I think the problem is they are not consistent in hustle and don't bring the same effort every night. Cleveland is their #1 rival in heart not record and they always play tough against them.

Bobbyaf:
This thread is for both sets of people, Christians as well as those who are contemplating becoming one. My opening paragraphs were designed to paint a picture of God's love for us humans.

Can we look at some of the steps we need to take to come to Christ. What do you think the first step is?
I think its different for different people as we're all coming from different circumstances and backgrounds. However universally, I think the first step to coming to Christ is to believe in Jesus and His death, sacrifice and resurrection. Then repentance and the rest follow.

Its tricky and I have to agree that spamming and overtaking threads meant for other issues can make life difficult.
But its a flavour that is needed, like someone pointed out, soon it would be jehova's witnesses spamming with threads that hell does not exist smiley
Most atheist carry with them the feeling that they have been cheated by their former religions (just saying generally) so one can sense the anger, some other times they just love to be wise asses smiley (meself included) especially when vulnerable christians are around. This is not to excuse the foul attitude of some christians but again that is not the issue, we should learn to accommodate one another cheesy
Cheers.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Are You A Christian? by JeSoul(f): 8:41pm On Mar 31, 2009
Pastor AIO:
This is an excellent question.  I have often tried to make the distinction between carrying the title of Christian on the head and actually living the christian life.  This is a very important distinction and one that Christ makes himself.

"How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs that look beautiful on the outside but inside are full of dead people's bones and every kind of impurity.

I know for certain that it is not the professing of christianity that makes one a christian.  On this forum I've been accused of being all sorts from being an atheist (simply for agreeing with evolution) to being a babalawo (for having knowledge of Ifa) etc.  Over the last few weeks I've given some thought to these accusations (I say 'accusations' because they were phrased as accusations).  While I've not being initiated into Ifa so I cannot by any means be called a babalawo there are many precepts found in Ifa that I agree with and would strive to live my life by.  If the aim of Ifa is to achieve Iwa Pele, that is a harmonious state of being, then I share that ambition.  I might go about it differently from the way most Ifa worshippers  go about it but I appreciate the common goal.  Outwardly then I am not a babalawo but inwardly I might even be more aligned to it than the initiates.

When I read the Tao Teh Ching, I find many precepts that I can apply to my life and take.  Does that make me a Taoist?  Just because I am not wearing the label and going to the group meetings many Taoists might say 'no' I'm not one of them.  But really?  Does it require recognition by A group to become a member of the religion?

I don't believe that anywhere in the world God leaves himself without a witness such that any discerning person can perceive.  The heavens declare the glory of God.

1 The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
2 Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.

True knowledge of God is all around us.

My position is that all these tags and labels are highly overrated and are often quite meaningless.  Most christians are christian in nothing but the name, while many others are very christian in everything but the name.
A post of incredible substance. I concur most especially with the last paragraph.

is this what this thread has turned into? opening of topics? grin grin . . . does it matter if he has opened 1 or 2 topics in 10 years? david and osisi are all over the islamic thread calling allah a devil, mohammed a saddist fool, but when we call yahweh a stupid fool he get all emotional and accuse of ridiculing a deisty he reveres with his own life. . . . why is it right for christians to call atheist fools for not believeing in their god? but wrong for atheist to show them the inconsistencies of their own argument?
It isn't.

I have looked everywhere on this thread and see no one clamouring for atheists to stop insulting God. Ya'll can knock urselves out with all the insults and abuses at God all you want.

do you have to open threads to spam? wouldn't comments like Arab slaves, your prophet is a pedophile (when most girls married young during that periods) be considered spamming, rants, or insulting. How would you feel if i repeatedly called Jesus a wandering vagabond (he would be considered that in modern day terms)?

This thread is purely confirmation bias.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias

There's no point in continuing the debate if Atheists are accused of doing what anyone else does.
I'm not sure what else to tell you . . . Mazaje accused David and Osisi of being the same as the atheist spammers in the islam section - creating topics and abandoning them - I replied saying he should prove it.

Did I say atheists and others cannot open topics? I said multiple topics on the same subject is my bone of contention. I think you are delibrately choosing to ignore that simple point. Posting whatever you want on existing topics is not spam . . . making 100s of topics on the same thing is.

I even said I don't mind the insults, let them go ahead. Insults and abuses on my faith don't faze me. I would just like to see some order restored to the religion board - is that too hard to understand?

I have been to the forum less than a minute ago and see no evidence of your accusation:

Simple questions:
You accused David and Osisi of spamming as well so I asked:

How many times have David and Osisi opened threads in the Islamic forum?  Have they opened multiple threads for the same topics?

David said he has opened only 2 topics there in 5months. I can't even find one from Osisi. Do you admit you were wrong?
