg's "endings" career The Village - the lowest moment of Shyamalan's "endings" career |
DeReloaded:That was all the blood they could spare for us? the whole time it was building up to the death of the fake preacher? Seriously? ![]() |
Re: ***~~~The Happening - infact I'm still angryI am Legend - *insert hiss here* There will be blood - seriously? ![]() Million Dollar Baby - yes fantastic movie but I hated the way it ended The Mist - was it really necessary to kill off those people? Children of Men - no closure, I feel like the movie needed at least 20 more mins, before and after The Day the Earth Stood Still - after all that drama, boring and predictable ending I'm sure I'll remember more later. . . |
iice: it's not ringing a bell. I did miss a few episodes earlier. He was only in 1 episode? |
Memo to other teams in the league: Please Stop Utah
Why? Abeg anybody who's poised to give the Spurs and especially the Lakers a run for their money has got my unwavering support! Go Utah! ![]() |
chiogo:Yes they do. But like the Dallas Mavericks showed us few yrs ago you can be drop dead blazing in the regular season and win 20 games in a row, be the #1 in the nba but still flame out in the first round to the #8 seed GS. Many teams play well in the Reg season but choke come playoffs. Which is why you can't anoint any team champion until the final buzzer in May has gone off. Moonstone:Gladly ."Moonlighting" is a name of a throwback tv show from the 80ties i think and the main characters were PI's Bruce Willis and some other lady I forget her name now. They constantly had this romantic, sexual tension, flirty, relationship back n forth thing. So naturally moonlighting has come to signify in some circles 'romancing' or 'relationshipping' or just plain 'kicking it' . Does this break it down sufficiently enuff for ya? ![]() |
iice:who/what is that? ![]() |
what happened last night? you mean the game where your bulls lost a heartbreaker or A-40 and Hornetstone's moonlighting? ![]() |
smile4kenn:You're more than welcome Kenn. A friend of mine frequently likes to say that it was when he lost his religion he found God. The guilt you feel is the inherent knowledge that God placed in all of us that He is real and seeks a personal relationship with us. I think you were so far into the forest that you couldn't see the trees - meaning perhaps you were so deep into religion and the activities that the point of it all escaped you. Remember Mary and Martha? Martha was serving and doing all the worldly things whereas Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and spend time with Him and learn directly from Him and Jesus remarked that Mary had chosen the better way. If need be step way from "church" and fling urself into the bible, there is no safer, clearer place than in the presence of God. You don't sound like an atheist to me, just a genuine person who's seeking clarity on his faith and I pray by God's grace He makes Himself plain and known to you. Amen. |
